* Silence, please *

"Yes, you are!"

"No, I'm not!"

"Yes, you are!"

"No, you're a snargaluff face!"

"And you an hippogriff-butt face!"

Belle just sighed, exasperated. It's been four days since she's been back for the summer and all her siblings do was fight each other. She was sat at her desk in her room, trying to finish her Transfiguration essay, but the screaming and the insults kept interrupting her thoughts. Was this going to be a thing all summer? Will they ever stop and let her finish her homework before she lost her mind? Just as she was dipping her quill in the ink, she heard Rosie scream an insult at the top of her lungs which startled her and made her throw the pot of ink in her piece of parchment. She stood up, really annoyed, walked out her room and straight to her siblings.

"STOP IT NOW!" she shouted. Rose and Hugo got silent and looked at her. "YOU'VE BEEN SHOUTING FOR HOURS AND IT'S ABSOLUTELY ANNOYING! I CAN'T HEAR MY OWN THOUGHTS, LET ALONE FINISH MY FREAKING TRANSFIGURATION ESSAY!" she continued.

"You have all summer to do it, you know. You can do it later." Rose answered. Belle just gave her a look.

"I don't want it do it later. I want to finish it now!" Belle said.

"Then, tell HIM to shut up!" Rose asked her.

"No, YOU shut up, troll face!" Hugo said

Belle sighed as they started fighting again. She went to her room, grabbed her things from the desk and went downstairs to her mother's office and slammed the door just when Hermione was walking out of the chimney. She had gone to the ministry to get some papers before her holidays properly started. Hermione just wondered who and why would they slam the door in that way. Then, she heard her youngests still fighting and sighed. She went straight to the office where she found her eldest daughter standing in front of her desk looking at a stained piece of parchment.

"Everything alright, sweetheart?" She asked, making Belle startle and look at her.

"Oh. Hi, mom! I-I... I'm sorry. I just..." The 16-year-old started. Hermione got closer to her. "Look what they made me do, mom! And I was just about to write the conclusion!" Belle continued showing Hermione her ruined homework.

"What happened?" Hermione asked, examining the damages.

"They just wouldn't stop fighting! It's so annoying, mom! And I really, really want to finish this now so I have the rest of the summer off." The teenager said. Hermione sighed.

"Where's your dad?" She asked.

"At the shop. Uncle George called him about some emergency and he had to leave. He told me he would be back soon." Belle answered, then sighed. "I can't wait to be of age already!" She exclaimed

"So you can leave and not listen to them anymore?" Hermione asked.

"So I can cast the silencing charm on them." Belle answered. Hermione laughed. She took out her wand and cast the silencing charm on the door. Finally, the shoutings were off. Belle sighed, relieved.

"Better?" Hermione asked. Belle nodded.

"Thanks, mom." She said, then sat down. She took a new piece of parchment and started writing again.

"So... How is it going?" Hermione asked, trying to make conversation with her daughter. Belle looked at her. "It's been a while since we've talked." Hermione continued.

"I've been here for four days, mom." Belle said.

"I know, but... You haven't said much. Just that school was alright, and then you shut yourself in your room." Hermione said, a worried tone in her voice. Belle sighed.

"OWLs were stressful. And... I don't know! I wanted to finish all school-related things before I have to worry about results." The teenage girl said. Hermione laid a hand on her daughter's shoulder.

"You did great, Belle. You don't have to worry about it." She said reassuringly. Belle sighed.

"I hope so." Belle said and nodded. Hermione kissed her daughter's head.

"I'm going to check if they're still alive." She said. Belle just nodded.

Before leaving, Hermione took out her wand and pointed it at Belle's stained homework. With a little swish, she made the stain disappear. Belle looked at her and smiled. Hermione smiled back and left the office. Silence enveloped her and she actually wondered if Rose and Hugo were alright when she saw Ron downing the stairs.

"Guess who's keeping the self-sharpening crayons now." He smiled, showing her a box of magical crayons.

"Are they breathing?" She asked. To her surprise, Ron laughed.

"They're watching a movie. Belle alright?" He asked, then kissed her.

"She's finishing her homework in the office. I placed a silencing charm on it so she wouldn't be bothered." She explained.

"Four days into her summer holidays and she's already doing homework. She's your daughter through and through." He said with a proud smile.

"She just wanted some silence. And I totally get it. This is so nice!" She said as her husband lead her to the couch and held her close to him.

"Yeah, it really is." He said.
