Chapter 6: A Night On the Town

Kirishima stares at Bakugo who stares back, the look cold and hard. He wasn't sure if Bakugo wanted to shout or cry. Should he tell Bakugo what Shoto said? Shoto didn't really say anything.

"Hey! What did Shoto say to you?" Bakugo repeats the question.

Kirishima sighs and answers, "He didn't say much. He asked how you were...and I told him we're a couple. He didn't really seem shocked or angry about it, but I honestly couldn't tell. He said that Izuku wants to have a sit-down talk with the three of you. Are you going to do it?"

"...I have nothing to say to Shoto," Bakugo says after a moment.

"But-"

"But nothing," Bakugo sneers at him. "Deku just wants to...he doesn't like this type of confrontation. How did Shoto get your number?"

"He said that Izuku gave it to him,"

"Fuck," Bakugo swears under his breath. "That shitty nerd! He didn't do it on purpose. He probably assumed Shoto wouldn't call you. I wonder why he did call?"

Kirishima clenches his hands on the table and says, "I sort of yelled at him. I should have been more...civil. But the things he's done to you...I couldn't hold back."

"Yeah. I heard." Bakugo sticks his hands in his pockets. "I need to do something in my cabin. Wait here until I come back, then we'll walk along the island. Don't follow me."

Kirishima doesn't follow. He knows what Bakugo is going to do though; he's going to call Shoto. Kirishima can't help but wonder if that would be a good or bad thing for Bakugo to do. He looks back at his phone, pondering if he should text Izuku back or not.

"Pick up, you asshole," Bakugo sneers under his breath as the phone keeps ringing. When it gets to the machine, Bakugo refuses to hang up. "Hey, I know you're there! You just called Kirishima! Pick up the damn phone!" he waits a short moment. "I said, pick up the damn phone! Are you too scared to talk to me?" there is a 'click' as the machine shuts off.

'Hello, Bakugo.'

"What the hell do you think you're doing calling Kirishima? You have no right to call him!"

'...I was simply concerned about you, that's all,' Shoto says. 'Izuku filled me in, but I wanted to hear for myself. You never picked up my calls previously, so, I figured I would try your new boyfriend,'

"He's not my boyfriend!"

'Oh. He seems to think differently. Perhaps you should tell him the truth,'

"...all I said to him is that I'm not quite ready to be back in a relationship just yet, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to be with him. He's actually-" Bakugo stops then. He was going to tell Shoto how well Kirishima treats him, but then he didn't think it was any of Shoto's business. "Forget it. What I do with Kirishima has NOTHING to do with you!"

'Did Izuku tell you that he resigned?'

"He what? Oh, I get it now," Bakugo grits his teeth and squeezes the phone. "That's why you called Kirishima. That's why you're tracking me down. Deku knows you fired me, but I told that nerd not to leave, but obviously, he didn't listen. And all of this your fault!"

'Of course, you would say that,' Shoto says flatly.

"Just leave me alone," He yells. "And leave Deku alone too! You blew your chances! And if you ever approach me again, I'll rip you a new one!" Bakugo hangs up and throws his phone on the sofa. "Fucking asshole!" he kicks over a decorative wooden stool. "Screw him!" Bakugo storms out of the cabin and goes to Kirishima. "Hey! We're going for a walk!" He demands.

Kirishima jumps up from the table. "Okay, okay! I...still need to shower though…"

"Then hurry up!"

"You can...join me," Kirishima asks with a faint blush.

"I just got a shower! But fine!"

Kirishima lets himself be dragged to the tiny bathroom, letting Bakugo take full control. The blonde turns on the water and begins stripping. Kirishima wants to ask Bakugo what happened with Shoto, but he thought it's best not to because of Bakugo's mood. He can already tell when Bakugo is upset. Bakugo will turn his sadness into anger to trick himself and others. Kirishima gives a little smile at that as he removes his clothes to join Bakugo in the narrow stall. There was barely any room to move around. Kirishima pulls Bakugo into an embrace under the pressureless water.

"I'm already making you my boyfriend, even if you're not ready," Kirishima tells him.

Bakugo lets the cool water sprinkle on his face as he rests his chin on Kirishima's shoulder. "I've decided. I am ready," he says. "You've shown me more love and kindness in the last few days than Shoto had our entire relationship. Don't tell anyone I said that!" He bites Kirishima's shoulder to make sure the other understood.

"Ow! Okay, yes! Yes, I know!" Kirishima chuckles and adds, "I already told you, the sweet, mushy side of you is only for MY eyes! That's not selfish of me, is it? If you feel like that's controlling I'll-"

"No. It's fine. No one controls me. I'm always in charge, and I'm the one who calls the shots!"

"Yes, sir!"

It was Bakugo who easily coaxed him into making love again, this time in the shower. The space was so narrow that it was easy to lift the other against the shower wall. Bakugo's cries of pleasure were not as emotional as last night but nonetheless they were music to Kirishima's ears. He was ready to release when Bakugo bopped him on the head, telling him to pull out because the wall was hurting his back. Kirishima reluctantly did so, turning off the water and following the naked Bakugo out of the bathroom, trying to give him a towel. His cock was still aching hard and he had to hold it to keep it from bouncing as they enter the bedroom.

Not caring that they were wet, Kirishima pounces on Bakugo and enters him again, thrusting hard against the other and rocking the headboard against the wall. Kirishima worried that he was being too rough when Bakugo's nails kept raking down his back. But his lover showed no signs of pain or resistance, rather he started to urge the hard lovemaking to continue. Kirishima keeps thrusting, the bed banging louder, and then, there is a loud 'crack' beneath them. The upper left leg of the wooden bed snapped, making the mattress tip downward and the pair fell, still locked together. Bakugo's head hit the side of the end table and the small lamp bounced off Kirishima's head.

"Ow! Motherfucker! STUPID BED! What the-" he feels wet warmth inside his lower half and stares wide-eyed at Kirishima who was beet red. "You managed to cum in me while falling?"

Kirishima only nods with a little whimper.

"Geez, you ARE a newbie! Get out and off of me, you horny mutt!" He winces a bit when Kirishima pulls out too quickly. "We broke the fucking bed! Stupid wood!"

Kirishima, still blushing, managed to smile then starts snickering behind his hands.

"What's so damned funny?"

"We broke the bed!" Kirishima laughs out loud. "That's...oh man! How the hell am I going to tell Kaminari I broke his bed!"

Bakugo rolls his eyes then rubs his head where he hit the end table. "Who cares. I lost my fucking boner. I'm glad YOU got to finish while fucking tumbling to the floor!"

Kirishima's blush had mostly gone away and he flexes his muscles proudly. "That's called talent!"

"Shut up, or I'll kill you!"

The walk around the island was peaceful with the pair holding hands. Bakugo points out various plants, birds, and bugs they pass for Kirishima's camera. Kirishima continuously comments about how knowledgeable Bakugo is to the camera. But when they come to a bank at the lake, they discover something large laying in the mud. Kirishima aims the camera at the massive form, asking Bakugo what it could be, then a tail flops in the water.

"It's a fish," Bakugo answers. "It's stuck in the mud,"

"Whoa, wait a minute? Is that...the big fish, All Might?" Kirishima gets a bit closer and recognizes the hazy blue eyes in a glassy sphere of black. "Holy cow, it is!"

"Let's get him back in the water," Bakugo says, "Put the camera down,"

Kirishima does so but keeps it filming as he approaches the large fish with Bakugo. The fish has no sharp teeth like he thought it would have. All Might looked more like a giant catfish, and now that the fish is on land, it didn't look as big as it did in the water. "Are we able to pick him up?"

"We're going to have to slide him back into the water," Bakugo says, rolling up his sleeves. "He's stuck in the mud."

"How did he get up here in the first place?"

"Not sure, but we've got to get him back in the water or he'll die!"

Kirishima follows Bakugo, slicking his hands under the wet, smooth belly. "How do you know it's a boy?"

"I just know!" Bakugo hisses at him. "Now, come on! Help me turn him around!"

Kirishima grunts and grits his teeth as both he and Bakugo struggle to move the heavy fish. All Might doesn't put up any resistance, but he doesn't help, either. Bakugo tells Kirishima to push from the back while he takes the head. Bakugo wraps his arms around All Might's head and pulls, telling Kirishima to keep pushing. They get All Might mostly in the water, but the large fish doesn't swim away.

"Bakugo, what's wrong with him?" Kirishima asks, stepping into the water.

"I don't know...he might be too weak from being stuck on the bank,"

Kirishima gasps. "What? Oh no, you don't think he-"

"He can't," Bakugo glares at the redhead. "This fish is a legend in this lake! Get moving you giant bucket of shit scales!" He yells at the fish, pushing him more into the water. "Come on, move! I SAID MOVE!"

"Bakugo…" Kirishima was just about to tell Bakugo they should leave the fish alone when the tail flops viciously on the muddy bank, startling them both. All Might wiggles back into the water, disappearing into the darkness. Kirishima lets out a 'whoop' of victory. "Did you see that, Bakugo? He made it!"

Bakugo lets out the breath he was holding. "Yeah...he made it,"

"We did a good thing, Bakugo," Kirishima puts his arm around Bakugo. "Let's get cleaned up and head into town! I think we deserve a victory drink! My treat!"

Bakugo offered to drive since he knew how to get to the town and where to go. Kirishima was surprised that Bakugo had a regular four-door car, not an expensive sports car of some high-end one. Its color was a deep dark red and the inside was cloth, and very clean. If Bakugo saw his car, he'd get yelled at for the mess. It's not a BIG mess, but he did have some straw wrappers here or there, empty sports' drink bottles and maybe a coffee cup.

"Oh, I like this song," Kirishima says and turns up the volume a bit only to have Bakugo switch the station. "Hey!"

"I have a strict no Alice In Chains policy," he says. "That goes for Nickleback and Blink 182 as well."

Kirishima rolls his eyes and says, "What type of music do you like, then? I like all kinds! I don't have a preference."

Bakugo doesn't answer him but instead changes the XM radio to a station and pumps up the volume.

Kirishima is nearly blown away by the blasting sound of Mastadon. "Are you serious right now?" He shouts over the loud music. Why was he not surprised?

When they get into town, Bakugo had turned down the music and they pull up to a small diner. Kirishima thought it looked quaint and cozy, and the food was probably good. Comfort food. The neon glowing 'open' sign was missing the 'o'. Kirishima checks the specials of the day on a chalkboard.

"Ooo, chipped beef! I'm having THAT!"

"We'll eat here, then go to the bar," Bakugo says, glaring at Kirishima when the redhead holds the door for him.

A waitress seats them and hands out the menus. Kirishima already knew what he wanted but let Bakugo look over the menu. He scoffs when Bakugo says he's going to get something from the 'lite' menu. Kirishima tells him that they should consider this a 'vacation' of sorts and pig out. Bakugo mutters under his breath, silently agreeing with Kirishima and says he'll get a turkey burger instead. Kirishima clears his throat, and Bakugo gives up, saying that he'll have the biscuits in gravy. Kirishima nods approvingly and they put their orders in.

"So, getting back to types of music we like," Kirishima starts. "Since we're a couple now, we should know more about each other. Things we like and don't like,"

Bakugo sips his Diet Coke. "Aren't you supposed to figure that stuff out throughout the relationship?"

"Not necessarily. We have things common. We both like to work out! We like fishing and hiking and swimming. But what kind of movies do you like? I like action and superhero movies!"

"I could have guessed that easily," Bakugo says. "I don't really watch movies all that much. I prefer reading, to be honest."

"Oh? Why's that?"

"I can create the image in my head and make it how I want to see it. Movies just tell you what to see through their eyes, not your own."

Kirishima chuckles. Leave it to Bakugo to want to have FULL control even in books.

"Then, what kind of books do you read?"

"Interesting books. Science, philosophy, physics, biographies, history," He glares when Kirishima makes mock snoring noises. "And when was the last time YOU picked up a non-fiction book?"

"That's not really making an image in your head," Kirishima points out. "That's more...well, it's just stating something. Come on, you have to have read some books that aren't ones for learning?"

"...I do read some historical fiction," Bakugo says. "But that's about it," he stirs his straw in the glass. "When I was younger, I would read horror and suspense novels."

"I like adventure stories about strong heroes fighting evil!" Kirishima says proudly. "You should try them sometime! I have a few recommendations!"

"Maybe later."

Their food comes and the pair continue to talk about their likes and dislikes, Kirishima more than Bakugo. They were different on an intellectual level, but they had many other things in common, little things. It helped that Kirishima isn't as picky about things as Bakugo is. And for someone who wanted to order off the 'lite' menu, Bakugo gobbled up the biscuits in gravy like it was going to escape from his plate. They split a cherry pie for dessert, paid the bill, and left to head to the bar.

The bar was nothing like the diner, though. It had no windows, only steps leading up to a screen door and dozens of neon signs flashing brands of liquor. Kirishima raises a brow at the building, then turns to look at the sign that has the silhouette of a naked woman and a beer bottle.

"Uh, Bakugo? I think this is a strip club."

"It is. It's the only bar in town,"

"Seriously? I don't need to have a victory drink THAT bad,"

Bakugo turns off the car and removes his seatbelt. "What? Are you afraid to go in?"

"Hey, I'm gay, not dead!" he grins, then frowns. "It's just...well...small towns like this, only one bar and one strip club...there's bound to be the most scummiest of scumbag guys in that place. They don't like guys like us around,"

"Pfft. As if that bothers me. Come on, don't be a sissy."

Kirishima sighs and gets out of the car with Bakugo. "I don't think I have any singles on me,"

"You don't have to give the women anything."

"They're still working and deserve SOMETHING," Kirishima says, sticking his hands in his pockets as they go into the bar that smells of smoke and who knows what else. The carpet is an old, dull orange color faded from years of cigarette smoke. Kirishima coughs a little. "Oh man, this place sucks. Bakugo, let's just go back to the island,"

"No. You said you'd buy me a drink, and despite the way this shithole looks, the bartender makes perfect drinks. Let's go,"

Kirishima sighs and follows Bakugo to the bar, trying to keep his eyes anywhere but at the topless women serving booze. "Let's sit at the table in the back," Kirishima offers, pointing to a dark spot of the bar. Bakugo listens to him this time.

Kirishima looks around the dimly lit area, making note of the number of men in plaid shirts or jean vets with bandanas or ballcaps. A topless waitress comes over to take their drink order. Kirishima just orders the house beer while Bakugo rambles off some complicated drink.

"Bakugo, I feel like I can syphilis from just sitting here! Let's just have one drink and then go,"

"I don't want to go back to the island yet," He answers. "I said it's fine, okay? No one is going to bother you here. I won't let them."

"It's just-" he sighs and gives in again, shrugging his shoulders. He might as well make the best of it. He's been in worse places before.

The woman brings their drinks and Kirishima had only one dollar bill to give her, apologizing to her that he didn't have more of them. She only smiles at him and says that he can just give her bigger bills, which makes him sputter out a laugh as he realized she was right.

"Move along, honey," Bakugo tells her. "And put the drinks on our tab,"

"Bakugo, that was a little rude," Although the woman didn't seem to mind nor care about what Bakugo said to her. She's probably used too much worse, he thought.

A few minutes later into their drinks, a different topless waitress comes over and places two mugs of beer at their table.

"Courtesy of those gentlemen over there," She tells them and points to a far table where three rough-looking motorcycle type guys sit, smirking and whispering and chuckling.

Bakugo and Kirishima exchange looks, then Bakugo says, "Take them back. We don't want the drinks."

"Are you sure?" She asks.

"Yeah, we're good," Kirishima smiles at her, trying not to look at her chest.

Bakugo flips the men the bird, and they don't appear to have liked it all that much.

Kirishima looks at the woman and says, "We'll take the check now, miss."

"I'm not done," Bakugo says.

"But I am," it was Kirishima's turn to glare at him. "It looks like you're trying to start trouble," Kirishima smiles and waves at the guys who bought them drinks. "We shouldn't have come here."

Bakugo ignores him, finishing his drink as the waitress brings them the check. Kirishima already has cash and gives it to her, telling her to keep the change. He finishes the last of his beer and ushers Bakugo out of the chair, taking the blonde's hand and guiding him out of the bar. The three bikers followed them with their eyes all the way to the door. Kirishima takes in a gulp of fresh air once they are outside and the sun was just about to set completely.

Bakugo pulls his hand from Kirishima's the moment they are outside. "Why the hell did you make us leave so fast? Don't tell me you're afraid of those leather-wearing fuckers in there?"

"Bakugo, I'm not 'afraid' of those guys," Kirishima says. "But I also don't want to start unnecessary trouble! This is not the kind of place guys like us should go to!"

"What the hell are you so ashamed of?" Bakugo counters angrily. "We deserve to go to any fucking place we want! Why should we have to worry?"

"I-"

"Get in the car!" Bakugo unlocks the doors and they get inside. "Those assholes in there weren't being friendly, I know," he starts up the car. "Those beers they offered us? It's highly likely they were drugged or tampered with."

"See! My point exactly! These smalltime backward towns don't-"

Bakugo slammed his fist on the stirring wheel. "It's guys like you who ruined it for the rest of us!"

"Excuse me?" Kirishima bears his shark teeth at Bakugo. "I got us out of a bad situation!"

"By avoiding hard situations like this, nothing is going to fucking change!"

"I get that! But at the same time, there's no reason to cause any trouble if it can be avoided! You provoked those guys in there! It was completely unnecessary, Bakugo! All you had to do is ignore them and decline the drinks! That's all!"

"And it's assholes like that who get away with murder and rape because of people like you!"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, back it up! I totally get what you're saying, I'm not trying to argue! You're absolutely right! We should all be able to go anywhere we want and not have to worry about feeling 'safe'. I get it! But there's no reason to start trouble, either! I-" Kirishima gives up. "You're very noble, Bakugo, but I don't think you're doing it in a healthy way." he sighs. "I'm sorry I rushed you and snapped like that."

Bakugo puts the car in reverse and they leave the bar. "It's fine," he says softly, pulling the windows down to get in some fresh evening air. "I tend to get...passionate about those sorts of issues. Someone needs to stand up to people like those guys, to show those fuckers that they don't rule the damn world or feel entitled to everything."

Kirishima smiles softly and puts his hand on Bakugo's thigh. "You really do care about others, don't you?"

"Shut up,"

"You know what? You remind me of a badger. Short-tempered and vicious, but cute to look at!"

"Oh, when we get back to the dock, I'm going to push you in the lake for that one!"

Kirishima just laughs and turns on the radio.

Both of them were unaware of the motorcycles following some feet behind.
