Hey y'all! So here's the deal. I have not written anything in a long time. I lost myself for a while but I'm hoping to get back into it. No, I have not proofread this. I just came across this on my computer and realized it was the next part of a story I once had in my head. There is not much to it really but I thought I'd put it out there and continue on once I figure out exactly where I was going with it!

Thunk!

Henry stopped himself mid sit, inwardly groaning for the third time that morning. The little blue eyed blonde sitting across from him giggled as he rolled his eyes. "Ree! Milk!" she shouted, pointing to the floor enthusiastically jumping in her highchair.

She let out a squeal and clapped her hands together when he reached down and set the sippy cup back in it's holder. He looked her straight in the eyes. "I know what you're doing, Chloe!" he exclaimed before taking a seat, keeping eye contact so he'd have at least a small chance of finishing his meal.

He loved his sister, but he couldn't wait until his mother or step father walked through that door so he could escape the little terror. Every summer morning that went by, he sat here wondering if the few hours a day was worth the car he would soon be inheriting.

He thought about his girlfriend, Violet.

Yes. Definitely worth it.

Thunk!

"Ree! Milk!"

"Chloe!" he growled, snatching the cup from the floor and sitting it roughly in the holder. "Seriously, stop throwing it!"

He suddenly felt guilty when the giggles stopped and was replaced with a whimper and a pout. "I'm sorry," he said softly, picking her up out of the high chair and laying her on his shoulder in an attempt to sooth her as the tears started. He patted her back. "I didn't mean to shout, Clo."

"Sorry," she said in response, laying her head in the crook of his neck.

A second passed.

"Play outside."

It was a demand, rather then a question. It was unusually hot outside and he had no desire to chase a hyperactive two year old around the yard. "Uh-how about we go watch TV for a while?"

Chloe thought for a moment. "Daddy say no."

Henry rolled his eyes. Killian loved television-so much so it was difficult to pull him away after a long day. Harder even to allow anyone else in control of the remote. There mother would just look at him and say, "Just another typical twenty first century man." Nobody usually minded. He tended to pick things they'd be interested in anyway.

"Dad's not here to say no."

Chloe looked in the living room in excitement. "I pick?" she pointed to herself, smiling ear to ear.

"Yep!"

"Popcorn?"

"Uh-you just ate. You don't want to eat too much and get sick, do you?"

"Yes. Popcorn."

An hour late

"Mommy home!"

Henry walked to the door and opened it for his mother just as Emma was bounding up the stairs. He felt the same giddiness his sister was displaying until he saw the familiar look on her face. Not surprisingly she looked exhausted. For the past few months she, along with various other members of their huge family, took turns manning the police station and town borders. Out of no where the spell surrounding the town collapsed once again allowing people from the outside in so they couldn't take any chances of anything 'unnatural' being caught on camera as they worked on making sure everyone was clear on what was and wasn't allowed to be discussed outside of their homes.

"I can cancel my plans," he said, handing his sister over to her where she was settled on her hip.

"Hi, mommy." Chloe reached up with both hands, rubbing Emma's cheeks gently.

Emma grinned. "Hi, Chloe." She turned back to her son. "No, you've been planning this day for a while now. It'll be nap time soon anyway."

"No naps!" Chloe exclaimed, glaring at her mother.

Emma's smile grew. "Oh yes naps!" She tickled her sides, the little girl's screeching laughter ringing through the house. "Lot's of naps!"

Henry looked between them and the door. "Are you sure?"

"Go, Henry. Before we change our mind!"

"Ya, Ree! Go!" Chloe pointed at the door, her face stern.

It took everything Henry had in him to not start laughing. He put his hands up in surrender, backing out the door. "Okay! I know when I'm not wanted!"
