Hello and welcome to the next chapter!
InnocentxPsycho; Yeah, she can be pretty calm around him. Eh, there's many badass powers I can think of, too many to write down~
ThunderFang72; They are yeah! She wasn't no, but she soon will be able to speak to him clearly about that event. Hehe, seems like Ryukyu does quite like him. Mirko will soon show her 'reward' to him~ And thanks!
Weebshitt; Thanks very much! Maybe there was a sneaky little reference in there~
CPU-BLANC-WHITE HEART; Thanks very much! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far~ Yeah, his first day is gonna be quite interesting for him~
Hazzaman; I don't know yet, I might do. And thanks!
ShadowUzumaki55; Thanks very much! They did yeah, they pushed themselves and managed to get into U.A. Hehe, Katsuki and Himiko will have a small rivalry with one another, and yeah, they managed to scare Tenya alright~ Keita and Neito's relationship is going to be quite interesting~ Itsuka and Keita will have some moments quite soon~ Ibara's gonna be fun to have around~ Glad you liked it! Yeah maybe~
treeofsakuras; Thanks for the suggestions~
Guest 1; Yeah, if I did an Avatar story, Ty Lee would be in the pairing, being their sibling could be fun.
Reviewer Requiem; That would be pretty cool~ I could see Nejire being quite like that with any younger brother that she had.
Clarent excalibur; Yeah, as long as she knows how it works, that's how she's able to use the Quirk from what we've been told. I could see Mei being able to create something like that. Haha, Katsuki's gonna have a few more nicknames with people~
Guest 2; I could see Katsuki doing that.
Guest 3; That would be a pretty cool way for Himiko and whoever she's partnered with to win the battle.
Guest 4; I could totally see Mirio and Nejire doing something like that.
Silver crow; Thanks very much! Yup, they got encouragement~ Hehe, they're gonna be pretty interesting friends huh. We'll see what Mirko means with that. They did yeah, Ryukyu seems to like him, and Nejire finds him quite cute~ Keita will at least try and help them get on. Haha, Katsuki wasn't quite pleased with being with Himiko. Maybe Aizawa will yeah. Keita and Neito's relationship is gonna be quite fun to explore. He did seem to recognize her face, but couldn't place it. He did yeah, Keita's growing stronger. Eri was quite adorable huh~? Himiko did yeah, she might not be a powerhouse, but she's not gonna sit back and simply immobilize them. There were others around, so he wanted to make sure that it was safely contained at that point. Ibara's gonna have some fun with Keita. Yup, seems like Nejire and Ryukyu quite like him. I suppose they'd be interested to see that yeah. Katsuki and Eri seemed to hit it off~ Yup, they scored pretty high, and yeah, Nighteye showed he was proud of him. Yeah, she'd probably not want to show people that. We'll see who he fights with and goes against pretty soon~ Keita and Endeavour's relationship is going to be...unique because of Keita's own past, and how Endeavour is. Haha, we'll see what happens with Keita and Shoto during that arc. He could help Momo with that yeah~ Yeah maybe they'll end up president and vice president~ Yeah maybe he could be. In this story probably not. That's if he meets Sir Nighteye. A pure Villains one, could be interesting.
Max; Yeah maybe~
Guest 5; That would be a cool name for Himiko. I do like that outfit~
Guest 6; Yeah, they could show up~ She could have some of a chapter dedicated to her like that.
Guest 7; Itsuka being on his team would be great~
Guest 8; I'm sure Miss Joke would want that~
Guest 9; Hmm, that would be an intriguing idea, I'll have to think about it~
Guest 10; Maybe Keita will find out then, or just before the Sports Festival~
Guest 11; Rewrite could be his Hero name, it sounds good to me.
6U35T; It's gonna be a fun day yeah~ Eeh, she probably wouldn't. He did meet Kirishima last chapter, and will again this chapter. Yeah, they'll be friends. Yeah maybe~
Guest 12; I could think of a few ways for her to discover that in this story, maybe she might figure it out during the USJ arc. That sounds good to me~
Guest 13; I do plan to do a fic like that one day, don't know when yet though.
Andrew123456; Thanks for the votes!
Well, with those lovely reviews out of the way, it's time to start the chapter!
The first day!
The morning for Keita to finally begin U.A was here.
He right now though laid in his bed, thinking about many different things. How happy he was that he could finally begin meeting new people...though he had to admit to himself that was rather...unsure of how he was going to feel when going into said setting.
He wasn't used to being around new people, it took a while to get truly used to being around Sir Nighteye, and Mirio, and a few others.
He was also curious about how he was going to go through the day…
Shaking his head, he went towards the bathroom adjacent his bedroom.
Looking into the mirror, Keita hummed a song to himself as he got ready for the day.
Putting on the tap, allowing water to fill the sink, his hands dipped into the water, putting his face down into it, and ran the water over his face, wondering how the day was going to go, how he was going to interact with other students.
It was so new to him that even he wondered if he'd be able to speak to other people normally.
When his thoughts turned to that, from his hands, energy like sparks began to flow through his hands, he felt a sudden feeling deep inside.
He didn't know what it was, but it wasn't pleasant.
He could feel something going through his body.
"Ngh...what is this..."
As he went to question it, his window suddenly opened, revealing it to be Mirko herself.
"Hey there boy, what's going on?"
Keita felt the weird feeling disappearing from him, turning to Mirko who showed a wide grin on her face.
Keita gave her a curious look.
"Sneaking through my bedroom, that's quite bad of you Mirko-san~"
He teased her, with an innocent smile spreading across his face, enticing Mirko all the more.
Mirko matched the teasing tone that Keita used, jumping closer, placing a hand to his face.
"My, you can become quite a tease. An innocent tease, that just makes me feel more happy than anything else~" Mirko's hand slid across his waist, and pulled him closer. "So, ready for your first day of school?"
"I think so."
Mirko raised an eyebrow.
"How odd, is there a touch of troubled feelings in your tone? I'm surprised."
"It's not like I'm worried." He confessed, feeling Mirko's hand resting on his lower back. "It's just, I've never been to class before, I keep wondering what it's going to be like."
"I can see why that would be quite troublesome for someone who's lived mostly in isolation. But, I wouldn't worry, there will be people there with all sorts of personalities. But, you've got a good, albeit funnily weird personality, allow that to shine, and you'll be able to cope with anything. Hell, you coped with lots of things in your life, just tackle it like you did anything else."
Mirko's advice didn't fully relieve him.
But, it was something that did calm down his heart a good deal.
"Thank you, Mirko-san."
Mirko cupped his chin, and grinned.
"Now, it's time for your reward."
"Re...ward?"
"Don't you remember? I promised I'd reward you if you got into U.A."
Keita did recall that, but he didn't think she was being all that serious.
But she now was leaning closer, her lips giving a mixture of a teasing and pleasing smile.
"Mirko-san..."
Mirko leaned closer and closer, Keita thought that she was going to end up kissing him.
When her lips got in close, there was a knock at his bedroom door, stopping Mirko.
[Keita, are you awake?]
It was Sir Nighteye's voice.
"Yes, I'm awake!"
[Then, I've attempted to make breakfast.]
Keita chortled.
Since usually it was Keita who was the one that cooked.
"Okay, I'll be right there!" Keita's eyes landed upon Mirko who looked displeased. "I have to go, Mirko-san."
Mirko smirked, then jumped to the window.
"Next time, boy."
With that, she turned and jumped out of the window, leaving Keita alone in his bedroom.
Keita wondered more about what that feeling was.
But, he wasn't going to allow it to ruin his day.
Later on, Keita stood outside of the school, the large building that was full of life. Students bypassed him as he stood near the gates. Stood beside him was Himiko (dressed in the U.A's version of her usual school girl outfit), Sir Nighteye, Eri, along with Mirio who also was in his uniform.
Keita looked down at his own clothes, brushing off some of it, coming to terms what was currently happening.
This was it.
He was beginning his first day of school.
He hadn't ever gone to school before.
He hadn't interacted with so many new people before.
He wondered how this day was going to go.
"Keita, is something wrong?"
Keita snapped out of his thoughts, turning to Sir Nighteye, and waved a hand in front of his face.
"Nope, nothing at all~ This is just new to me, I've never been to a class before. I'm not sure how it's going to work."
Himiko gave a cute girly giggle, and hugged him from the right hand side.
"Hehehehe, you're so cute Kei-chan~ Don't worry, I'll take care of you~"
Mirio gave a dazzling smile.
"Yes! Don't worry young Keita-kun! It's going to be alright! Aizawa-sensei's already been informed about your..situation together with Himiko-san, but don't worry. He might be scary sometimes, he's got a heart of a..."
"Scary tiger."
Himiko finished off, Mirio raised an eyebrow.
"Eh...I'd say more like man of the night, he operates at night and teaches during the day."
"Hehe, well that's alright~"
Mirio raised a brow at the young woman, while Keita gave a comforting smile to Eri.
"Eri-chan, I'm going to go into school now. Remember, be a good girl for Sir Nighteye-san, okay? When I'm finished, we'll play together, okay?"
"Kei-chan...okay Kei-chan, goodbye."
Keita could see that she seemed sad. Probably because it would be the first time they'd be spending an entire day away from each other since they first met all that time ago.
Though he was sure that Eri would be looked after by Sir Nighteye, he still was worried about...no, rather, he just wanted to make sure that she'd be alright.
"Then we're off." Mirio said, placing a hand on both Himiko's and Keita's shoulders. "I have to get off to my own class, but I'm sure you'll excel with POWER!"
Mirio did the pose, which set Keita's heart at ease.
Then they walked towards the building, with Keita taking a last glance at Eri, who seemed to be quite sad.
He could hardly take it, he wanted to go back and make sure that she was okay.
He knew she was, but seeing her sad like that did depress him.
Keita then went into the school with Himiko.
"First time I've set foot in school, since middle school finished."
Keita raised his brows.
"Is that so?"
"Yeah, the last day I went to middle school, it wasn't that great of an experience. But, wow Kei-chan! I can't wait for this day to begin! I'm sure that it's going to be amazing day! We'll meet so many people!"
Keita knew they would be, he wondered how he'd handle the situation since this was the first time he'd be meeting people his age.
During the Entrance Exam, he could focus on that...
But this was a bit different to that.
While not nervous...he was questioning what would happen now.
But then, Keita saw Neito walking towards him, and jabbed a finger towards him.
"Hey it's you!"
Keita blinked as Neito walked closer.
"Hey, it's you."
Neito folded his arms, peering into the eyes of Keita.
"Are you in Class 1B?"
"No, Class 1A."
Neito exhaled slowly.
"I-I see...good! Because, I'm sure you'd lose to me if we shared a class! Hahahahaha!"
Keita blinked curiously, while Himiko skipped closer.
"Wow, you're quite energetic. But, your eyes tell me you're more relieved than anything~"
Neito backed away slowly, Himiko stuck out her tongue.
"W-Well, that doesn't matter! I've got to go and excel in my class now!"
Neito then turned and ran away, Himiko cocking her head curiously.
"Weird huh Kei-chan?"
"He's certainly...unique."
Himiko giggled, and then began walking again, Keita following.
Itsuka, who was going to her own classroom, saw Keita heading for Class 1A, and then looked at her own sheet, telling her she's in Class 1B. She was slightly disheartened, but she shrugged, and thought they'd still be able to see each other during the day at lunch, so she was alright with it, though she saw Neito going to her class, and sighed, placing a hand to her forehead.
"This is going to be difficult..."
Murmuring that out, Itsuka walked to her classroom as did Keita with Himiko.
When making it to the door for their classroom, Himiko just pulled it open and immediately, he saw the blue haired boy that was back at the Entrance Exam strolling up, moving his arms as if he was a robot.
"Hello, and good day fellow class member! My name is Tenya Iida, and I am..."
He stopped when seeing Himiko's smile spreading across her face.
"Hello, do you remember me?"
Tenya's face dropped to the point that Keita thought he was going to pass out from seeing the scary smile that was on Himiko's face.
"Y-Yes...g-good day, we're in the same class...that's great...w-wonderful to see you again..." He looked beyond Himiko, and saw Keita waving kindly, his face dropping even more. "...y-you too, hello..."
"Good day~"
Tenya bowed his head, and backed off, allowing the pair to enter quicker.
Once inside, Keita overlooked the students that had appeared already, seeing a boy with a lightning bolt through his hair, a girl with pink skin and horns, a frog like girl that Himiko seemed to be gravitating towards.
"Hello!" Himiko giggled, leaning her elbows on her desk. "My names Himiko Toga, you're super cute~"
The frog girl blinked several times, before giving off a kind smile.
"Hello ribbit. My name is Tsuyu Asui."
"Awwwww, Asui-san is adorable~ And that ribbit, so delightful~ I might just have to hug you Asui-san!" Himiko leaned closer, her face inches from Tsuyu's own. "I can tell, we're going to be such good friends~ Call me Himiko~"
Tsuyu cocked her head to the right hand side.
"Yes, I hope we will ribbit. Please call me Tsuyu."
Keita smiled, glad that Tsuyu was as kind as she was, not being put off in the slightest by Himiko's way of speaking or how she smiled wickedly, he himself loved everything about Himiko, but he did know that some could be weirded out by her, but Tsuyu seemed to be quite happy with Himiko.
Keita continued into the classroom, his eyes scanning through the different members of the class.
One girl, the girl with pink skin, saw Keita walking through, and her face curled upward.
"Ooh yeah, he's definitely a cutie~" She cried happily in her mind. "That adorable face, his lips, his hips, his broad chest, his innocent demeanour...everything is so nice~ So lovely for Mina~" The newly named Mina stood up from her desk, and jumped towards Keita, doing a spinning dance and landed just before him. "Hey there! My name is Mina Ashido! Call me Mina!"
Keita blinked, before giving a grin.
"Hey! My names Keita Chisaki Mina-san, please call me Keita!"
Mina was blown away with the way that his voice sounded, how soft and comforting it was.
"I see, then Keita-kun~ Where have you been hiding yourself, huh~?"
"Underground~"
Mina blinked, not really understanding what Keita was referring to, she thought it was a joke, and just laughed.
"Haha, you're so funny~"
Keita took a step back, his eyes dancing between bemusement and curiosity.
"I am?"
"Yup! So, we're U.A students huh~? Guess that means, we'll be seeing a lot of each other~"
"I guess so~"
They talked for a minute or so, seemingly enjoying one another's company, Himiko noticing that Mina seemed to be looking Keita over a few times, and just smirked to herself about it.
Keita then bowed his head, and said his goodbyes to Mina, moving forward through the classroom.
Seeing different people in the classroom, he wondered who he should approach, or if he should approach anyone at all.
However, he then saw a guy with a birds head, seemingly staring out of the window.
Keita became intrigued, and walked closer to the young man.
Sitting down before him, Keita watched him, as he did the same thing to Keita.
Their eyes met, and neither said a thing.
Keita then nodded, and smiled.
"The darkness is vast."
The boy looked at Keita with a raised eyebrow, then gave a serious nod.
"Indeed. Darkness is eternal."
"Very correct, my names Keita Chisaki, what's yours? If you don't mind me asking."
"Fumikage Tokoyami."
"Tokoyami-san, it's quite the name, I think it fits you quite well~"
"Yes...thank you."
Keita and Tokoyami then began a conversation, most were amazed that someone was bright and warm as Keita could speak to someone like Tokoyami who seemed to be quite less warm, though not cold.
After speaking with Tokoyami for half a minute, a boy with red hair saw the sight of Keita, recognizing him from the Entrance Exam, and strolled closer.
Keita noticed him, and turned with a grin.
"Hey, it's you!"
"Yeah, my names Eijiro Kirishima, I saw what you did back at the Entrance Exam, I have to say, it was so manly!"
"Thanks very much~ My names Keita Chisaki, please call me Keita!"
"Eeh, sure Keita-kun!"
Keita overlooked Kirishima, glancing at Himiko who by now was hugging Tsuyu tightly, and somehow had dragged Mina into a three way hug between them, the girls didn't seem uncomfortable, and looked rather happy about it.
As he did, Katsuki entered the room, seeing Tenya strolling closer.
"Hello, my name is Tenya Iida and I am-"
"Don't care, leave me alone." Tenya looked disturbed as Katsuki brushes him off, seeing Himiko and the pair had sparks between their eyes. But then she saw Keita, strolled pass Himiko, and grabbed Keita's arm, holding onto it. "I was wondering if you'd be here."
Kirishima looked between them, seeing the situation.
"Aah, so you're dating."
Katsuki smirked, glancing back at Himiko who had narrow eyebrows at her.
"What's it to you?"
Kirishima held his hands up, shaking his head side to side, while Keita gave an intrigued look.
"Are we dating Kacchan?"
Katsuki felt slight embarrassment coming over her, and ended up looking towards Keita.
"W-Well...we'll talk sometime about that!"
Katsuki snapped back, as Keita smiled at her explosive ways.
Keita turned back to Kirishima.
"Your Quirk, allowed your skin to become hard, right?"
"Yeah, that's right. Though I don't think it's that great."
"Why? It seemed pretty cool to me. Though, I do have a question."
"Sure, shoot."
Kirishima seemed alright with it, and Keita himself was happy with that, so he asked his question clearly.
"Then, when you use your Quirk, does everything get hard?"
Katsuki's face erupted into a bright grin, barely able to contain the laugh that wanted to escape her lips, while Kirishima's face turned embarrassed. His eyes went down his body, Keita wasn't sure what Kirishima was doing, and looked down also, but because he did, Kirishima thought that Keita was referring to a certain...part of him.
"E-Eh?! W-Why are you asking?!"
"I was just wondering does your entire body get hard, or can you select which part of you gets hard?"
Kirishima still wasn't sure if Keita meant while Katsuki let out a small laugh.
"W-Well...I can select what part gets hard..."
"Ooh it's a cool Quirk in my eyes~ But, your face tells me you're embarrassed. Why are you embarrassed?"
"Eh...n-no! No reason at all!"
Kirishima scratched the back of his head with a sheepish smile on his face, as Keita smiled.
Soon, Keita walked towards the back area, catching the sight of a girl with a scar on her left hand side, covering her eye. Her hair is long red hair on one side, and white on the other half, tied into twin ponytails, and to Keita, she looked rather cute.
Though her face seemed to be stoic, and unmotivated.
Keita went towards her, and bent down towards her.
"Hey there, my name is Keita Chisaki~ Please call me Keita~"
"I see...my name is Shoto Todoroki."
As she said it, Katsuki strolled over, a seemingly uncaring look on her face as she sat down, watching the interactions between Keita and Shoto.
"Your hair is interesting, it looks like one sides blazing and the other sides like snow~"
"It's because of my Quirk. I'd, rather not speak about it."
"And we don't have too~"
Shoto looked perplexed how easy he went along with that.
"You...aren't curious, as to why?"
"It's your business, if you wanted to share it with me, then that would be your choice. I wouldn't want you to be forced to tell me anything that you're uncomfortable with speaking about."
Shoto blinked a few times, but then simply nodded.
"I see, then thank you."
"Ooh, no need to thank me~"
Keita showed a kind smile, finishing his conversation off with Shoto who seemed to prefer not being spoken to right now, and he respected that, leaving her to her own devices.
Keita went to sit down at the back of the class, when a young woman with black hair, tied into a ponytail towards the right hand side and a kind smile on her face.
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"No, no, do you want to sit there?"
Keita asked, the young girl gave a soft yet subtle smile.
"I don't mind, I could sit somewhere else. To be honest, this is kind of...eeh..."
"Nerve racking, am I right?"
The girl nodded with a continued shy smile.
"Right, this is kind of new to me, since I don't know anyone else here."
"I know a few people, but I know what you mean. I've never been to a school like this, so this is all new to me."
"Never?"
Keita shook his head.
"Nope, I was home schooled, so this is quite new to me. Being around so many people, wondering if I'm going to say something strange or if I'm going to mess up somehow...but, I just have to do my best. Oh right, my name is Keita Chisaki, please call me Keita~"
"Aah, my name is Momo Yaoyorozu. It's a pleasure. Please call me Momo."
"Momo-san then, it's a pleasure~"
Momo smiled, feeling more relaxed. She was glad that there was someone there that was nervous about being there as she was. Maybe it was for different reasons, but they both felt it, and it was reassuring to the other that someone else felt similar to them.
Keita then sat in the seat in front of her, and relaxed, as Katsuki walked over. She glanced at Momo, who looked back towards her, then she perched on Keita's lap, the young boy not saying anything as he hugged her from behind.
"Kacchan, you're cuddly."
"Honestly..." She mildly blushed, lightly tapping his head. "Well, I'm sitting here, so wild hair better not try anything!"
Himiko raised her head, and waved to Katsuki who scowled right back.
Tenya then walked over towards Katsuki, jabbing a finger towards her as she sat on his lap.
"E-Excuse me, but you cannot sit on another students thighs as you see please! Already at the beginning of the school year, you're breaking the rules! What are you thinking? Are you trying to disrupt the class?"
Katsuki turned her gaze upon Tenya who flinched as a result.
"Tch, you really do have a stick up your ass don't you?"
"H-Huuuh? W-What do you mean?"
Tenya was surprised when Katsuki had said that, so Katsuki showed a smirk on her lips.
"I said, you have a stick up your ass. Where you born with it? Or, where you given it by your old school huh?"
Tenya was still taken aback by what Katsuki had said.
"Maybe we got off on the wrong foot, so allow me to introduce myself! My name is Tenya Iida! I went to Soumei Private Academy before coming here. It's nice to meet you."
"I don't care about your stupid name! And you went to Soumei huh? Think you're better than me or something!? Go and bother someone else, I'm going to be sat here, on my Kei's lap, is that understood?!"
"U-Understood!"
Tenya let out, his fear of Katsuki being brought out by the look Himiko was sent towards him as well.
Keita placed a hand on Katsuki's head, and stroked her blonde hair.
"Kacchan, don't worry, he's not going to move you from my lap~"
"Right, damn straight. Not letting some smug guy from Soumei move me. Dumbass."
"But, you probably shouldn't threaten our classmates Kacchan."
"Grrr...fine, I'm sorry damn blue hair!"
Keita gave a bemused look, while Tenya moved away, fearful of what Katsuki was going to do next.
As he did, Izuku went to come through the door, when another girl came up, and showed a bright smile towards him.
"Hey, you're that plain looking boy, aren't you?"
Izuku's face turned red when seeing the girl speaking to him.
Keita recognized her as the girl that had talked him outside of the exam building.
"Eeeeh...y-yeah, that's r-right...Uraraka-san..."
"Nice to see you get in! Your Quirk was amazing that day! With a punch you took one of them down!"
Keita raised an eyebrow when she said that.
Izuku...had a Quirk?
Since when did he gave that?
Izuku bypassed the girl, who Keita heard introduce herself as Ochaco, then he saw Keita and Katsuki sat together.
"Aah, Keita-kun! Kacchan!"
"Ugh...he actually got in? Great..."
Keita looked down at the young woman, as Izuku walked over with a small smile on his lips.
"Izuku-kun, I'm actually surprised you're not the first one here. I thought you'd be here earlier than anyone else. Since you're...well, you~ Which is a great thing in my eyes~"
"A-Am I late?!"
"No, no~ Nothing like that~ Anyway, I'm happy to see you here Izuku-kun, you showed you could be a Hero like the rest of them. Though, what I heard then, about your Quirk?"
Izuku's face broke out into a sweat while Keita turned his head side to side, his eyes focusing in on Izuku curiously.
"W-Well, that's..."
"He's kidding Kei, he doesn't have a Quirk, he was born Quirkless."
Katsuki said what she thought was right, though Keita wasn't convinced in the slightest.
But then, to cut their conversation short, Keita saw Tenya walking closer with a large smile on his face.
"Good morning! My name is Tenya Iida..."
"O-Oh, I already know! My name is Izuku Midoriya…"
While they began a conversation, Keita thought about what Katsuki said, how nervous Izuku became, and how he'd be able to get a Quirk at his age. He wasn't sure if there truly was an upper limit on the age before you develop a Quirk. He heard that if you make it to five and your Quirk hasn't shown itself, then odds are it isn't going to.
But it seemed that Izuku did have some kind of Quirk based on what Ochaco had said.
Keita then rested his chin on Katsuki's shoulder.
"Kacchan, you feeling okay?"
"Fine, why?"
"I can just tell something's going on, is it because of Izuku-kun by chance?"
Katsuki scoffed.
"Nothing to do with that loser."
"Okay~ But remember that it's okay if he's here~"
"I don't care if he's here!"
Keita wasn't so convinced.
But then, the classroom door opened, and shot in Eri herself, with a man with sleepy eyes in a sleeping bag rolled into the classroom. No one seemed concerned with the man, and instead focused in on Eri.
Eri looked left and right frantically, Mina noticing her, and cooed.
"Awww, who's this adorable Angel~?"
Tsuyu raised a finger to her mouth in a cute pose.
"She's an adorable little girl, but why is she here?"
Himiko looked, and showed a cute smile.
"Eri-chan, what're you doing here sweetie?"
Eri turned to Himiko's face, her frantic expression troubled her.
"Where's Kei-chan Himiko-chan?"
"He's back there Eri-chan."
Himiko pointed behind her, to the far back near the windows.
Keita noticed the girl, and saw her running through the classroom, and made it to Keita, jumping up his legs like a spider, and got onto his lap, hugging onto him tightly, worrying Keita.
"Eri-chan, what's the matter?"
"Kei-chan...I tried...but, I couldn't leave Kei-chan..."
Keita gave a sweet smile, gently petting her head.
"It's alright, I'm here now."
"Kei-chan..."
The girls watched as Eri hugged Keita tightly.
Himiko felt Tsuyu tug on her shirt.
"Who's that Himiko-chan?"
"It's Eri-chan, she's attached to Kei-chan for...reasons~"
Himiko couldn't reveal it, so Mina asked Keita.
"So, what's your story together huh~?"
Keita smiled, gently petting Eri's head to sooth her.
"This is my daughter, I am her Father."
He said it with a straight looking face, hoping that this kind of joke would be a great way to break the ice.
The classes faces dropped, while Himiko gave a bemused face. Katsuki also smirked, but even Izuku seemed baffled by what Keita said and he, along with the rest of the class let out a collective cry to try and get out their confusion.
[EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!?]
Keita looked at Katsuki in confusion, at the way they expressed themselves.
"I was only joking, I thought they'd laugh."
"I'm certainly laughing at their idiotic ways."
Keita tapped her head, and she let out a small "Ow." so he petted her head.
"Don't be mean to our classmates Kacchan." After calming down, the class looked at Keita who smiled and waved. "She's not really my daughter~"
"B-But, if you're not her Father...then..."
A girl that was invisible spoke up, Eri's face dropping when seeing only floating clothing. She then went pale, and hugged Keita even more, worried about the floating clothes that seemed to her to be moving on their own.
"Kei-chan, it's a ghost!"
The invisible girl shook side to side as Katsuki laughed.
"A ghost, who're gonna call….hahaha..."
"Ghostbusters!"
Himiko finished off, the invisible girl whined cutely, while the teacher seemed slightly amused by what was going on.
"My names Toru Hagakure, not a ghost...don't call ghostbusters..."
The invisible girl whined, but to Eri, it sounded like a ghosts moaning and she became even more frightened than before.
"Kei-chan, the ghosts moving closer….she calls herself Toru...s-should we see if we can help her move on…? T-That's what they do for ghosts...to help them find peace…?"
Keita found Eri's reactions to be quite cute.
"Eri-chan, she's not a ghost. She's just invisible."
"Really Kei-chan?"
"I promise she's not a ghost."
Eri wasn't sure, looking back to the invisible girl, and wasn't convinced. But she believed in Keita, so if he said she was, then she probably was.
The Sensei then twitches his shoulder, wriggling out of the sleeping bag.
"So, if that's over with, lets get on with the day." Keita raised his hand, but the Sensei stopped him. "Her being here is fine, I spoke to Sir Nighteye about it." Keita nodded in thanks so the Sensei continued. "Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa, your Sensei."
"Shota Aizawa...huh."
Keita murmured, Aizawa raised a brow.
"Do you know of me?"
"Nope, but Mirio-san said that you were a Hero of the night."
"He's correct, I tend to do my duties at night."
"And teach class during the day. Geez, no wonder you came in a sleeping bag, when do you find time to sleep?"
Aizawa gave a bemused look towards Keita.
"Interesting question, maybe I'll tell you sometime." Aizawa reaches into his sleeping bag, and pulls out a training uniform. "Put these on and head outside."
Keita looked at the uniform, then down at himself, before shrugging.
However, as he went to move…
He stopped.
A sudden sense of dread came over him, and he didn't know why.
He looked out of the window, feeling it coming from there…
But he couldn't see anything.
He didn't know what to think about it, so he tried his best to suppress his feelings.
He wasn't aware that sparks began flooding around his hands as he walked away.
Keita finished getting dressed first, and went with Eri to the field. Keita looked out across the area, Eri riding on his shoulders, and she seemed content, so he himself was quite content as well, and waited for the others to come.
The first one to appear was Momo, who looked around.
"I guess we're the first here."
"Hehe, guess so Momo-san."
Momo smiled, looking up at Eri.
"So, what is the story between you? It's okay if you don't want to tell me, I was just curious."
"Well, I can tell you that Eri-chan and I experienced things together, and now I am sort of her Father, brother, type guardian person. I can't reveal much more than that, I'm sorry."
Momo had more questions, but if she couldn't ask, then she wouldn't do.
"That's fine, you don't need to apologize." Momo stuck out her hand, and produced a small figurine for Eri, a cat at that. Eri's eyes lit up as Keita looked impressed. "Would you like this Eri-san? You can put it in that cute messenger bag you have with you. I can see you like cats, based on the shirt you're wearing."
"Yes, I do like cats. Thank you~"
Momo waved her hand side to side, Eri took the cat from Momo, and placed it in the heart shape bag.
"Amazing, your Quirk can create anything?"
"As long as I know the atomic configuration of an object, I can replicate it. Though I can't create living things."
"I see, that's an amazing power Momo-san. I guess that knowledge is power in your case~"
Momo let out a small laugh.
"I suppose that it is. What's your Quirk? If you don't mind me asking?"
"I'll show you." Keita tapped the ground, and caused it to shoot up, until it was the size of Momo, and while taking over a minute, he managed to craft a replica of Momo beside her, astonishing her. "As long as I can touch it, I can manipulate it. I bet if we worked together, we'd be able to pull off many combinations. You create it, and I change its shape in seconds. We could even create new things together~"
"Yes...our Quirks would be quite compatible. Hmmm, quite an interesting Quirk."
As they spoke, Shoto came walking over, and didn't utter a word. Her eyes went towards the statue that Keita had made, and wondered more about his Quirk, if he had some earth type Quirk, watching as Keita returned the statue to the ground.
Keita looked towards her, seeing that she was remaining quiet, so he whispered to Momo.
"Do you know her?"
"Not really, but I do know that she got in on special recommendation like myself, I heard that she also is one of the strongest candidates as well."
"I see, so she's one of the strongest huh...makes me wish to see how my skills compare to her own. As Sir Nighteye-san said, competition can make you a better Hero, and strive forward happily."
"Why did you ask anyway?"
Keita looked Shoto up and down, and could tell there was...something about her.
Her eyes displayed a loneliness that he could relate to.
"She just seems...interesting, that's all." Keita raised his voice after finishing speaking with Momo, turning to Shoto. "You got dressed fast erm...should I call you Shoto-san or Todoroki-san...or what should I call you?"
Shoto overlooked the boy, then shrugged.
"I do not mind either way."
"Then Shoto-san, how're enjoying the first day of class?"
"Not much has happened, I don't really feel anything about it."
"Makes sense~"
As he spoke, Himiko came out with Tsuyu, arm in arm. Keita smiled at the sight, as she waved.
"Kei-chan look, Tsuyu-chan and I are becoming really good friends!"
"I'm glad Himiko-chan!"
"Hehehe! So am I! Tsuyu-chan is really cute, and she's really kind too~"
Himiko smiled out as did Tsuyu.
Keita then felt a hand touching his butt, so he looked to see Katsuki having silently appeared, her eyes directly on Himiko who gave a dirty smirk right back towards her. Katsuki scowled, placing her head on Keita's shoulder, so Himiko dragged Tsuyu with her, placing her head on Keita's other shoulder.
Soon the other members of the class arrived and were casually talking to one another, along with the Sensei, Aizawa.
As Aizawa looked between the students, Keita felt Eri's fingers twirling his hair, something that made him smile.
"Great, you're all here. Now, we're going to be doing a Quirk Assessment test."
[What!? A Quirk Assessment test!?]
Nearly all of the class shouted that out.
The only ones that didn't were Keita, Katsuki, Shoto and Momo.
Everyone else was understandably freaked out, while Ochaco shyly poked her fingers together.
"But, we have orientation..."
"If you really want to make it into the big leagues, then you'll not waste time on pointless ceremonies." Aizawa interrupted her, something that caused Ochaco to pull away. "Here at U.A, we're not tethered to traditions. That means I get to run the class anyway that I see fit."
Keita examined Aizawa's face, trying to work the older man out.
"I can see why Mirio-san said he can be kinda scary...though growing up in the Shie Hassaikai allows me to not feel threatened, if that's what he's intending...no, it seems as if he's attempting to find out reasons through our reactions to his harsh words, kind of reminds me of Rappa-san... I wonder how Rappa-san and Aizawa-sensei would react...Rappa-san...I wonder what you're doing right now…? I miss Rappa-san..." Keita thought, waving towards Aizawa. "Sensei, so this test, what are we actually going to be doing?"
Aizawa's eyes turned towards Keita, seeing that rather than being shocked, he looked ready to face the day.
"You're going to be the one who shows us how to use your Quirk first. Society tries to pretend that all Quirk's are made equal, but that's not the case at all. Now, during junior school...wait, never mind. Have you ever tested your throwing average?"
Aizawa stopped himself, knowing of Keita's circumstances so most likely, Keita wouldn't know his throwing average, but he wanted to see either way.
"No, I've never tested it before."
"Right...either way. See this circle here?" He looked towards the circle on the ground that Aizawa seemingly had made. "Do anything you want within this circle. Use your Quirk."
Keita looked at the ball, and then towards Aizawa.
"Anything?"
"Anything. Hurry up."
"Hehe, okay~ Keep calm~"
Keita passed Eri off to Himiko, then took the ball.
Going into the circle, Keita hummed, wondering what would be the best way to use his Quirk on the ball.
He then placed it down onto the ground, and moved his fingers across the ground. The people around weren't sure what Keita was actually doing.
That was until he yelled "Catapult!" and from the ground, a pillar shot up at high speeds, shooting the ball right up into the air, so fast that some people were blind sided by it, Katsuki smirked, glad that Keita was showing his strengths, Eri clapped her hands together.
"Wow, Kei-chan it went so high..."
Shoto looked on, seeing the ball disappearing and thought "He's pretty strong it seems." wondering more about Keita than before. Despite his kind demeanour, she saw in the moment he used his Quirk, he had a more single focused mind that allowed him to concentrate, and block out everything else around him.
"Look at it go! The ball's shot into the air!"
Mina cheered, Tsuyu tilted her head.
"So, he's able to control the ground? That's interest."
Himiko giggled.
"Kei-chan can do more than control the ground~"
Shoto turned towards Himiko with intrigue, but before she could ask, Aizawa looked at the watch in his hand to measure the distance, and hummed at the results, then showed it to the others, showing the 705.1 metres.
"Whoa!"
A blonde haired boy with a tail exclaimed.
"Awesome!" Mina yelled out happily. "I want a go as well!"
"That's what I am talking about! Using our Quirk's as much as we want!"
A boy with tape coming from his elbows expressed joyfully.
Keita walked back to the others, taking Eri and placed her back on his shoulders after she asked him to be put there.
Aizawa, who was watching them cheer, had other ideas for them.
"So, this is just a joke to everyone?" They all stiffened under his gaze. "You have three years to become a Hero. You think it is going to be all games?"
"No, it's not a game." Keita spoke up, catching the others off guard. "I've seen it...the way Hero's risk themselves, how they put their lives on the line. I know for me personally, this isn't a joke, I'm serious about wanting to become a better Hero, and learn many attributes, including making hard decisions that could come up in our careers. Though, Sir Nighteye-san says that having humour to defuse situations is also needed."
Aizawa was blown away.
But, from what he knew of Keita, it made sense that he was serious about being a Hero.
And he'd understand more than anyone else about the real dangers Hero's faced, he had lived it for a long time.
"Yes...that's exactly it, Chisaki." Aizawa then looked lazily between each of them. "Today, you'll be competing in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last, will be expelled immediately."
[W-WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?]
The entire class, apart from Keita and Momo, yelled out while the pair thought about what he said, Keita looking into Aizawa's eyes, and then tilted his head.
"But you're-"
Before Keita could finish, Aizawa stopped him with a look.
Keita looked deeply into his eyes, a certain understanding passing between the two of them, then Keita shrugged, and turned his neck to the side.
Aizawa continued to look towards him for a few moments, before continuing with the conversations, or he attempted to when Ochaco raised her voice.
"You can't send one of us home!" Ochaco complained. "W-We just got here, we can't be kicked out now can we? It isn't fair!"
"And you think natural disasters are then?" Aizawa shot towards her, who flinched as a result. "What about power-hungry Villains? They don't play by the rules, they don't think about what's fair and what's not. Hero's life is difficult if you can't manage that, then I suggest leaving right now."
"Behind his cold words, he's trying to convey that being a Hero isn't a kids game. It makes sense that he'd want to make us understand up front before anything was to happen. I have to respect that kind of mentality."
Keita thought to himself as Eri poked his head.
"Kei-chan, he seems to be a little scary..."
"Don't worry Eri-chan, he's just trying to show his own blend of kindness."
Eri cocked her head.
"How Kei-chan?"
"He wants us to understand the dangers, and the unfairness of the world of Hero's, not everything will always go our way, and to make sure that we can be prepared for the hard tasks ahead."
"So, he's being kind by being mean?"
Keita chortled, gently petting her head.
"That's right~"
Eri seemed to be content with what Keita had said.
Aizawa then continued, overlooking the students.
"Over the next three years, U.A will throw hardships at you all, one after another. So, go beyond. Plus Ultra Style. Now then, let the games begin."
Keita thought that the smile on Aizawa's face showed that he enjoyed it a little too much.
The first test consisted of the fifty meters dash. Two students lined up, and ran, or floated, or flew, to get from point A to B. Whatever way they could do it. Himiko saw Tsuyu stepping up, so she gave her encouragement.
"Yippe! You go Tsuyu-chan! I believe in you!"
Tsuyu looked at Himiko, then nodded with a small smile working its way onto her face.
"Ribbit, I shall do my best."
"Then, if it is speed, then I can achieve victory!"
Keita watched as Tsuyu and Iida did their running fifty meters, Tenya naturally was in his element thanks to his Quirk, Tsuyu however didn't do so bad either, and came at a respectable 5.58 seconds, and Tenya came at 3.04 seconds.
"Wow, it's like he's Sonic. I'll have to call upon my training with Sir Nighteye-san to increase my speed...if I shot myself like a bullet with the earth...then maybe..." Keita however could see that Shoto was staring at him, not allowing her eyes to drop from his form at all. "She's been staring at me for a while now, I haven't offended her...have I?"
As he thought it, he saw Ojiro going next, a boy with a tail, and got a score of 5.49 seconds.
Keita smiled as he walked closer.
"Hey, that was pretty cool, I liked how you bounced off your tail~"
Keita praised Ojiro who smiled in appreciation.
"Thanks, I'm sure you'll do well."
"I hope so~ So, is that what your tail does?"
"Eeh, yeah, that's right. I can swing it around and hang my body from it by wrapping it around other things."
"It's pretty cool~ If you could rapidly spin it like Tails, then you and Iida-san could team up to become Sonic and Tails!" Katsuki held back a smirk as Keita looked towards Kirishima. "Kirishima-kun could be your Knuckles as well~ How amazing~ All you'll need is Dr Eggman..."
Ojiro laughed, finding it quite funny to be compared to Tails.
"I guess it is me next." Ochaco stepped forward, touching her clothes, and shoes to make them lose gravity. "With this, I should be able to succeed!"
Ochaco did the test against another student that Keita didn't recognize, and got a good score of 7.05 seconds. Izuku showed a light smile at the sight before him, seeing how well Ochaco did during the race.
Then the next one was Mina, who showed peace signs to the crowd, along with a blonde haired boy named Aoyama, who was thrusting hips forward.
"Nice attempts, but it wont save you from losing to me~"
Keita watched as he fired off his laser from his stomach, Mina on the other hand ejected acid from her feet, skating across the ground.
It looked like Aoyama was going to win…
But he had to stop firing his laser, which allowed Mina to skate past him with a peace sign.
"Hehe, seems like I'm gonna win~"
Mina skated all the way to the end, while Aoyama fell against the ground.
"Shooting my beautiful beam gives me a tummy ache if I do it for more than a second~"
Keita gave him a curious look, then turned to Katsuki.
"Kacchan, is he alright?"
"No idea. He's a weirdo anyway."
Aoyama, having overheard, placed a hand to his forehead, and grinned.
"I of course am not a weirdo!"
Katsuki rolled her eyes as Himiko stepped up for the match.
Keita and Eri called together "Go Himiko-chan!" and that seemed to inspire her more and more, with Himiko swaying side to side, before she was allowed forward, shooting so fast that some people thought that she used some kind of speed enhancement Quirk, but realized that she wasn't, and got a respectable time of 6.02 seconds, which he found to be pretty impressive considering that she was only using her normal speed.
"Yahoo! I'm happy with that!"
Momo pulled back, and wondered about Himiko, who skipped towards Keita, and hugged him tightly, she couldn't see a Quirk that Himiko used, she seemed to be naturally fast, and was able to surprise even some of the more able students.
Soon, it was Keita's turn, and he was facing down Shoto this time, with Eri standing off to the side with Himiko.
Keita stepped forward, and got to the starting point, seeing that Shoto was just staring towards him.
"Do I have something on my face?"
"No, I'm just curious about something."
"Hmmm? What's that?"
"Your eyes."
Keita cocked his head, as Aizawa started the timer.
Shoto shot forward on her ice, while Keita tapped the ground, and shot himself into the air at a rapid speed, crossing the distance, landing on the ground just before Shoto could make it to the other side, a few second difference between the two of them.
"3.01 seconds." Aizawa announced for Keita, then turned to Shoto. "3.05 seconds."
Shoto's eyebrows narrowed at the sight, seeing that Keita managed to outpace Tenya with his speed.
She then watched as Katsuki shot forward, and clapped her hands together, placing her hands behind her, and shot off high explosions with a respectable time tailing just behind Shoto, and looked towards Keita who gave her a thumbs up.
"Well done Kacchan!"
Katsuki cracked her shoulders side to side.
"Hmph, I guess it's an alright time."
"I think you did really great Kacchan~ I guess training together has paid off~"
Katsuki allowed her hand to slide down, and grab him from behind as Keita chortled, holding onto Eri.
Then after that, more rounds came up.
One was a grip strength, and then the long jump, then repeated side stepping. Each test Keita was able to adjust to pretty well, though he kept his attention on Izuku mostly, wondering what this Quirk was that Ochaco had said.
Keita, as he did the long jump, felt that same feeling again.
As if someone was watching him, which caused him to stop, and look around.
He wasn't sure what this feeling was, but it wasn't pleasant.
When getting across the long jump by using his Quirk on the ground, Keita looked back to the school, and saw that there was a man with blonde hair looking towards them. He recalled that person being Izuku's tutor, so that made him all the more curious.
Shaking his head, Keita managed to jump across, and showed his time.
Then they were on the ball throwing, and since Keita had done that, Katsuki went up, and threw the ball while yelling "DIE!" getting a very good score, Keita seeing that it was able to surpass the one that he had gotten which he was proud of for her, seeing her excited eyes.
"Heh, see that Kei?"
"Yes, well done Kacchan! I'm so proud!"
Katsuki showed a light smirk, as Ochaco walked up.
Ochaco then grabbed the ball, and placed her fingers onto it, using her Quirk to make it lose gravity, tossing it into the air with a quite underwhelming throw, but because of her Quirk, the ball went high and eventually disappeared.
Aizawa showed the distance, and it just showed the symbol for infinity.
"Haha, infinity...that's cool~"
Keita murmured, as Eri looked down at Keita's head, lightly allowing her fingers to weave through his hair. Keita's eyes went up, and saw Eri looking down towards him with a cute smile on her face.
While they talked, Izuku stepped up to the stage, showing an unsure look on his face. He looked to be sweating bullets, he felt worried about what could happen next, Keita thought that he might have used his Quirk by now, but he hadn't done.
Along with his personal trainer, or what Keita thought was his personal trainer, stood off to the side, nearly out of sight, but Keita could still see him.
"Izuku-kun, you can do it!"
Keita cheered him on, Izuku looked back with appreciative eyes.
He then turned back to the ball, and wondered what he should do.
"I'm worried about him." Ochaco said with worry. "During the Entrance Exam, what happened to him...and now, if he doesn't do his best, he might be going home...but, after seeing what happened..."
"What do you mean Uraraka-san?"
Keita asked her, so she explained.
"Well, he hasn't used his Quirk yet...at least from what I can tell."
"He's Quirkless, how could he even do anything like showing us something new?"
Katsuki stated as if it was a fact.
But Ochaco refuted that.
"Quirkless?" Ochaco echoed. "He's not Quirkless."
"Yes he is, I've known him all his damn life unfortunately, and he's never shown a Quirk before."
"But, during the exam..."
As Ochaco spoke up, Keita saw that when Izuku went to throw the ball, Aizawa's eyes glowed red, his hair standing up by itself, and stopped the power that Izuku was going to use.
"Heh, I knew he didn't have a Quirk."
Katsuki commented, while Keita shook his head, turning to Aizawa.
"No, it was our Sensei, he used some kind of red eye power on him, didn't you?"
"I used my Quirk to stop his yes."
"But why?"
Keita's question was met with a tough faced Aizawa.
"I saw what his Quirk does to his body." Aizawa announces harshly. "A single use, and he'd be broken. He does indeed have a strong power, but he'd endanger himself, and others around." His eyes went towards Izuku who looked down at the ground. "They shouldn't of let you come to this school."
"W-Wha...b-but, I..."
Izuku's fingers pressed together, Keita thought that was a bit harsh to say it. He knew why Aizawa was saying it, he believed, but he didn't think it was right that Aizawa was being as harsh as he was towards Izuku.
"No matter the intentions, you'll be a liability in battle!" Aizawa's cold words were only made colder by his eyes. "You have the same reckless passion as another overzealous Hero that I know. The one who saves a thousand people by himself, and became a legend. But even with that drive, you'd be useless after one attack. Sorry, but there's no way that you'll become a Hero."
Izuku's eyes were shadowed by his hair, and looked to be going deeper into a depressed state.
Keita looked towards Aizawa, then strolled forward towards him.
"Sensei."
Aizawa turned his eyes towards Keita.
"What is it?"
He replied, wondering what the boy was going to say.
Keita inhaled a breath, then he continued with a curious expression on his face.
"I know why you're doing it, but I still think you're underestimating him, and being a bit unfair. We're here to learn to become Hero's, of course he wont have everything figured out yet, none of us do. I've never seen his Quirk in action, so I can't comment on it. But, you have to let him at least try, allow him to think of different ways to use...whatever Quirk he has. I saw him trying so hard for this, training nearly everyday for ten months, you have to at least let him try his hardest now, and show why he did deserve to come here."
All Might, from a distance, looked on and saw the compassionate way that Keita spoke in defence of Izuku. While not fully understanding the situation, he still wanted to make sure that Izuku had a chance to show what he was made of.
Izuku himself also felt inspired to try harder.
Even if he had to think of different ways for him to use his Quirk.
"Aizawa-sensei." Izuku spoke up, Aizawa turning his cold eyes towards him. "I...I might have lousy control over my Quirk...but, I'm trying my best, and I'm training really hard! At least let me show you my ability once! I wont become useless after a single attack!"
Aizawa's eyes took a noticeable broadening, while Ochaco looked on with a slight smile.
Aizawa relented after a few moments, shutting his eyes for a moment then opened them, showing the normal colour, showing his Quirk wasn't active.
"I've returned your impractical Quirk. Take your final throw, and get it over with."
Izuku exhaled slowly, and looked at the ball. His fingers went over the ball, and he attempted to think of a way for him to use his Quirk. How he'd be able to use it and still be usable. All he had to do is throw the ball, all he had to do was get it the furthest that he could.
He didn't need his entire arm…
Just a finger.
Izuku began throwing the ball.
As he did, Keita noticed that Izuku's index finger was glowing with red lines appearing across it. Keita wondered if that was his power, watching as his finger pressed so hard on the ball, Keita thought that it was going to break with the power alone.
For the last possible second, Izuku's finger kept on the ball, then with a loud "Smaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash!" he launched that ball high into the air, going a great distance, while Keita saw that Izuku's finger had broken.
The ball shot off high into the air, his finger shaking from the pain he felt, yet his eyes went towards Aizawa as the time was revealed, showing that it was a point higher than Katsuki's own, Keita noticing that Katsuki's eyes were narrowing more and more.
"I-I did it Sensei, I can still use my power after a single attack!"
Aizawa looked quite impressed, but still could see that his finger was broken.
While it was a start, he still wasn't too sure.
He still thought that Izuku had some way to go, he at least was beginning to make the right moves.
Himiko thrusted her fist up.
"Hehehe, that was cool. But, like, what kind of power was that? And why didn't he use it until now?"
Keita also had to wonder.
It seemed like super strength, but something about it seemed...off.
He wasn't sure exactly what it was.
His eyes went back towards All Might, and focused in on him, something All Might also noticed.
But then his eyes snapped to Katsuki who was letting out a low growling sound.
"Something wrong Kacchan?"
"When the hell did he get that?! Did he have it when we were kids? Has he been laughing behind my back?!"
Keita looked back to Izuku.
"I don't think that's the case...something is a bit weird though...he said he didn't have a Quirk when we first met..."
"Exactly! He hid it!"
"Not necessarily. He doesn't seem to be the type that would intentionally keep that a secret to laugh at anyone, nor do I think he was being deceitful when we first met..." Keita looked back to the frail All Might, furrowing his brows. "But something is definitely going on..." Keita turned back to Katsuki and saw that she looked ready to snap, so he took her hand, and placed it in his own. "Don't worry Kacchan, I'm sure it will become clear eventually~"
Though he said that to calm her, she didn't look anymore calm.
But thanks to holding onto her hand, she seemed to be somewhat calmer deep inside...
Keita then walked over to Izuku's broken finger, presenting his hand.
"Finger."
"O-Oh...y-you don't mind?"
Keita shook his head calmly.
"Nope, I don't mind." Keita said with a smile, sliding the finger into his hand, and began fixing it to the astonishment of the others around, Shoto in particular wondered how Keita was actually doing that. "A little twist here, a fix there, and..." Keita twirled Izuku's finger back to the right position, seeing it going back to its normal colour. "There, no more broken finger."
Izuku looked at the fixed finger, it was as good as new.
"Wow..." Izuku flexed his finger up and down, he felt no pain at all. "Amazing, you fixed it Keita-kun!"
Keita waved his hand.
"It's fine, I'm glad that you're alright. But still, what is your Quirk Izuku-kun? Does it have a name?"
"W-Well..erm...I erm..."
Izuku seemed to dodge the question, which only brought more confusion to the young man.
"Well, regardless. Using your Quirk through your finger...seems pretty good. Keep going Izuku-kun, I'll put your body back together again for the exams. You should have said earlier, I didn't realize your Quirk had such a backlash. I would have taken care of any wounds you had. I mean, we're friends, right?"
"Ehehe...yes, of course~ I-I didn't want to be a burden..."
"Hehe, you're not a burden to me, if anything it's good practice for me."
"I-I see...this Quirk of mine...everything's so new...eeh, I mean, using it like this is so...erm...new...a-and, yeah...it's..."
Keita furrowed his eyebrows.
Something definitely wasn't right.
"Izuku-kun...your Quirk..."
"A-Anyway! Thanks for helping me!"
Izuku deflected, knowing that Keita wasn't an idiot, if he gave him much more information...then he'd find out.
He was sure Keita would.
He had promised All Might he'd not say anything...so this was difficult.
Keita gave an intrigued smile, seeing how Izuku seemed quite determined, but he was also clearly keeping something to himself.
Shoto herself looked towards Keita, seeing what his Quirk did, and how he managed to fix Izuku's finger, it was definitely interesting.
After the exam was over, Aizawa tallied up the results, and brought out a scoreboard, showing it to the others.
"Alright, it's time to go over your results. I wont bother with individual scoring, I've ranked you from best to worst. Though you should have a good understanding of your ranks already, here's the entire list."
Keita overlooked the class results, as did Himiko, seeing that she came out as sixth, which she was pretty happy with, and hugged Tsuyu who hugged her back.
"Yippe! We both didn't come in last Tsuyu-chan! We get to stay together!"
"Yes, it seems we've done quite well. Though I didn't see you using a Quirk...maybe you did and I didn't see it."
"Ooh, that's a secret Tsuyu-chan~ I'm sure we'll soon see my Quirk in action~"
Tsuyu cocked her head left and right in wonder.
Keita saw his name being on the top, with Momo just below him, then Shoto and then Katsuki in fourth place.
Eri raised her hands up, and said "Yay, Kei-chan's the winner!" Keita smiled up at the girl riding on his shoulders.
Momo walked forward, and gave a congratulatory smile.
"You became the top scorer Keita-san."
"Heeeeh, thanks to training with Sir Nighteye-san, it seems to have succeeded~ Though you did amazing Momo-san, seeing your Quirk in action is quite spectacular~ The different ways that you can use it...it's very clear that you're pretty intelligent."
Momo looked embarrassed by the compliment.
"T-Thank you...but, I didn't see Himiko-san's Quirk being used once...for someone who didn't use a Quirk and to get sixth place...that's an amazing feat, I don't think I could have done that without using my Quirk in some places."
"Hehe, Himiko-chan's Quirk is quite, interesting. I'm sure you'll see it soon enough."
As he spoke to Momo, Shoto kept looking towards him with a curious stare.
Seeing how he placed in top, he didn't seem to even care. He wasn't bragging, he wasn't boastful, it seemed to her that if he came first place, or nineteenth place, he'd still have the same smile on his face, and she wasn't sure why.
Keita then overlooked the entire exam score, and saw who was at the bottom.
It seemed to be a boy named Mineta who came out last, with Izuku being able to come to the fifteenth place. Izuku looked so relieved, he was thankful. After the first display of power, Keita said he'd help Izuku fix his body and allow him to use his Quirk in the last three remaining tests.
Though Keita was a bit worried that Izuku's power seemed to break his body. Even the more destructive powers that had a backlash on the users bodies seemed to have some leeway. Though, he thought maybe it's because he couldn't control the output of power he had.
When Mineta saw his name on the bottom, he began crying his eyes out.
"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! It can't be! I can't be the last one! It isn't simply possible!"
Keita gave him a curious look, then looked to Aizawa.
He looked back to Mineta, and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Erm, excuse me..."
Mineta's teary eyes went to Keita.
"W-What?!"
"You're not going home, he was lying."
Mineta's face dropped, as did some of the others.
They turned to Aizawa, who was holding back a smirk.
[SENSEI! IS THAT TRUE?!]
"Yes, that's true. No ones going home."
The class, besides Momo's, Himiko's and Keita's, faces fell, and a collective "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?" rang out throughout the area, Keita then looked towards Momo, not seeing Himiko's knowing face since she turned and pointed at Katsuki who glared back hard.
"When did you figure it out?"
Momo showed a slightly shy expression.
"Erm, when the tests began, I thought something was a bit wrong, and it was confirmed for me as we went through the tests. How about you?"
"I was pretty sure at the beginning, reading Aizawa-sensei's body language, but it got confirmed for me around the second or third test that we had, I saw Aizawa-sensei seemed to be more focused on what we'd be capable of, and if we had what it takes, more than anything else like who would go home. He didn't have the demeanour that showed he wanted one of us to go, if that makes sense?"
"Yes, I tend to agree, and I believe it makes sense."
Katsuki then tapped Keita's arm.
"You could've told me."
"Aizawa-sensei seemed to not want others to know, I wanted to know what he was thinking about."
"You could have said something though, I was worried."
Jiro, a girl with earphone jacks, popped up, Mina nodding.
"I was scared of coming last! Say something next time!"
Keita and Momo let out awkward chuckles, looking at one another with small smiles.
Aizawa then sighed.
"Don't blame them, they were able to analyse the situation before them, and read through my deception, it was pretty good of them. But beyond that, that's it, we're done for the day. Pick up a syllabus up from the class and read it before tomorrow. Things are only going to be tougher tomorrow, so you should aim to do your best."
The class bowed their heads, and went on their way.
Keita looked towards Aizawa, seeing his eyes on the class.
He then looked towards him, so Keita smiled gently.
"Come on Eri-chan, it's time to go get my stuff, and head on home~"
"Okay Kei-chan."
With that, Keita and Eri walked away from the field, Keita however couldn't shake the feeling that something felt off.
He didn't know what it was...but he felt something wasn't quite right.
At the end of the day, Keita went into the classroom, to pick up some stuff before leaving. Eri was on his side, and rode on his shoulders, while also allowing her fingers to run through his hair, something Keita was so used to feeling that it didn't even register with him.
"Kei-chan, where's Himiko-chan?"
"Himiko-chan is gonna be waiting for us at the gates, and then we can go home with Sir Nighteye-san."
"Kei-chan, do you like school?"
Keita raised a brow in thought.
Did he like it?
"Erm...to be honest, it's a new experience, and I haven't experienced enough to say if I do or don't. But, today was rather good, meeting new people was fun. I guess like Mirko-san said, I should tackle it like any other problem~ Did you enjoy it Eri-chan?"
"Yes...Kei-chan, I'm sorry...I should have been braver..."
Keita's eyes went up to the white haired girl, giving a comforting smile.
"Don't worry, it's alright Eri-chan. Things take time, and Aizawa-sensei understands as do I. I'll always be here if you need me Eri-chan." Eri hugged Keita's head from his shoulders, her hands resting on his forehead, something that made Keita smile. "Then, ready to go Eri-chan?"
"Yes, I'm ready."
When Keita and Eri were ready to leave, the classroom door opened, revealing Shoto entering the classroom.
Her eyes went between Eri, and Keita, settling on the latter, overlooking the boys expression, then moved closer towards him.
"I couldn't help but notice, you were looking at me a bit today Shoto-san."
Shoto didn't deny it.
"I was...curious about you, that's all."
Keita raised an eyebrow, then pulled closer.
"Hehe, curious about me huh? What do you want to know?"
"...I don't know yet, but when I do, I'll ask. For now though...seeing you win today, you have a strong Quirk."
"So do you, the ice stuff is pretty amazing. But, I couldn't help notice that you seemed to..." Keita paused when seeing that Shoto was beginning to feel uncomfortable. "...Shoto-san, you did very well today, you should be proud."
"I suppose. Then I'm leaving, goodnight."
"Yes, goodnight."
Keita watched as she grabbed a book, and left the room.
As she did, Keita caught a glimpse at her eyes, and thought about the look within her eyes.
Though he didn't know her backstory, he could tell that something within her eyes…
It was telling him that something had clearly happened to her in the past.
Keita and Eri soon left the school, seeing Sir Nighteye and Mirio along with Himiko waiting at the gates. With Eri on his shoulders, Keita strolled over, and gave a grin to Sir Nighteye.
"We had a test today, a bunch of them I should say."
"Yes, Himiko-san was telling me. You came in first place, it shows the efforts of your training have paid off. So, how did you find the school day?"
"I'll have to admit I'm a bit tired, mentally speaking. I'm not really physically tired or anything, that's probably thanks to the training I've had from you. It's hard to interact with new people for me. But, I think it went alright."
"I made a new friend! Tsuyu-chan! And also Mina-chan too! They both were super cute~"
Mirio smiled at the energy Himiko had.
"Amazing! You're good at making friends then Himiko-san!"
"Yup, and I got sixth place! Hehe, I thought for sure that Aizawa-sensei would tell everyone sooner or later that he was being deceitful, but he dragged it on right until the end. That poor little boy, he looked as if he was going to cry."
"So, you figured it out too Himiko-chan?"
Himiko nodded without a worry.
"I'm able to see through peoples masks too, like you Kei-chan~"
"Then, lets go on home, you have another day at school tomorrow."
Sir Nighteye spoke up, so together, they began walking home.
As Keita and the others walked away, that same feeling came over him again.
As if he felt something was watching him.
His eyes went towards a rooftop…
But couldn't see anyone.
From between his hands, sparks began to show themselves once more, seemingly responding to his emotions...
"Is something wrong Kei-chan?"
...But that stopped when Himiko wondered about the young boy.
Keita looked at the rooftop once more, before shaking her head.
"No, it's nothing." He replied, relieving her of her worries, then turned to Eri. "Eri-chan, I'll make us some chocolate ice cream."
"I really like Kei-chan's ice cream! But Kei-chan, I'll try really hard to stay with Sir Nigtheye-san tomorrow."
"I know, and if you can't, it's alright. All we want is to make sure you're comfortable and happy Eri-chan."
"Kei-chan..."
She spoke with happiness, and also an affectionate tone, she was glad that Keita was as understanding as he was, and that he was there for her, no matter what.
They then continued back home.
Keita however, couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
It felt almost as if he was being watched.
By what...he truly didn't want to know.
Running down a lone alleyway, a Hero was being chased by a figure he didn't know.
A figure that caused him to feel fear.
He saw that the walls where beginning to move, the ground itself was being turned against him, his face continued to fall, seeing the damage being done to the surrounding area, and placed his hand up to use his Quirk…
When the ground shot up into a spire, piercing through his right arm.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
He screamed at the pain of the ground piercing him.
The spire then was destroyed, leaving the man with a gaping hole in his arm.
He then heard footsteps.
They were subtle at first.
They sounded subdued.
But then they became louder, and louder.
The man's heart raced in his chest.
The Hero was clutching his damaged arm, the blood leaking out of it dripped down to the ground.
Then he caught sight on who it actually was.
Stepping into the light, removing a single glove…
it was Kai Chisaki.
"You had to become difficult, didn't you?"
The Hero's eyes danced between fight and flight, unsure of which to settle on.
"S-Stay away from me! What do you want?!"
Kai just showed a calm face.
He didn't have a smile.
He didn't have a frown.
But somehow, he felt as if that was even scarier than what he believed to be true.
"What I want, is you to die for me."
The man's eyes laced with fear.
His body trembled.
He tried to move, to speak, to run…
But his body was pinned by Kai using his Quirk on the ground, Overhauling it to the point that he couldn't even move his neck, spikes of earth being close by his neck, his hands and arms also had spikes near them, as did his legs.
One false move, and he'd be cut apart.
Kai's hand reached forward, and he simply tapped him a single time, killing him with his blood splattering everywhere, only for Kai to put him back together again, the sting of death caused his mind to being breaking, his body crumbling down to the floor, as Chronostasis jumped down beside Kai, panting.
It seemed as if Chronostasis was running for a good while.
"Overhaul-sama...I-I'm sorry that he got away this far..."
Kai just rolled his eyes, seemingly not caring at all.
He brushed past Chronostasis, grabbing the Hero by the arm, and tossed him to Chronostasis, who bound him with some handcuffs. The Hero's eyes began to leak tears, but Kai just gave him a cold and merciless look.
"I don't really have time for this, Chrono."
"I know..."
"Soon, we'll be getting my brother back. I haven't spent all this time and effort, and you making it more difficult for me to acquire what we'll need."
Chronostasis simply bowed his head for a few moments, before expressing sorrow.
"Overhaul-sama, tell me what you need me to do."
"What I need, is for you to do your job. I wont allow my brother to slip through my fingers again."
"I understand. Soon, we'll be ready to...gain that boy back."
Kai noticed how Chronostasis' voice turned from one of loyalty, to one that was beginning to be filled with hatred.
"If I didn't know any better, then I'd say that you were against bringing my brother back to us."
Chronostasis didn't want to let on, on how much he truly didn't like Keita, for various reasons, so denied it with a shaking head.
"No, of course not. I want him back just as much as you! But, the Hero's will be difficult."
"That's why, we have to strike when their guards are going to be down...when they think they're the safest." His eyes went back to the Hero who's eyes were continuing to leak tears. "And this man, will help us with that."
The Hero looked on with fear as he was dragged away.
Kai looked down the alleyway, and fixed it with his Quirk, leaving behind no trace of anything.
Now he was beginning to truly make his move.
What he had in store...everyone would soon see.
End chapter!
