Chapter 24: Sora's Dreamland Adventure Part 2
Tiff and Tuff leads the gang down a small hallway in the castle. They arrived at a room and Tiff opens the door. The room was pretty big. It had a mini-dining table, two red couches, and a normal table. Kirby began jumping around the room, looking for food.
?: Tiff? Tuff? Is that you?
The group turns to notice a female creature who wore a long pink dress, has yellow skin, held a fan in her hand, and had green earrings.
Tiff: Hi, mom.
Tiff ran to hug her mother.
Woman: Hello, darling. Are you alright, dear? I heard those creatures were all over Cappy Town.
Tuff: Yeah, but we had help from Kirby and these guys.
Sora's gang enters the room.
Tiff: Guys, this is our mom Lady Like. Mom, this is Sora.
Lady Like: Pleasure to meet you, Sora. I am forever in your debt for protecting my children.
She shook Sora's hands.
Sora: Don't worry about it, mam.
?: Tiff? Tuff? Is that you?
A male creature enters the room. He has yellow skin, wore a buttoned purple shirt, brown pants without legs, purple moustache, and purple hair shaped like a court judge.
Tiff: Daddy!
Man: Tiff! Where have you and your brother been? It's late! You've disobeyed me! Ever since those things attacked, I've been concerned with your safety and yet you were out for too long.
Fololo and Falala flew to Tiff and Tuff's father.
Fololo & Falala: Behold! You stand before the King's Court Official: Sir Ebrum!
Sir Ebrum then looks at Sora's group with a funny look.
Ebrum: Who are these three gents?
Tuff: They're real rocking heroes! They could be cool as Kirby!
Tiff: They helped us fight off those creatures. They're very friendly and have came here recently to Cappy Town.
Ebrum: I've never seen them before. Where are you three from?
Sora: Good question. Plucky was gonna tell you that.
Sora then turns to Plucky.
Sora: Right, Plucky?
Plucky: You're going to regret that, you brat. We...came...from...umm...
He looks around the room, looking for something. He then notices a sign that said Ice Cream Island which is a vacation resort.
Plucky: We came from Ice Cream Island.
Dizzy: Ice Cream? Where?
Kirby ran into the kitchen, holding a spoon upon hearing Plucky saying ice cream.
Ebrum: And what brings you all the way to Cappy Town?
Dizzy: We here to find Keyhole.
Sora & Plucky: Dizzy!
Dizzy: What did Dizzy say?
Lady Like: Keyhole, you say? Is it a special kind of Keyhole?
As they were talking, Kirby walks back in and thought about something.
Tiff: There are many Keyholes here, but what's so important about this one?
Dizzy: Well-
Ebrum: There's no such thing! Especially in this Kingdom!
Tiff: But, daddy...
Ebrum: Young lady, not another word! Until those creatures leave, you and your brother are not allowed to leave the castle! Is that clear?
Tuff: Nice going, sis.
Lady Like: Tuff!
Kirby: Poyo! Poyo!
Tuff: What's the matter, Kirby?
Kirby ran out the door.
Tuff: Uh-oh! If Kirby runs into Dedede, he's in big trouble! Come on, everyone!
Sora and the gang follows Kirby. Ebrum sat in his chair and sighs sadly.
Ebrum: What's wrong with me? Perhaps I'm being too strict. How could one with a good heart become so cruel to his own children? Have I become ill?
Lady Like: Just relax, dear. Perhaps you should take some medicine and then go lie down for a little while.
Ebrum: Perhaps you're right, love. A little rest should do me well.
Fololo: What about the Keyhole they've mentioned? I'm quite curious about it.
Ebrum: That's none of your concerns, Fololo. Have you two been keeping good eyes on my children?
Fololo & Falala: No sir! We mean...yes sir!
Ebrum walks back to bed and falls asleep. Lady Like turns to the twins.
Lady Like: Now that my dear Ebrum is asleep, we can talk about Dedede. What do you have to report?
Fololo: Well, just as you suspected, those creatures do in fact came from him.
Lady Like: I knew it! That troublesome King is up to no good again! I see that Nightmare Enterprise's downfall has taught him nothing!
Falala: Well, what else is new? What should we do, Lady Like?
Lady Like: You two need to stay with Tiff and Tuff for now, just so my dear Ebrum doesn't worry. I'll figure out what to do about the King.
The twins left the room. Meanwhile, Sora and the gang are chasing Kirby down a flight of stairs.
Plucky: He's really fast for a small guy.
Sora: We gotta hurry! He's getting away!
The gang finally reaches the bottom of the castle and stops when Kirby stops at the door behind the corner. Everyone was panting from running down the stairs.
Tuff: Kirby could probably run up to 100 miles.
Tiff: I think I know why Kirby led us down here.
Kirby opens the door and waves his hand, telling everyone to come in. What everyone saw in the next room amazes them. It was a round circular room with alot of shelves and antique items. During the time they were looking around, Sora notices one of the torn pages and grabs it while no one was watching.
Sora: What is this place?
Tiff: This must be where Kirby keeps all of the souvenirs he found from other worlds.
Tuff: How come you never told me about this place?
Plucky: Wait a minute! So you're saying that Kirby's from another world?
Tiff: Yeah. You see, Kirby was assigned to this world and wasn't suppose to arrive for another 200 years. But Dedede summoned a monster here which made Kirby's spaceship respond and Warp Drive.
Plucky: 200 years?
Sora: So that's why he acts like a baby.
Dizzy: How long is 200 years?
Sora: Really long time.
He whispers in Plucky's ears.
Sora:(Whispers)Wouldn't he be meddling in the affairs of other worlds?
Plucky:(Whispers)Not really. Kirby was born and chosen to go to Dreamland. This is just a theory, but I believe that since he's already been living here for a long time, he was considered a resident of Dreamland. Not to mention that we've seen Team Sonic, Team Seiya, and Digidestined participate in the tournaments in the Pokemon World. So he may have bypassed the law. Like all of us, there is a purpose for us being on what world we were born in or chosen to go. Your friend Kairi came from another world and that was it. However, since the three of us are visitors to more than one world, that's where the problem comes in.
Sora: Wow. You've really been thinking this through.
Plucky: Ever since we read that Ansem Report, I guess I was questioning alot of things.
Tuff: What are you two whispering about?
Sora and Plucky turns to Tuff.
Sora: Nothing! Plucky was telling me about that three bean salad he had last night.
Plucky: Yeah! It was bad. I had to go to the bathroom the whole night.
Tiff: Well, I have a secret I would like to share with all of you as well. I've never told anyone this, but one day, I'm going to visit other worlds with Kirby. Ever since he came here, it's been on my mind. I know it sounds crazy, but that's something I wanna do.
Sora: I don't think it's crazy. I used to feel the same way.
Plucky then stomps on Sora's foot.
Sora: OW!
Plucky: Revenge is sweet!
Tuff: Is that an Ice Cream Island tradition?
Tiff: I don't know, but what do you mean used to?
Sora: I mean, I still do. That sounds like fun.
Tiff: I know! Why don't we go after the Keyhole you mentioned earlier? I've seen many cool things before, but this Keyhole sounds like something out of this world.
Plucky: But what about your father? Didn't he say-
Tiff: My father would trust me with his life. I just don't know why he's acting so weird. I'm smart for my age and very mature. It's like my father doesn't understand anymore.
Tuff: Our dad is usually a nice guy. He wouldn't act like that.
Unknown to everyone, Fololo and Falala were watching the whole thing. They turned to each other, nodded, and left.
Tiff: I'm going whether you like it or not, Mr. Plucky.
Dizzy: No shoes, no shirt, no service.
Everyone just looks at him funny.
Sora: Umm...right. Let's get going, guys!
The gang starts to leave the room. Before Sora left, Tiff stops him.
Tiff: Sora, please don't tell dad about this.
Sora: No problem. You can count on me.
The gang left the room. Unknown to everyone, including Fololo and Falala, somebody else was watching them. A big lavender snail named Escargoon.
Escargoon: Those brats are going after the Keyhole, eh? King Dedede would love to hear about this.
He slithers back upstairs to the throne room where King Dedede was sitting in his throne. He was looking at the mirror he was holding.
Dedede: Who's that fine lookin hunk in the mirror? Oh that's right! It's me! You are beautiful and smart! With my plan fallin into place, I'll finally get the respect I deserve. Not even Kirby can stop me.
A little red creature brought in a giant steak. Dedede got up and ran over to the table, sat down, and began eating. Suddenly, Escargoon enters to see Dedede eating.
Escargoon: YOUR MAJESTY!
Dedede: Escargoon, can't you see I'm busy eating?
Escargoon: I'm sorry to interrupt you, but Kirby and those brats are looking for the Keyhole.
Dedede began choking on his steak upon hearing the news.
Escargoon: What's wrong? Snail got your tongue?
Dedede then bonks him with a hammer. He got up and helps Dedede spit the steak out. Dedede then grabs him by the throat.
Dedede: How on earth did they know about the Keyhole?
Escargoon: That key brat is with them, Sire!
Dedede then drops Escargoon and ran out into the balcony. He took his binoculars and looks out. He saw Sora and the gang running out of the castle.
Dedede: So they think they can find the Keyhole? Well, they've got another thing coming to them, because I've got the Heartless on my side. And Tiff is doin her part.
Escargoon: That monster you ordered is making Sir Ebrum look like a heartless man. In my opinion-
Dedede: Nobody wants yer opinion!
He slams the binoculars on Escargoon's head.
Dedede: I need some more of them Heartless and Ebrum is doin his part as well.
He sat down at his throne and pushed a button. One of the walls moved up and a giant T.V. monitor came down. The screen turns on, revealing Ganondorf.
Ganondorf: King Dedede, what do you want this time?
Dedede: Listen, bud! I need some more Heartless, pronto! As soon as I get the Star Rod, I'll be the most powerful thing on Dreamland.
Ganondorf: The only problem with that, King. One with an evil heart cannot pull the Star Rod out of the Fountain of Dreams.
Dedede: You just let me worry about that. That's where Kirby and Tiff comes in.
He laughs maniacally and turns the T.V. off. Back in the dark room, Ganondorf is speaking with a dark figure.
Ganondorf: He's taken the bait. Soon we'll take over Dreamland with the Heartless.
?: Perfect! Kirby, my old foe...Your days are coming to an end!
Both villains laughed evilly. Back with our heroes, they are walking through the fields of Dreamland.
?:(Australian accent)Hi, mates! What are you doin?
Everyone turns around to see an orange and white hamster.
Tiff & Tuff: Rick!
Rick: Hello, Tiff, Tuff, and Kirby. What are you doin?
Tiff: We're off to find a Keyhole.
Rick: A Keyhole, eh?
He then turns to Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy.
Rick: And who are those strange fellas?
Sora: I'm Sora.
Plucky: I'm Plucky Duck.
Dizzy: And me Dizzy Devil.
Rick: Nice to be meetin you, mates. I'm Rick.
Sora: We're off to find the Keyhole.
Rick: Do you mind if I tag along?
Sora: I don't see why not.
Rick joins alongside the gang as they headed for the Green Green part of Dreamland. There, they encountered more Heartless including the Blue Rhapsodies. Kirby swallows one and gains a tiara with icy crystals.
Tiff: Kirby is now Ice Kirby.
Kirby uses his Ice Breath to freeze some Heartless inside ice cubes. He then uses Ice Storm to encase himself in an ice crystal and freeze more Heartless. Sora then uses Strike Raid, which he throws his Keyblade like a boomerang, and Stun Impact, which creates a giant red energy barrier that paralyzes any Heartless in his track. The gang quickly eliminated the remaining Heartless.
Sora: I've never seen anyone like Kirby copy abilities before.
Tiff: Kirby has a ton of different abilities he can use.
Kirby: Poyo!
Dizzy became jealous again.
Dizzy: Dizzy can do way better than Kirby.
The gang ran around Green Green, trying to find the Keyhole. Along the way, they found a chest with five more Pikmin. They wandered around in circles, trying to find the Keyhole.
Plucky: Where is that darn Keyhole?
Sora: That Keyhole could be anywhere in this world.
Tiff: Well, Sora. Did any kind of strange things happen when you look for this Keyhole?
Sora: My Keyblade responds to it when we're close by.
Suddenly, his Keyblade began glowing.
Sora: Hey, my Keyblade is responding!
It points to a forest.
Tuff: It's coming from Whispy Woods!
Rick: Then let's go!
Tiff: Hold on! Whispy Woods can be dangerous if you're not careful. We'll guide you through it.
Plucky: Kid, danger is my middle name. I don't need any help. I'll go in there and find that Keyhole faster than you can say "good night, everybody!"
Dizzy: You made that joke already.
Sora: Come on! Let's go see Whispy Woods!
The gang heads off to see Whispy Woods. As they left, two figures were watching them. They were Fololo and Falala. They turned to each other and nodded. Unknown to them, a mysterious figure was also watching. He wore a blue cape in the back and a white mask over his face.
?:(Mexican accent)We shall fight soon.
He walks away as his cape blew in the wind. Sora's group arrives at the entrance to Whispy Woods where they meet a purple owl.
Owl: Greetings, Tiff, Tuff, Kirby, and Rick. What brings you to Whispy Woods?
Tiff: Hello, Coo. We're looking for something called a Keyhole. Have you seen one?
Coo: Nope, but I saw something strange. It was something of value.
Sora: Whatever it was, where did you see it? We'll take any lead to find the Keyhole.
Coo: It's right by Whispy Woods himself.
Plucky: Wait! There's a guy named Whispy Woods too?
Rick: Well, Whispy Woods is a tree and ruler of the woods.
Plucky: Since when do trees rule over something?
Sora: Plucky, we've been visiting many worlds. Anything is possible.
Plucky: You got a good point there, kid.
Coo: Be careful though. He's been acting strange since the black creatures came. He might strike you when you least expect it.
Dizzy then thinks about something.
Dizzy: Wait a minute. This might be chance to prove to everyone that Dizzy better than Kirby.
He walks forward with a brave look in his eyes.
Dizzy: Dizzy afraid of no tree! Dizzy find item and be back before dinner!
He ran into the woods, leaving everyone baffled.
Sora: Dizzy? I've never seen him act strange before.
Kirby follows Dizzy into the woods.
Tiff: Kirby, come back here! We better go after them!
The kids ran into the woods, leaving a nervous Plucky.
Plucky:(Whimpers)I'll just wait here and admire the beautiful scenery of Dreamland.
Sora came back and grabs Plucky by the back.
Sora: Come on, Mr. Danger!
The group ran through Whispy Woods, calling out their friends name. Coo just sighs and rolls his eyes.
Coo: Kids these days. Always acts, never thinks.
The group finally arrives at the center of the woods where they saw Kirby standing next to a frightened Dizzy. He had his eyes closed and was down on the floor.
Tiff: Thank goodness! They're alright!
She ran to Kirby and hugs him. She turns to see Dizzy shaking.
Tiff: I guess Dizzy got too scared in here, but Kirby was brave enough to help out.
Dizzy: Aww, Dizzy just pretending to be scared. Dizzy did it to keep Kirby entertained because Kirby was scared.
Plucky: Funny, but I noticed that you were the one who was scared.
Dizzy: Was not!
Plucky: Was too!
Sora shook his head and turns to Tiff.
Sora: So where can we find Whispy Woods?
Tiff: He shouldn't be too far from here.
Suddenly, tree roots came out of the ground, surrounding our heroes like a cage. Plucky and Dizzy embraced each other. Sora got his Keyblade out, ready to fight and Kirby joins him.
?: Who dares disturb my woods?
Plucky: Boy, this guy's got more bark than bite. Get it? Bark? Bite?
Sora:(Sweatdrops)And I thought Howdy's jokes were bad.
?: SILENCE!
Plucky jumps into Dizzy's arms screaming.
Tuff: Whispy? Is that you?
?: Who are you? And why have you come here?
The group turns to see a tree with a face looking down at them.
Sora: That must be Whispy Woods.
Tiff: Whispy? Don't you recognize us?
Whispy: The only I recognize is that you're a brat on my territory! And you will all be destroyed!
Sora: Let's take him down!
Tuff: Wait! Whispy may be acting weird, but he's still our friend. Don't hurt him.
Plucky:(Sarcasm)OK, we'll let him pound us into an early grave. That sounds like fun.
Tiff: He doesn't mean it like that. He may be under some sort of spell.
Sora: Then how do we break it?
Sora looks up to notice something glowing on top of Whispy.
Sora: What was that?
Dizzy: Maybe it make Whispy kooky.
Sora: Then I'll go for it! It might be our only chance! You guys distract him!
Tiff: Be careful, Sora!
Sora uses the Dino Egg to release Yoshi. Whispy blew wind out of his mouth which blew the group back a little. He then shook his leaves which caused apples to fall. Yoshi and Kirby ate the apples and spat them back at Whispy. Plucky and Dizzy uses Fira and Spin Attack to hit Whispy. Sora jumps above Whispy and picks up an item that looks like a glowing star.
Sora: Where have I seen this before?
He puts it in his pocket and rejoins his friends, hoping the spell was broken.
Sora: Did it work?
He turns to see Whispy making an evil glare at them.
Sora: I'll take that as a no.
Plucky:(Whimpers)Well, I'm making like a tree and leave. Get it? Tree? Leave?
Everybody just sweatdrops.
Rick: What about Whispy?
Tuff: Forget it! Let's get outta here!
Everybody ran away except Dizzy.
Dizzy: Dizzy no scared! Dizzy big, brave...
He then notices Whispy growling at him, causing him to gulp.
Dizzy:...coward.
He ran through the woods and caught up with his friends. They got out of Whispy Woods and stopped to catch their breath. Coo approaches them.
Coo: Are you alright, children? I could hear you run all the way from the woods.
Tiff: We're fine, Coo. You were right about Whispy. He's been acting weird, just like dad.
Sora: Well, at least I have this.
Sora pulls out the glowing star. Tiff observes it.
Tiff: Where have I seen this before?
Kirby took the star out of her hand and looks at it. He ran away into the fields.
Tuff: Kirby, come back!
The gang chased after Kirby again. Coo was left confused.
Coo: Did I miss something here?
The gang was still chasing Kirby, who was far ahead, leaving everyone behind.
Plucky: Man, this kid should enter the Olympics. Where is he going?
Tiff: I think we're heading back to the castle. Kirby might know what to do with that.
Sora: He's pretty smart for a little guy.
Dizzy grumbles, growing jealous of Kirby again. The gang follows Kirby all the way to the castle.
