Oliver had gone into Pixley to pick up a few farm-related items, leaving his wife at home. She spent most of her time watching TV.
It began raining—not a heavy rain, but a light gentle rain. She got up, looked out the window, and smiled. Then she walked to the front entrance. She slipped off her shoes, opened the door, and walked outside.
She walked slowly in the wet grass. Sometimes, she would stop and rub the grass with her feet. A mud puddle formed in the dirt. Smiling, she girlishly stomped around in it.
Meanwhile, Oliver drove in. He got out of his car—and stared at his wife!
"Hello, dahling!"
"Lisa, what are you doing?"
"I'm valking in the rain."
"I can see that! But why?"
"I love to valk in the rain in my bare feetz! It's so fun. You should try it!"
He shook his head! "Oh, Lisa, you're silly! I'm bringing some things in the house."
He did this. She continued to walk around the yard. After he took his purchases inside, he stood by a window and watched her. Smiling, he walked to the front door. He quickly took his shoes and socks off and placed them where her shoes were. Then he also walked outside.
He met up with her. Seeing him barefooted, she smiled. "Oliver! You decided to join me!"
"I must admit, this is nice!"
"Vhen I vas a little girl, I used to love to valk in the rain barefootsed. Did you ever do that, vhen you vas a little boy?"
"No, I didn't. I guess I had a deprived childhood!"
"Yes, you did, dahling!"
They kissed.
They did this for a few more minutes. Eventually, they went back in the house and dried off.
