Chapter 21: Prelude to the May Cup
The Gummi Ship arrives back to Traverse Town. Sora and the gang ran all the way to Mumbo's House and knocks on the door. Mumbo's voice could be heard.
Mumbo: Coming! Coming!
He opens the door and saw the trio.
Mumbo: Sora, what a surprise!
Sora: Hello, Mumbo. Is Wumba here?
Mumbo: As matter of fact, yes. Wumba is here in Mumbo's House.
He leads Sora and the gang to where Wumba was. She notices the trio.
Wumba: Hello, boy with key. Do you need Wumba's help?
Sora: Yes, we came with a new Summon Gem.
He brings out the Dino Egg and shows it to Wumba.
Wumba: This little one needs help. Wumba shall release little one in gem.
She chants something weird and taps the Summon Gem with her hands.
Sora: Thank, Wumba. We'll test it out in the training room.
Wumba: You three come to learn magic, right? Train with Mumbo.
Sora: OK. Besides, I think my magic is as good as Plucky's.
Plucky: What? No way! Not in a million years!
Sora: Wanna prove it?
Plucky: You're on!
Mumbo returns to the room.
Mumbo: Is boy ready to practice?
Dizzy: Dizzy ready!
Mumbo brought Sora back to the training room. He uses the Dino Egg and out came a green dinosaur with a white tummy and red spine, saddle, and shoes.
Dinosaur: Where is Yoshi? Yoshi remember helping Mario Bros. fight Bowser before black creatures attack.
Mumbo: This is Yoshi. Mumbo has power to identify people. Dinosaur may be cute, but he can be powerful.
Plucky: Powerful? Oh please! I was expecting a ferocious t-rex and all I see was a cute little dinosaur who wouldn't hurt a fly!
Plucky then laughs really hard. Yoshi walks over to Plucky and uses his long tongue to swallow him. Plucky got turned into an egg.
Plucky: Why is it dark in here?
Sora and Dizzy laughs hard, then walks over to Yoshi.
Sora: Nice to meet you, Yoshi. I'm Sora.
Dizzy: And me Dizzy Devil.
Yoshi: Please to meet you, Sora and Dizzy.
Mumbo: We have training to do.
He uses magic to move the furnitures around.
Sora: Let's see what you can do, Yoshi.
Yoshi uses his long tongue to swallow up the furnitures, turning them into eggs. He then threw his eggs at the furnitures, destroying them. Sora also trains with his magic, using Fira, Blizzara, and Gravity on the furnitures. Yoshi's gem starts to glow as he's about to disappear.
Yoshi: Yoshi glad to meet Sora and Dizzy. See ya!
He returns to his Dino Egg and Plucky got out of Yoshi's egg.
Plucky: What happened?
Sora: You've been turned into an egg.
Plucky: No way!
Dizzy: It true. Yoshi ate Plucky and turn him into egg.
Sora: I think we're done here. Beam us down, Scotty!
Mumbo: Mumbo don't know who Scotty is, but OK.
He teleports the trio back to the second floor. Sora then shows Mumbo the torn pages.
Mumbo: So boy found torn pages of book. Pages are blank, but Mumbo once heard that child of pure heart can unlock story.
Dizzy: What that mean?
Mumbo: Not too sure. Mumbo done research, but never find answer. If all pages are gathered, something bound to happen.
Sora: It's worth a shot. We'll keep our eyes peeled. Thanks for your help. We'll come back later.
Sora and the gang left the house and returns to the Gummi Ship.
Sweetie: Sora, I've heard they're opening up another tournament back at the Ever Grande Conference.
Sora: That's great! We can show everybody what we're made of again!
Plucky: Let's go! Back to the Pokemon World!
The Gummi Ship warps back to the Pokemon World. The ship arrives at the Ever Grande Conference. Sora and the whole gang disembarks. Upon arrival, they saw a crowd of people coming towards them.
Sora: Who are they?
Plucky: They must be my biggest fans.
Plucky walks forward to greet them.
Plucky: Hello, my fans. I am Plucky Duck. I'm...
Suddenly, he got ran over as the people ran towards Sora and Dizzy. Dizzy got surrounded by girls who thinks he's cute.
Dizzy: Yay! Dizzy popular with ladies!
Sora: We like to give you our autographs, but we have a tournament to compete in.
Sora and Dizzy went pass the crown and picks up Plucky who got trampled. They went towards the stadium where they met Ash, Pikachu, May, and Skitty.
Sora: Hey, it's Ash and May!
Ash: Hi Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy!
Pikachu: Pika!
Plucky: Hi, guys! how are you doing?
May: We're doing great! How about you?
Dizzy: We fine.
Ash: If I recall correctly, you've all came here for a tournament.
Sora: That's right. Who are we going up against?
May: You're gonna participate in the May Cup. I'm gonna participate in that tournament.
Ash: There are some new people who came here too. They are called the Digidestined.
Sora: The Digidestined are here too?
May: So you've met them?
Sora: I helped save their world from Myotismon.
Ash: That's great. I've heard they are split into two groups. I've befriended one of them named Tai. He has a partner that looks like Charmander.
May: And I've befriended a girl named Sora.
Plucky: Of course you're friends with Sora. He's right here.
May: No, I mean the other Sora. The one who has a partner that reminds me of Torchic.
Sora: Do you mean Agumon and Biyomon?
Ash: We've also had a bunch of hamsters who escaped their world.
Dizzy: You mean Ham-Hams?
May: You know them too?
Sora: We've met them not too long ago.
Sweetie: Alright! Now I can see Hamtaro and Bijou again!
Ash: Well, it looks like you made alot of friends. See you in the tournament.
The two said their good-byes as Sora's group enters the stadium. They went to the lobby where they found the Ham-Hams.
Sneezer: It's the Ham-Hams!
The Ham-Hams turned to see Sora and the rest of the gang.
Hamtaro: Sora, it's good to see you!
Sora: Good to see you Ham-Hams too! How did you escape Sweet Paradise?
Bijou: We all went on Panda's spaceship.
Panda: It was easy for a skilled engineer like me.
Harmony: Now what about Spat?
Sora explains to the Ham-Hams about what happened to Spat.
Oxnard: So he fell into darkness? That was a sad end.
Pepper: Yeah. Even though he's evil, I feel kinda sorry for him.
Plucky: So how did you end up here?
Lapis: A nice old man named Prof. Oak helped us.
Sora: You met Prof. Oak?
Lazuli: Has Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy met Prof. Oak?
Plucky: Of course we have. He made us heroes.
Dizzy: He mean junior heroes.
Plucky:(Sweatdrops)Don't remind me, Dizzy.
Howdy: Junior heroes? That's funny! I guess that makes him a senior hero! Get it? Because he's a senior!
He laughs while everybody else sweatdrops.
Dexter: Even a junior comedian wouldn't make those awful jokes.
Boss: Anyway, you helped us, Sora. Sorry we couldn't give you something in return.
Harmony: That's OK. I've got something for him. Here you go, Sora.
She swings her rod and gave Sora a Keychain. It looks like a sunflower seed
Sora: What's this?
Harmony: It's called Sunflower Power. It should go great with your Keyblade.
Sora: OK, let's try it.
He replaces his old Keychain with the new one. The Keyblade changes shape again. It now has a sunflower for a tooth.
Sora: Wow! That's pretty cool! Thanks, Harmony.
Harmony: No problem.
Suddenly, Prof. Oak, Brock, and Max arrives.
Oak: Sora, glad you made it!
Sora: Hi, Professor! Where's Ash and May?
Brock: They were talking with the Digidestined. They'll be back later. Anyways, I've heard that a friend of yours is entering.
Sora: Riku?
Max: Not quite. Another man who knows you. His name is Leon.
Sora, Plucky, & Dizzy: Leon?
Oak: A young girl named Yuffie is entering too.
Plucky: So both Leon and Yuffie are entering the tournament?
Sora: Perfect! I have a score to settle with Leon. When I first face him, he went easy on me. But now I'll show him what I'm really made of!
Plucky: You sound much better, Sora.
Oak: The tournament will start tomorrow. I suggest you rest up until then.
Dizzy: Let go to food court! Dizzy hungry!
Sora: Sounds like a great idea!
The gang was walking towards the food court. Along the way, they saw Leon, Aerith, and Yuffie. Brock walks over to Aerith and holds her hands which makes Dizzy angry.
Brock: Hello, Aerith! You're the prettiest girl I've ever met! Would you like to go on a date with me after the tournament?
Max pulls Brock by the ear and walks away.
Max: Oh please. You're not going on a date with anyone.
Sandy: Hehehehehe. He reminds me of my brother. Stan used to flirt with every pretty girl he saw until he hooked up with Pashmina.
Stan: Those were the good old days.
Pashmina looks at him with a crossed face.
Stan:(Sweatdrops)I mean, never mind.
Sora: Leon, long time no see!
Leon: Good to see you too, Sora.
Dizzy: Is Leon participating in tournament too?
Leon: Actually, Yuffie forced me to come here. But when I heard that you've entered the last tournament, I've decided to come and participate. I've went easy on you last time. But now I wanna see how much you've improved.
Sora: I've improved a whole lot. I went through alot of worlds, honing my fighting skills and my magic skills. We'll show off at the arena!
Leon: That's great. Please don't lose along the way.
Aerith: So where are you guys going?
Dizzy: We going to food court. Dizzy hungry.
?: Can we go along too?
Everybody turns to see Ash and May with the Digidestined. Pikachu and Patamon notices the Ham-Hams.
Patamon: Look, Pikachu! It's Hamtaro and the Ham-Hams!
Pikachu: Pika!
Hamtaro: Pikachu! Patamon! Good to see you!
Pikachu and Patamon ran up to the Ham-Hams.
Plucky: You're friends with them?
T.K.: Some of our Digimon befriended some of the Pokemon and Ham-Hams.
Gomamon: I guess this is like a big school reunion. Get it? Reunion?
Howdy: Hahahahaha! You're funny, Gomamon!
Howdy and Gomamon laughs at the joke while everybody else just sweatdrops.
Dexter: These two clowns belong together in a circus.
Tentomon: I couldn't agree with you more.
T.K.: How is Gatomon doing?
Sora: She's doing fine. I'll send her out.
Sora uses the Digivice to release Gatomon. Skitty ran up to greet her.
Gatomon: Hello, little kitty.
Skitty: Nya! Nya!
May: It looks like Skitty made a new friend.
Sora: Let's hurry to the food court! I'm hungry!
Ash: Me too! Let's eat!
Everybody went to the food court and ordered some food. Sora was having a double bacon cheeseburger with fries, Plucky was having some ramen noodles, and Dizzy was having chicken mole enchiladas.
Sora: Man, this cheeseburger is really good! It reminds me of Wendy's Baconator!
Dizzy: Me love chicken mole enchiladas!
Plucky: Slow down, you two. We don't wanna fight with our bellies stuffed.
As Plucky was about to have another bite of his ramen, he notices that it was gone. He then saw the same Munchlax who stole his chili dog.
Plucky: HEY! GET BACK, YOU THIEF!
Plucky starts chasing Munchlax around the place while everyone laughs. Munchlax ran to May.
May: I see that you found my Munchlax.
Plucky: Wait a minute! That thief is your Pokemon?
May: Yep. It followed along after it enjoyed my Pokeblocks.
She turns to her Munchlax.
May: I think you should return that ramen to Plucky.
Munchlax did what she was told and returns the ramen to Plucky. Plucky went back and finished his ramen. After dinner, they went to their hotel room where Prof. Oak made reservations for them and went to bed. They were thinking about who they will fight in the tournament as they go to sleep.
That's it for chapter 21. Sorry we couldn't get any action this chapter. But next time, Sora and his gang will participate in the May Cup.
