Type that Brood
Hello all! I know, it's been a while, and I'm sorry about that. But, school is done, and I currently have nothing but time on my hands. Honestly, lately, I've been rather uninspired and pretty down on myself, but after reading some amazing reviews, I finally got to this!
The basic premise of this story is growing pains of living with someone, namely, a SO and learning how to handle all the oddities that go with it.
In case you are unaware, here is the order to read these in:
1. Meet the New Girls
2. Fighting for You
3. Sleep Over Fun
4. Date Night
5. Photoshoots and Drama
6. Tender Moments
7. Stress and Anger
8. Moments of Weakness
9. Moving Out Moving In
Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh!, just the plot of these stories.
Enjoy!
2 weeks later, January
Jetta sits at her desk, face set in a scowl and arms crossed over her chest. Yes, she's pouting and brooding. It was over something so stupid, so why am I so mad at him? Jetta ponders as she thinks over said stupid fight. She needs to talk to someone about this, but likewise she didn't want anyone else to think it was stupid. Jetta whips out her phone and calls Téa.
"What's up Jetta?" Téa asks.
"I just need to talk to someone about boyfriend issues." Jetta says before she can stop herself.
"Ok, I'll be there in a flash." Téa chirps before she hangs up.
"I can't believe I just said that." Jetta grumbles as she waits. About ten minutes pass before she hears a light knock on her office door and allows Téa in.
"So what's up?" Téa asks as she takes a seat.
"Promise not to think it's stupid?" Jetta asks.
"Only if you want me to agree." Téa smirks with a nod.
"Ok, so I wanted to put some scented candles in the house, just to make it smell nice, but Seto thought it was stupid. I mean, isn't there such a thing as too pristine?" Jetta asks.
"There can be, but he must have a reason." Téa says.
"His reason was that it was too smelly or something like that. Anyway, I countered with that the home needed to have some sort of emotion or feel too it, which he promptly laughed at and said that was ridiculous. 'Houses don't feel.' He said." Jetta almost hisses.
"Ok, now that was a bit of a dick move." Téa sympathizes.
"I know right? Then I tried to say I was trying to set a mood for the home. He got the wrong impression, for him being a brilliant man, he can be dumb at times. He thought like a romantic slash seductive mood, to which he said that shouldn't be brought out into the home when we haven't even gotten intimate. I tried to explain my point in that I was trying to make the home more welcoming, a friendly mood for the living room, a fresh and energetic mood for the kitchen, relaxed for the bathroom, and so on, but he wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise." Jetta groans.
"Why?" Téa asks.
"Because he was going on a tangent about how much intimacy of any sort that we lack, which I think he's over exaggerating a bit. I'm not going to go into details, but the only things we have not done is the deed itself and any other forms of sexual relations. It's gotten heated before, but nothing more. But you know, twenty year old male." Jetta taunts.
"I'm beginning to understand." Téa sighs.
"Yeah, so I left because I didn't want to listen to his tangent anymore and here I am." Jetta concludes.
"Just a quick question, how many candles did you want to put in each room?" Téa asks.
"Five maybe." Jetta says.
"Maybe it was a bit overwhelming, especially if all in one area." Téa suggest.
"Well, yeah, I guess." Jetta admits.
"Maybe just try two or three and placed at different spots in the room." Téa says.
"Yeah, but first, Seto and I need to you know, compromise." Jetta sighs before she and Téa talk a little longer before they get back to work.
Later that night
Seto walks into his home and sees Jetta standing there patiently. He almost expected her to start berating him like earlier but she was silent.
"Can we talk?" Jetta asks calmly.
"Sure." Seto replies as he slips off his shoes and then walks into the living room with her.
"Look, about this morning. I guess maybe I went a tad bit overboard with how many candles I wanted to put in each room. I guess I just wanted to make the home have a bit more of an inviting sort of feel. I should've taken into consideration that too many can overwhelm the nose." Jetta says. Seto half expected her to go on a rant about what he had said earlier but she didn't.
"So, I've shortened it down to just two maybe three in each room and spread them out." Jetta chirps. Again, she said nothing about his behavior that morning.
"What do you think?" Jetta asks.
"I think I was a total ass this morning. I shouldn't have said what I did, and I shouldn't have exploded at you like that this morning. And that the fact that you aren't even bring it up and are being so caring and sympathetic is making me feel even worse about how I treated you this morning." Seto finally says.
"I thought it over this morning, a lot. I'm just going with the simple fact that you are a young man and have certain…needs…that you're abstaining from because you have a fantastic moral compass. But it built up over time, and it can get difficult from time to time." Jetta says.
"Pretty much. I took that whole mood thing for the house out of context. I like the idea of making the house more welcoming." Seto says.
"I knew you would. You do sometimes have home meetings, so I figured there should be a sense of comfort." Jetta says.
"Yeah, that would help a bit in making sure we don't try to kill each other." Seto laughs.
"I know. I've heard the few meetings you've had here." Jetta smirks before she walks forward and wraps her arms around him.
"Stupid fight." Seto mutters as he returns her gesture.
"Yeah, but that's part of living together." Jetta giggles.
"Does it have to be?" Seto asks as he kisses her forehead.
"No, but it is, even if we don't want it to be." Jetta laughs before she lets out a squeal as Seto picks her up and throws her over his shoulder.
"What are you doing Seto Kaiba?" Jetta yells as he runs up the stairs as she slaps his back.
"Making it up to you." Seto chuckles as they reach their room.
Yes, I wanted to make this slightly silly and trivial. Because, with how I have created Jetta to be, i could see her being the scented candle/oils person. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
