Here's, chapter 3. Enjoy.
It took him merely half an hour to reach the village, the thick smoke overtook everything as it billowed up from the village. Everything was aflame, villagers scrambled in a panic, running with buckets of water to put out the fires, all in vain. Where was Inuyasha? Where was Rin? He hovered above the village, assessing the situation, it seems he would have to put the flames out himself. Gathering his yokai, he let it build around him, as the wind began to pick up, it swirled around him, his eminence power could now be seen like an aurora as it swirled. Then, in one pulse, it burst outward, like a tidal wave of wind, covering the entire village, his yokai smothered the flame, the wind took the smoke, in an instant, the fire was out and the sky clear. He landed in the village, the glow of embers dotted around him, as he reached out with all his senses to try and find Rin.
"Sesshomaru!"
Inuyasha landed right next to him, covered in soot and small burns.
"Sesshomaru, thank you, the fires just kept spreading, if you didn't, I don't think we could have stopped it."
Gratitude, from Inuyasha? That was a rare gesture. But thats not where he was here for.
"Where is Rin?"
"I...we don't know, we can't find her."
His yokai flared, Inuyasha, and the gathering of villagers flinched back.
"Gezz Sesshomaru, just calm down, I don't think shes in the village, no one has seen her since the fires started."
The fires...that snake demon...his yokai spiked again as realization dawned on him. Rin had been taken, again.
"It seems even hidden in a human village she is not safe from my enemys."
"What!? She was kidnapped?"
Inuyasha grabbed the hilt of Tessaiga and growled.
"Well lets go get her then!"
"No, Inuyasha, you stay here, attend to your village. I will go find her."
With that, Sesshomaru took to the skys leaving Inuyasha and the village behind. With the sky clear of smoke, scents began to fill the air again, it didn't take him long to locate Rins. It was faint, but still there. He flew towards it at blinding speeds, cursing himself for letting this happen again. He should have been more careful visiting Rin, he slipped up, and his enemys found her. Who ever that snake demons Master is. He will pay dearly if any harm comes to his little Rin.
It was far past nightfall by the time he tracked down her scents location. He landed quietly outside a large cave. The scent of blood and venom mixed in the air within, thankfully the blood was not Rins. He picked up movement and muffled voices from deep within the cave. Resting his hand on Bakusaiga, he made his way inside. Bones and human corpses were scattered all throughout the cave, the stench was horrid. He wrinkled his nose, but kept pressing forward. As he walked, he sensed movement all around him, figures shuffled in the darkness, surrounding him at a distance. So they think they have me cornered do they? His fingers twitched slightly around Bakusaiga as they continued to follow him. He was just about ready to draw his blade, when he heard soft sobbing, Rin. He picked up his pace and walked deeper within the cave, shadows following him. Finally the tunnel reached into a large opening, the inside was huge, lanterns hung on the walls, ragged blankets and pillows littered the floor, more bones. He cautiously moved inside the large opening, more figures gathered and moved in the shadows, a large snake coiled around a large pillar of stone in the center on the room, its eyes following Sesshomarus every move.
"Ah Lord Sesshomaru, your finally here."
Sesshomarus head jerked towards the voice. A tall black haired snake demon slowly emerged from the shadows, and Sesshomarus eyes widened. As the demon came into clear view, he saw her, her hands tied behind her back. The demon held Rin by the hair with one hand, the other held a knife to her throat. A loud growl escaped him and he tightened his grip on his blade.
"Tst tst, Sesshomaru, no need to be like that."
The demon chuckled and nudged his head to the side, in an instant, the figures from the shadows lept forward in to view, at least 18 of them, they surrounded Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru growled again, and the demon chuckled. It took a moment, but Sesshomaru recognized the snake demon in front of him.
"Doku...I was wondering when you would make a move on my territory."
"A good general always pins out an enemys strengths and weaknesses before striking, and I do believe I have located YOUR weakness, Sesshomaru.
Doku pulled Rin closer to him, and pressed the knife closer to her throat, Rin whimpered.
"L-lord Sesshomaru...Im sorry, I tried to run." her voice was just above a whisper.
"It is all right Rin. Doku, let her go. You are after me and my land, not her."
"Correct, I AM after you, and she is your weakness, therefore I am after her as well."
Sesshomaru let out a low growl that shook the very walls of the cave.
"Now now, none of that. Don't forget I can be a very reasonable man, Sesshomaru. Just give me what I want, and the girl will go unharmed. Otherwise, I slit her delicate little throat wide open. And rummer has it shes has already been revived once before."
Sesshomaru glared and grit his teeth, how did Doku find that out, that filth is craftier than he gave him credit for. Normally Sesshomaru would never even consider a barter with an enemy, but Rins life, her last life, was on the line, and he would do whatever needed to ensure her safety.
"...What is it you want from me Doku."
A dark smile crept across Dokus face, his fangs glistened against the light of the lanterns.
"Who knew a lowly human could make the great Sesshomaru so soft. Its simple, I said I located your weakness, did I not? Well, I also located your strength. I want your swords, I want Bakusaiga and Tenseiga."
Sesshomarus eye widened, he wants my swords, Sesshomaru pondered. His swords were indeed a large fraction of his strength, could he give that up? His eyes fell to Rin, covered in dirt and a few bruises, eyes red and puffy from crying. How could he even have considered not to? No nothing is worth Rins life, she died for Tenseiga once before, never again, he didn't need them. Slowly, Sesshomaru reached for the hilt of his swords, and removed them from his sash, then carefully he knelt and placed them on the floor in front of him, before standing back up. He shot a glare at Doku, who simply grinned.
"Soken, Nakai, grab them."
Two snake demons lept forward and each reached for a sword, Tenseiga, was easily picked up, but as soon as the other touched Bakusaika, a surge of yokai blasted forth from the blade, a shrill scream echoed throughout the cave, the yokai subsided, and the demon blew away into dust, the cave fell silent. Doku tsked.
"It doesn't matter, I'll figure it out, Baski, Kashi, restrain him, use the beads from that priest."
Restrain? Two more snake demons lept forward, but much more carefully this time as they approached Sesshomaru. He shot a glare at the one he recognized, who shrugged sheepishly.
"Hey hey, we meet again. Thanks for not killing me by the way, real kind of you."
"You won't be so lucky this time, filth."
With that Sesshomaru swipes his claws at the two, who lept back, narrowly avoiding them.
"Ah ah Sesshomaru."
Sesshomaru heard Rin gasp, the scent of her blood made him freeze, he snapped his head towards them, a small stream of blood dribbled from a new cut in her neck. Tears started streaming down her cheeks.
"Doku, don't hurt her." Sesshomarus voice was almost a plea.
"I won't, as long as you cooperate. Baski, the beads, now."
Sesshomarus whole body was rigid with anger as the two demons approached him again. Baski, who seemed completely fearless this time around, reached out and grabbed his wrist, while the other demon grabbed his other one. Sesshomaru felt compleatly helpless, as his arms were forcefully pulled behind his back, and what he assumed was demon restraint beads tied tightly around his wrists.
"Lord Sesshomaru...no" Rin sobbed, tears falling freely from her now.
"Quiet girl. Take him to the dungeon until I figure out what to do about Bakusaiga."
He gave no resistance to the demons grabbing his arms, as they pulled him deeper into the cave.
