First off, many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here it will highlight on Komaru as she is revealed to be alive, and she is about to get baffled after witnessing the events from the previous chapters…

Moreover, Fenrir are having their hands full as they await Naegi's answer…

Ch. 27: Oba kara no sagi

At Nozoma Pharmaceutical, Makoma is holding the phone and listening to the caller, and she appeared to be quite surprised, yet has little concern when informed about the sudden return of Komaru, which was unexpected, and details of how she got mixed in on one of Fenrir's operations, where she witnessed one of the Amazons, how she nearly got killed, and saw Makoto transforming into Amazon Omega.

Kizakura is drinking a hand-sized bottle of whiskey as he watches on while listening as Makoma instructed the caller to keep Komaru away from her home to keep her from finding out that her and Makoto's parents are already dead due to them becoming Amazons and that Makoto accidentally killed them.

"Then do whatever it takes."

"And what about Komaru?"

"Take her to a safe house…keep her there…and have her escorted back outside Tokyo."

"Aren't you going to tell her about…"

"No. and she must be kept off-limits!"

"Are you sure?"

"You heard me! Now do it!"

"Yes, ma'am."

After that, Makoma ended the call and she sighed in annoyance, as she did not expect this to happen, while Kizakura commented that she now has to deal with her niece, and how to keep her in the dark about what she saw and how to send her away from Tokyo, as Komaru is sure to become a hindrance to Makoma and her involvement with the Amazons.

As cruel as always, Makoma stated that she will use her position as aunt to send Komaru away and is confident that Komaru won't have the guts to defy her, which Kizakura smirked and remind her that Komaru won't be easily swayed this time around.

"Oh, I don't know."

"What?"

"After what she saw…Komaru-chan is surely to…"

"Hmph."

"Huh?"

"That will not be a problem."

"Really now?"

"…"

Makoma sneered and said that she can handle it and there she told him to have preparations ready, as she wants the data on the A-Driver belt that her team confiscated from Nagito, having Ryota treated so he can resume his work with Fenrir, and to keep Makoto in the dark about Komaru's sudden appearance, which Kizakura sighed.

He reminded her that it was her idea to have Komaru sent away in the first place and replaced her with an Amazon, and that Makoto believed to have killed the real Komaru, but Makoma shouted at Kizakura to get to work or KISS HIS JOB GOODBYE, which he smiled sheepishly and raised his hands in passive submission.

"That is enough!"

"…"

"Get to work now!"

"…"

"Or you'll be fired!"

"…"

"Now!"

"…"

As Kizakura left, Makoma sighed in annoyance at the unexpected turn of events, which she now has to deal with, such as Komaru appearing unexpectedly and meet with Makoto, Nagito now in custody and how to deal with the Amazons who are disguised and mixing with the crowd of people all over Tokyo, which she has to rely on Fenrir to dispose them stealthily to keep them from public knowledge, fewting if the Amazons' existence were to be made public, Nozoma Pharmaceutical would be besieged with lawsuits and would drive the company bankrupt.

Elsewhere, Komaru was taken to a safehouse where some of the armed personnel of Nozoma are providing security, and told her that Makoma instructed them to keep an eye on her for safety reasons, but when she asked what is going on after the incident at the tunnel, the armed personnel told to forget what happened and she will be sent back to her dormitory outside Tokyo.

This made Komaru more suspicious as she inquired about Makoto, but she was told to forget what happened and she will be sent back to her dorm, as ordered by Makoma, making it clear that Makoma's decision is final and executory.

"That is that."

"Eh?"

"You will be escorted out of Tokyo."

"But what about Makoto?"

"Forget what you saw."

"But."

"That is all."

"Hey!"

After that, the armed personnel leaves the room as Komaru became more and more baffled, as she could not believe what Makoma did, and when she took out her cellphone to try calling her parents, all she got was a dial tone, meaning that the number she dialled is no longer in service.

By then one of the armed personnel came and confiscated it much to her protests, in which he said that Makoma ordered him to, and that it will remain in Makoma's custody, and this made Komaru infuriated as she demanded that she speak to her aunt, but is told that Makoma is busy and she gave the order to send Komaru back to her dorm outside Tokyo.

"That is that."

"Eh?"

"You will be escorted out of Tokyo."

"But what about Makoto? My parents?"

"Forget what you saw."

"But."

"That is all."

"Hey!"

As the armed personnel left with Komaru's cellphone, Komaru became more and more infuriated, and is now starting to distrust her aunt, and is now planning to sneak out of the safehouse and find out what is going on, as Makoma appeared to forbid her to see her parents and Makoto, especially when told to forget about what she saw at the tunnel.

Komaru then peered through the window and saw several armed personnel are guarding the safehouse and she can hear them talking, where they discussed about Makoma keeping Komaru in the dark about the Amazons, Makoto being born an Amazon, and that Komaru's parents turning into Amazons and killed by Makoto in self-defense.

The armed personnel feels bad that Makoma is attempting to cover up that incident and that she is such a cruel relative to Komaru, yet they have no choice since she is running everything here.

"I feel bad for that girl…"

"You mean Komaru?"

"Yep."

"It's a shame that Makoma is keeping her in the dark."

"That woman is such a bad relative…she intend to keep Komaru ut in the loop about her parents turning into Amazons…"

"And Makoto killed them in self-defense…"

"What can we do? Makoma runs the things here…"

"Yeah…"

Komaru stared wide-eyed upon hearing this, as she could not believe what she discovered, and now she has a legitimate reason to hate Makoma, and she is now determined to find out what is going on, and began planning to sneak her way out and make her own investigation whether her parents are really dead or not.

"Damn you, auntie Makoma…"

At the Nozoma Pharmaceutical, the scene outside shows that it is a multi-story building, which appeared to be a corporate building, and there the scene shifts inside, where the Fenrir members are at the ground floor, as they are told that Ryota is recovering well-enough, but he cannot go into field missions for at least two days.

Munakata was a bit concerned, as his subordinates will be hard-pressed, and that he is unsure if Naegi can be trusted given the boy's present stand on which path he should take, and what his decision will be, and there Sakakura asked what will happen now, which Munakata said that for now their weapons will have to do for the time being, given that Ryota is not medically cleared.

Sakakura stared seriously as he knew what the Fenrir leader is saying.

"Huh?"

"You heard me, Sakakura."

"But…you mean…"

"Until Ryota is cleared, we'll have to rely on our weapons."

"And what about that other kid?"

"Until he has a definite answer…we can't rely on him."

"Really?"

"Yes."

By then Ryota came out and greeted his fellow Fenrir members, and they were relieved to see that he is seemingly okay, though they told him that he will have a day-off, which he whined, but they told him that it is better to rest for two days before resuming their activities, which Ryota conceded.

"Sorry, Ryota."

"You need to rest."

"Yeah. For your own good."

"Eh? But I…"

"Trust us. Once you are rested, you will be better."

"That way you can help us out."

"We are all looking out for each other."

"I see…"

As a male nurse came and escorted Ryota to a recovery area, the Fenrir members pondered on what to do next, though Soda said that the Amazon they fought at the tunnel several minutes ago is dead, thus he said that they can rest for two days, which the others agreed, though they had to admit that they owe it to Naegi's assistance.

Munakata reluctantly nodded, and yet he made it clear that Naegi must show a firm resolve and which path he should choose before deciding to make him a full-time member of Fenrir, which Soda is in favor of letting Naegi join, reasoning that having two Amazon in the team would boost their operations, though Ikusaba said that it would depend on Naegi himself.

"That would depend on Naegi himself."

"Eh?"

"…"

"So we'll have to wait for his answer?"

"Yes."

"Come on…"

"It's for the best."

"…"

Suddenly, Naegi arrived at the building which surprised some of the Fenrir members, and Munakata asked Naegi if he is here to give his answer, which Naegi said that he has no answer as of now, stating that he is here to see someone so he can get answers himself that would help him decide on what to do next, and what his goal should be.

Munakata raised an eyebrow and told Naegi that if he has found the answer then he knows where to find Fenrir, which Naegi nodded, promising that he will give Munakata his answer.

"So then…"

"I'll find the answer."

"If you do…"

"I know."

"Fine."

"…"

"You know where to find us."

"Right."

After that, he went upstairs, to seek someone, and the Fenrir members watches on as they braced themselves on where this would lead to, and hopefully not the path they wanted to avoid.

Hope you like this chapter. Although there's no action here, the drama and intrigue make up for it, and Komaru stole most of the spotlight here, while Naegi is looking for an answer.
