The next world will be a Megaman world. If you're a Megaman fan, you're gonna love this chapter.
Chapter 28: Robot Rumble in Megaland Part 1
After 30 minutes have passed, the Gummi Ship arrives to the next world. The world looks like a futuristic city with robots in it. On the outskirt of the city is a giant castle with a skull on it.
Sora: Whoa! Is this the future? This place is unreal!
Sweetie: It's called Megaland. This world has advanced technology far beyond any other world. There are alot of robots in that world.
Sneezer: There may be a Keyhole somewhere, but you'll need to disguise yourselves as robots.
Plucky: No problem. Leave it to me.
Sora: NO! No...no...nobody knows what they wear.
Everybody looks at him funny.
Plucky: What's the matter with you, kid? Does it have anything to do with your dream? I haven't screwed up once and the dress thing was a joke.
Sora: I know, but in the dream, you turned us into ramen and ate me.
Plucky: Oh, Sora. I love ramen, but I would never eat you if you were ramen. Don't worry about it. Let's go and have some fun.
Sora: You're right, Plucky. Let's go then!
The Gummi Ship departs for the world.
World: Megaland
Megaland has skyscrapers farther than the eyes could see. In this world, technology and science has been far more developed than any other world. Traffic control is done by robots and people now use flying cars. Sora's group arrives at the entrance to the city, wearing their disguises. Unlike Dreamland, they remained in their normal states, but wore robot suits. Sora wore a red suit and helmet with dark red gloves, boots, and trunks. Plucky wore a light green suit and helmet with dark green gloves, boots, and trunks. Dizzy wore a purple suit and helmet with dark purple gloves and boots.
Sora: You did a good job, Plucky. Do you think we can pull this off?
Plucky: We got away with it in Dreamland, so I think we can pull this off. Well, almost got away with it, but that's because Ebrum got lucky. If we blend in with the other robots, we'll be fine.
Dizzy: Dizzy have bad feeling about this.
He could see a new type of Heartless called Robo Knights. They are blue robotic knight-like Heartless with swords and shields. Sora took his Keyblade out, but quickly notices that the Heartless weren't fighting or moving. Sora approaches one and slowly puts his Keyblade up towards it.
Plucky: You know what they say, kid. Curiosity killed the cat.
Sora ignores Plucky's joke and taps the Heartless with his Keyblade and it didn't flinch.
Sora: That's weird. I wonder why it didn't attack.
Dizzy: Maybe it got tired of Dizzy kicking butt.
Plucky: I wouldn't assume anything yet, Dizzy. There must be an explanation for all this. I just don't know what it is.
The trio walks to the center of the city and notices that there's a crowd. They went up there and saw a bulky green robot with red eyes, a white mouth plate, and yellow body parts on it's shoulders and lower body. It is holding a megaphone
Robot: Ladies and gentlemen! I give you the hero of Megaland, the Blue Bomber himself, MEGAMAN!
As soon as the name was announced, the Robo Knights formed two lines parallel to each other which were far apart. Somebody teleports in front of the cheering crowd. It was a boy robot who wears a blue suit and helmet and dark blue gloves, boots, and trunks. Next to him was a red dog robot, a black robot with red flat-head and feet, and a blue bird robot. He waves to the cheering crowd.
Sora: Did you see that, guys? The Heartless knew how to make a formation around that robot. Maybe Megaman has something to do with the Heartless. Let's keep an eye on him.
Dizzy: OK.
The gang follows close behind to check on Megaman, but keep their distance to make sure he doesn't see them.
Robot: Very impressive, Megaman. But I'm sure I can do just as good as you.
Megaman: Thanks for your comment, Auto. But I do agree with one thing. Those Robo Knights still need work on their movements. After all, it was my idea to come up with this year's robot festival when I discovered them.
Auto: Sometimes you can be a show off. And you had to have all the other Robot Masters help out.
Megaman: I usually don't ask for help, but I wanted to perfect my performance. Maybe I should consult Dr. Light.
He then went to a house in the outskirts of the city when he turns back to Auto.
Megaman: While I go see the Doctor, you get started on your part of the festival.
Auto: OK, I'll go attend to the decorations.
As Megaman walks towards the house, Sora and the gang decides to follow him. Along the way, they found a chest containing five more Pikmin. They followed Megaman to the house and entered it. Inside the lab was an old man in his 60s. He has a Santa-like white hair and beard, wears a white lab coat, and red pants. Megaman was talking to him.
Megaman: Are you sure your guidance system is working, Dr. Light? Maybe it was damaged from an explosion that happened earlier. It may have caused something to go haywire.
Dr. Light: That's impossible! My devices are always perfect. I had 40 years of experience in the fields of robotic science and I have never failed.
Megaman: Then what about the explosion that happened earlier?
Dr. Light: I was baking a cake when I set my oven on a little too high.
Megaman: Oh, I see. Maybe there's another way to make them work. What are they called again?
Dr. Light: After doing some research, I have discovered that they're called Heartless.
Megaman: I have an idea! They're Heartless because they don't have hearts, right? If we give them hearts, maybe they would obey.
Dr. Light: We can make a heart ourselves. Just imagine, if I could pull that off, we could revolutionize the field of medical science. I'd be given a Nobel Prize in Medicine. I have the tools necessary to do it.
He went to the closet and pulls out a box.
Dr. Light: This box contains all the ingredients needed to make a heart. I've always wanted to do it, but I'm always busy with robotics. Now I can realize my dream.
Megaman: Then let's get started!
Dr. Light: But first, we need a key for this lock.
Sora turns to his group.
Sora: So these guys are using the Heartless for their festival. I'm gonna help them unlock that box.
Plucky: Bad idea, kid. First of all, we'd be meddling again. Secondly, The Heartless seemed to be connected to each other. If these guys give them hearts, who knows what might happen.
Sora: Come on, Plucky. Nothing will go wrong. If they succeed, we won't have to fight the Heartless. Besides, I wanna see the Heartless dance.
Plucky: Well, it might be entertaining. But then again, I shudder at the thought of the Heartless dancing.
Sora walks up to Megaman and Dr. Light. The two turned to him.
Dr. Light: Who are you? How did you get in my house?
Sora: The door isn't locked.
Dr. Light: Oh, I can't believe I forgot to lock the door.
Sora: I can help you with your lock problem.
Dr. Light: You'll help us?
Sora: Sure. I'll show you what my Keyblade can do.
He took out his Keyblade and points it to the lock. He fires a beam at it which unlocks the box. The robot and scientist were shocked upon seeing this happen.
Dr. Light: Wow! He actually unlocked it.
Dizzy: Dizzy wanna see Heartless dance too.
Megaman: Amazing! Thanks for the help. What's your name again?
Sora: I'm Sora.
Megaman: Thanks, Sora. How would you and your friends like to be part of this year's robot festival? There's free food too.
Dizzy: Dizzy like free food!
Plucky: Take it easy, Dizzy!
Sora: That sounds like fun. We'll go too. But there's one thing I wanna ask you. Why are the Heartless here?
Megaman: They came to our city not too long ago. I was interested about how they took on the form of robots. The problem is that I can't get them to dance with me. With Dr. Light's help, we can make the Heartless understand us and even I'll admit, he's a genius.
Dr. Light: I'm flattered, but let's continue anyways. I'm sure our guests can help us too. This next part might be a little disturbing, so you guys might wanna look the other way for a few minutes. Working on a heart is a bit missy.
Plucky: Yeah! I just had breakfast too and I don't wanna throw it all up.
Dr. Light: You can read my medical book. But please don't rip out any pages.
The trio looks at the medical book with Megaman. One of the pages look strange in the book, so Megaman lets Sora have it. It was another page for Mumbo's book. After a few minutes of reading, Dr. Light calls the trio back and they turned around to see the heart on the table.
Sora: So that's what a real heart looks like? That's so cool!
Dr. Light: It's almost finished. Now we need a few more ingredients for the heart. They will be transferred into the heart through magnetic electric waves. Could you guys check inside my closet?
Sora, Megaman, Plucky, and Dizzy did as they were told and went inside the closet to find the ingredients they need. When they were done, they placed the ingredients on the table.
Megaman: These are the ingredients needed to make a heart. A frog will represent pulse and emotion. A spider will represent terror and fear. And two snakes tied in a circle represents hope and despair. If we mix them all together, we would have a heart.
Dr. Light walks over to a lever and pulls it down. Electricity came out of the machine and zaps the Heartless, the heart, and the ingredients. The group waits to see what will happen. The Heartless moves up for a moment, but then lays back down and the machine stops.
Dr. Light: It didn't work!
Plucky: Well, there goes the festival.
Dr. Light: Not yet. I think we're missing some ingredients. Luckily, I have a memory jar for this moment.
He went back to the closet and gasps upon what he saw.
Dr. Light: Oh no! The jar's empty!
Megaman: What?
Dr. Light: I forgot that I used it on my last experiment.
Megaman: Can you get another one?
Dr. Light: Of course I can. Megaman, can you get Roll for me? She might have the memory we need.
Megaman: Right away, sir!
He turns to Sora and the gang.
Megaman: Sora, would you like to come along?
Sora: Sure, why not?
Plucky: Why not? Because we would get in trouble, that's why.
Sora's group and Megaman went back to the city. On their way back, they hear Auto crying for help.
Auto: Megaman! Where are you? We have a big problem!
The four quickly made their way to the robot who was panicking.
Megaman: What's going on, Auto?
Auto: While you were away, the Heartless went completely outta control! We can't stop them!
Plucky turns to Sora.
Plucky: I knew it! You're meddling got us into trouble already!
Sora: Listen, Plucky! We can't worry about that now! You sound like Donald Duck when you get into one of your tantrums! The Heartless are back to their evil selves and are running amuck! But how are they acting so violent now?
Megaman: Maybe our experiment triggered something. We'll take care the Heartless. You have nothing to worry about.
Auto: Good luck, Megaman.
Sora, Megaman, and the rest of the gang went after the Heartless. Megaman uses his Mega Buster to take out some of them. He even uses the charged up version called the Super Mega Buster, taking out a bunch of them. Sora clashes with the Robo Knights and took them out. After taking out the Heartless, Sora realizes something.
Sora: How are we suppose to find Roll in this big city?
Megaman: I know alot about this city, but it would take a while to find her.
Suddenly, everyone hears a whistle.
Dizzy: What that sound?
Megaman: I know that whistle. It's Protoman!
Somebody teleports in front of them. It was another boy robot with a gray suit, red helmet with a black visor, red gloves, boots, and trunks, yellow scarf, and a big white shield. The robot was called Protoman.
Protoman: I heard that you need the memory ingredient for your experiment, brother.
Sora, Plucky, & Dizzy: BROTHER?
Protoman: You three must be travelers. Me and Megaman were both created by Dr. Light, but I ran away from home a long time ago.
Megaman: Protoman, have you seen Roll?
Protoman: If your looking for her, she's in the city park.
Megaman: Thanks, Protoman. Let's go, everyone!
Sora: Right behind you, Megaman!
Protoman teleports away. The gang proceeds to the park, wiping out Heartless along the way. They finally arrived at the park.
Sora: So this must be the park.
Megaman turns to his robot dog.
Megaman: Rush, can you find Roll for me?
Rush barks and activates his radar. After scanning the radar, Rush ran to the tree his radar was pointing to and everybody follows him. There, they found a girl robot with yellow hair and a ponytail, wearing a red dress, and red boots. Next to her was a green cat robot. She turns around and saw Megaman.
Megaman: Roll!
Roll: Megaman, is something wrong?
Megaman: No, everything's fine. We're going to have the best robot festival this year. All we need now is the memory ingredient.
Roll: "Memory?" You mean this?
She is holding some kind of blue flower.
Sora: What is that?
Roll: This is a forget-me-not. Tango and I have been collecting flowers.
Megaman: That's perfect! We need that for our experiment!
Roll: You're working on an experiment?
Megaman: That's right. Dr. Light is working on a heart. All we need is a memory.
Roll: I can't, Megaman. I have a bad feeling about this. What if the experiment goes wrong?
Megaman: Don't worry. Dr. Light can't screw this up. Once we give the Heartless a heart, they'll dance just like I wish.
Roll looks down, thinking about this.
Megaman: Don't worry. You're gonna love it.
Roll: OK, if you say so.
She gave the forget-me-not to Megaman.
Megaman: Thanks, Roll.
He turns to Sora's group.
Megaman: Come on, Sora. Let's get back to Dr. Light.
Sora: Right!
Sora, Megaman, and the rest of the gang left the park. Roll was still there with her cat.
Roll: Come on, Tango. Let's follow them.
Tango meows as they followed Sora and Megaman. Unknown to everybody, four other robots were listening. One robot was a red robot with a yellow v-shaped horn on his forehead. Another robot was a blue ninja-like robot with a shuriken on his forehead. The last robot was a black robot with a strange black helmet almost styled like a pharaoh. He has a purple wolf robot besides him.
Blue Robot: Did you hear that?
Red Robot: I sure did. They're working on a heart.
He turns to the Black Robot.
Red Robot: What should we do, Bass?
Bass: Don't you get it? Isn't it obvious?
Blue Robot: Yeah. We tell Dr. Wily.
The three robots laughed evilly. Back to our heroes, they are returning to Dr. Light's Lab, fighting Heartless along the way. They returned to Dr. Light's Lab and gave him the forget-me-not.
Dr. Light: Yes! This is the memory ingredient.
Megaman: Now can we start?
Dr. Light: Not yet. To perfect it, we need one more ingredient.
Plucky: What's that?
Dr. Light: We need the "surprise" ingredient. I think Auto has it. He's at his shop.
Megaman: Let's go, guys! To Auto's Shop!
The gang left for Auto's Shop. Meanwhile, back to the three robots, they are speaking to Dr. Wily.
Wily: Hahahahaha! So they're making a heart?
Bass: Yes, Dr. Wily. They're making a heart for the Heartless.
Wily: Works for me! If I get my hands on that heart, I could become more powerful. I'll be able to take over all of Megaland. Not even Megaman and that Keyblade brat can stop me. Bass, Quickman, Shadowman, get me that heart!
Bass: As you wish, Doctor.
Wily laughs evilly while the three robots left the base. Back to our heroes, they returned to the city and went to Auto's Shop. The shop looks kinda like the flat-head robot. They entered the shop and meet Auto.
Auto: Ahh, Megaman! Welcome to my shop! Did you come here to buy an Energy Tank?
Megaman: Nope, I came here for the surprise ingredient for the experiment.
Auto: So Dr. Light is working on another experiment. I'll give you the ingredient if you play a little game.
Megaman: What's that?
Auto: You'll have to play a memory game. If you win, the item is yours.
Dizzy: And what if we lose?
Auto: You'll just have to start over then. The following targets will flash in a certain order and you need to repeat that order.
Sora: We're ready.
Auto: OK! Ready? GO!
The targets which looks like your average red and white target flashed in a specific order. Sora's group memorizes the order and picks the correct order. Auto claps his hands.
Auto: Congratulations! The prize is yours!
Sora walks over to Auto who gave him a jack-in-the-box.
Sora: So this is the surprise ingredient?
Auto: Correct. You can now complete your experiment.
Megaman: Thanks, Auto. Let's go back to Dr. Light.
The gang left Auto's Shop and heads back to Dr. Light's Lab.
