Heres the second chapter. Hope you guys enjoy it. Shits about to get real! lol
"Kagome-chaan! Lord Inuyasha! Im baaack!"
It was late afternoon when the two finally made their way back to the village, they had spent most the morning and afternoon chatting, sitting by the river, and enjoying a nice long walk, well, Rin did most of the chatting. Rin ran over to the Miko and halfdemon waving, and embraced the Miko in a hug.
"Welcome back Rin, did you two have fun?"
"Oh yes we talked lots and walked around the entiiire forest! It was so nice! Oh! Look at the kimono Sesshomaru brought me!"
While Rin and Kagome gushed over the new kimono, Inuyasha made his way over to his brother.
"Hey"
"Hn"
"So, the entire forest huh?"
"She exaggerates."
"Hah, yeah she does that a lot."
"Hn"
"Ya know, its good you come and visit her a lot, shes always so happy when you do."
"She is unhappy when I am not here?"
"Well I wouldn't say unhappy, but she does get mopey when your not around."
"Hn, then I will endeavor to visit her more often."
"Or you know...you could let her travel with you again?"
"Inuyasha...you know I cannot do this."
"Well when she was a child yeah, I get that. But shes older now."
"She would still be in danger with me."
"Then teach her how to fight? Shes been asking Sango and me to teach her to use a sword."
"You would trust Rin, with a sharp object?"
"...Yeah ok point taken, but if its YOU training her, she would be fine. Just think about it."
"...I will consider it. Until then it is best she stay where she is safe."
The brothers looked to Kagome and Rin, laughing and dancing around, still gushing over the kimono. Sesshomaru would never understand women. The two fell silent for a few moments, before Inuyasha spoke again.
"Your going to be an Uncle, by the way."
Sesshomaru gave Inuyasha a shocked look, before returning his stoic expression.
"Oh, I see. Congratulations then."
"Eh, it wont be for a while, its only been two weeks since we found out. Honestly I don't know if IM ready for a kid, but I have time to prepare. Besides, Kagome is happy about it."
"Hn"
"Lord Sesshomaru!"
Rin came bouncing up her Sesshomaru, still smiling just as bright as she was this morning.
"Lord Sesshomaru, Lady Kagome offered for you to stay for dinner! I know how to make tea! Would you like some tea Milord?"
"Thank you for your offer, Rin. But it is time I take my leave for the day."
He saw Rins shoulders sink, and he felt bad, he knew she enjoyed spending time with time, but he could not stay, not here in a human village.
"Where is Jaken?"
"Oh hes over there under that tree, still sleeping."
Kagome pointed to a tree not to far away, and sure enough, there was his retainer, fast asleep. At least he wasn't causing any trouble, or flapping his mouth as usual. Quickly, in a single fluid motion, he picked up a rock from the ground and expertly flung it at the imp, nailing him right between his eyes.
"Gaaah! WHO did that!?"
"Jaken."
"Gah! Greeting Milord, welcome back."
The imp promptly bowed low to Sesshomaru, who stiffed a sigh. He turned on his heel and begain to walk away.
"Till next time, Rin. Jaken, come."
"Goodbye Lord Sesshomaru! I'll see you soon!"
Rin waved goodbye as Jaken scurried after him. As he vanished from view into the forest, Rin let her arm fall, and let out a sad sigh. She always missed him when he left. She wished he didn't have to leave, but her lord was a very busy person after all. She was just grateful he could spare a few hours to come see her every few weeks. Rin felt a hand rest on her shoulder, and looked up to see Kagome smiling down to her.
"Don't worry Rin, he will come back soon, he always does."
Rin smiled back at Kagome, and turned to look back to where her lord had vanished into the trees. Yes, he always does come back, and next time he does, she would tell him what should couldn't today. She wants to travel with him again, and next time, she would make her request to him...Once she gathers the courage to do so.
It had been a few days since Sesshomaru had visited her, even then she knew he wasn't to far away, because Inuyasha would tell her every now and then that he still caught Sesshomarus scent in the air. Inuyasha said he was probably circling the village, imprinting his scent and yokai, to keep lesser demons away. "Damn bastard, thinks I can't keep my own village safe" Inuyasha has said, though there was no anger in his voice, just annoyance. Rin hummed to herself as she tended to Kaedes herb garden, her brand new silk kimono shimmered in the sunlight. Out of everything in the village to do, she enjoyed gardening the most. Everyday she would water the herbs, pick the weeds, gather what Kaede needed at that moment, to which Kaede was very greatful. Kaede was getting older, it was hard to do all that work, and it was the least Rin could do for her, as she had allowed Rin to live with her for so many years. Kaede had suggested that Rin have a home built for herself once, but Rin had pushed the idea aside. She doesn't plan on living in the village for much longer, as much as she has come to love everyone in her little village, she wants to be with Sesshomaru again. Just the thought made her happy, and she began to hum and sing again while she picked herbs. A sudden chill filled the air and her hair stood on end...something was wrong.
"Ah, you must be Rin."
Rin jumped at the sudden deep voice and spun around, a tall, dark haired figure stood at the edge of the garden, her brown eyes, met deep red ones.
"'Ive heard so much about you dear."
The tall demon began walking towards the young girl.
"I've heard your kind."
Rin begain backing away as he approached her slowly.
"I've heard you oh so love to sing."
He all but trampled the herbs as he continued.
"I've heard, that Sesshomaru..."
Her heart began to pound as he came to a stop, inches away from her.
"Absolutly adores you."
Oh no...panic set in, and she did the first, and only thing that came to her mind. She turned, and ran, as fast as she could. She felt a strong hand grab her hair, and she screamed.
Smoke. Sesshomaru slowed to a stop, his attention focused on the very light smell of smoke that wafted through the air. A forest fire perhaps? It would do no good to get caught in a fire, perhaps he should seek, and snuff it out. His attention immediately shifted as he sensed someone approaching him, and fast. His hand rested on the hilt of Bakusaiga as a blond haired snake demon emerged from the trees beside him.
"Now now, Sesshomaru, don't go killing the messenger."
His hands sheepishly raised in surrender, a smirk on his face, Sesshomaru already hated this demon.
"How dare you address Milord in such a manor!? I'll have you know your speaking to-"
"Jaken."
"Yes Milord, sorry Milord."
Shifting his glare from Jaken to his new company, the snake demon raised his hands higher, a sheepish smile on his face.
"Speak, who are you, and why do you seek me out."
The snake demon lowered his hands to rest them on his hips, a broad smirk on his face, his whole body language screamed of his cocky attitude.
"My name is Baski, Lord Sesshomaru. And I am but a humble messenger."
"Then speak your message and leave."
Surprise shown on Baskis face, as if he were just expecting Sesshomaru to kill him. No matter.
"Thank you Milord. My message is but a simple one. Do you smell all that nasty smoke?"
The demon paused, breaking into a large, sinister grin. Sesshomaru became uneasy, this couldn't be good.
"Well, that smoke is your little village, currently on fire. That is al-"
He was cut off by a clawed hand grabbing his throat, and slamming him into a tree.
"You would DARE attack a village under MY protection?"
Baski grabbed at the wrist pinning him to a tree, gasping for breath as he did.
"M-me, no, my master, ack, yes. Im j-just a messanger, you wouldn't kill a humble mess-"
Sesshomaru snarled, and flung the demon to the side, crashing him into several tress, breaking them, and rendering the demon unconscious. Why Sesshomaru did not kill him, he didn't know, but he had more important things to deal with.
"Jaken take Ah-un and meet me at the village."
With that he turned and flew in the direction on Rins village, hopping he wasn't to late.
