Chapter 6: Morning Surprise
Betty stared up at the ceiling, her heart racing. She was feeling pure bliss. Her heart felt like it was filled with light. She was so happy to be home, even if it was just for a little while.
She bit her lip, trying to suppress her beaming smile but failed and turned her head to look at Daniel who had been watching her with that smirky charming smile of his.
She squeezed his hand and he lifted them up placing a kiss on her wrist. "I still feel like I dreamed you up" he said, still a little breathless from their passionate reunion.
She turned on her side wrapping her arm around his waist pulling herself closer to him. "Sometimes I feel like our whole life together is a beautiful dream. I love you so much, Daniel."
He hugged her closer to his body. "I love you, Betty. You are my dream come true."
She nodded in agreement, her eyes becoming glossy.
He looked in her eyes, taking her face in his hands and gave her a soft loving kiss.
When he pulled away his smile beamed as he said, "Isabelle is going to be so happy to see you, honey."
Betty's smile sparkled with light as she sat up hugging the sheet to her chest. "I'm so excited to surprise her. I missed my sunlight so much" she started to get up but was surprised when Daniel pulled her back down placing a playful kiss to her neck.
She giggled "Daniel…"
He chuckled "it's 15 minutes until 7. I want to kiss my sexy wife some more before I have to share her with the world"
Betty blushed as he started to slide the sheet down uncovering her body, butterflies coursing through her as he placed teasing kisses down her neck and shoulder.
She wrapped her arms around him pulling him closer and placed a seductive kiss to his jaw, "I love you"
He looked at her with a smile, and slowly took her glasses off, looking into her eyes. "I love you, Betty. I'm so happy you're here. I feel like part of me is missing when you're not around."
"Me too" Her eyes were glossy as she pulled him down for a kiss. They soon got lost in each other, making up for their time apart.
Fifteen minutes later, as Betty was finishing up getting dressed, Daniel's arms wrapped around her waist from behind, making her blush when he whispered in her ear, "babe, you look so hot right now and smell so pretty"
She hugged his arms to her body more, as the comforting and charming scent of him surrounded her. "Mm...and you smell so gorgeous and I love the sound of your voice."
He smiled and placed a kiss to her cheek, then turned her so she was facing him, his eyes gliding over her flirtingly.
He felt so happy to see his sweet Betty, looking as cute and sexy as she was in her flowery pencil skirt that hugged her curves so perfectly and a maroon top that had a bit of a lower neckline that were all making him want her again.
A warm smile cast his face as he wiggled his eyebrows playfully, "My wife is such a sweet hottie"
Betty smiled, trying to suppress her laugh and blush as she trailed her hands down his arms feeling the muscles there, as her own eyes sparkled with flirtation, taking in how darn handsome he was, his blue dress shirt only partially buttoned, sculpting his arms, those blue eyes of his shining with love for her. "and my husband is just way too freaking hot!"
He laughed and hugged her. She sighed as her hands moved to his waist. "I don't know how I'm going to leave you again" she whispered, the sadness in her voice.
He ran his hands softly up and down her back, "Don't worry, my love. I promise, we'll figure something out." Part of him wanted to tell her what he and Isabelle had been planning, but the other part wanted to keep it a surprise.
"Now, come on, and let's go surprise our princess"
Betty moved back a happy smile spreading across her face "yes, I can't wait to see her"
A few minutes later Daniel smiled as he walked into Isabelle's room, and saw his sweet daughter sleeping, hugging her toy bear looking so cute. "Princess…"
She sleepily opened her eyes, "daddy?"
He was trying so hard to keep his smile from beaming, "there's a surprise for you in the kitchen"
She smiled, sitting up, waking up more "a surprise?"
He chuckled, "yep, come with me…" he held his hand out for her and she eagerly took it hopping off her bed. They headed for the kitchen, his excitement building the closer they got. As soon as Isabelle saw what -or rather, who- was waiting for her her eyes lit up as a glittering smile spread across her face.
"Mommy!" She ran over, nearly knocking Betty down, who lifted her off the floor as she returned the hug. "Isabelle! I missed you so much my sunlight"
Isabelle beamed in happiness as Betty let her down, "I missed you sooooo much, mommy! Are you back now?"
Betty held her face placing a kiss, "Just for the day, sweetie. I have to go back tomorrow" Betty bit her lip trying to keep it together, and was grateful that Isabelle said "Then we have to have the best. day. ever!"
Betty hugged her tight, laughing "yes. That is the plan"
Isabelle looked at her with possibly the sweetest smile, her beautiful blue eyes sparkling, then hugged her. "I love you, mommy"
Betty couldn't suppress the tears in her eyes. "I love you more my sweet sunlight. I missed you so much."
Daniel came over and said, "Hey, Betty, let me make a few calls so Isabelle and I are 100% yours today, and why don't we meet your family for lunch later this afternoon?"
She smiled as he placed a kiss to her cheek, "that's a great idea. Come on, Isabelle. Let's get ready. We are going to go to that pretty place you like with all the flowers for breakfast."
Belle's eyes glittered "Oo! I love that place! "
Betty smiled and lifted her "me too" Once they got into her room, Betty let her down "what do you want to wear today, sweetie?"
She ran to her closet and after a minute came over with a dress Christina had made for her that matched her own outfit. Betty smiled, her stomach filled with butterflies, "You want to match me?"
Isabelle nodded, "Uh-huh! You are so pretty, mama."
Betty pulled her into a hug, "thank you my sweet princess. You make my heart glow"
Isabelle pulled away and smiled bright as she said "you make my heart glitter like stars"
Betty laughed, "that sounds so pretty just like you are. Now, let's hurry. I want to spend as much time with you and daddy as possible today."
Isabelle nodded and quickly got changed into the dress, and she finished putting on her shoes, then sat on the edge of her bed, "can you braid my hair, mommy?"
"Ok, sweetie. Do you want me to put a flower in your hair?"
Isabelle nodded happily. Betty found her brush and a flower clip and sat beside her.
Daniel quickly called Hilda to let her know Betty surprised them with a spontaneous visit for the day.
"Wow! Who knew my sister could be so spontaneous? She must have missed you both so much to hop on a plane so fast."
Daniel laughed, "yah, we missed her like crazy, too, but hey, I kind of need your help. Of course I'm thrilled Betty is here but it makes it harder to finalize things, do you think you could-"
"No need to ask, Daniel, luckily I only have one appointment this morning and then I'm free. I'll get Bobby to help, too, just let me know what you need."
"Thanks Hilda, I owe you one"
"Mhm, next time Bobby and I need a date night, you're watching Rosie"
He laughed "deal"
Daniel quickly told Hilda what he had left to do and that they would be at their house in the late afternoon and to let Justin and Ignacio know, too. Once he was done speaking to Hilda he quickly made a few calls to make sure things at Meade were taken care of so he could spend the day with Betty.
Betty finished placing the red flower clip in Isabelle's hair, "voila! I think I did a pretty good job, Isabelle" she took a picture on her phone and showed Isabelle "oo! Mommy, it looks so pretty!"
Betty smiled "yay! I think between your Aunt Hilda and Amanda teaching me to do braids I am getting the hang of it"
Isabelle smiled and hugged her. "Thank you"
"You're welcome, my love. Now, let's go show daddy how cute you look"
Isabelle hopped off her bed taking Betty's hand and leading her out of the room. When they went over to the living room, Daniel had just finished a call. As soon as he saw them he beamed in happinesses "Wow, look at my two beautiful girls. I'm the luckiest guy in the whole world."
He hugged Isabelle as she ran over and said "I look like mommy, today"
He grinned "Yah, you do. You look so pretty, my sweet princess."
When Betty was in front of him, he smiled and lifted her hand to place a kiss.
"Daddy, I'm gonna pick your tie" before he could say anything Isabelle ran off. Betty and Daniel both laughed.
He looked to Betty and grinned, "As if she wasn't like you already with how smart and sweet she is, now she looks just like you." He pulled her close and placed a kiss to her cheek.
She blushed, "not just like me. She's like you, too. She has your beautiful amazing eyes."
He grinned, "yah, my sweet little princess"
Betty smiled, placing her hand to his cheek, "and is so funny and adventurous like you"
Daniel wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer. "We made a pretty amazing kid, huh?"
She nodded, her eyes glossy, "uh-huh, she's our sunshine"
Daniel smiled as he held her face, looking into her eyes, his heart overflowing with love. "I love you, Betty"
Her eyes shined as she looked at him, "I love you" Just as they were about to kiss Isabelle ran back over waving the tie she chose, "here, daddy, you can wear this one. It matches me and mommy"
He chuckled as he took the maroon tie that had small white dots as the pattern. "So, who is going to help put it on"
Isabelle jumped up excitedly "I wanna do it, but I don't know how"
Daniel laughed and Betty took the tie from Daniel, "how about we both do it, Isabelle?"
Isabelle nodded "oo, yay!"
Daniel sat in a chair so Isabelle could reach, while Betty kneeled behind her, her arms wrapping around Isabelle's small frame.
"Alright, ready Isabelle?"
Isabelle nodded as she brought the tie around her dad's neck. Betty placed her hands over Isabelle's and for the next minute she guided her movements to get the tie fixed; all while she did, Daniel's eyes stayed on her, this beyond sweet smile on his face.
Betty blushed, her heart racing and stomach filled with butterflies. Once she and Isabelle finished tying the tie for Daniel, Isabelle cheered "yay, we did it, daddy"
Daniel grinned and hugged her "you did a great job, princess"
When he let go, he stood up and held his hands out for Betty. Her eyes locked on his as she took them. As soon as he pulled her up, he couldn't hold back from wrapping his arms around her and kissing her.
He was always amazed at how much love he had for Betty, each day finding himself deeper in love with her. He knew she felt the same, and when her arms went around him, he could feel all her love flood him. When he pulled away, she looked at him with a dreamy look in her eyes.
He smiled "I love you so much."
She blushed, and smoothed out his tie, "I love you"
He smirked, "does this tie make my eyes pop?"
She giggled as she pulled Isabelle close, "Hmm...I'm not sure, what do you think Isabelle? Does this tie and shirt make daddy's eyes sparkle?"
He chuckled, as Isabelle said "Daddy's eyes always sparkle when he looks at you, mommy"
Betty's eyes shone in surprise at her sweet observation, as she hugged her "that's so sweet."
Daniel grinned "she's not wrong"
Betty bit her lip playfully taking hold of his tie and pulling him to her to place a sweet kiss to his cheek. "I guess so"
Daniel smiled and picked Isabelle "now my two beauties, let's go. We are gonna have the best day ever, right?"
Isabelle smiled brightly "right!"
Betty hooked her arm through Daniel's "I'm already having the best day ever just being here with you"
Daniel smiled, knowing how true that was. Whenever they were together they always felt happy. He was beyond happy that Betty was here. Now he definitely wanted to make sure to return the love and appreciation.
