Chapter 39: Battle at Hollow Bastion Part 2
Sora and the gang went up the stairs to go after Riku, but sadly the door was chained up and they couldn't get in.
Plucky: How did he chain up the door so fast?
The group then turns to see another door right near them.
Sora: Let's try that door.
The four walks up to the other door and opens it. What they saw next amazes them and shocks Sora. It was the library from his dream about Kairi. He remains stunned as the others looks around the library in awe.
Plucky: Wow! I've never been in a library like this before. If Dizzy ate a library book, I'd take the words outta his mouth.
Tuxedo Mask: It's true what Sora says. You do tell the worst jokes.
Plucky: Ahh, my adoring public.
Ignoring Plucky's joke, Sora walks around the library. There's something about it that seems familiar. He walks over to a corner of the room to see the stairs from his dream. He stops and thinks about it.
Sora: This can't be the same place. Could this be where Kairi came from?
The four walks up the stairs and arrives at the second floor. They noticed a square table with a small green lamp on it. As they walked over to take a rest, Plucky trips over a book and lands on his face. Everyone starts laughing as Plucky stood up and picks up the book.
Plucky: One of these days, I will have the last laugh.
He looks at a book and saw an open spot from a bookshelf.
Plucky: Somebody must have left this book here. Someone can break a leg if they're not careful.
Tuxedo Mask: Then how come you haven't broken one yet?
Ignoring Tuxedo Mask's comment, Plucky walks over to the bookshelf to put the book away.
Sora: Careful. Something might happen.
Plucky: Kid, you watch too much T.V. This is real life. Nothing will happen.
He then puts the book back on the shelf, then the bookshelf spins Plucky into the wall. Sora ran up to the bookshelf and looks up at it.
Sora: Nothing will happen, huh?
Plucky then yells through the bookshelf.
Plucky: DON'T JUST STAND THERE, KID! GET ME OUTTA HERE!
Sora pulls the book out and the bookshelf spins around again, this time sending Sora behind the wall and Plucky on the outside.
Plucky: Thanks, kid.
He looks to see only Dizzy and Tuxedo Mask.
Plucky: Where did you go?
He then looks back at the bookshelf.
Plucky: Are you behind the bookshelf?
Sora: No, I'm all the way in Disneyland Tokyo. OF COURSE I'M BEHIND THE BOOKSHELF!
Plucky turns to Dizzy and Tuxedo Mask.
Plucky: Why don't we just leave him in there? It will be much quieter around here.
Sora: I HEARD THAT!
Plucky: I'm just kidding.
He puts the book back in and Sora came spinning out while Plucky went spinning in. This time, Plucky puts his hand out to stop the spinning and crushed it in the process.
Plucky: YEOW!
Sora: Let's leave him like this.
Tuxedo Mask: Let's stop fooling around and try to figure out a way in.
Sora, Dizzy, and Tuxedo Mask pushed the bookshelf the other way, freeing Plucky. The duck starts kissing his hand.
Sora: You OK, man?
Plucky: Every single bone in my hand broke and I thank you for that!
Sora: Don't mention it.
Dizzy wanders into the secret bookshelf and notices a red button on the wall.
Dizzy: Ooh, shiny red button.
He the pressed the button, causing the sound of a door to open. The others noticed this sound and could hear it coming from the hallway.
Sora: What just happened?
Plucky: It sounds like something opened up. The door we need to get into. That's what opened up.
Tuxedo Mask: But how did it open?
Sora then realizes that Dizzy wasn't around anywhere. He began to look around the library when he saw the secret bookshelf and Dizzy still inside.
Sora: Hey, was that sound from you?
Dizzy: Dizzy press shiny button and then it make funny noise. Is Dizzy in trouble?
Sora: No way! You just helped us open the door.
Dizzy: Hooray! Umm, what door?
Sora: Never mind.
The two rejoins the others and they all headed outside. They then looked to the left to notice that the chained door has opened. The four made their way down to the first floor. Unfortunately, the Heartless showed up just as they began to walk. The four manages to finish them off using their signature moves. Sora looks at his Keyblade again and smiles.
Sora: So good to have you back.
After finishing off the Heartless, the gang moves on to the next area of Hollow Bastion. Meanwhile, back at the chapel of the castle, a familiar figure was limping into the room. He puts his hand against the wall and breathes heavily. He could feel the sweat coming down from his silver hair. He still couldn't believe he lost the Keyblade to that nobody. He was better than him in every way. He was stronger, more popular, and undefeated. He has been scared for life from that defeat.
Riku: Why? I had it right in my hands. Why him? I'm way more powerful than him.
?: That duel of yours proves you wrong.
Riku turns to notice the same cloaked man that Sora met back at Destiny Island.
Riku: What do you mean, old man?
Man: Know only this. Only the heart that is strong and true shall claim the Keyblade. You did not meet the requirements.
Riku gasps at what the man said. He couldn't accept the fact that Sora's heart was stronger than his own.
Riku: Impossible! My heart is weaker than his?
Man: For that instant it was. He surpassed you in every way. It was his friends that gave him the power boost and it still remains with him at this moment. However, just because his heart became stronger doesn't mean you can't do the same.
Riku: Sorry, pal. The friendship thing won't work on me.
Man: Hahahahaha. Ahh, but there is a way that will make the boy's friendship shatter into pieces. Your heart will surpass him in every way.
Riku looks at the man with a curious look.
Man: It seems I've caught your attention. I've been watching your progress and I've seen alot of potential in you. You showed no fear in stepping through the Door of Darkness. It held no terror for you.
Riku: Darkness? How can that help me?
Man: It's quite simple. Just open yourself to the darkness. That's all it takes. Let your heart, your being become darkness itself.
Riku closed his eyes as he could feel a green wave surrounding his body. He was unaware that the strange man was coming towards him slowly. Meanwhile, back to our heroes, they have reached the lift stop area. It is filled with platforms that serves as elevators. In this area, they found a chest that contains the last five Pikmin.
They went back to the outside area of the castle, where they encountered two new Heartless types. The first ones are called Wizards. They are purple mage-like Heartless with rods. The second ones are called Wyverns. They are gray dragon-like Heartless. The Wizards cast many kinds of spells like Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder, but the gang dodges most of their attacks. The gang manages to finish them off.
After finishing off the Heartless, they activated a series of moving platforms by touching the spike switches. They jumped on the platforms that moves them around the castle. Near the end of one side of the castle, they found another moving platform, but this one was much larger than the others. They walked over to it and used the spike switch to enter it.
Plucky: I have a bad feeling about this.
Dizzy: What do you mean?
Suddenly, the Heartless appeared. Sora's group attacks the Heartless head on. Sora broke through the Defenders with an Ars Arcanum while Tuxedo Mask slashes through the Wizards with his cane. Plucky uses Thundara on one of them, but it disappears and reappears behind him. Dizzy uses his Spin Attack to destroy some Heartless. After the Heartless were destroyed, the platform reaches the end of the road and our heroes walked into the next room.
They went back to the lift stop area and took the elevator up. They then went to another room where they have to climb what appears to be endless stairs. They climbed up for what seems like an eternity for them when it was only ten minutes. Finally, the foursome crawls to the top of the stairs so exhausted that they were sweating with Dizzy's tongue hanging out.
Plucky: Man, that felt like climbing the Empire State Building.
Sora: If you make us fall down the stairs like last time, I'll take your shirt off and throw them into the sea!
Plucky: Whatever. Let's get going!
Tuxedo Mask: Serena. She's close. I can feel her.
Plucky: What's his problem?
Sora: That guy's love struck. Can't you respect that?
Plucky: Like you and Kairi?
Sora:(Blushing)What?
Dizzy:(Singing)Sora and Kairi sitting in a tree...
Before Dizzy could finish, the Heartless shows up again and ambushes our heroes. Sora and the gang finishes them off quickly and made their way through the next level, encountering wave after wave of Heartless. Sora didn't care if he was facing millions. He was in this to save both Riku and Kairi from the darkness. He bravely slashes through an army of Heartless and defeats them all. The others including Plucky fought their hardest too.
At long last the group reaches the last level of the tower. They have to climb up a pedestal with a Heartless symbol on it to reach the top. After a few minutes of climbing, everyone but Dizzy made it to the top. Dizzy notices another spike switch and pressed it, causing half of the pedestal to lower. Sora, Plucky, and Tuxedo Moon smacks their foreheads, realizing they went through all the trouble for nothing. Dizzy rejoins the others and the four made their way inside the chapel.
Meanwhile, back in the summoning room with the seven girls, Kairi was laying in the middle of the round area that has metal pipes all around. It also has the heart with the multicolor inside and the dark waves. Ganondorf approaches the heart and looks up at it. He made an evil smile as he looks up and began to laugh evilly.
Ganondorf: Yes...soon, I will be the end of everything! I'll destroy all worlds with the Heartless!
?:(Two voices)Well, someone became proud of himself today.
He turns to see Riku wearing his dark clothing again, but something was strange about him. Ganondorf didn't figure it out though. The evil rival walks next to Ganondorf and looks up at the heart.
Ganondorf: And what do I call the pleasure of this visit?
Riku:(Two voices)You did a good job. The path has emerged at last.
Ganondorf: Yes. I present you the Keyhole to the darkness. The time has come.
Riku: If you unlock it, the Heartless will overrun this world. I suggest being careful.
Ganondorf: Ha! What do I care? With the Triforce of Power, the darkness can't even touch me. I shall use it's power to rule all worlds and everyone shall worship me.
Riku: Someone is feeling overconfident.
Ganondorf: Who cares? No one besides the Hero of Time can defeat me. I will become supreme ruler of all worlds.
Riku: Have it your way.
Riku held out his hand and a dark wave appears in his hand. The wave then turns into a Keyblade. Riku's was different from the one held by Sora. It was a black blade with a sharp end. It has a red base around the handle. It doesn't have a Keychain though. Ganondorf turns to look at it.
Ganondorf: Ooh...
He then notices something wrong. He couldn't understand why the Keyhole wasn't fully complete.
Ganondorf: Something's not right! The Keyhole should be complete! The Princesses of Heart are all here!
He then turns to Kairi's lifeless body.
Ganondorf: It must be her.
The two villains walked over to Kairi. Riku looks at her like he didn't even care for her like he used to. Simply looking at her could mean that something went missing.
Riku: The Keyhole will remain incomplete until her heart is reunited with her body. Our efforts are pointless unless we get the heart back.
Ganondorf: I looked everywhere and I still can't find it. How are we ever gonna get this show on the road without it?
Ganondorf then turns to Riku.
Ganondorf: You knew all along, don't you? Tell me where it is!
Before Riku could answer, the two turns to hear the sound of a door opening in the distance.
Ganondorf: Oh great. Looks like the King's fools have arrived. And every one of my henchmen have been defeated. Fine. I'll take care of those worms myself. You stay hear and guard the Princesses.
As Ganondorf walks away, a blue aura surrounds Riku as he watches the King of Evil leave.
Riku: Too bad your fate has already been sealed.
The gang finally arrives at the chapel of Hollow Bastion. Sora, Plucky, and Dizzy sat down all tired. Tuxedo Mask steps forward and looks around.
Tuxedo Mask: We're almost there. It shouldn't be long now.
Sora: Hold up, Tuxedo Mask. I'm tired.
Tuxedo Mask: Sora, I've battled many monsters in my life time and did I ever say I'm tired?
Plucky: Buddy, We went through a bunch of stairs.
Tuxedo Mask: So? I'd rather run up a bunch of stairs just to save the one I love.
Sora: Tuxedo Mask's right. We're almost there anyways. Let's just keep going.
?: Sorry, worms. But this is as far as you go.
Everyone turns to See Ganondorf floating in front of them.
Sora: GANONDORF!
Ganondorf: Who were you expecting? Maleficent?
Plucky: You watch Disney movies too? How Ironic.
Sora: Ganondorf, hand over Kairi!
Tuxedo Mask: Same goes for Serena!
Ganondorf:(Sarcasm)Sure, why not?
Dizzy: Really?
Ganondorf: NO! The best thing about being evil is you get to lie alot. Anyway, I'm afraid you're too late to stop me. As we speak, the final Keyhole is ready to be unsealed and this world will plunge into darkness. It's unstoppable. Go home now while you have the chance.
Sora felt worried coming here, but he knew what he should do. He hears voices from his friends from other worlds telling him to never give up. He grabs his Keyblade and got in a fighting stance. Plucky, Dizzy, and Tuxedo Mask did the same. Ganondorf looks uncertain as he watches him do that.
Sora: After coming this far? I don't think so. We'll stop it no matter what you say!
Ganondorf: You poor, little fools! Do you actually think you can beat me? ME! THE KING OF EVIL!
Sora: Let's see what you got, King of Evil!
Sora and the group charges after Ganondorf. Sora uses Gravira to try to send Ganondorf down, but it did no effect. Ganondorf was being protected by a dark barrier. Tuxedo Mask jumps up, using his cane to try to slash Ganondorf, but it still did no damage. Plucky uses Thundara and Dizzy delivers Mega Punch and Mega Kick on Ganondorf, but even their attacks still did no damage.
Sora: None of our attacks are working!
Ganondorf: Fools! It's because I have the Triforce of Power!
He held up his hand to reveal the Triforce of Power.
Tuxedo Mask: That must be what's protecting him!
Ganondorf: As long as I hold the Triforce of Power, I'm invincible. Now I'll summon the Heartless.
Ganondorf summons the Darkballs to attack our heroes. Plucky and Dizzy took care of them while Sora and Tuxedo Mask deals with Ganondorf. Plucky uses Fira and Blizzara while Dizzy delivers his Mega Punch and Mega Kick on the Heartless. The Heartless were easily destroyed. Sora uses the Strike Raid while Tuxedo Mask threw his roses at Ganondorf, but they still did no damage.
Plucky: It's no use! That guy's invincible!
Ganondorf: Correct! Now it's my turn to attack!
Ganondorf uses the Triforce to unleash the dark waves at the gang. The dark waves paralyzed everyone. Sora knew that it was over. He has failed everyone. Plucky, Dizzy, Tuxedo Mask, Riku, and Kairi. A tear streams down his face and the tear drops on his Keyblade. The Keyblade began to glow and Ganondorf notices it.
Ganondorf: WHAT?
The Keyblade shines brighter and points at the Triforce. It fires a beam at the Triforce, the darkness got extracted from the Triforce, and it stops glowing. The dark waves subsides and Ganondorf looks in horror.
Ganondorf: NO! What have you done?
Dizzy: What happened?
Tuxedo Mask: I can feel it. Ganondorf uses the darkness from the Triforce of Power. Somehow, Sora's Keyblade wipes out the darkness, making it useless to the ones with darkness in their hearts.
Plucky: That means...he's no longer invincible!
Plucky uses his Cura to heal everyone.
Sora: Looks like the tables have turned!
Ganondorf: FOOL! I may have lost the Triforce's power, but I can still beat you!
Ganondorf pulls out his sword and charges at the group. Sora and Ganondorf clashed their blades. Plucky uses Thundara on Ganondorf, doing some damage. Dizzy headbutts into Ganondorf, knocking him down. Ganondorf uses the Warlock Punch on Dizzy, covering his hand in dark flames. It hits Dizzy, landing him onto Plucky. Tuxedo Mask uses his cane on Ganondorf, but he blocks it with his sword. He then charges at Tuxedo Mask and uses his Flame Choke on him. He grabs Tuxedo Mask and covers his hand with dark flames, doing some damage to him. Sora proceeds to use Sonic Blade on Ganondorf, doing alot of damage to him. Ganondorf stood back up in anger.
Ganondorf: NO! I cannot lose to a meddling kid, a pretty boy, a Tasmanian Devil, and a duck who can't tell a good joke for the rest of his life!
Plucky: Harsh.
Sora: Give it up, Ganondorf! You're outmatched!
Ganondorf: Not yet! I still have one more trick up my sleeve!
He then floats up in the air and charges a giant dark energy ball.
Ganondorf: NOW I'LL SEND YOU ALL TO HELL!
He then fires a bunch of dark energy balls at the gang, but Sora deflects them all with his Keyblade, sending them back at Ganondorf, stunning him.
Sora: Now's our chance, guys! Let's finish him off!
Plucky uses Gravira on Ganondorf, sending him back down to the ground. Dizzy uses his Spin Attack on Ganondorf, doing some serious damage. Tuxedo Mask uses the Tuxedo Smoking Bomber, firing a white energy beam at Ganondorf, doing even more damage. Sora finishes with the Ars Arcanum, rapidly slashing Ganondorf.
Sora: It's over, Ganondorf! This is for all my friends and for all those lives you tried to destroy!
He gave one final strike to the evil King and sends him falling into the ground.
Ganondorf: NO! How could I lose?
Sora found an Ansem Report on the ground and picks it up. Ganondorf weakly got up and groans.
Dizzy: Ganondorf still standing.
Plucky: This guy never gives up.
Ganondorf slowly backs into the wall.
Ganondorf: Darn you! You always meddle with my plans. I must retreat for now.
A dark portal appears behind him and he walks into it.
Tuxedo Mask: We can't let him get away! We have to know where Serena and the others are!
Sora: Right! Let's follow him!
They all ran into the portal, trying to stop him. However, they don't know that an unspeakable terror awaits them.
That's it for chapter 39. Sora and the gang will finish their battle with Ganondorf next time.
