Chapter 44: Prelude to the Giovanni Cup
The Gummi Ship has arrived at the Pokemon World and landed at the Ever Grande Conference. Sora and the gang arrives with the Digidestined joining them. Suddenly, more fans came to see Sora's group. This time, Plucky moves aside, thinking they were there for Sora and Dizzy. However, Plucky sees himself surrounded by a bunch of Pokemon. They were carrying signs saying "Go Plucky!" and "We love Plucky!" Plucky looks down in disappointment.
Plucky: Man, I'm still in the shadows. It's like a curse that must happen to a duck. Like Donald Duck and Daffy Duck.
Dizzy: Aww, it not so bad. Dizzy is Plucky's number one fan.
Plucky: Gee, thanks, Dizzy.
Dizzy: But Dizzy way more popular than Plucky.
Sora: Thanks, everyone. We'd really like to give you our autographs, but we've got a tournament to get to.
Sora's group and the Digidestined escapes the fans and went to the stadium. There, they found Ash and May again. Tai and the Girl Sora went up to greet Ash and May, while Patamon and Gatomon went up to greet Pikachu and Skitty.
Ash: Hey, Digidestined! It's good to see you again.
Tai: It's good to see you too, Ash.
Sora walks up to greet Ash.
Sora: Hey, Ash!
Ash: Hey, Sora!
He then looks down in the ground.
Sora: What's wrong?
May: He lost the Hoenn League. He ended up in the Top 8.
Sora: Really? I'm sorry, Ash.
Ash: That's OK. There's always another year.
May: If I recall, you guys are entering for another tournament.
Plucky: That's right. We're wondering who will be participating.
Ash: Alot of people you fought before will be participating, including me and May.
Tai: Speaking of participation, me and Matt better register for the tournament.
T.K.: Don't forget about me. I wanna participate, too.
May: Well, you guys know where to register.
Tai, Matt, & T.K.: Right!
Sora: Well, we'll see you guys at the food court.
The Digidestined went up to register, while Sora's group follows Ash and May to the lobby, where Prof. Oak, Brock, Max, and the Ham-Hams are waiting.
Sora: Hey, Prof. Oak! Hey, Ham-Hams!
Hamtaro: Hey, Sora! It's good to see you again.
Bijou: Oui. What are you zhree up to lately?
Sora: We've done a little adventure. What about you guys?
Boss: We're doing fine. We've come to check out the new tournament.
Oak: I hate to break it to you, guys. But this next tournament is runned by Giovanni.
Everyone: WHAT?
Brock: That's right. Team Rocket must have rigged the system, so they could run a tournament.
Plucky: Did you guys get the police to stop it?
Max: Officer Jenny did an investigation, but she has no way how to cancel it.
Sora: So, why don't you guys cancel it?
Oak: We can't. All who participated in it must enter, or they will lose something valuable to them. Also, anyone who loses the tournament will still lose something.
Sora: Well, let us enter the tournament! We can put a stop to Team Rocket.
Ash: No, Sora! You could lose your Keyblade if you lose this tournament.
Plucky: Don't worry. We faced many world ending threats. We're not gonna lose to a bunch of criminals.
May: Maybe you can foil Team Rocket's plan. We're counting on you, Sora.
Sora: Don't worry, guys. We'll defeat Team Rocket and save the day.
Oak: The tournament starts tomorrow. We should rest up and get ready.
Dizzy: Let go to food court! Dizzy hungry!
The gang decided to walk to the food court. Meanwhile, somewhere in the Ever Grande Conference, Giovanni was talking to the Team Rocket trio. He was petting his Persian.
Giovanni: So, everything is going according to plan?
Meowth: Yes, Boss. Everything's going to plan.
Jessie: We've managed to rig the system. Everyone who participates will lose their most prized possessions.
Meowth: It wasn't easy, though. We've almost activated da alarm, danks to some idiot here.
Meowth and Jessie glares at James.
James: It wasn't my fault! Have I ever steered you guys in the wrong path before?
Jessie: Let me see. The number of manholes we fell through was mostly from you. The time you had to buy so many firecrackers, which then blew up on our faces, because you lit the match too early.
Meowth: Or when you took a nap in da submarine and caused it to crash into an underwater volcano. Da time you had to have a party on da hot air balloon and you caused it to sink into da ocean.
James: Oh, please don't go on! I can't stand to hear about past failures anymore!
Jessie: Well, stop acting stupid! We have work to do!
Giovanni: SILENCE! You fools are the reason my plans failed! Do you understand the plan?
The trio stops arguing and listens to the Boss.
Team Rocket Trio: YES, SIR!
Giovanni: We gotta make sure that the Keyblade twerp and his friends are out of the picture. We also must take that Keyblade from him. We also gotta make it to the Gold Match. I have a personal matter with a certain friend there.
Meowth: Yes, Boss man! We'll defeat da twerps and get dat Keyblade for you. Den you can make me da top cat again.
Giovanni: Don't fail me again!
Team Rocket Trio: AYE AYE, SIR!
Giovanni laughs evilly. Back at our heroes, they are walking to the food court. Along the way, they encountered some familiar friends. They saw Cloud's group and Kirby's group. Cloud's group are Cloud, Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith. Kirby's group are Kirby, Tiff, Tuff, Rick, Meta-Knight, King Dedede, and Escargoon.
Sora: Hey, it's Cloud's group and Kirby's group!
He walks up to the two groups. Dizzy ran up to Kirby, and shakes his hands. Suddenly, Sora's Dino Egg shakes and out came Yoshi. He ran up to Dizzy and Kirby.
Sora: Hey, that reminds me. My Summon friends should all come out.
He released Team Go-Getters, Twilight, and Hiei from their Summon Gems. They too came to join the group. Sora first talks to Cloud's group.
Sora: Hey, guys! It's good to see you again.
Cloud: Good to see you too, Sora.
Sora: What are you guys doing?
Leon: We came to participate in the tournament. Me and Cloud are part of the same team.
Sora: What about Yuffie?
Yuffie: I have to participate all by myself. The nerve of that Squall!
Leon: IT'S LEON!
Everybody laughs at Leon's real name.
Sora: Anyway, Cloud. Can we not try to use dark powers this time?
Cloud: I'll try not to this time.
Sora: It's nice talking to you.
He then walks over to Kirby's group.
Sora: Hi, guys! Did you come to participate, too?
Tiff: Only Kirby. He will be partnering with someone called T.K. and Patamon.
Sora: He gets to partner with one of the Digidestined?
Tuff: You know them?
Sora: I've saved their world twice. I've brought them here with me.
Rick: Alright. This tournament is startin to get interesting.
Plucky: I'll be looking forward to this tournament.
Suddenly, somebody came and hugs Plucky from behind.
?: Oh, Mr. Duck! I miss you!
Plucky:(Sweatdrops)I think I know who that is.
He turns to see Cream the Rabbit.
Sora: Cream is here? Then that means...
Sora turns to see Sonic's group and Megaman's group. Sonic's group consisted of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Shadow. Megaman's group consisted of Megaman, Roll, Protoman, Bass, and their animal partners Rush, Tango, Eddie, Beat, and Treble. Sora walks up to Sonic's group first.
Sora: Hey, Sonic! Long time no see.
Sonic: Hey, Sora! Good to see you kid.
Sora: So, what were you doing?
Sonic: Not very much, since Eggman was gone.
Amy: Me and Sonic got on so many dates. He's finally warming up to me. Isn't that right Sonic?
Sonic:(Blushing)Uhh...yeah...I guess.
Everybody noticed Sonic blushing in front of Amy.
Plucky: Look's like Sonic's not afraid of his own girlfriend anymore.
Sonic:(Blushing)Hey! Knock it off, Plucky!
Everybody laughs, then Sora talks.
Sora: So, which one of you guys will fight?
Shadow: Only me and Sonic will participate. This time, we'll use the powers of the Chaos Emeralds.
Knuckles: We'll just watch the battle and support Sonic and Shadow.
Sora: I can't wait to see the power of the Chaos Emeralds.
Tails: You'll have to wait, until you get to battle Sonic and Shadow.
Sora then turns to Megaman's group.
Sora: Hey, Megaman! It's been a while.
Megaman: Hey, Sora! How have you been?
Sora: I'm fine. What about you?
Megaman: We haven't done much, since Wily was gone.
Roll: Me and Megaman are working on a plan for next year's robot festival.
Plucky: So, which one of you guys will fight?
Bass: Only me and Megaman. We'll combine with Treble and Rush to battle.
Sora: I can't wait to see you two in your Super Adapters.
Protoman: You better hope that you get to meet Megaman and Bass in battle.
Sora: I hope so, too.
?: Hey, Sora!
Sora turns to see Goku's group joining in with Seiya's group. Goku's group consisted of Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, and Dende. Seiya's group consisted of Seiya, Hyoga, Shiryu, Shun, and Ikki.
Sora: Goku! I'm glad to see that you came. You too, Seiya.
Goku: I'm teaming up with Seiya for this tournament. He seems very powerful.
Seiya: This time, I'll use the Sagittarius Armor to battle you.
Goku: And I'll use the powers of the Super Saiyan.
Plucky: Is there anyone among your groups who will be joining?
Seiya: Nope. Just me and Goku.
Sora: OK. I can't wait to see your full potentials.
Dizzy: Let go to food court! Me hungry!
Everybody went to the food court, including the Digidestined, who joins the group. They all ordered their food and went to the tables to eat. Sora was having chicken tenders with barbecue sauce, Plucky was having General Tso Chicken, and Dizzy was having Chicken Tikka Masala. Sora and Plucky both noticed the theme of their meals.
Plucky: Kid, why do you keep going with American food?
Sora: I don't know, Plucky. But you keep going with East Asian food. Only Dizzy was having food from different parts of the world.
Ash: What are you guys talking about?
Sora & Plucky: Nothing!
Everybody was having their own meals too. Ash and May are eating alot of noodles, Goku and Gohan were eating alot of fried rice, Sonic was having a chili dog, Megaman is having his Energy Tank, the Ham-Hams are eating their sunflower seeds, and Dizzy, Yoshi, and Kirby are having an eating contest. After everyone was done having dinner, they went to their hotel rooms and went straight to bed.
That's it for chapter 44. It's been a while since I had a short chapter. Next time, the Giovanni Cup will start.
