Hey guys Novablade here again. Took down Naruto Akkipuden because I'm going to switch up the story a little. This is a rewrite of that story, but there will be some obvious differences. Hopefully this story won't be too boring or just overall bad. For those of you coming to read this story keep in mind that most of my stories are oc focused and that I'm not the best at intricately describing fight scenes, I'll do my best to though. If you find my writing lackluster, I tried at least. Constructive criticism is more than welcome just.. no flaming reviews about how bad my writing is and how the story sucks. if you feel the need to do that, I will ask you to refrain from doing so and go read some other story. There are plenty of other and more talented writers aside from me on this site. Those of you who will take the time to read, favorite, and follow this story I greatly appreciate it.
This is a crossover between Naruto, Fairy Tail, and Saint Seiya to an extent. It's mainly a Naruto/FT crossover with elements from Saint Seiya and Dbz. I don't know if I will bring in any of the Saint Seiya cast however, we'll see how the story progresses. As for Fairy Tail, I will only be using a few characters. I may possibly use Gray, but I think I will for sure use wendy as she's one of my favorites. Natsu's most likely in. As for what role he'll play.. that's to be determined. Anyways that's enough ranting for now, enjoy the story!
Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail, Naruto, Saint Seiya, Dbz/Dbs or any of the characters from said series. Those belong to their respective creators. I only own the oc's that appear in this story.
Chapter 1: New beginnings
Our story takes place just outside of the elemental nations. It is to the east of the Land of Lightning that we find ourselves. A family of about 5 is seen traveling on a boat away from their home country. The family of 5, plus their friends (who also have two children of their own) are seen talking to a large scaled creature.
What is this creature you might ask? This creature is none other than the Fire Dragon King himself, Igneel. Igneel is seen speaking to a man with Crimson hair, a beard, dark skin, and Golden yellow eyes. He was dressed in a black shirt, a matching belt and pair of pants, beige boots, and gray gloves. This man was Derek Dragonblade, a good friend and ally of Igneel's. Next to him was his wife, Katsura and their 4 children. Katsura was tan skinned, with beautiful white eyes with a hint of lavender surrounding them, black hair, and wore clothes consisting of deep reds and golden yellows. She also had a crimson pendant hanging from her neck like her children did.
"I take it you're leaving, Igneel?," Derek asked.
The Dragon nodded. He didn't want to leave Natsu here all on his own. That's when he got an idea.
"Derek would you mind doing me a favor?," Igneel asked.
Derek and Katsura nodded, they'd do anything for igneel. He was their friend, after all.
"Of course, Igneel.," Derek replied.
"What do you have in mind, Igneel?," Katsura asked.
Igneel wasn't sure about what he had in mind, but it was worth a shot asking them. He was sure they'd understand once he explained the situation to them.
"I'm rather worried for that boy. I don't like the thought of him being alone, but I can't stay to watch him. Would you two mind looking after this child while I'm away?," The fire dragon asked.
He didn't even have to wait that long for their immediate answer to his request. Both of them nodded.
"Of course we'll look after him. Natsu is like a nephew to us, he's just as precious to us as our own children are.," Katsura said.
"And.. I'm sure our own kids wouldn't mind their cousin living with them for awhile, I think they'd relish it actually.," Derek answered.
This caused the Dragon to smile, now he could leave the rest up to two of his dearest friends. He could leave without regrets now. The Dragon regarded his two friends once more before he disappeared. When he did so, it was like he vanished into thin air without a trace. They felt sure they would eventually see Igneel again someday, until then, they simply had to wait until then.
Looking forward, the two then scooped up a sleeping Natsu and set out from their home country. They'd heard of another continent they could settle down on and that was good for raising a family. Plus Igneel thought it would he good for natsu to experience the outside world, maybe he could learn a few things.
The young boy opened his eyes and started to panic when he no longer saw igneel around. This only lasted a short while until he saw people he recognized for some reason, but he couldn't think of why until they spoke up that is. Katsura was the first one to speak.
"Natsu, you know who we are right?," the woman asked.
The boy momentarily stopped crying as he nodded and managed a small response to Katsura's question.
"U-uncle Derek... and A-Aunt Katsura? W-What are you doing here?," Natsu responded a little surprised.
Derek took over and explained to Natsu that Igneel was entrusting him to their care for awhile. As for how long awhile was, they unfortunately didn't get the opportunity to ask the dragon that particular question. Natsu was confused and sad that he didn't get to say goodbye to his dad, but at least he was with people he knew... kinda. He could tell they were good people though and that they'd take good care of him.
Better that these people were his family now rather than being alone. Going through life alone was no fun at all, it was better that he had people to support him. The two families then resumed their journey towards a new land. They were travelling towards the elemental nations. One of the countries there would become their new home for awhile.
Unknown to them, they were being watched by the very being who had overthrown the country they fled from. He had slightly tanned skin, but it was more pale then anything, horns protruded from either side of his head, black silky hair, and red irises to go with black pupils for his eyes. The man chuckled while stroking his beard. He sat upon a half destroyed throne. This man was Tengu Sylverant, the reincarnation of the underworld's God himself.
One of his demons went to go chase after them before Tengu called for them to halt.
"Don't chase them, Alucard. Let them be. They're no threat to us as they are now.," Tengu said smugly.
Alucard halted and returned to his post. He knew better than to defy Tengu's orders. Another Demon by the name of Teraphim came to his side. This demon named Teraphim is the leader of the Demon Generals.
"What would you have us do my lord?," Teraphim asked.
Tengu thought for a moment and then smirked devilishly. A cruel thought crossed his mind just then, one that would prove to be a rather amusing game for them to play.
"I think I'll have THEM handle it. Besides, they've been looking for a reason to return to their master. Tell them they'll be able to if they can crush the Dragonblade family. But, they'll have to wait until that brat, Max, is of age first.," Tengu said chuckling.
The other Demon Generals heard this and all of them agreed, it would be quite amusing to see how this one played out.
" You mean.. You're having Tartaros handle it? That immortal brat Zeref's puppets? I see.. That would be... entertaining to say the least.," Teraphim responded.
He then stood up and prepared to notify the aforementioned group of this plan. Tartaros would agree to this most likely, they were fanatics after all.
" I shall notify them at once, sir.," Teraphim said before scampering off to complete his task.
Tengu chuckled to himself. Although he wouldn't be directly involved, he would certainly be watching things unfold.
"This should be entertaining at least. I may not be directly involved, but this is going to be far too interesting to pass up watching.," Tengu told himself.
Timeskip: Several months later...
After several months had passed, the Dragonblades (plus natsu) and their friends, the Tokyoheim Family were seen on a boat heading towards a particular village in wave country. They didn't know where they were at the time until several shinobi spotted them.
"Hey! You over there!," A passing Villager shouted trying to get their attention.
Derek stopped and addressed the man cordially. The man was a little taken by surprise by how polite this strange man that he'd never seen before was. He regathered himself and refocused on why he had stopped this group of people.
"what are you doing here? I don't think I've ever seen you folks around here before.," The young man said.
Derek took note of this and gave him an apologetic smile, as well as an explanation for their visit to the land of waves.
"Oh do forgive us sir. We're simply passing through on our way to finding a new place to call home.," He replied.
This intrigued the village man, he was curious now. He inquired as to why they were searching for a new place to live. This was due to his curiosity. Katsura took over and relayed to him the events that led to their two families having to flee their now former home country.
"D-Demons?! That's... a stretch for me to believe but.. I can tell you're not lying either. Might I ask where you're heading towards?," The young man responded.
Derek and Katsura looked at each other for a moment before nodding to each other as if they came to an agreement. Derek then continued.
"We're heading towards Konoha. We've heard tale that it's an ideal place to raise a young family like ours.," Derek answered gesturing to his children.
The villager looked at their kids and he could tell that they were really young. These people weren't bad people and they didn't mean any harm either. After mulling it over for a moment or two, the young man decided to let the two families go on their way. There certainly wasn't any harm in doing so, right?
Derek and Katsura thanked the young man for his gesture and promised that they'd make it up to him and his family someday. They didn't know it at the time, but that would be the last time they ever saw the young man named Kaiza. They would keep there promise.. but not for another 9 years.
Back on the road, Derek walked alongside his wife. It looked like she had something on her mind and he just wanted to check on her.
"Is something the matter, dear?," Derek asked concerned.
Katsura said nothing. She was unable to answer because she wasn't sure how Derek would respond if she told him what was on her mind. Then again... He was her husband. And Derek was generally very understanding of his wife. Any hard thing she'd ever gone through since they'd been married, he was always there to support her and lend an ear to listen.
Derek could venture a guess what was on her mind just by the look on her face. He knew what that look meant, lingering nerves. Course, you could hardly blame her. She was going to see the clan she effectively abandoned years ago in order to start a family with Derek.
"Are you nervous, dear?," Derek asked.
Katsura sighed and then proceeded to answer her husband.
"I'd be lying if I said I was completely calm and not the least bit nervous.," Katsura answered.
Derek nodded in understanding. He knew what his wife must be feeling. The fact she belonged to such a prestigious clan, abandoning it to be with him, and now having to face the very people she'd remained hidden from for years.. all of that must have been getting to her as she looked a little more upset than usual.
He slowly rubbed his wife's back in an effort to soothe her fear and anxiety. This also reminded Katsura that Derek had her back no matter what. Truth be told, she wasn't sure how the head of the clan would take this news, that was something she was still a little intimidated by.
After weeks of traveling on foot, they finally made It to their destination. Large Green wooden doors were at the entrance to the village. When they came up to the gate, two shinobi halted their progress.
"Hey there, can't have you entering the village so easily. what business do you have in our village?," a shinobi named Kotetsu asked sternly.
Katsura stepped forward and gave them their reasoning for coming to Konoha. The other shinobi named Izumo widened his eyes upon seeing Katsura. It was like he recognized her from somewhere. Where would be the question. That was until she opened her eyes.
"Izumo, are you seeing this?," Kotetsu asked a little shocked.
"umm... yeah. Her eyes are..."Just like a hyuga's , right?," Izumo added.
"This mean she belongs to THAT, clan?," Kotetsu added.
Derek cleared his throat to get the shinobi's attention. It worked as both turned to face the families again. Katsura addressed them again.
"Please sirs, we heard Konoha is a safe haven to raise young families. If you would let us in, we would appreciate it. My children have already been faced with life threatening danger and I would like for my kids to avoid that for awhile. My husband and I would prefer to keep and raise our kids safely without them feeling like someone could come to hunt them with the intent to kill.," Katsura pleaded.
Kotetsu and Izumo were surprised, this woman's children already had their lives threatened? They could tell she wasn't lying even if her story did seem far fetched. They looked to each other and nodded.
" Well, we're normally not allowed to let just anyone inside the village. But, you seem like trustworthy people. So go on in.," Kotetsu said.
"Welcome to Konoha, the village hidden in the leaves.," Izumo said letting the two families through.
As soon as they were through the gates and into the village, they saw just how different Konoha was compared to what they were used to. Of course, when they entered the village many of Konoha's citizens were staring at them. One couldn't blame them for being curious though, they'd never seen these people before and they were dressed kind of odly too. One quick look and you could tell that the group of two families weren't from the land of fire.
They were greeted by a group of Anbu Black Ops sent by the Hokage to escort them. Derek and Katsura of course complied, as did their friends, Reynar and Yang Lyn.
As they made their way towards the Hokage building, Katsura noticed that they were getting some rather hateful glares from some of the villagers. This was resolved by her glaring back at them viciously, something the villagers weren't expecting her to do. What was their deal anyway? They'd done nothing wrong, so why the need for the hateful treatment towards a couple of new families to the village?
Thankfully, they reached their destination before anything else could happen. They were escorted inside the building and then were subsequently taken directly to the Hokage's office. Once inside , the Anbu left them alone with the Hokage.
An elderly man with a white haori that read 'fire' in Japanese lettering stood with his back to them peering out of the window. He then turned and smiled at them, insisting that they take a seat. Both families complied, albeit cautiously. They took note that this man was not hostile in any way and relaxed a bit. The man with gray hair and a beard then spoke up and greeted them.
" You'll have to forgive my men for such a rude escort here. I can assure you that was never my intention. Some of them are just a bit... skeptical of newcomers to the village is all.," The man assured them.
"You could've fooled us..," Both couples thought sarcastically.
The man addressed them again.
" Ahem! I am Hiruzen Sarutobi and I am the Hokage of this village. In other words, I lead this village. Are you familiar with the ranks of military here at all?," Hiruzen added.
Derek nodded. He only knew because his wife, Katsura, was formerly a shinobi of Konoha in her younger years before marriage and motherhood.
"Yes actually. You have Genin, the lowest rank... The one for beginners. Chunin, a step above Genin, as they are responsible for several other things that a genin just can't handle yet. Jonin, otherwise known as Instructors or the most elite of the shinobi corps. They're the ones who take on all of the more troubling missions and so forth. And finally, the Kage rank. which you have. That's reserved for the leaders of the hidden villages. That sound correct?," Derek explained.
To say Hiruzen was pleasantly surprised was an understatement. He didn't show it though, he had to maintain his composure for potential new residents after all. He had to set an example for new residents of Konoha to follow after all. So he recomposed himself and spoke up in response to Derek's explanation.
" Very well done. I'm a little surprised you know so much of how our village runs though. How is it you know so much of how our shinobi system and how it works here? I'm rather curious to know.," Hiruzen said.
Derek smiled at the man and was honest with him. It made no sense to lie about how he knew, besides, he got the feeling that he could trust this elderly man.
"Well Third Hokage sir, I do have a helpful spouse who's originally from this village.," Derek said while smiling at Katsura who returned the gesture.
Hiruzen looked at the two and connected the dots. It made sense now. So Derek and this woman named Katsura were married. As he looked at Katsura and saw her eyes his own eyes widened.
"Those eyes... hm... Only one clan has eyes that particular color. Could she be-? No, it couldn't be. But... those eyes... There's no mistaking that eye color and that chakra. She has to be one of them.," Hiruzen thought.
Katsura looked to the Hokage, something was obviously on his mind. But she decided against asking him as that would be rather rude. Hiruzen then refocused on the issue he had meant to inquire about.
"What business do you have for living here in konoha, if I may be so bold to ask?," Hiruzen questioned.
Derek then relayed the events that'd led to the coming to the leaf village. Hiruzen was rather surprised lean that there was such a powerful enemy possibly within the ranks of their own citizens. It was rather disconcerting and alarming.
" I see... That's certainly a stretch for me to believe, but you're not lying either so I'll let this slide just this once.," Hiruzen told them.
He realized that they didn't have a place to stay, so he offered to find them a place for now. Fortunately, he knew of just the place. It was rather small, but it would do for the moment.
The place he had them take to live in was a set of small apartment rooms next door to each other. He knew the landlady wouldn't object to more tenants, so long as they could pay the rent on time. When the two families walked into their respective apartments, they were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the rooms were. They both had living rooms, a kitchen, some furniture, a couple of bedrooms, 2 small bathrooms (with a sink, tub, furnished flooring, and running water)and a mirror. They had all the necessary things. However, both couples knew that as their children grew, the time would come where they would have to find a bigger living space.
Since both the Dragonblade family and the Tokyoheim Family had known each other for years, they considered each other much like family in a way. Derek didn't know at the time, but his surname would carry a lot of weight in future dealings with village leadership. Several members of his own clan resided in konoha and even had a settlement inside the village.
The Dragonblade clan was fairly new to Konoha, but they had quite the reputation. In fact, there were several other clans within the village that were very influential. If his clan heard of his living situation, that would be a giant debacle in itself. That was the reason why he'd chosen not to have his living situation publicly revealed. Things would stay this way for at least another 4 years, until then, both families were happy. This was a sort of New beginning for them after escaping the situation in Sylverant that was less than ideal.
As for what happens next, that is a story for the next time... To be continued in Chapter 2: Fateful first meeting, Katsura confronts her past.
Hey guys hope you enjoyed the first chapter of the rewrite! Decided that I'd go a different route with the story this time. As I stated in the author's note at the beginning, I don't yet know how much of the Fairy Tail cast will be appearing in this story. Also forewarning Natsu will be... not quite the same as in cannon, he'll be smarter and may seem a bit ooc sometimes. That's mainly cuz I don't know what role he'll have in the story just yet lol. As for the Saint saiya cast I'm not sure if they'll make an appearance or not, we'll see how the story develops.
Anyways I am going with some... different kind of pairings this time around. I've toyed around with the idea but I just can't find a better pairing for Naruto where he's not with Hinata. So not to worry Naruhina fans that pairing is staying. As for Sakura, I have one in mind for her cuz.. let's face it, Sasuke/Sakura really wasn't the best of pairings lol. Speaking of Sasuke I think I have an... interesting option for him. I'll have to see how it plays out though first. And this is an AU story so... Neji survives to be with TenTen. Rock Lee I have a pairing for him too.Anyways that's enough about pairings. I'm taking a little bit of a different approach to this story so hopefully I can at least keep it interesting for you guys. leave a review or pm me on how I can keep the story entertaining. That's all for me. See ya in the next chapter!
