3rd POV

The Kurgan had had Cinder, Torchwick, and Neo meet him at the abandoned factory he was staying at the following morning. While they stood to the side the Immortal practiced with his claymore swinging at an imaginary opponent.

"Do you have any idea what you've done?" Cinder asked the Kurgan with a harsh tone.

"I've done many things recently," the Kurgan replied. "You need to be more specific."

"Sunda Kastagir!" Cinder yelled. "You cut his head off in front of crowd and now there's a picture of you in the news. Vale knows who the Headhunter is."

"It doesn't matter," the Kurgan said. "When you've been alive as long as I have you learn how to hide in plain sight. Beside, soon none of this would matter."

"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Torchwick.

"Now that would be telling," the Kurgan said with a smile.

Cinder ignored his ominous comment. "Why Kastagir?" she asked. "You said you wanted (L/N)'s head."

"I do," the Immortal said. "But not yet." The Kurgan placed his claymore against a barrel and grabbed a towel from on top of it. "Kastagir was the one I wanted first," he said as he wiped the sweat off of himself. "Tukson was Kastagir's student. I knew (L/N) would meet with him to pay his condolences."

"So you had us follow one to find the other," Cinder said surprised by the Kurgan's strategy. "But that doesn't excuse killing him in front of all those people.

"The Faunus that saw you at the rally last night know you killed Kastagir," Torchwick said. "Knowing you did it and that you're connected to us will strain the relationship we've been working hard to make."

"I could care less about what those mangy beasts think!" the Kurgan yelled causing Torchwick to jump. "If they have a problem they can kill me."

There was a moment of silence in the room. "Speaking of which," Cinder began smiling smugly. "Emerald and Mercury confronted (L/N) last night. He admitted to being like you. Immortal."

"Did he now?" the Kurgan said smiling back.

"It got me thinking," Cinder continued. "All the other people you've killed are immortal as well. Meaning the only way to kill an Immortal is to cut off their head. It explains the scar on your throat."

"And what's your point?" the Kurgan asked.

"The point is that the next time you pull a stunt like this I can just take your head," Cinder answered.

The Kurgan laughed. "You can try," he replied as he began to walk toward Cinder causing Torchwick to step back. "A couple centuries back Salem tried to do that. It didn't go well for her." The Immortal stopped in front of her and looked down with a smile. He ran his hand down her face causing her to freeze up. "That's when I left my mark on her."

The thought of her mistress being ravaged by the Kurgan filled Cinder with fear for herself. She had never been more scared than at that moment.

"You can leave now," the Kurgan said turning away walking back toward the barrels.

Cinder regained her composure as she made her way to the exit. Torchwick and Neo followed after her.

"Neo," the Kurgan said causing her to stop and turn around. "Learn to put fear into others. Then even the mightiest can crumble." She nodded then rushed to rejoin the others. The Kurgan then grabbed a hair clipper from on top of the barrel and proceeded to shave his head.

Yang POV

Professor Ozpin had brought the four of us to Vale excusing us from our classes and responsibilities organizing the upcoming dance. We had been following him for nearly fifteen minutes with the location becoming more familiar.

"We're here ladies," Ozpin said stopping in front of a store window.

I turned to see the store and was shocked to see what it was. Printed on the window was "(L/N)'s Antiques". I looked to the others to see they were as shocked as I was at where we were.

"Umm…Professor," Ruby began. "Why did you bring us here?"

"I was contacted by an old friend last night," Ozpin answered. "They informed me that you were sticking your noses into affairs that don't concern you. You've seen too much and know too little. For your safety they feel it's necessary to rectify the latter. So I brought you here to meet them." He opened the door leading us inside where sitting at the front desk was an old dog-eared Faunus woman.

"Ozpin," the Faunus said coming out from behind the desk and walked toward us.

"Rachel," Ozpin said with a smile as he hugged the Faunus. "It's been a long time."

"It has," Rachel said separating from Ozpin. "He's upstairs."

"Thank you Rachel," the Professor replied. "This way ladies."

We followed Ozpin up a thin spiral staircase leading up to the second floor. When we made it to the top what I saw filled me with both confusion and fear. I heard Ruby gasp and looked to see she had her hands over her mouth. The others were just as startled at the sight.

Sitting on a couch running a whet stone across a katana was (Y/N) (L/N). He looked up at us and smiled. "Ozpin," he said. "I'm glad you made it."

"Well the situation that Team RWBY has put itself into deemed it necessary," Ozpin said. "Well at least that's how you put it last night."

"It's a little more than just that," (L/N) said putting his things aside and standing up. "I made a deal with them and they won, and I intend to keep up on my end. I'll answer every question they have for me, but right now I know there is one question that is gnawing at the back of their minds."

We all remained quiet as (L/N) came around a small table and stood in front of us. He was right. One thing bothered us about this entire situation.

"You were dead last night," Ruby said breaking the silence. "We check your pulse and everything. How are you still alive?"

(L/N) chuckled. "The answered to that is both simple and complicated," he said. "Thankfully for you it will answer many of your other questions. Follow me." He walked away followed closely by Ozpin to a door at the far end of the room.

We reluctantly followed them through the door entering a small circular room. The walls were lined with a number of weapons and other objects.

"This is my private collection," said (L/N). "Each of these pieces carry an extreme sentimental value. Look around."

The four of us roamed around the room. I didn't know how this answered Ruby's question. Then I saw her touching an old Dust rifle. "Ruby, leave it alone," I told her. "You might break it."

"No I won't," Ruby said.

"I would listen to your sister Miss Rose," Ozpin said. "I don't think you can afford to reimburse Mr. (L/N)."

"He's right," Weiss said. "Just one of these is worth a fortune."

Ruby stepped away from the rifle and walked to another part of the room. "Hey guy look at these," she said. We joined her to see a part of the room reserved exclusively for two swords. "Cool."

"Oh my gods," Weiss said. "Those are gladius from Ancient Vacuo."

"I've only read about these in books," said Blake. "These are what the gladiators used fighting in the coliseum."

"Those are the ones I used when I fought there," (L/N) said from behind us causing us to turn around.

"Wait…what?" Ruby asked confused as I was from what (L/N) said.

"The answer to your question Miss Rose," (L/N) replied. "I was born in the Sanus Highlands over two thousand years ago. When I was a child my village was attack by raiders who then took the survivors across the desert and sold us into slave labor. When I was eighteen I was bought by a man who made me into a gladiator. I fought for two years until I was one fight away from my freedom. I died during the fight, but then I came back. From that day forward I was unable to grow old, unable to grow sick, and unable to die. I am (Y/N) (L/N), the Highlander, and I am Immortal."
