Chapter 4: New York Calling
Alexis groaned when she heard her phone ringing, she reached for it and nearly dropped it.
Once she got it she looked at the screen in surprise seeing who was calling. She answered in confusion "Betty? Is everything ok? It's like 5:30 in the morning. Aren't you still in London?"
"Yes, Alexis, I'm so sorry to call you so early, but I kind of need a favor, please."
"Alright… what's going on?"
"Um… I need to get to New York as quickly as possible!"
Alexis smirked "oh, you do now?"
Betty blushed "yes, ok! I miss Daniel and Isabelle like crazy! Please! consider it your birthday present to me."
Alexis laughed "Fine. I can have a plane ready in 30 minutes, sound good?"
Betty beamed "yes! Ahh! Thank you, Alexis! I owe you one!"
"Yah, Yah, have fun!" She laughed knowing how crazy for each other her brother and sister-in-law were.
"Oh, I will!"
Alexis laughed, "ok. bye sis!"
Betty smiled. "Bye, thanks again!" Betty rushed her packing, not caring about double and triple checking her things like she normally did. She went into her closet and took out the box that Christina had sent her in the mail.
She picked the note, and read it, laughing, so glad she had her as a friend.
Happy birthday, Betty! You are going to love my present!

Betty opened the box, and smirked as she pulled out the beautiful breathtaking garment that she knew Daniel was going to go absolutely crazy when he saw her in it.
She bit her lip, thankful for Christina's more flirty and 'dirty' mind. It was definitely coming in handy.
She picked out her phone once she got dressed, the seductive garment underneath, and sent a text to her dear Scottish friend.
Christina, did I tell you how much I love you?
On my way to NY for the day.
Guess what I'll be wearing underneath my coat to surprise my husband?
I will definitely be having a 'blasted hot time'. ;)
She giggled, quickly finishing up and grabbing her bag, then locked up, so excited to be doing something a bit more spontaneous. She was usually planning everything in detail, but every once in a while she quite enjoyed being spontaneous, especially something that would make her husband or daughter smile.
Exactly 30 minutes later, she boarded the private jet Alexis arranged for her, feeling so grateful that she was even related to someone with a jet at the moment.
She took a deep breath as she settled into her seat, having the whole plane to herself. She quickly sent an email to Clara informing her that she was taking her up on her offer to take a day off, but added an extra half day for travel.
"Good morning Ms Betty, I'm Carlton, and I'll be your pilot to New York"
Betty smiled "Good morning Mr Carlton, thank you so much for being here on such quick notice."
He tipped his hat "My pleasure. I enjoy doing things on a whim and am a morning person."
Betty laughed "well, that's great because this is very unusual for me. I love to plan things, but decided at the very last minute to surprise my husband and daughter by coming home for a day."
He smiled kindly, "Then it is my honor and duty to get you to them safely"
Betty beamed "thank you"
Within ten more minutes, after Carlton had shown her where refreshments and snacks were and anything else she might need, he went to his cabin and she saw the runway speed by as the plane started moving.
She took a breath, saying a quick prayer, and smiled at the thought of seeing Daniel and Isabelle. She was always amazed that she and Daniel created a beautiful life together and had their sweet girl to bring so much light and joy into their lives.
She was so excited to surprise them, and she couldn't wait to see her sexy husband. How was she so lucky to have such a charming, incredibly sexy and amazingly sweet husband? Her Daniel.
Her mind drifted to their sexy phone call from earlier.
She blushed, her heart skipping, and stomach in flutters at the sound of his voice.
Once the plane had lifted off and was comfortably in the air, she took out her laptop and decided to get some work done to make up for her day off, and mostly to distract her from fantasizing about Daniel.
5 and a half hours later, the plane had landed and she was helped off by Carlton. 'Thank you so much Mr Carlton. Will you be taking me back to London, too?"
He nodded "That I will Ms Betty. Ms Meade has kindly arranged for my stay, so whenever you are ready just give me a call, and we'll be on our way" he held out his card to her.
Betty smiled "great! Thank you. Have a nice time."
He smiled "likewise, I'm sure your family will be so delighted to see you."
Betty nodded, her eyes getting glossy "mhm, I can't wait to see them. Thanks again"
Betty got her things and got into a waiting cab. After a few minutes she checked her phone, laughing to see Christina's text.

Betty blushed, feeling butterflies. She missed Daniel so much and couldn't wait to see those charming eyes and that sexy smile of his.
Fifteen or so minutes later, as soon as the cab pulled up she quickly paid and got her things eagerly. Her heart was actually racing.
She'd never really done anything like this before, but knew that she was going to be so much happier and Daniel and Isabelle were going to be so excited to see her, even if it was for a short time.
She picked out her phone and beamed as she sent the call.
