Back in Traverse Town, Sora will run a few errands and then go to Mumbo's House and bring the torn pages to the book. The book will contain an Animal Crossing world.

Chapter 36 A Storybook Ending Part 1

Sora and the gang returns to Traverse Town. At the First District, they saw the Warner Siblings walking by. They walked up to them.

Sora: Hey, Warners! How are you all doing?

Yakko: Hey, Sora! It's great to see you. We're doing great.

Wakko: We saw your battles at the Ever Grande Conference. There were alot of strong fighters.

Dot: Not to mention all the handsome hunks like Cloud, Leon, and Goku.

Yakko: So what brings you three back to Traverse Town?

Plucky: We have a Navigation Gummi that we need to show to Cid.

Sora: But first, we have a few errands before we go see him. Do you know where the Ham-Hams live?

Wakko: Of course. They're right by the house next to the accessory shop.

Wakko points to the house next to the Accessory Shop.

Sora: OK. Thanks for your help, guys.

Dot: No problem. Be sure to visit our shop sometimes.

Sora: See you later, guys.

Sora waves good-bye to the Warners and went to the house that they told him to go to. He knocks on the door and it opens, revealing Bijou.

Bijou: Bonjour, Sora.

Sora: Hi, Bijou. Do you know where Hamtaro and the rest of the Ham-Hams are?

Bijou: Oui. Zhey're in here. Hamtaro, Sora and his friends are here!

Sora and the gang enters the house. Inside are the Ham-Hams.

Hamtaro: Hamha, Sora! What brings you here?

Sora: Hi, guys! We were wondering what you are all doing here. Did you guys build this house?

Harmony: Nope. Leon helped use find a house. It was a really nice house.

Boss: We don't even know how to repay his kindness.

Maxwell: I heard that you are fighting the Heartless, Sora. We would like to help you out.

Panda: I heard that you three pilot a ship called a Gummi Ship. I've made some schematics for it.

Panda and the rest of the Ham-Hams handed some rolls of paper to Sora.

Sora: Is this for us?

Stan: We don't know how to thank you enough. We'll do anything we can to help you.

Cappy: Be sure to visit us anytime. We'll be glad to help you.

Penelope: Ookwee!

Sora: Thanks for your help, guys. See you all later.

Sora waves good-bye to the Ham-Hams and left the house. The gang went back to the Second District and went to Olimar's house. Upon entering, Olimar and Louie greets them.

Olimar: Hey, Sora!

Sora: Hey, guys! How are you two doing?

Louie: Not very well. We have only three days left.

Olimar: Did you bring back any Pikmin?

Sora: Don't worry, guys. I've brought more of them.

He took the box out of his pocket and opens it, revealing more Pikmin. They walked over and began working on the ship.

Louie: We're very close now. We need only ten more.

Olimar: That's good.

Louie: But we only have three days left until our oxygen supplies run out.

Olimar: That's bad.

Sora: We could double our efforts.

Olimar: That's good.

Plucky: But we may get sidetracked by the Heartless.

Olimar: That's bad.

Sora: We'll beat them so fast, we'll have the Pikmin back in no time.

Olimar: That's good.

Plucky: But they're getting alot stronger, so it may not be that easy.

Olimar: That's bad.

Plucky: Will you stop doing that? This isn't the Simpsons!

Olimar: Sorry. Well, as I promised for bringing us more Pikmin, I'll reward you handsomely. I've also got something special for you.

He gave Sora a bag that contains alot of Gummi Blocks as well as a torn page.

Dizzy: Torn page?

Olimar: Yes. It looks like some kinda collectors item. I have no use for it, but I think you might have.

Sora: Thanks, guys. Let's go see Mumbo and show him the torn pages we found. Maybe we'll find out what kind of story it is.

Plucky:(Whimpers)I hope it's not a horror story.

Olimar: Please, Sora. We're running outta time. If the remaining ten Pikmin aren't found in three days, we'll-

Sora: Don't worry, guys. We'll find the last ten by then. We'll search everywhere and leave no stone unturned.

Olimar: You're a nice guy, Sora. In fact, I'm becoming so emotional, I think I'm gonna cry.

He starts to cry, leaving Louie rolling his eyes.

Louie: We can't thank you enough for all your help, Sora. We're counting on you and your friends.

Sora: OK. Just try not to panic and have faith. I always keep my promise.

Sora said good-bye to the two and left the house. The trio went back to Mumbo's House near the Third District. Inside the house, Wumba is practicing her new magic.

Wumba: Wumba is testing new magic spell. It called frog spell. It turn people into frogs.

Suddenly, As she is concentrating, Sora's group came in.

Sora: Hey, guys!

She then lost her focus and aims her magic at Plucky, turning him into a frog.

Plucky: Oh no! Now I'm a frog!

Wumba: Sorry, duck.

Mumbo: What bring boy here in Mumbo House?

Sora: We found five pieces of the torn pages.

Sora brought out the pages. Wumba uses her magic to return Plucky back to normal.

Mumbo: Very good, boy. Put pages in book and see what happens.

Sora opens up the book and puts the pages in it. All of a sudden, a bright light appears and starts sucking Sora in. Plucky and Dizzy tried to pull Sora back, but the force was too strong and it sucked him in. The book then slams shut and Plucky tried to open it, but it won't budge.

Plucky: Darn it! Why won't this book open?

Mumbo: Book is locked. We need key to open it.

Dizzy: So where key?

Mumbo: Mumbo not know where key for book is. Key may be lost forever.

Dizzy worries about Sora, thinking that his best friend might be lost forever. Plucky turns to Mumbo with confidence.

Plucky: Wanna play poker?

Mumbo: Har! Har! Har! Mumbo play and kick butt.

Plucky: We'll see about that, skull man.

Dizzy: But Sora is stuck in book.

Plucky: I'm sure he'll be alright. I'm sure he'll find a way out.

Wumba: Can Wumba join for game of poker?

Plucky: Sure. The more the merrier.

Inside the storybook, Sora lands on a small pond in a forest. He got out of the water and walks around the forest. He eventually came across a meadow. There was a log in the middle of the meadow and a girl on the log. The girl has red hair with two pigtails and wears a pink dress with white flowers on it. She was sitting on the log, thinking.

Girl: Think, think, think.

Sora walks up to the girl.

Sora: Hi, little girl. Something wrong?

Girl: Nothing. I'm just thinking.

Sora: Oh. Are you lost? Do you need help?

Girl: No. I'm thinking of how to say good-bye to Ai.

Sora: Ai?

Girl: That's me.

Sora: You're Ai?

Ai: Yes, I'm Ai. Who are you?

Sora: I'm Sora.

Ai: Hello, Sora. Have you come to say good-bye to me too?

Sora: No. Why would I do that? We've only just met. Why would you ask that?

Ai: Everyone else have gone away.

Sora: What do you mean?

Ai: We all lived here in the Animal Village.

Sora: Animal Village?

Ai: Yes. We would always play together in the village, forest, and beach. And everyday, I eat my fruits. Just one bite of an apple would taste very good right now. Now everyone is gone.

She looks down in depression.

Ai: All of my friends and my favorite fruit tree too. Maybe they went away while I was napping, or when I was eating my fruits.

She jumps down the log.

Ai: Maybe I should go away somewhere as well. But how do I say good-bye to myself?

She starts thinking again. Then she hears a rumble.

Ai: My tummy is rumbling. I'm getting hungry.

She then walks away. Sora decides to follow her.

World: Animal Village

Sora follows Ai to a house. The house appears to be her home. She walks inside and Sora follows her. Inside the house, Ai was looking at her fruit bowl with a disappointed look.

Ai: Oh no! There's no fruit on the bowl. If only the fruit tree would return...then I could eat all my favorite fruits.

She then got up and left the house without noticing Sora. Sora decides to follow her to see what happens. As he walks out, he saw an old turtle with a long white beard and a cane and wearing a top hat and glasses.

Turtle: Hello, stranger. I am Tortimer. I am the mayor of Animal Village.

Sora: Hello, Tortimer. I like to know what happens next.

Tortimer: Unfortunately, some of the pages were missing, so I can't tell you yet.

Sora: Pages? Am I In a book?

Tortimer: Yes, young man. This is a book. I know you probably have alot of questions that needs to be answered. Well, I'll straighten things out for you. This world is a memory created from the memories of the real Animal Village.

Sora: What do you mean?

Tortimer: The Animal Village was once a real world. But nine years ago, the world was destroyed by a group of dark creatures.

Sora: The Heartless! I'll bet they were responsible.

Tortimer: Indeed. Before all that happened, the Golden Tools of this world, the Golden Axe, Golden Rod, Golden Net, Golden Shovel, Golden Slingshot, and Golden Watering Can used their powers to create a book to carry on the memories of this world. The biggest memory was that day that happened when that girl Ai came to town.

Sora: Now I get it. When the Heartless destroyed this world, this world must have been turned into a book by it's Golden Tools. OK, what can I do to find out what happens to Ai?

Tortimer: Well, if you find all the missing pages, you may find out what happens next.

Sora: Well, I found five pages.

Tortimer: Very good, young man. You have collected all the pages. You may find out what happens to the end.

Sora said good-bye to Tortimer and follows Ai. He tried to find her, but she disappeared. He walks around the forest, trying to find her, only to end up at the fruit tree. The tree was very tall with some fruits and there are bees surrounding the tree. As Sora walks towards the tree, he hears a voice and stops.

?: Hello? Is anyone there?

Sora turns to where the voice was and he saw a log. He saw a female blue cat wearing a dress with pink and purple diamond shapes.

Cat: Ai? Where are you? It's me, Rosie.

She then looks down in sadness.

Rosie: I'm so lonely. And when I'm alone, I get scared.

Sora walks up to her to greet her.

Sora: Hi there.

When Rosie looks and saw Sora, she gasps in horror.

Rosie: Please don't eat me, Bigfoot!

She ran to the tree and hides behind it. Sora tried to chase her around the tree, but she keeps running away. Sora then decides to go around the other way and sneak up from behind her. When she turns around to see Sora, she gasps again.

Sora: Relax. I'm not gonna eat you.

Rosie: I'm sorry. I get scared sometimes.

Sora: Don't be scared. I won't hurt you. You're looking for Ai, right?

Rosie: You know Ai?

Sora: Yeah. What are you doing here?

Rosie: I have something important to give to Ai. Do you know where she is?

Before Sora could respond, they could hear footsteps. Rosie turns around to see Ai coming.

Rosie: Ai, I'm so glad you're here.

She ran over to Ai.

Ai: Hello, Rosie. How are you doing?

Rosie ran up to hug Ai.

Rosie: I'm so glad to see you. I thought you'd gone away. I brought you what you asked for.

She pulls out three balloons and gave them to Ai.

Ai: Thanks, Rosie. Now I shall grab some fruits from the fruit tree. I shall use the balloons to fly like a bee and grab some fruits.

Rosie: But wouldn't the bees be angry if you go near their hives?

Ai then thinks about it, then when she saw Sora approaching, she had an idea.

Ai: Hello, Sora. Could you chase those bees away?

Sora: Why?

Ai: So I can get some fruit.

Sora: Sure, why not?

Ai: Thanks, Sora.

Suddenly, Tortimer appears.

Tortimer: Hello, Ai. Using the balloons to get your fruits, I see. Perhaps I can lend you some advice. Ai can get the fruits from the fruit tree while she floats on the balloons. Be warned, the bees are watching every move she makes. Try to grab the fruits and they will sting the balloons and cause Ai to fall.

Sora: Do you want me to shoo off the bees?

Tortimer: Exactly. Do what you can to keep the bees away from her. Also, the higher she goes, the more fruits she can get.

Sora took the three balloons and wraps them around Ai's waist.

Sora: There, nice and tight. Ready, Ai?

Ai: Ready!

Sora released Ai into the sky and she slowly made her way up collecting the fruits. The bees got mad and tried to sting the balloons. Sora quickly jumps up and swats away the bees while Ai gathers the fruits. At one point, multiple bees attacked, but Sora manages to swat away most of them. One of them manages to pop one of Ai's balloons. Sora quickly jumps up and swats it away. Ai continues to fly up and getting some fruits. The bees charged after Sora and Ai and attacked. Sora manages to swat them away while some pops one of Ai's balloons, leaving only one left. Sora quickly manages to finish off the bees while Ai reaches the top of the tree. As she reaches the top of the tree, her last balloon touches one of the branches, making it pop, and leaving her stuck. She was eating all of the fruit on top.

Ai: Yum! I'd do anything for fruit.

After Ai was done, Sora helps her climb all the way down the tree and she walks away. As Sora decides to follow her, he found a Summon Gem called the Element of Magic. The gem looks like a six-point pink star. Sora proceeds to follow Ai and Rosie to another house. The house has a sign that says Nook's Cranny. In front of the house is a garden that has carrots, pumpkins, and lettuces. Sora tried knocking on the door of the house, but there was no answer. Ai and Rosie walks over to the side of the house and notices that there was a hole in the house. Sora follows the girls to the side of the house.

Sora: Hi, Ai and Rosie. What are you two doing here?

Rosie: Tom Nook's store has returned, but it looks like no one is home. Ai's been trying to call to him, but there was no answer.

Sora then walks back to the front door and decides to open it. He found out that the door was not locked and saw a brown raccoon wearing a blue apron. It would be rude to just walk in without knocking, but it was also rude not to answer the door. Inside the house, it looks like a store. Ai was finally getting impatient and began crawling through the hole.

Ai: Hello? Tom Nook? Are you in here?

Raccoon: Nope! Tom Nook is not here!

To his dismay, Ai crawls through the hole. Rosie follows through the hole too.

Ai: Hello, Tom Nook.

Tom Nook: Ai, what a pleasant surprise. Nice to see you too, Rosie.

He then turns to see Sora enter the store.

Tom Nook: Is this a new friend of yours?

Sora: Hi, I'm Sora.

Tom Nook: I'm sorry, Ai. But I don't have any fruits for you to buy.

Sora walks over to Tom Nook's cabinet and found something.

Sora: Really? Then what's that bowl on the top shelf of that cabinet?

Everyone turns to Sora and saw that he found a fruit basket. Tom Nook began to sweat nervously.

Tom Nook: Well...How about that? Would you like some, Ai? Of course, you don't have to if you don't want-

Ai: I'll just have a little bit.

Sora reaches up and grabs the basket and sat it down at the table. Ai began having some fruits. Tom Nook got really nervous and looks upset.

Tom Nook: Ai? You're not eating the whole basket, are you? Once you start, there's no stopping you.

Sora was shocked to see Ai eat the entire basket. Tom Nook sighs sadly and looks.

Tom Nook: Oh no! I'm out of fruit again.

Thinking there was nothing to do, Sora leaves the house. As he was about to leave the area, he hears a cry.

Rosie: HELP! Please help Ai!

He turns to see Rosie run up to him really fast, only to trip and fall.

Sora: What's wrong, Rosie?

Rosie: Ai's in trouble! Come with me!

The two ran back to Tom Nook's store as fast as they could. They ran inside to find Ai stuck in the hole.

Ai: I'm stuck again. I came through this hole before, but now it must have shrunk on me.

Sora: How did you get stuck in there?

Tom Nook: Maybe she ate too much fruit. If Ai doesn't slim down, my house will be plugged up forever!

Sora: We better help her!

Sora, Rosie, and Tom Nook ran outside and ran over to the side of the house. There, they saw Ai's face and she was sad.

Ai: Now how am I going to get outta here? When it's lunch, could you give me some fruit?

Tom Nook: No more fruit until you get out, young lady!

He then panics.

Tom Nook: I'm afraid pulling may not help her out. If only there were something we can do.

Sora then thinks for a moment, then he came up with an idea.

Sora: I got it! This situation is similar to a book I read about a teddy bear who got stuck in a rabbit hole. He needs carrot juice to be spread around the sides of his body. This allows him to slide out more easily.

Tom Nook: Of course! Why didn't I think of that before? We'll give her a bit of carrot juice and she'll be out in no time.

He then turns around ready to get the carrots when he gasps in horror.

Tom Nook: Oh no!

The group turns to see a boy in a blue ninja suit with his face covered up. He hops all over the place and ran into Sora.

Boy: Hi there! I'm Yu the ninja boy. I don't think I've ever seen you before.

Ai: Hello, Yu. You've ran into my new friend Sora.

Yu: Hiya, Ai! Say, you're looking a little uncomfortable today. Is that a new exercise? Why, hopping around is alot more fun!

He then got off Sora. Sora stood up and brushes himself off.

Sora: Why do you hop around so much, Yu?

Yu: Why? Because hopping is what I do best! But now my hopping spot has disappeared. Until it returns, this place will be my new hopping spot!

He ran off to hop around the garden. This shocks Tom Nook.

Tom Nook: No! My garden will be ruined if somebody doesn't stop Yu! And if we don't give Ai some carrot juice, she'll be stuck forever! Please help me, Sora!

?: I see your in quite a fix, Sora. So you could use some help.

Everybody turns to see Tortimer.

Tortimer: Perhaps you can tire him out. The carrots will become buried if he steps on them twice. How will you do that? It's easy. Just reach the spot before he does and stop him. Speed is the key to this challenge, so be careful.

Sora ran into the garden and jumps in front of the carrot Yu was about to land on when Sora puts his hands up and stops him. Thinking this was a game, he hops on the next one and buries it once. Sora got to the next carrot and stops him again. They went on for a few minutes until Yu got tired and sat on the floor. Sora got tired too.

Yu: Wow! Yu did pretty good there, Sora. Let's play again sometimes.

Sore: Sure. That was fun. I'd like to play again too.

Yu: Then I'll be seeing you again. Good-bye!

He then ran off. Tom Nook sighs in relief.

Tom Nook: Thank you so much. Now we need to pop Ai outta there. I'll get the carrots to make the carrot juice, so please wait inside the house.

Sora nods and went inside the house. After a few minutes of waiting. Tom Nook went back in.

Tom Nook: What a day this has been. I gave Ai the carrot juice.

Sora: So now I can push her?

Tom Nook: A little push should do. Don't overdo it.

Sora ran up to the hole where Ai is and pushed her out, sending her flying into a bunch of fruit baskets. Tom Nook looks out in shock.

Tom Nook: This is terrible! First my garden and now this?

Ai sticks her head out the pile.

Ai: I guess this isn't so bad. There's plenty of fruit here.

Sora: Well, two down and three to go.
