Chapter one

I might ship myself back to the island if this keeps up. Rosella thought as Antonio yet again found himself in a senseless argument with his father.

"If you'll excuse me. I have to be in town in an hour." Ro said greatly appreciative of her trips to the village to help people after the hurricane hit the coast.

"Alright Ro but be safe." Antonio walked to her and pulled her into a hug his tired eyes told her better that he was exhausted, and the bad part was they were not even the king and queen yet.

"yes, the last thing we need is for the coronation in a week to be canceled because you're hurt or sick." King Peter was completely missing Antonio's point that Ro was his haven from him. Rosella hugged Antonio back and nodded her head to the king.

This would get exhausting quickly for them if Peter were not careful.

Ro dressed in her pink everyday dress. It flowed down to her ankles but was high enough from the ground so she could walk.

Her life was so different here. Her life would soon revolve around the people she ruled and would be less consumed with what she considered fun and her animals. Also, as far as the plan stated they would not rule here forever, well she would not. Her home was Palladia, and she was the natural born ruler of Palladia meaning she would acquire that throne not Apolonia. This confused Ro. Royal protocol the hard enough here but being the soul ruler of Palladia if they couldn't rule together now that might be the hardest thing she would ever do.

"Are you alright, Ro?" Sagi asked as she walked by.

"I guess I'm alright Sagi." Ro paused, "actually Sagi, I'm not sure how I feel. All these rules and regulations, protocol, and duties it's just so hard. I am not sure I'm up to the task. What's worse is Antonio will be King and I will stay by his side till I am ready to rule palladia then I lose him all over again."

"Ro, what rest in the future rest in tomorrow. You can't worry about things not even set in stone. Time is nothing if not fluid." Sagi was wise beyond even most people.

"I know sagi, it's just so complicated." Ro sighed.

"remember when I told you life if full of choices, some of them good but not always easy." Sagi looked at her.

"yes sagi, why do you ask?" Ro knew he was getting at something.

"This is choice you've made, it was a good choice but it was never going to be easy."

"I know, sagi."

"good, now you don't want to keep your people waiting on the account of talking to me."

"Thank you, sagi"

As Ro left for the village but was quite unsure of her day and how it would go. She walked throught the village it was finally getting back on its feet much to Ro and Antonio's relief. Ro helped where she could but felt like she was missing something.

Not far out of the village a rare group of wanderers set their sites on the village to replenish supplies them much needed.
