"How was your weekend?" asked Ginny, looking at Mira while the latter walked into their common room and sat on the sofa opposite Ginny's.

"It was great. I get to see my mum and dad and little sister" She answered. "How about you?"

"Same, my mum and dad was happy I got to come home after three months and my brothers can't stop asking me about the world cup." Ginny answered trying to act normal.

"and the boyfriend?" Mira asked giving her a knowing look.

Ginny gave her a sly smile and answered "well, let's just say, I spent most of my time at his place" this earned her a pillow throw from Mira.

"Witch! You really are living an interesting life or shall I say a romantic life. I have to meet this guy" Mira exclaimed.

Later in the day, all players were asked to be in the conference room for a briefing with Gwenog. When they entered, they were surprised to see another captain, Benjy Williams of the Puddlemere United having a heated discussion with their captain. When the two noticed the players, they stopped their discussion and faced them.

"Come in everyone, I think you all know Williams." Gwenog introduced unenthusiastically. The players including Ginny nodded at the captain and settled down.

"So, this week's going to be hectic, but that's not why we are here."

"Are you changing the game plan?" Ginny asked

"Yes, we are discussing th-

"No, we have trained for three months and I will not let that go to waste." Gwenog retorted, cutting Williams mid-sentence much to the latter's annoyance.

"This is unfair Gwen-"

"What is unfair?"

"With the exception of White, Thomson, and Perkins, most of your line-up are from your team" Williams said, exasperated.

"May I remind you Williams, we had qualifying tournaments? The Harpies won, we rose on top against all the British teams so it's only fair most of the players in the line-up are from the winning team. – If you are implying that a team shall be created with each player from different teams, we wouldn't have those qualifying tournaments then. The selection team would just have handpicked any player they prefer. Besides, there are players chosen to play from other teams"

"Yes, as a reserve team." Williams sniggered.

"I really don't see why you are making a big deal out of this, if I can recall, I sent an invitation to other reserve players to train here in Hollyhead but you didn't allow them, you wanted them to train in your area, I have to flew in and out of Hollyhead to Dorset so I can oversee the training!"

"They are my team!" Williams shouted

"I was chosen to be the head captain of the British team!" Gwen replied with same volume and intensity. The two realized they were making a scene in front of the players. Gwenog relaxed but still gave him death stares. Williams looked down in frustration.

"There's one week until the World cup, if you had any objections about the selection, the time to have said something about it was long gone." Gwen said in a relax but commanding tone.

Williams looked defeated and storm out of the conference room.

Gwenog took a deep breath and sighed "Alright. – I called you all here to give some announcements. We will leave for France on Saturday. We will be meeting with the reserve team there and we had been given a specific time to use the main field"

Ginny saw Mira's smile got wider; after all, she did spend most of her time there for her education.

"What's going to happen with the reserve team?" Ginny asked with concern.

"You girls are the starting line-up, if the game takes longer than expected, I will pull you out so you can rest, prepare for the next game and the reserve team will take over." Gwenog replied. The girls nodded and tried to set aside their concerns.

Ginny tried to forget the fact that they should've trained with the reserve team from the beginning. She tried to forget that with this coordination problem, they might lose their chance of winning the World cup. She tried to forget that they are playing as the British team and not just Hollyhead harpies. Boy did she try to forget.

The last week before the World cup went by so fast. Ginny can't recall much of it because it was all the same thing, photo shoots, radio interviews, magazine interviews, really, it was all about publicity. The next thing she knew, she was opening her door to her hotel room in France. Unlike their training camp, Ginny will be sharing her room with Mira.

"Oh, It's gorgeous, World cup is definitely a different level huh" said Mira, walking into the room. It was a large size room, much better than the ones they use to stay in other tournaments. There were two beds parallel to each other on one side and they had a small sitting area across from it. Their bathroom was situated near the entrance to their room. Mira plopped on the bed near the wall while Ginny took the bed near the window. Perfect Ginny thought, she looked out and saw the muggle town outside her window.

The Quidditch World Cup is held in the South-western part of France, in the outskirts of a town named Saint Jean d'Illac. The hotel the players where housed was located in the town. For a muggle, they would look at it as an old abandon building little did they know, inside was a luxurious hotel for wizards and witches.

"When is your family arriving Gin?" Mira asked, breaking Ginny's gaze from the window.

"Oh, they sent me an owl just before we left; they'll going to be here later this afternoon by port key." Replied Ginny, smiling.

"I can't wait to meet them. –and is the boyfriend going to be here?" Mira asked with a naughty tone on her voice.

Ginny giggled and felt more excited knowing Harry's going be arriving with them. "He might be" she answered.

"You are very secretive about him. Is there something wrong with him?"

"Of cour- "

Both girls were interrupted by a patronus charm in a form of a harpy that appeared in their room.

Main Quidditch stadium in 10 minutes it announced in Gwenog's voice and then disappeared.

The girls scrambled frantically in there room pulling practice robes, gears and their brooms, after a few moments, they apparated to the stadium.

The World Cup's main stadium was nothing like Ginny had ever played on. It was a lot bigger than any other stadiums she has ever been in. Its size looked as if you can fit a hundred Hogwarts Quidditch pitch in it. There seems to have a hundred maybe thousands of rows of seats. There were also rows of VIP boxes in the middle.

There are nine Quidditch pitch in the event, eight of which will be used mostly for the elimination rounds while the finals will be in the main stadium. This year, there are sixteen participating team from different countries all over the world

The Quidditch World Cup was supposed to be held every after four years, but due to the 2nd wizarding war, it has been postponed. Ginny still can't quite grasp that she was just a spectator five years ago, and now, she is in the center, a professional player.

A sound of the whistle brought Ginny back from her daydreaming. She flew towards their captain joining the now formed semi-circle around her. They were joined by the reserved team. Ginny knew most of them from the British leagues. She caught Andrew Morgan, a Puddlemere chaser, looking at her. She recognized him and gave him a polite nod. He smiled at her and he shifted his gaze back to their captain.

"Alright, I am glad that we can all gather together –finally" Gwenog announced, emphasizing the last word. "–-Despite the fact that we should have done this three months ago. But anyway, we cannot do something about that anymore. –We have exactly three hours to use the stadium and then the Bulgarians will be coming in. So, we will have a practice play, nothing hard, I don't want anyone injured before Quidditch even begins."

The players begin the game, Ginny put in her usual effort. She scored fifty points before Gwenog asked her to step out and had another chaser substitute. Ginny flew at the side, glad she could sit this one out. She concentrated on the game that she didn't notice a player flew beside her.

"Gwenog's tactics are very effective" The voice broke Ginny's attention to the game and faced her teammate

"Oh, Andrew, didn't notice you there" replied Ginny offering him a friendly smile then went back to watching the game.

"Shame we didn't get to train together as a whole team, would have been fun don't you think?

"Yeah, I reckon, we would have been much better if we got the chance" Ginny answered not breaking her focus on the practice.

"My mum's going to be watching the games along with some of her former teammates"

Ginny jerked her head towards Andrew "Wait, Valmai Morgan's going to be here?" she asked.

"Yeah, she doesn't miss a single world cup. Are you a fan?"

"Duh, she is a Harpy and a chaser, I look up to her. I have three of her posters back home." Ginny replied enthusiastically.

"I can introduce you to her if you like." Andrew offered.

"Really? I'm going to be so –"Whatever Ginny was going to say was interrupted by Gwenog's whistle

"All right, practice is over, hit the showers, rest, see you on Monday here at exactly 7:30, the opening ceremony will begin at 8:00" Gwenog announced. Ginny waved goodbye to Andrew and landed besides Mira.

"Getting friendly with Andrew Morgan are we?"

"Oh, that was nothing, boyfriend, remember?" Ginny said and they both apparated to their hotel.

"Ginny! Ginny! We're here" Ginny heard the voice and followed it. She went towards the VIP area of the camp. She found her parents outside their tents.

"You made it!" Ginny said excitedly, walking briskly and hugged them

"We would not miss it for the world dear" Arthur replied, beaming proudly at her. Right at that moment, Ginny was being hoisted up the ground "Ginnykins!" No doubt Ginny knew very well that voice.

"George! Put me down this instant!" But Ginny was laughing and hugged George when he put her down.

"Percy got hold in the ministry he won't be arriving until Tuesday. Bill can't make it, can't leave pregnant Fleur but they send their love. Charlie's going to be here tonight" George said but they all knew she was more eager to know the whereabouts of a particular wizard. Molly knew her daughter too well and smiled "Harry's going to be here today dear; they are just waiting for Hermione, why don't we all get inside, I'll wrap up some snack for us"

Ginny chuckled and smiled. She followed them inside their tent. Molly took out a basket and started pulling out sandwiches and pumpkin juice. Ginny, who missed her mum's cooking, grabbed one and began eating it. Ginny was halfway through her sandwich when the entrance to their tent opened. A witch came in followed by a mumbling wizard.

"We were waiting for you for ages, it's the Quidditch cup and you were still at your office" Ron complained. Hermione rolled her eyes and she stopped abruptly causing the wizard to bump into her. "Ouch" Ron exclaimed. Hermione turned around to face him.

"We didn't miss the games haven't we? We're here now, A DAY before the cup" Hermione retorted putting her hands on her waist. Ron gave her a scared look but his expression suddenly changed when he saw Ginny. He smiled broadly at her "Ginny!" Hermione turned around, expression also changed. Ginny smiled at them broadly.

"You're here" Ginny stood up and hugged them both just then, the entrance opened and Harry walked in. "Ron, your bags are –"Harry was cut by Ginny who was now hugging him. He smiled and hugged her back.

"Alright you kids, come over here and eat something" Molly offered. The four of them move to the table and sat down.

"Are you all settled in your tent?" Arthur asked.

"Yes, the tent is just over there; Harry placed a red flag on top so we wouldn't miss it." Ron answered already on his second helping of Molly's sandwiches.

"I still don't understand why they didn't ask Gordon Horton to play with you!" Ron commented after a few minutes of silence. "Gordon Horton from the Chudley Cannons? -are you mad? He has the lowest success rate among the keepers Ronald." Ginny replied. Harry chuckled.

"Shut up Harry. We all know you're a Puddlemere fan. Lucky for them, some of their players got recruited." Ron commented. Harry shook his head and Hermione chimed in "Yes Harry, I never really knew which Quidditch team you are a fan of"

All the heads in the room all looked at Harry waiting for his answer.

"Oh, I thought it was obvious by now" Harry unbuttoned his jacket eliciting different reactions from the crowd. Ron place a hand on his forehead, Hermione grasp and began giggling with Mrs Weasley, George gave him a fist bump and Mr Weasley just beamed at him

-I'm a big Harpies Fan" Ginny grabbed Harry's shoulders and turned him towards her for a better look. He was wearing a dark green shirt with a gold talon in the center and words I am a Harpy by heart! Ginny laughed and gave him a quick kiss on his cheeks.

"Blimey Harry! You were wearing that under your jacket the whole time?" Ron exclaimed

"You are so mushy Harry!" George commented.

"I think it's cute" Hermione retorted still giggling.

Ginny can't stop herself from blushing. She laughed at her brothers who were teasing her fiancé. Harry didn't mind though, he was also laughing along with them. It was a great night for Ginny. When she arrived in her room later that night, she tiptoed to her bed seeing that her roommate was already asleep. She fell on top of it. Ginny can't stop smiling, her stomach full from her mum's food; cheeks almost numb from smiling and laughing from her brothers antics; lips swollen after hours of snogging Harry in his room in the tent. Ginny slowly closed her eyes. Everything's going to be okay she thought before drifting to sleep.
