Thanks for not responding to my poll -_- (meant for people who followed me), if there was a glitch, then disregard what I said. If you are new to my content, then please do not read Life in Inkopolis Laila. Without further ado, the story.

Chapter: Prologue

I hate my life. My parents are absolutely shit, my brother tried to murder me, and my friends backstabbed me, one of them literally. Maybe I should start at the beginning, it all began that one shitshow of a day.

"I'm heading to school, bye!" I said finally free again for a few hours.

"Alright." Mom said, dad was already at work, probably selling drugs or doing gang work instead though.

Back then, I didn't know my brother was a terrible person, I actually loved the fucker. He was always sweet to me, until I found out who he really was. He always walked to school with me and always helped me when I needed help, honestly, I wonder, now, how he always had that kind of time.

It was only a year ago from then when one of my best friends literally attacked me with a knife, I'll never know whether it was because she had some sort of medical condition or what, but she stabbed my back around three or four times and I was only saved by the only friend I've got left, Monica. If she hadn't called the cops and the ambulance, then I would be dead.

We went through our school day like normal, the only difference was Monica kept eyeing my brother like he was some sort of criminal. When he wasn't around, I asked her what was up; what she said after that haunts me to this day; "He's a murderer, I saw him kill someone!"

At first, I didn't believe her, so she said to follow her after school and I'd get my proof. So, in order to find out if she was telling the truth, I said sure, in hindsight, this could easily have gone wrong for me from that point on, and it did, just not in the way I would've expected.

After school Monica and I followed my brother, Edmund, to wherever the hell he was going, I actually started believing her around a good fifteen minutes of walking as we were getting to a bad part of town where this kind of stuff was common. We watched in horror another seven minutes later as he actually was told by a gang member to kill this one dude in front of his family. He fucking shot him like an executioner would shoot someone with a gun.

About eighteen minutes later we saw him dealing drugs to people and killing the ones who couldn't pay on time. We pretty much recorded and spied on him for a few hours and could easily go to court against him and his gang and get them all thrown in jail for life, the only problem? We couldn't get away without being caught and we knew no one would believe us in the slightest.

There are two reasons for this, one, my brother is seen as a goodie two shoes and is very popular, and two, the local police, as we have seen and recorded, are very corrupt and will listen to my brother and his gang and turn a blind eye to them torturing and murdering people, including ourselves.

We didn't think things through and were eventually caught by some random grunt. We ran like hell was on our heels. In a way, it kind of was, but before we could get to cover, Monica was shot in the leg. It's important to note that I have all of the evidence, but my brother probably thought Monica had the evidence because she wanted to be a reporter.

She pretty much told me to go on without her, but I couldn't do that to her, so I grabbed her and, just like in a Star Wars movie, every single shot they fired after that missed us entirely, just like a bunch of freaking storm troopers, I still get a kick outa that one.

We made it to the courtyard where a police officer, the only non-corrupt one with how lucky we were, saw what was going on and offered to take us to the nearest safe place, I told him to take Monica to the hospital and gave her the evidence, we swapped phones and Ed saw that. That officer saved Monica's life, but both had to watch in horror, as they were driving away, as Edmund literally ran me over with a bus that had a spike on the grill, think one of those flat nosed school busses, but with a spike attached to the middle of its grill.

That was my last moment on Earth, the only part of that bus that actually hit me was the spike, I still have the scar to prove it, right above my belly button. I'm not sure if I was teleported or if my conscious was transported to a different body, though probably the former, but after that blinding flash of light I was in a forest and hit my head pretty hard on the ground, that knocked me out cold.

When I finally came to, I had no idea where I was, how long I'd been out, or if I was still on Earth, but one thing was certain, I wasn't in that forest anymore.

"Look's like you're finally awake, how are you feeling?" ? asked.

"Where am I?" I asked, "Who am I?"

A lot is going to happen in the chapters to come, brace yourselves! I accept any form of constructive criticism, but any outright bullying won't be allowed and most likely deleted, if I can delete it that is, if not then I will just outright ignore you. Here's to a fresh new start to my fanfiction making and a new hope that I won't suck as badly as last time.
