"Wendy! Wendy! It's Lucy, open up!" The Celestial wizard, known as Lucy Heartfilia, screams as she bangs on the infirmary door.
The Sky Dragon Slayer, also known as Wendy Marvel, opens the door for her and quickly closes it as soon as she's inside. Lucy runs over to the hospital bed, where you can see four little children asleep.
"We need to send them away now," Lucy said. She starts grabbing the kids one by one and putting them in a big scary looking machine. They were all given a sleeping potion; no one wanted their kid up in the middle of a war.
"But what about-"
"There's no time! Erza's hurt bad and Natsu he's-" She stops herself as the tears begin to cascade down her face. "We can't let our children die. We need to save them, Wendy, please." Lucy gives Wendy a long lingering look that leaves her no say in the matter.
"Ok, Lucy!" Wendy says as she picks up two of the sleeping children and settles them in the machine.
Lucy grabs the last one and looks down at the sleeping little two-year-old in her arms. She hugs her tightly to her chest and begins to sob.
"My sweet, beautiful baby, your daddy, and I love you so much. Live life to the fullest. Where ever you are, we will always be there with you." She holds her close to her chest one last time before laying her down with the rest.
"Lucy! Pull the lever down; the barrier spell isn't going to hold up much longer!" Wendy says, fear evident in her voice. She could hear what sounded like chanting outside the door.
Lucy gives her daughter one last look before running over and pulling the lever down with all her strength. A white light emits from the machine that takes up the whole room. As soon as the light's brightness goes down, she walks over to where the children just were and let out a sigh of relief.
They're gone.
She walks over to Wendy and takes hold of her hand. They stare at each other as if preparing for what's to come before getting into a fighting stance.
"Ready?" Wendy asks.
"Yeah, I'm ready. For Fairy Tail. For Natsu, " Lucy pauses and takes a deep breath as the barrier comes down and yells.
"For our child, Layla Dragneel!"
