"McKinnon." Sirius said as he ran into her on his way to the Quidditch pitch.

"Black," Marlene said, raising an eyebrow defiantly, but not stopping.

"Are you and your birdies ready to lose today?" he asked, picking up his pace to keep up with hers.

"Oh, please. Like we were going to lose to bunch of kittens." She crossed her arms.

"Please, McKinnon, we're unstoppable. Gryffindor hasn't lost a single match since the beginning of the season." He ran a hand through his hair.

"Don't worry about it. I'll stop you," she said, with a sardonic smile on her face.

"You'll try your best, that's for sure," he retorted

"My best is better than your best." Marlene stopped walking.

"Oh, McKinnon, now you're just being delusional." Sirius said, turning around to completely face her.

"It's lovely that you think so, Black," she said, taking a step forward in his direction. "I want to see just how delusional I'm being when we wipe the floor with all of you."

"You talk big game, let's see if you can deliver." Sirius smiled, but stood his ground.

"Oh, I can. Don't you worry your pretty little self about it." She kept getting closer.

With every step she took forward, Sirius backed up, until he felt something solid behind his back. "So, you think I'm pretty, huh?"

"That's what you're choosing to focus on, Black?" she said, dangerously close to his face.

"I know better things I can focus on," he said, fiddling with the bronze pin on her chest.

Sirius felt the door behind him for the knob and twisted it when he found it. He wrapped his arm around Marlene's waist and pulled him inside the broom closet with him, closing the door behind them and backing her up against it.

"For once, we're in agreement."

James wouldn't mind if he was fifteen minutes late and missed his Captain speech. Sirius had heard him rehearse it countless times in the dorms anyway and it was not as interesting as whatever Captain McKinnon was going to do to him.

"We're still going to kick your asses, Black."

"Yeah, yeah, sure," Sirius rolled his eyes, before leaning in for a kiss.
