"You were unusually quiet during dinner" Ginny asked looking at Harry while walking hand in hand. They were nearing the pond and can hear crickets in the far distant.

Harry smiled and gave her a side glance "Did I ever tell you that I am so proud of you?"

Ginny gave Harry's hand a squeeze "Really?"

"Really. I do. Ever since Hogwarts, I have always been proud of you." They stopped when they reached the pond and Harry sat down bringing Ginny with her.

"A while back, I just can't stop looking at you and feel proud of what you've accomplished. You are living your dream"

Ginny smiled and felt her cheeks reddened. "I am; I really am living my dream. But do you know what the best part is?

"What?" Harry asked

Ginny looked over her shoulder and looked intently through Harry's eyes. "You"

Harry looked away and Ginny heard him sniff. "Harry, are you ok?"

Harry wiped away tears from his eyes and looked backed at Ginny "I'm sorry, something in my eye."

Ginny was not fooled .She knew Harry was not used to people telling him those things, he is not used to being loved and appreciated. When she found out about his past with his muggle relatives, she didn't like it; in fact there were times she wanted to pay them a visit. Harry endured a lot of pain and struggles throughout his life and Ginny just wants him to start living his life filled with love and happiness. Harry Potter never showed his vulnerability, he always act brave in the face of danger. But it was moments like these when he lets his guard down in front of her that Ginny treasures the most. She wants to be a safe place for Harry to be himself and he knows he can be.

Ginny sat in silence still looking at Harry and waiting for him to say something.

"Gin, this past few months, with you, in Hollyhead, and me here working in the ministry got me thinking a lot about our relationship"

Ginny's heart paced. What is he trying to say? Is he breaking up with her? Wait, no, it can't be. Ginny's thoughts went back to the whole three months that they had a long distance relationship; they had fights, but not major ones. She didn't remember any significant events that would cause Harry breaking up with her.

Ginny loss her train of thoughts when he saw Harry kneeling on one foot in front of her. He was holding a ring. Wait, what just happened?

"Gin, did you hear me?"

"Wha...wait, what was that?" Ginny asked with confusion, everything happened so fast.

Harry chuckled "I was just giving a speech about how this past three months got me thinking about the future. I was asking if you want to marry me?"

Ginny was dumbstruck. She felt her tears streaming down her face. "Ah,. Uhm. Harry, of course. I do. I want to marry you"

Harry laughed and smile and took Ginny's hand slid the ring on her finger. Ginny immediately hugged him and they kissed, rather passionately.

"I love you Harry Potter "

I love You Ginny Weasley"

Ginny admired the emerald-cut ring "I love it, it's so beautiful"

"It's my mom's" Harry said, looking at the ring.

"Really? How did you…" Asked Ginny, confused with the information.

Harry smiled at her and looked at the ring again. "I visited Gringotts the other week, the goblins were not pleased to see me, but I went into my parent's vault and saw that. I have a feeling Snape might have found it on my mum and decided to keep it."

"Oh, and here, I know you can't wear that on your finger given the circumstances, I got you this" Said Harry, taking out a chain from his pocket.

"You can wear it as a necklace for the time being"

"You really thought about this didn't you?" asked Ginny, taking her engagement ring off and inserted the chain.

"Here, let me help you" Harry hooked the necklace around her neck and when he was finished, they noticed they were inches apart from each other, Harry decided to close the gap and he kissed her again.

They sat there for a while, listening to the crickets, looking at the pond. Ginny, can't seem to wrap her head around the event. She is going to marry Harry Potter. It seems it was just yesterday that he met Harry for the first time eating breakfast on their dining table. She got nervous, ran upstairs and hid the notebooks scribbled with "Ginny Potter"; "Ginevra Molly Potter" all over its pages.

Later that night, the two newly engaged couple stepped back into the Weasley home and found most of them in the sitting area. They were all looking at George who was in the middle of the room, talking animatedly like he was telling them a story.

"…and then she said Are you mad?" And everyone in the room laughed. It was Molly who noticed the couple entered "Oh, there you are, It getting a bit cold outside, I was about to send Ron for you"

Everyone looked at them and Hermione who seem to notice something, raised her eyebrow at them "Is something going on?"

Ginny didn't know how Hermione could've sensed; she tried her best to look innocent as if she doesn't know what she is talking about "Nothing's going on"

But Harry was the giveaway. Ginny looked over at Harry for support but found the wizard smiling from ear to ear like someone who just drank a love potion.

"Harry" Ginny called.

This brought Harry's attention back and he tried to look serious but he can't find the words to say. This was in fact, one of the happiest moments of his life. "Oh, umm.. "

"Can't keep it can you?" Ginny asked, Harry pursed his lips and shook his head.

Ginny sighed and smiled. Her eyes filled with excitement. "Alright, let's tell them"

Harry's wide grin came across his face again and shifted his gaze from Ginny to the people sitting in the room who were staring at them with curious faces. "We got engaged!" He shouted.

The room erupted and within seconds Harry and Ginny found themselves being hugged by everyone in the room.

"Oh Ginny, dear, I am so proud of you. I'm proud of you two" Said Molly, after they hugged.

Harry looked over to Arthur who has a proud smile on his face and nodded at him.

"Blimey mate, you are full of surprises." Ron said

"Aren't we supposed to have that customary brother talk or something?" George joked, bringing an arm over Harry's shoulder. Harry chuckled at the thought of that.

"I'm so happy for you two." Hermione said, holding Ginny's hands.

"Thanks Hermione but I have to ask something" Ginny answered.

"Will you be my maid of Honor?"

"Ginny! Of course!" Hermione exclaimed. Planning and organizing is definitely in her alley.

"How 'bout you Ron, will you be my best man?" Harry asked.

"You don't have to ask mate." Ron replied.

That's how they ended their night. With everyone gathered around the couple, asking questions about the events that led to the question and talking about possible plans for the upcoming wedding.
