Hermione wakes up besides the Great Lake. It's a place she knows well, after going to Hogwarts for six years straight. She's not sure how she got to the lake, because the last thing she remembers is running through the Forest of Dean with Ron and Harry. She feels like she would've remembered going to Hogwarts and taking a nap besides the Great Lake, especially now, when Hogwarts is so different from the way it usually is.
That's another thing — Hogwarts looks just like how Hermione remembers it being. It's only been less than a year since she was at Hogwarts, but she had imagined it being very different. At the very least, she thought there would be Dementors around the grounds, sucking up all the happiness.
"Are you okay?" someone says, appearing in front of Hermione. He's wearing a Slytherin tie and he looks to be around Hermione's own age. Hermione's instantly wary because of his house, which she knows is ridiculous, but she's been on edge for the past few months.
When Hermione doesn't reply, the boy sticks out his hand in front of Hermione. She slowly accepts, still feeling very on guard, but the boy merely lifts her to her feet. She instantly feels a little bit dizzy — maybe her nap was too long.
"What's your name?" Hermione asks, as the boy catches her stumbling on her feet a little bit from the dizziness. "I don't believe we've met."
"I'm Antonin," he replies to her, wrapping an arm around her waist to support her. Hermione should probably go to the Hospital Wing if she's at Hogwarts because she's honestly not feeling too well, but she's enjoying talking to Antonin. "And I think I would remember meeting you."
"I'm Hermione," Hermione says, letting out a little laugh before she completely falls. Antonin catches her, though, and she feels safe in his arms. She doesn't know why she's here, but she thinks she'll be okay in Antonin's arms.
