Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story arc picks up where the last chapter left, in which Komaru suddenly appeared and is being targeted by an amazon, so Makoto and Fenrir raced in to save her…
And now expect this chapter to be action-packed as Naegi goes into action as he protects Komaru from the enemy…

Ch. 26: Riekiaihan
The scene shifts inside the tunnel, where the Amazon finished his meal, and is now eyeing Komaru, and the younger teen girl became more and more terrified as the monster slowly stalk his way towards her, salivating as he is ready for another crash course, and Komaru tells the Amazon to stay away from her, only to growl in reply, as it cannot be reasoned with.
"RRRAAHHH!"
"No!"
"RRRAAHHH!"
"Stay away from me!"
"RRRAAHHH!"
"Don't!"
"RRRAAHHH!"
"Someone help me!"
Komaru was on the verge of tears as the Amazon is closing in, and is about to pounce her when Fenrir arrived, with Naegi ramming the motorcycle and knocked the Amazon aside, and when he took off his helmet and is ready for action, he checked on the victim to see if she is okay and unharmed, which Komaru turn and see who saved her.
The two teens stared in surprise as they recognized one another, and the Naegi siblings are reunited, but Makoto was surprised as he is sure that Komaru died after turning into an Amazon, and he approached her and asks how she survived, but this only baffled her in reply.
"Komaru...?"
"Onii-chan...?"
"How...?"
"Onii-chan!"
"This can't..."
"Onii-chan! It's really you!"
"Why...why are you...?"
"Onii-chan!"
Meanwhile, Ikusaba took out her weapons and shoots down the Amazon, which only partially caused him to back away, and soon she is joined by Soda, as he brought more high-powered weapons and starts shooting the monster, and as the two Fenrir members keep the Amazon busy, Makoto asks Komaru what is she doing here and why is she alive after she died a few days ago along with their parents.
Komaru blinked her eyes in confusion and tells her that she just came back from a trip in Kyoto and is on her way to her house, and asked what he mean about their parents being dead, and Makoto glanced at his younger sibling, and looking at her eyes, he sees that she is not lying and noticed that she is not showing signs of becoming an Amazon, as well as she is being targeted by another Amazon.
He had a bad feeling about this.
"So you're saying...that you were...at another town...alone...?"
"Yeah..."
"And you haven't seen our parents for...several weeks...?"
"That's right..."
"..."
"Onii-chan...what...what is..."
"Komaru..."
"What...?"
By then Izayoi came and told Makoto to help the others deal with the Amazon, and he nodded as he tells Izayoi to take Komaru to safety which Izayoi nodded and said that he will get her out of here while urging him to get rid of that Amazon before it escape and feast on more people and it would result in a mass panic which Fenrir is trying to avoid.
Makoto nodded as he tells Komaru to go with Izayoi so that she would be safe from harm, but a baffled Komaru asks what is he going to do, but he tells her that he will explain later and urged her to go at once before things go out of control.
"Komaru...go with him and get to safety."
"Eh? What are you...?"
"I...got work...to do..."
"Eh?"
"I'll explain later...I just need for you to stay safe!"
"Onii-chan!"
"Just go! Izayoi-san...take her get to safety!"
"Onii-chan!"
As Izayoi escorts Komaru towards the van, she saw Makoto stood in front of the Amazon looking ready to confront it, and she momentarily stopped as she realized what he is about to do, and is about to go to her brother's side, but Izayoi tried to restrain and take her away from the scene as he does not want her to get in Fenrir's way.
"Sorry...you can't stay..."
"But...that's my brother!"
"My comrades will back him up."
"Eh?"
"Your brother will explain later...right now you need to get to safety."
"But...but..."
"Come on..."
"Onii-chan...!"
Izayoi carried Komaru over her shoulder and proceeded to ran off, but the Amazon saw them and started to chase them despite Fenrir's attempt to stall it. They fired their weapons at the amazon to stop it from chasing after Izayoi, but the Amazon did not stop and continued to go after its prey.
The Fenrir members are getting a bit worried as Izayoi could not defend himself due to him carrying Komaru, and Ikusaba was forced to go forward to try slowing the Amazon down while telling Soda to bring out his mechanical toys to help stall their target..
"Soda!"
"Yeah?"
"Bring out your toys!"
"Huh?"
"I need assistance! That Amazon is going after Izayoi!"
"Okay, give me a minute!"
"Hurry! The victim will be dragged in!"
"I'm on it!"
Seing that the Amazon is inching closer towards Izayoi, who is also carrying Komaru, Makoto became enraged and puts on the A-Driver, toggled the handle bar and screams out in preparation for his transformation.
"Amazon!"
A-Driver: "OMEGA…"
Makoto's body glowed, and Komaru stared in surprise as she saw her elder brother's body glowing brightly before his transformation is completed, and she stared in shock upon seeing Makoto transforming into Amazon Omega, and he went into action as he engages in combat against the Amazon, who appeared to resembled a human-sized cocoon with arms and legs.
Ikusaba brought out her guns and shoots down the Amazon, but the bullets did little to slow it down, and Soda came out, riding a human-sized mecha armed with high-powered weapons, and tells Izayoi to get away from here while he and the others hold the Amazon down.
"Hey, Izayoi!"
"Huh?"
"We'll take it from here! Get going and take the girl some place safe!"
"Fine."
"At least you get to do something beside playing with knives!"
"Knock it off, asshole!"
"Ha-ha!"
"..."
As the two Fenrir members took turns in stalling the Amazon, Izayoi got up and proceeded to carry Komaru away from the scene of the battle, feeling a bit disappointed that he won't get the chance to use his bladed weapons, but he had to be content in getting a would-be victim out of the line of fire, which would be at least a consolation for not being there to join the battle.
The cocoon-looking Amazon was not deterred and proceeded to go ahead, with Amazon-Omega trying to willed himself to go all-out in order to inflict damage, but this did little to slow it down and he was slapped aside, which he collided against the wall and fell to the ground, and the creature is ready to jump towards his prey.
Seeing Komaru in danger, adrenaline coursed through his body as he became enraged, and out of desperation, Amazon-Omega unleashed spikes from his upper body and went to several directions, hitting the walls of the tunnel, and nearly hitting Ikusaba and Soda. The two Fenrir members could only stare in surprise as they narrowly escaped death as they were just a mere millimeters from getting hit by the spikes.
"Ah!"
"Whoa!"
"Is that...?"
"Don't look at me! I'm just a mechanic...I don't know shit about sci-fi monster stuffs!"
"Makoto Naegi...what is he...?"
"I'm starting to wonder if it's worth the risk having him join Fenrir. Ikusaba, what's your take?"
"I..."
"Guess we leave it to Munakata..."
Izayoi also ducked as he saw the spikes hitting everywhere and he luckily managed to keep Komaru safe, and there he saw the cocoon-looking Amazon being impaled, and pinned against the wall, seemingly killed as it did not move.
Soon Sakakura arrived and is surprised at what he just saw, as Amazon-Omega soon regain his composure and is surprised at what he just did, and unconsciously retracted the spikes back into his body, and the cocoon-looking Amazon fell to the ground, still and seemingly lifeless. Ikusaba and Soda got up and were rather shocked at what they just saw.
They then glanced at Izayoi, and there he gave his two comrades a THUMB'S UP sign, showing that he and Komaru are okay, and there Makoto reverted back to normal, and he is also in shock at what happened moments ago, and there Sakakura approached the teen boy and tells him that he nearly killed the other Fenrir members, which Makoto apologized, saying that everything happened too fast and could not explain why he was able to unleash spikes from his body.
"Hey, what are you trying to do?"
"I..."
"You almost killed my comrades!"
"Sorry...I...sort of...blacked out..."
"So you're saying you lost control?"
"..."
"Either way, you almost killed an innocent victim here."
"..."
As Sakakura reprimanded Makoto, Izayoi carried Komaru out of the tunnel and found an abandoned car, which he picked on the lock and ignition, enabling him to start the car and puts Komaru inside and is ready to leave the scene, but Komaru managed to snap back to reality and asks what is going to happen to Makoto, which he said that he is going to be okay.
Komaru is not quite convinced and asked what happened to him and why he was able to change into a…THING, and why did the taxi driver became a monster, which Izayoi said in reply that it is best that she forget what she saw minutes ago.
"Sorry, kid."
"Eh?"
"Just forget what you saw."
"What...?"
"Never saw, never seen. That's what you should do."
"But..."
"Believe me, kid...it's traumatizing for you."
"..."
Komaru stared in disbelief as Izayoi started to drive the car and moved away from the tunnel, and she glanced behind, seeing Makoto watching her leave, and Komaru could only watch in silence as she is moving away from the tunnel and she kept on watching until her elder bother's appearance was out of her sight.
At the tunnel, Soda uses the mecha to carry the cocoon-looking Amazon and load it onto a makeshift truck that arrived, while Ikusaba watches on as Sakakura tells Naegi that he cannot simply trust him even if Munakata and Makoma states that they vouched for him, and he tells Naegi to think about where he stands, whether he could control his Amazon instincts or not, and once he made his decision, then he can work full-time as a Fenrir member.
Naegi can only stare in silence as he is too shocked and ashamed to reply at Sakakura's sermon.
"Listen, kid..."
"..."
"You need to think where you stand."
"..."
"And whether you could control yourself or not."
"..."
"Once you found your answer, then you can hang out with us. Until then, you're off-limits from Fenrir."
"..."
After that, Sakakura motions Soda to have the Amazon taken to the lab, and they both leave, while Ikusaba stayed behind and offered Naegi some advice on what to do, stating that with his involuntary actions minutes ago, he could put Fenrir and would-be victims at risk and he would become a liability unless he has a clear resolve.
She urged him to think about what to do and if he decides to accept the fact that he is an Amazon and whose side he is on, so that he could earn people's trust.
"Naegi..."
"..."
"You need to think about what happen a while ago. You need to have a resolve."
"..."
"Sakakura is correct, you need to decide which path you should take...and what you should do from this point on."
"..."
"That's all I can say."
"..."
After that, Ikusaba leaves and Naegi is left alone, and is lost in thought on what to do, as he is conflicted on whether to accept his human side or his Amazon side. He thought carefully on what to do and he needed a clear path on deciding what he should do and which path he should take, so that he won't be obstructed by fear and doubt .
Then a sudden thought hit him and decided to take this chance, as he boarded his motorcycle and drives off. He now realized that there is someone who can help him clear his mind, and have the answers that have been plaguing him, and he whispered the name of the person he intend to seek, and confront him head-on so that he would know what to do and what actions he must take.
"Nagito...Komaeda..."

Hope you liked this chapter, and while there is the action showed here is quite brief, the dramatic moments make up for it, and aside from that, it foreshadows what Naegi is about to do next…
