Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here, the story advances as Harry Potter is on his way to Japan for his much-deserved vacation, his friends are now moving on while at work at the Ministry of magic, and an unexpected character makes an appearance here where he/she might play a much important role in this story…

Well then, read on and enjoy!

Ch. 2: Nihon de no kyūka; shinpi-tekina mokugeki

Ministry of Magic.

A few days later, the scene shows that it is business as usual, and the ministry employees are doing their usual routine, such as paperwork and the like, yet some expressed envy that Harry Potter won a prize and get to go on vacation, which would last after Christmas, which you can hear the Ministry employees whispered among themselves on how lucky and fortunate Potter is, having won such a rare prize, reminding them of how Arthur Weasley won a similar prize that allowed him and some of his family members to go on a trip at Egypt decades ago.

Some say that Potter deserved it after everything that has happened to him during his childhood up to his Hogwarts days, and justified that he deserved a vacation after all that he's done that led to the permanent downfall of Voldermort and his forces, and though he lost most of his loved ones, Potter persevered and now he is enjoying his much-deserved break.

"You hear?"

"Huh?"

"Potter won a prize…"

"A two-month vacation in Japan…"

"Man he sure is lucky…"

"I sure envy him."

"He really has it all."

"Yeah…"

Still, there are some Ministry employees who remained critical towards Potter, and began to whisper among themselves saying that Potter probably rigged the game so as to get himself an excuse just to get a PAID vacation and leave the paperwork to the rest of the employees while he lazes around within the Muggle world, so that he can squander his job.

Some even agreed and believed that Potter's victory over Voldermort four years ago has led to letting success get over his head and wished that Potter would get into an accident so as to give him a KARMIC payback so that he would know his place and not flaunt his status as the BOY WHO LIVED and defeat the dark lord.

"That Potter…"

"He's such a doofus…"

"He thinks he owns the world…"

"I hope he gets into an accident…"

"And make him know his place…"

"He really is full of himself."

"He's a braggart."

"Indeed."

However, the employees' backstabbing comments did not go unnoticed, as Hermione and Ron overheard it and confronted the complaining employees and told them that it would be better to keep their comments to themselves and stop badmouthing Harry, reminding them that he sacrificed a lot in order to defeat the dark lord and that he nearly died for it.

Ron told the badmouthing employees to show some respect as Harry never done anything to cause problems at the Ministry, and Hermione told the employees that if they have problems, then they should go and tell Harry personally about their grievances rather than starting baseless rumors that are not really true.

But the employees just feigned ignorance as they did not respond to Hermione and Ron's comments, seeing the two as mere eyesores just like Harry.

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

Ron was pissed at the employees' attitudes and asked them why are they going silent when criticized for their rumor-making comments, but the employees just stared at them before staring at the books as they opted to ignore the two rather than argue their cases, and there Hermione whispered to Ron to just ignore them, seeing that the employees are not worth their time, which he sighed as the two left and head to their office room, but stopped upon haring them whispering that Ron and Hermione are really SPOILED, as if they INHERITED Harry's BAD INFLUENCE, which states that he has a MUDBLOOD for a lover and a BLOOD TRAITOR for a posse, which Ron became offended and is ready to verbally retaliate.

Hermione whispered to Ron and told him not to waste time with them, but he refused, saying that the latest comments are indeed a low blow.

"Ron…"

"What?"

"Don't…"

"I have to. They insulted you. That's something I won't ignore."

"I don't mind it."

"I do."

"Ron…"

"Just let me at them…"

Fortunately, the backstabbing employees got their payback as Shacklebolt came and told the jealous employees that he heard their comments and told them to stop their foolishness and reminded them what Potter contributed and that he never done anything to make himself look good.

Shacklebolt even told the employees that he will not tolerate any form of racial slurs and gave them a stern warning to stop their foolishness or they risk getting expelled, which the jealous employees stared wide-eyed, and began to beg for mercy.

"I AM SORRY!"

"FORGIVE US!"

"WE DIDN'T MEAN TO!"

"SPARE US!"

"FORGIVE US!"

"THE DARK LORD MADE ME DO IT!"

"PLEASE FORGIVE US!"

"WE'LL DO ANYTHING!"

Shacklebolt then told the employees to get back to work, which they did, and he approached Hermione and Ron, telling them not to get riled over this, assuring that he will see to it that there won't be any bad comments flying within the office, which the two employees nodded, and Ron thanked Shacklebolt for putting a stop to the jealous employees' foolishness.

Shacklebolt nodded and tells Ron and Hermione that they should focus on their work and reminded them that Christmas is coming in several weeks' time, and said that he is planning a Christmas party within the ministry, which Ron and Hemione appeared to look forward to it.

"A…Christmas party…?"

"In the Ministry…?"

"Yes."

"Cool."

"I look forward to it."

"Then focus on work. That way you'll be on guard and learn when I'll make the announcement."

"Sure."

"We will."

"Good."

Japan.

The country that is located within South East Asia, quite near different Asian countries such as China, Taiwan and the Philippines, is seen and that country is ruled by the Diet, and are handled by the Emperor and the Prime Minister. After their defeat at World War II, the country began to change for the better, and for several decades Japan vastly improved, mostly in the technological department yet their culture and values remained the same, as most Japanese citizens remained hospitable to visitors, residents and tourists alike.

The scene then zoomed further and you can see that the scene shows that the place being shown is Tokyo, which is bustling with people who are walking the busy streets, some riding vehicles, and others riding on bicycles. There are several types of people seen on the streets; adults, children, and even infants being carried by their parents. Businessmen, businesswomen, students, policemen, all kinds of persons are seen, and they were doing their usual activities as if they do not mind it.

Shops are open and the merchants are selling their merchandise and are enticing people to buy them in hopes of earning money. It was a typical day and it seems that people today are lively and felt that their lives are full of blessings and couldn't ask for anything more, as some are happy with stable jobs, students studying in the best schools, and more, and some even chatted with one another feeling that today is a good day.

"Hey!"

"Nice day, isn't it?"

"Today is a good day..."

"I love my job..."

"Life is so good..."

"I wish I have a good day..."

"Lots of money..."

"Lots of girls..."

The scene later shifts to a certain area, where business is thriving the area is frequently being besieged by customers which are a mix of adults and teenagers, and they appeared to be avid collectors, as they are looking and buying second-hand items which are technological in nature, and their reasons for patronizing the said shops are purely economical in nature - cheaper prices and practicality. You can see several shops selling HOT items for cheaper prices, such as smartphones, android tablets and even laptops, and despite being second-hand items, they appeared to be in good working conditions, and some of the customers are willing to buy them as long as their desired items are working fine as well as to save money for budgetary reasons, and the merchants are using subtle means in enticing passing customers.

"Hello...please by our items..."

"They are cheaper..."

"...they are in good working condition..."

"You can try them if you like..."

"I promise you will like them..."

"I promise you will get your money's worth..."

"Here are the items on our display..."

"Pick the one you like..."

The area in question turns out to be Akihabara, and the area is thriving and many merchants set up shops to attract passing customers and entice them to buy their products by showing the items and offered cheaper prices while assuring them that the items are in good working condition, and their marketing strategy worked as some passing customers were intrigued after hearing that so e gadgets are being sold in cheaper prices, and they began asking the merchants what itens do they sell, and the merchants showed to the customers the items they are selling, ranging from smartphones to android tablets and even laptops.

Then the scene shifts to another nearby shop, where a merchant is also selling second-hand items, but unlike the other shops, this merchant is selling something else and is catering avid collectors, and the scene shifts inside the shop where you can see the items being sold, which turn out to be classic console units and games, all being displayed on the shelves, and one by one you can see the following consoles being on display, which are:

- Nintendo Famicom

- Super Famicom

- Sega Mega Drive

- Game Boy Color

- Game Boy Advance

- Neo Geo

- Sony Playstation

- Sega Saturn

- Nintendo 64

In a matter of minutes customers passed by the shop, and most of them are avid collectors and fans of video games, and they were immediately intrigued by the items on display and they looked at the items, as some appeared to be unaware that such classical consoles actually existed, and they began asking the merchants if those consoles and its games are really something to be owned, which the merchant nodded and assured to them that the classic games are RARE, and are fun to play with, saying that even with popular games today that are released on current consoles such as the Sony Playstation 2, and the Sega Dreamcast, the consoles on display are even COOLER due to its nostalgia factor.

Much later, the scene shifts somewhere, in which a Japanese man is walking near an alley, as he appeared to be half-drunk as he earlier binged in sake, and as he is walking near a corner, something grabbed him and is dragged inside the alley, where the man screamed out loud while a growling voice is heard, and it can be implied that the man is being eaten alive.

"AAAIIEE!"

"Rrrr…"

"GGGYYYAAHH!"

"Rrrr…"

"TASKETE!!" (Help!)

"Rrrr…"

"TASKETE!!" (Help!)

"Rrrr…"

Not far, another Japanese man, who appeared to be in his early 20's, heard the screams and went towards the alley, seemingly heading to where the source of the scream came from, and it is unclear what the man is intending to do.

Moments later, another man responded to hearing the screams, but this time he is British, and he seemed to be having a reason to be here. He is identified as Newt Scamander, a Magizoologist. Born in 1897, he is currently 104 years old, thus he is a centenarian. However, he periodically took an elixir that reverts his physical appearance by half, and this give him the appearance of a 52-year old man.

Newt followed the source of the scream, which led him towards the alley, where he saw he silhouette of a man, then WINGS sprout out, where a screech of a bat is heard. Newt became quite alarmed and drew out his wand and went towards the alley, where moments later, the area is empty.

Newt became a bit concerned as he's been investigating this for a few months. Since six months ago, he heard reports about Muggles going missing without explanation, then he saw sightings of what he believed to be MAGICAL CREATURES, which seemed to disappear from sight.

He felt that these are connected to one another, but due to lack of evidence, he is unable to make a report to the Ministry of Magic, and thus all he needed is to catch a live one and discern it before presenting it to the Ministry.

By then he is approached by someone, a British woman, who turn out to be his wife, Tina Scamander, who also took an elixir to give her an appearance of a 56- year old woman, and she asked how are things here, which Newt dejectedly said that he was too late.

"I see."

"This is getting quite frustrating, Tina."

"Patience, Newt. You'll soon get a breakthrough."

"I hope so. I've been going at this for months…"

"I'm sure you'll get the evidence you need, Newt. You just need a lucky break."

"Hopefully."

"It's getting late. Let's go, dear."

"Yes, Tina."

The Scamanders then left the scene as there is nothing else they can do at this time, and hoped that thy get another sighting and prevent another killing.

The scene shifts at a hostel, where Harry Potter is settling in, as he is taking a rest after arriving at the airport hours ago, and there the hostel owner offered him some tea, and advises him to be careful when traveling at night, stating that there are reports that missing person cases are slowly on the rise, which Harry nodded and thanked her for the advice.

"You should be more cautious, sir."

"Huh?"

"Reports are spreading…many people are gone missing."

"I see."

"Just a friendly advice."

"Thank you."

"No problem, sir. Enjoy your stay here in japan."

"I will."

Surprise. Newt Scamander makes an appearance here where he is still portrayed as a Magizoologist, but this time he's taking this role a little seriously after hearing reports about many Muggles going missing without a trace, and that sightings about magical creatures are seen near the scene of the crimes.

Newt will be a recurring character and may work alongside harry, which would depend on the upcoming plot…

And Harry is settling in at a place somewhere in Japan…presumably in Tokyo area…
