Chapter 29: Robot Rumble in Megaland Part 2
The gang returns back to Dr. Light's Lab where they meet Roll and Dr. Light. They gave the last ingredient to Dr. Light.
Dr. Light: Yes. Now the heart should be complete.
Plucky: About time!
Dr. Light took the toy and adds it to the line up of the other ingredients.
Dr. Light: This time, it should work.
He picks up the heart. Before he was about to give it to the Heartless, Roll grabs his arm.
Roll: Dr. Light! Are you sure this is a good idea?
Dr. Light: Don't worry, Roll. I'm certain that nothing could go wrong.
Just as he was about to give the heart to the Heartless, some shurikens came flying through the room which surprised the doctor, he threw it out to the door. The heart lands in the hands of Bass. Everyone turns to see Bass, Quickman, and Shadowman.
Bass: Thanks for the heart! See ya later, losers!
The three robots ran away. Roll ran to Dr. Light.
Roll: Are you OK, Doctor?
Dr. Light: I'm fine. Those robots stole my heart! I was about to change the world of medicine and now it's gone.
Megaman: Those robots are Bass, Quickman, and Shadowman. They are robots created by Dr. Wily. His goal is world domination. He created those robots to destroy me, but I defeat them all the time. We need to get that heart back!
Dr. Light: I'll stay here and make sure nobody steals anything else.
Roll walks up to Megaman and grabs his hand.
Roll: Please be careful, Megaman.
Megaman: I will, Roll. I promise.
Sora: Let's go, everyone!
Sora, Megaman, and the rest of the gang returns back to the city, only to lose the three robots.
Sora: We lost them!
Suddenly, everybody hears a familiar whistle sound. Protoman teleports in front of them.
Everyone: Protoman!
Protoman: I know where they're heading.
Megaman: Where are they going?
Protoman: They're returning to Dr. Wily's Castle.
Plucky: Is that the castle with a giant skull on it?
Protoman: That is correct. You'll need my help if you're gonna get there.
Megaman: Then you can join us, Protoman.
Protoman: I'll help you fight against Wily, but I can't return to Dr. Light.
Protoman joins the group as they are attacked by Heartless. They encountered a new type of Heartless called Jet Robos. They are green robot-like Heartless with jetpacks. Protoman takes out the Heartless with his Proto Buster. Megaman took out the rest with his Black Hole Bomb, which sucks all the remaining Heartless in a black hole. After dealing with the Heartless, the gang hurries to Wily's Castle. Back with Bass' group, they are talking with Wily via the monitor coming from the wolf robot. They are in front of the castle with a giant skull.
Bass: We got the heart, Dr. Wily.
Wily: Good. Now return to my base before Megaman and the key brat follows you.
Bass: Right away, sir! Let's go, Treble!
The wolf robot named Treble growls as the four robots ran back into Wily's Castle. Back with our heroes, they were fighting Heartless along the way to Wily's Castle. They've finally arrived at the front gate.
Sora: So this is Wily's Castle?
Megaman: Yes! I always knew Wily was behind this!
Sora: Let's go stop him!
Plucky: I hope this isn't a trap.
The group enters the castle where they encountered more Heartless. They quickly finished them off and proceeded forward. Along the way, they found a chest which contains five more Pikmin. They proceeded through the castle until they caught up to Bass and the others. Bass threw the heart into the tube.
Bass: That took care of that.
They then turned to see Sora's group.
Shadowman: Oh no! You guys again! When will you fools learn that you've lost?
Quickman: We've already sent the heart to Wily. You can't stop us now!
Megaman: When will you guys learn that you can never beat me? We'll get that heart back!
Bass: Think again! Quickman, Shadowman, Treble, ATTACK!
Megaman takes care of Bass while Sora and Protoman deals with Quickman, Plucky and Dizzy deals with Shadowman, and Rush, Eddie(The flat-head robot.), and Beat(The bird robot.)takes care of Treble. Bass fires his Bass Buster which fires like a machine gun, but Megaman dodges every one of those shots. He then ran up to Bass and did a Mega Upper, doing an uppercut on him. Sora and Protoman are battling Quickman who runs really fast.
Sora: Wow! He's as fast as Sonic!
Quickman threw his Quick Boomerangs which he threw very fast boomerangs at the two. He did some damage to them, but Sora counters with the Strike Raid, damaging him. Plucky and Dizzy are battling Shadowman who clones himself, creating five clones of himself. He and his clones threw their Shadow Blades which are shurikens at the duo, doing some damage to them. Plucky counters with Thundara, which shocks all the Shadowmen, making the clones disappear. Dizzy proceeds to headbutt Shadowman.
Rush, Eddie, and Beat are dealing with Treble who pounces at them and tried to scratch them, but they dodged his claws. Eddie drops a bunch of bombs from his head which blew up on Treble. Beat keeps ramming and pecking on Treble, doing some major damage. Rush finished Treble off with the Rush Bomber, going into his Jet Mode and dropping a bunch of bombs on Treble. Treble was knocked out. Sora and Protoman are still fighting Quickman. Sora uses the Stun Impact to paralyze Quickman while Protoman fires the Crash Bomber on him. The bomb explodes, knocking Quickman out. Plucky uses Blizzara to freeze Shadowman while Dizzy uses his Spin Attack on him. Shadowman was taken out.
Protoman: Now all that's left is Bass.
Sora: Let Megaman take care of him.
Bass threw Metal Blades at Megaman, but Megaman counters with the Mirror Buster which reflects the Metal Blades back at Bass. Bass took heavy damage. Megaman proceeds to finish Bass off with Hard Knuckle which he fires his forearm like a rocket and hits Bass. Bass was defeated.
Bass: OK! ENOUGH! I give up! I can't take it anymore! It's bad enough that we lost to Megaman again. But now with his brother, a key brat, a duck, and a Tasmanian Devil? It's embarrassing!
Megaman: If you tell us where the heart is, we'll spare you.
Bass: OK! We were just following orders from Wily. He told us to steal the heart.
Quickman: It was Shadowman's idea to tell Wily about the heart.
Shadowman: But you guys agreed with me to tell him.
Bass: Well, you should be ashamed of yourself!
Protoman: I knew Wily was behind all of this!
Megaman: Take us to him!
Bass pulls down the lever which opens a hatch down the floor.
Bass: This door leads to the giant machine room where you'll find Wily.
Quickman: Be warned though, he is waiting for you, and I'm pretty sure he has a trap planned.
Shadowman: We're only telling you this, because we wish not to be humiliated by you fools.
Dizzy: That because Dizzy scare people out of their socks.
Plucky: Dizzy, the only thing you scare is yourself.
Dizzy: No way! Dizzy not scared!
He then saw a mirror in the room and growls at it. He got scared and cowers behind Sora.
Dizzy: OK, Dizzy very scary.
Protoman: No time to fool around! We have to get back the heart!
Quickman: But just because we're helping you doesn't mean we're rooting for you down there.
Shadowman: We'll meet again, Megaman. Next time, you won't be so lucky.
Sora: Let's go, guys!
Bass: One more thing. To beat him, you'll have to press a switch while he is standing in a certain area.
Megaman: Thanks, Bass. You guys really aren't all bad.
Sora, Megaman, and the rest of the gang jumps down the tunnel which leads to the bottom of the castle. As they fall down, they saw it was a giant circular room with a generator in the middle. Below them are switches that served some purpose, but no one was sure what. Megaman looks up the room and saw Wily on top of a machine that looks like a blue dinosaur with a white skull with horns on it. Wily was holding the heart.
Plucky: Why does that guy remind me of Eggman? Except that while Eggman has an egg motif, this guy has a skull motif.
Wily: Greetings, gentlemen! I'm glad to see you all came...just to see me destroy you.
Megaman: Wily, give us back that heart or else!
Wily: Or else what? Are you gonna have that kid with the key kill me? I'm not afraid of you clowns. You want the heart? Then come and get it!
He opens his mouth wide open and swallows the heart. Everyone was in disgust.
Dizzy: Dizzy would never eat that.
Sora: Why would you eat that heart?
Wily: Easy. With the heart's power, I can control a wide variety of Heartless. Oh, Heartless! Come to me!
The gang got ready to fight, fearing they might face a large number of Heartless. Suddenly, only two Jet Robos appeared next to Wily.
Wily: That's it?
He then hears Sora's group laugh which made him angry.
Wily: THAT'S IT! Nobody disrespects me like this and gets away with it!
Wily went inside his Wily Machine 9. The machine fires green balls at the heroes who are on the turntable. The turntable starts to spin around. Spikes appeared around the turntable which the group avoids. The gang quickly disposed of the Heartless and dodged the balls coming from the Wily Machine. They manage to knock some balls back at the machine which did some damage. The machine then starts shooting fire from it's mouth. The gang manages to avoid the flames. Sora then saw the colored switches on the ground.
Sora: Hey, guys! Are those the switches Bass told us about?
Protoman: Maybe they will help us reach him if we press them at the right time.
Dizzy: It worth shot!
Sora pressed the switch at the right time they were in front of the Wily Machine. The platform raised them up to the machine. Megaman uses Time Stopper to freeze time on the platform and the machine, so that everyone can attack. Sora and Plucky uses Fira on the machine, Dizzy uses his Spin Attack, Protoman uses the Flame Sword, and Megaman uses the Slash Claw. After doing alot of damage, the machine starts to react.
Wily: What have you done?
The Wily Machine starts exploding and Wily jumps out, bending his knees, and asking for forgiveness.
Wily: Please forgive me!
The gang walks towards him, then something unexpected happened. Wily's head detaches itself from the body with a spring in between.
Sora: What? It's only a dummy!
Suddenly, everyone hears a laugh. They turned to the T.V. monitor in the room and it turned on to reveal the real Wily.
Wily: Hahahahaha! You fools fell for my trap!
Dizzy: Hey, it Dr. Wahwee!
There was a pause over Dizzy's name mispronunciation, then Wily got really mad.
Wily: IT'S DR. WILY, YOU IMBECILE! NOT WAHWEE!
Plucky: Dizzy, you really need to work on your word pronunciations.
Megaman: What do you mean this is a trap?
Suddenly, everybody feels the ground shaking.
Megaman: What was that?
Wily: In a few minutes, this whole base is going to collapse and it will take all of you with it.
He laughs maniacally and the T.V. monitor shuts off.
Sora: We gotta get outta here!
Megaman: Eddie, me and Protoman need Energy Tanks!
Eddie: Two Energy Tanks coming right up!
He opens his top and released two blue cans with the letter E on them and gave them to Megaman and Protoman. They drink their Energy Tanks and got back up.
Megaman: Now Rush! Go into the Super Adapter!
Rush transforms and combines with Megaman. Megaman now becomes a red and white robot with a jetpack. Sora uses the Dino Egg to release Yoshi who then uses the Smash Ball to become a Super Dragon. Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy rode on him. Eddie activates his jet boosters on his feet. Beat carries Protoman. The gang manages to escape the base in time just as it collapses.
Megaman: I guess that heart was a failure after all.
Sora: Well, at least you tried. I'm sure there's always a next year.
Megaman: You're right, Sora. Wily may have gotten away again, but at least we won.
Plucky: Let's head back to Dr. Light's Lab. I've had enough fighting for today.
Suddenly, the ground was shaking again. Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy starts to lose their balance. Megaman and Protoman looks to see a giant robot rise up from the ground. The robot looks like Gutsman, except that it has a blue body with red shoulders, forearms, and helmet. Inside the helmet is Wily. All over the robot are purple globs.
Sora: What is that robot?
Megaman: That's Gamma! It was a robot built by Dr. Light and Wily to maintain world peace.
Protoman: But then Wily stole the robot himself and plans to use it for world domination!
Suddenly, Bass' gang joins in.
Bass: This is terrible! The robot is brimming with the power of darkness!
Quickman: Gamma is drawing power from those dark globs!
Shadowman: We have to destroy those things!
Bass: Treble, let's combine together!
Treble transforms and combines with Bass. Bass is now a purple and black robot with wings. Gamma starts attack everyone by fire an energy beam from it's mouth, but everyone dodges it. Quickman and Shadowman took care of the globs on the lower legs with Quick Boomerang and Shadow Blade. Plucky and Dizzy took care of the globs on the upper legs using Fira, Mega Punch, and Mega Kick on them. Gamma proceeds to slam everyone on the ground with it's forearms, but everyone dodges the attack.
Beat was carrying Protoman as he fires his Proto Buster at the glob on the left forearm. Bass fires his Super Bass Buster which fires larger energy balls at the glob on the right forearm. Sora and Yoshi took care of the glob on the left shoulder with the Super Fire Breath while Megaman took care of the glob on the right shoulder with his Super Rocket Buster which he fires his forearm like the Hard Knuckle. After all of the globs were destroyed, the robot starts shaking.
Wily: NO! CURSE YOU, MEGAMAN!
Gamma then explodes, taking Wily with it. Everybody cheers.
Megaman: I believe that's the last time we'll see Wily.
Dizzy: Hopefully.
Sora looks down at the ground and saw a crystal and an Ansem Report and picks them up. The crystal upgrades Gravity to Gravira. Sora then saw a giant Keyhole shining on the ground before him. He aims his Keyblade into the sky which fires a beam that splits into multiple beams falling to the ground and touching the Keyhole which disappears with a click. Megaman then turns to Bass.
Megaman: Thanks for helping us, Bass.
Bass: Just because we helped you doesn't mean that we're friends.
Quickman: Consider yourself lucky that we helped you out.
Shadowman: We'll let you go for now. But the next we meet, we'll be enemies again.
Bass' gang then ran off. Megaman turns to everyone else.
Megaman: Let's go back to Dr. Light's Lab.
Everybody but Protoman returns to the lab. Dr. Light, Auto, Roll, and Tango greets them.
Dr. Light: Megaman, I'm glad to see that you're alright. What happened to the heart?
Megaman explains to everyone what happened to the heart which left Dr. Light surprised.
Dr. Light: So the heart was a failure in the end.
Roll walks up to Megaman.
Megaman: Roll, I'm sorry for not listening to you.
He looks down, but then Roll holds his hands up with hers.
Roll: Don't feel bad, Rock. We'll come up with a plan for next year's robot festival. And next time, we'll do it together.
Megaman blushes from that comment. He then turns to Sora's gang.
Megaman: I guess we have no choice but to cancel this year's robot festival.
Sora: Aww man. I was looking forward to it.
Dizzy: There goes free food too.
Megaman: I'm sure next year's robot festival will be even better. Here, Sora. I want you to have this.
He gave Sora a Keychain that looks like Megaman himself. Sora replaces his old Keychain with that one and it changes shape again. It now has the Mega Buster with a spark in the end for the tooth.
Megaman: I call it the Robot Master. Take good care of it.
Dr. Light: Emotion, memory...I've had all the necessary ingredients. What else do you need to make a heart? What is a heart? I can't figure it out.
Sora: OK. See you later, Megaman.
Sora and the gang left Megaland and returns to the Gummi Ship back in their original clothes.
Sora: Hey, guys. I'm hungry.
Plucky: So am I. Let's race to the kitchen!
Sora: Sounds like fun. Last one there has to clean the dishes!
Dizzy: OK! On mark, get set...
Sora and Plucky are waiting for Dizzy's signal, but then Dizzy ran ahead, causing both of them to gasp.
Sora & Plucky: Hey! That's cheating!
Sora and Plucky follows Dizzy to the kitchen which made Elder-Ham, Sweetie, and Sneezer laugh. Plucky was the last one to the kitchen which means that he will have to clean the dishes after lunch. After they had their lunch, the Gummi Ship starts to depart.
Sweetie: The next world is west from here. It will-
Plucky: Let me guess. It will take us 30 minutes to get there.
Sweetie: How did you figure that out?
Plucky: I can sense the pattern.
Sora: Well, let's take off!
The Gummi Ship left Megaland and took off to a new world.
That's it for chapter 29. I think I did better with Megaland than I did with Dreamland. Next time, Sora and the gang will head to a new world.
