Harry Potter And The 13 Muggles
Disclaimer:
Harry Potter is owned by J. K Rowling and Warner Bros.
Hello and welcome to another experimental fanfic of Harry Potter, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, after recently re-watching a marathon of Harry Potter films on HBO Asia on my cable TV in my country, which happened a few weeks ago, which somewhat revived my interest in making an new Harry Potter fanfic.
Having seen all the films that culminated in The Deathly Hallows part 2, I felt that I should come up with a new fanfic to see if it would attract Harry Potter fans, but a few days ago, while scrolling the Wikipedia site, I came across an article which featured a program where 13 people are fighting each other the death in order to win a prize, and this somewhat reminded me about shows with similar structures, like Fate/Stay Night series and Highlander the TV series, and I thought what if harry Potter where to stumble in a similar situation.
Given that this fic is set a few years after Deathly Hallows, a recently-graduated Harry is now free and decided to have him encounter something that is different from the usual, and how he would act on this kind of situation given that the setting of the story is set within the Muggle world, and whether he would be compelled to use magic or not.
Well then, read on and enjoy!
Ch. 1: Prologue
Four years have passed since the second Wizarding World war took place, and life at the Wizarding World slowly returned to normal, and though peace was restored, it wasn't an easy feat given that many lives were lost, as well as the Ministry of Magic went on a massive overhaul after the Death Eaters have been defeated following the final fall of Lord Voldermort.
Moreover, the Order of the Phoenix members had their hands full in putting the Ministry of Magic in a massive overhaul now that its puppet minister, Pius Thicknese has been defeated, and soon an election took place, where Kingsley Shacklebolt is elected as the new Minister and he immediately went to work, removing the ministry members who served Voldermort, including Dolores Umbridge, where she is immediately put under strict custody.
Umbridge protested but Shacklebolt rebuked her as he explained the reasons why, much to her horror.
"You know full well, Ms. Umbridge."
"Huh?"
"Though indirect, you supported Voldermort's forces, and because of your actions, many innocent Muggles perished."
"But…"
"Therefore it is right and just that you be punished…and with that, you have no hope for a parole…let alone a pardon."
"You can't do this to me! I am innocent!"
"Really? Care to explain that…?"
"!"
With HARD EVIDENCE shown and stacked against her, Umbridge has no leverage to argue and/or appeal her case, hence she is tried and sentenced to Azkaban. Moreover due to her actions in wrongly sending innocent Muggle-born victims to Azkaban, which many perished in captivity, her sentence was lifetime with no chances of parole, and thus VERY UNLIKELY that she would be given a pardon.
A year later (around 1998-99), Harry, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger resumed in attending their final year at Hogwarts and eventually graduated, with high marks and because of that, the three friends are guaranteed jobs within the Wizarding World, and now that the Ministry is being run by Shacklebolt, discrimination against Muggles have been eradicated and the Pureblood are forced to acknowledge the Muggle-born even if they're against it.
The trio best friends then decided to work at the ministry and apply as Aurors, which they all voted and agreed on.
"Say, what if we apply jobs as Aurors?"
"Really, Harry?"
"Sounds like a good idea."
"So we're set?"
"Yeah!"
"Sure."
"Then it's decided."
"Indeed."
"No objection!"
Harry, Ron and Hermione then went and spoke to the recently appointed headmaster of Hogwarts, revealed to be Minerva McGonnagal, and asked for her input and advice on whether seeking a job at the Ministry of Magic as Aurors would be a good option or not.
McGonnogal smiled and encouraged the trio to go ahead, stating that what they seek is a good option for them and said that getting a job as an Auror is indeed the best way to seeking employment at the Ministry of Magic, and added that Shacklebolt will surely help them in landing a job there now that the Ministry is headed by him, and that Muggles are also welcomed, much to the trio's excitement.
"Really?"
"For real?"
"That's great."
"Indeed. And because you three helped in defeating the dark lord and for aiding the Order, you three are sure to get guaranteed jobs at the Ministry."
"That's wonderful."
"Yes, indeed."
"So we can start?"
"Just fill out your resume."
After thanking McGonnogal, Harry, Ron and Hermione left the headmaster's office and went to the Ministry to speak to Shacklebolt, intending to ask for his help in getting a job, and hoped that everything would go well and are looking forward to a bright tomorrow.
Hermione then told her two friends about what her plans are once she is hired at the Ministry, and the two males nodded in acknowledgement and encouraged her to go for it, saying that it is a good idea as it would benefit those who deserve it.
"So…what do you boys say?"
"Brilliant."
"Great idea."
"I know."
"I'm sure many will benefit."
"That's our Hermione."
"Smart and cool."
"Thank you for the compliment."

A few years later…
It was the fall of 2001, and Harry Potter has just finished work at the Ministry, and things went well for him, as aside from just turning 21 years old, his relationship with Ginny Weasley got stronger and on top of that, he was able to save enough money.
Still, he is currently living at the Burrows with the Weasley family as Arthur and Molly Weasley insisted that he stay and live with them for now as they deem him part of the family. Harry is touched by the family's kindness, and through Arthur's gentle prodding Harry went and reconcile with the Dursley family, in which Dudley's parents (Vernon and Petunia) begged forgiveness for their wrongdoings they committed in the past, which Harry forgave them and all is well.
As promised Harry accompanied Arthur at London where he would show him places where RARE Muggle items can be found, and the Weasley patriarch is ecstatic in showing excitement at seeing these RARE ARTIFACT and Harry smiled at seeing Arthur's dream coming through.
Harry also at one time visited the Weasley joke shop, where George is running it. Business is thriving and George assured to Harry that things are okay and that he has gotten over Fred's death, which Harry nodded and both of them honored Fred's memory.
"You sure are doing okay, George?"
"Yes, Harry. I had a dream, and Fed told me to move on."
"I see."
"Thanks for the emotional support you gave me."
"It's okay, George."
"I'm sure Fred would be smiling from the heavens."
"Me too."
"Yeah."
Several weeks later (in which it is now November), and Harry just finished visiting the Dursley family, and passed by the cemetery where his parents – James and Lily, and godfather Sirius Black, are buried, paying his respect, and there he proceeded to pass by a park that houses an amusement center, where he decided to have a little R&R.
After spending some minutes he came across a booth where lottery tickets are being sold, and there the teller encouraged Harry to try his luck, saying that he might win a prize, which includes a two-month trip to Japan.
"Here! Give it a try, young man."
"Really?"
"Yes. I promise you might win the grand prize."
"I wonder."
"You'll never know til you try."
"Let me think…"
"What's a little risk?"
"Well…"
After some prodding, Harry decided to try his luck, and soon he won a prize, which, to his surprise, netted him an all-around trip to Japan, with pocket money included. He could not believe that he ended up winning such a major prize.
The teller told Harry that he is so lucky that those tried their chances before failed to win it, which he stared in surprise, seeing that he is the first person to win this kind of prize.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"I'm the first to win this grand prize?"
"You bet you are."
"For real?"
"That's right. You're so lucky."
"I can't believe it."
"You will now."
After being given the prize, Harry immediately had the prize investigated and learned that it is legitimate, but also learned that the prize is only good for one person, so he went home at the Burrows and offered the prize to Arthur and Molly, intending to let them have it as way to show his thanks for treating him like a real family member.
However, both the Weasley parents gently decline, insisting that Harry use it as they see that he deserve it more that they do, and encouraged him to use the prize to have a vacation which they felt that Harry truly deserves it.
"No. we want you to have it."
"That's right, dear."
"You won it. Fair and square."
"So you use the prize."
"We insist."
"We'll be fine here."
"We want you to enjoy, after the years you endure."
"Trust us, we know that you deserve it."
Harry initially turn down the thought, but the Weasley siblings encouraged him to take it, saying that Harry deserved it while George jokingly tells him to use that chance to buy a stock of anime DVD, reasoning that he wanted to watch some of the popular series his friends recommended him.
Ginny tells Harry to go for it saying that she will be fine and that this is one chance he never get another in a lifetime and that throughout his childhood that he hasn't gotten a chance to visit other countries beside the Wizarding World.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"You sure about this?"
"Of course. You deserve it, and don't worry about me."
"But…"
"We'll be fine here at home, so you take the prize and enjoy it."
"Well…"
"Trust me. You won't regret it."
After some encouragement Harry finally agreed to accept the prize and soon he filed a petition to take a leave of absence from the Ministry of Magic, which was granted. All is now set as Harry will be leaving for Japan in the middle of December.

London International Airport.
The scene shows that the airport is full of passengers – arriving and departing. There are those who see their loved ones leave while others await their arrival, and you can see and hear them greet the arrived ones while others bid him/her goodbye.
The tone were somewhat ranging from whimsical to emotional.
"Hello!"
"Good to see you again!"
"Finally we meet!"
"It's been a long time!"
"There, there now…"
"It's not goodbye…just see you later…"
"Don't cry now…"
"Farewell…"
After some several minutes Harry went to the departure area, after bidding goodbye to the Weasley family and Hermione, and soon Harry boarded a plane which is scheduled to fly to Tokyo, Japan, and after 30 minutes the plane took off as it is now heading for international space, and Harry looked at the window where he is now leaving England and watched the skies as it is bright and cloudy.
He hoped that he would enjoy a relaxing vacation now that the dark wizards have been arrested and peace has been restored, and after four years, the 21-year old man, who was given the moniker of THE BOY WHO LIVED, found peace and looked forward to a relaxing peace time that will commence in several hours from now.
