I expected the creatures whom rules this world to be a bit more. . . Well, more.
I was hoping for tentecals, big foreheads, perhaps even a third eye. But no. These creatures were . . .plain. Almost a carbon copy of myself.
A flat face, 2 eyes, outturn nose and weird short hair. They didn't even have pointed ears like me.
How very disappointing.
The man was wearing a fancy robe, black and sharp. A black rope material around his collar that fell down to his waist, must be fashionable? Gods did it look uncomfortable. He was pale, with bright blue eyes, pointed footware and black hair. He had broad shoulders, thick arms and legs that indicated that he exercised well.
I made myself look curious but cautious. Tucking my feet as close to my chest as I possibly could, keeping in mind the slight sting I felt in the restraints. There was nothing I could do about my hands strapped to the side of the bed, but I kept silent.
Looking up to the strange man, I tilted my head, my long white hair falling to the side.
The man in front of me looked confident. He held himself in such a manor, that he believed himself superior to me. Just what I wanted.
Crossing his arms, and looking me up and down the man spoke. He had a deep gruff voice, his words strange and fast.
I assume he was asking me questions, as he kept repeating the same words over again.
Once he stopped talking, obviously realising he wasn't getting anywhere with this pointless interrogation, he looked at me again. He was curious, I could tell.
I was his first alien, I was honoured. I grinned, showing my slightly pointed teeth. I found this highly amusing. Pointing to my restraints with my head, indicating that these were highly uncomfortable and quite painful and that I wanted him to know I wanted them off.
He looked where I pointed, getting the message but instead he lifted up his forefinger.
What in the world did that mean?
One?
One what? One eye? One moon?
I inwardly groaned. Maybe they weren't that intelligent.
I raised my shoulders, and shook my head. He got the hint.
Ignoring my request he raised both hands and pointed to himself, "Darren" he stated, then he pointed to me.
Ah, that's how he wants to play it. Copying his movements I pointed to my self.
I tried to say my name but my words caught in my throat.
All that came out was a spluttered mess, coughs and wheezes. I hadn't released my throat was soo raw and sore. 'Darren' just looked at me, expecting. Some water would have been nice? I raised an eyebrow, questioning his ignorance to my suffering. Mentally rolling my eyes, I swallowed.
Here goes nothing. Breathing in deeply, I pointed at my self.
"Kyon"
He repeated my name, as if to see how it sounded on his tongue. He nodded as if in acceptance. Lifting a hand to his face and pressing a device lodge in his ear, he mumbled something. A demand of some sort.
Seconds later, the door opened and a man carrying a metal tool around his shoulder-a weapon perhaps, walked in. He wore thick clothing, somewhat similar to the warriors back home. All black, with huge footware-also black. He carried a small bottle of water. The new comer handed it to my interrogator without uttering a word and left.
Yup, this dude, in front of me, was in charge. He was the man to look out for.
He started walking towards me, his pointed shoes making a clicking sound as he went. Smiling, he handed me the water, as if to reward me for communicating with him.
This guy was testing me, he knew I was restrained and yet he expected me to grab the water from him. I jingle my restrains around my arm, my irritation evident.
The stranger laughed, and walked right up beside me. Kneeling down he pulled out a key and carefully put it in the key hole, releasing me from the restrains. Instantly, relief flooded through me. Rubbing my wrist I watched this man as he watched me. Our gaze locked with each other, both seeing what the other would do- him, to see what my reaction would be; of being freed from those cuffs. Me? I was wondering when he would pass me the stupid bottle of water because now that I realised just how dry my throat was, it was really annoying me. I wanted the water, like, now.
After about 20 intense seconds of eye contact, he finally passed me the water.
Wearily, I took the bottle from him. Quickly taking a sniff of the contents, concluding that there was no dangerous chemicals, i gulped the life giving substance. The cool liquid soothed my throat instantly, it was pure bliss.
I watched as Darren rose from the ground, and called someone into the room with us. A few moments later a lady, wearing strange blue clothing and gloves walked in.
After introducing herself, she slowly walked towards me, palms up and gently talking. I let her come to my right as I watched her approach.
All the while, Darren was observing me, watching for a reaction that might indicate me posing a threat.
Pointing to Mr.Monitor, she lifted up my gown and took off the monitors that was placed on my stomach. I hadn't even even realised they were there.
Gently placing one hand on the restraints around my ankles, she pulled out a key.
With a click my ankles were freed. I slide my feet to me chest and rubbed my ankles.
Now what did they want from me?
Darren approached me again, and held out his hand. I smiled at him and took his hand. I should probably do what these creatures wanted, see where i was kept and if they wanted to harm me.
Darren helped me to my feet, and I gripped his arm once i realised how unsteady I was. Gods, how long was it since i last walked?
The pain in my ribs worsened as i tried to take a step. I sucked in a breath, trying to steady myself. I ended up leaning all my weight on Darren as he led me out of the room. Gently placing a hand around my waist and allowing me to grip his other hand he directed me through a maze of corridors.
We were in a building for sure, i think it's underground as there was no windows, just the artificial light hanging from the roof. I made sure to memorise as much as possible, the locked doors, the air that smelt of chemicals and the people we passed, whom all were dressed in black and carried the same weapon as the man who brought me the water earlier.
I wanted to know where he was leading me. He didn't seem violent, but I couldn't be sure. I did not just survive an apocalyptic event, space and a crash landing at the age of 13 to die by misjudging my kidnappers.
We entered a room, with a bed and a funny looking seat with a hole in it. The walls were all white, no windows and a black box was sitting in the corner. There was a burning question i was dying to know, and i needed to know now. I had wanted to know since I woke up.
Tuning toward Darren I asked him what planet I was on. Maybe he was familiar with AlfĂ na, a language which originated from our neighbouring galaxy, which my Papa taught me. When he shook his head, I started running through all the languages I knew- which not to brag was quite a few.
I could tell Darren wasn't understanding anything and with the look on his face I could tell that all he was hearing was nonsense. Rolling my eyes at his lack of intellect, I pointed to us. Then the ground, and gestured around us.
He started talking, both of us as useless as the other. Me waving my arms around changing between languages and him spouting nonsense. It was a site to see.
Until suddenly I recognise a word he said. I felt a chill creep up my back. No, this can't be right. It's not possible. I pushed Darren back, causing me to stumble on my feet. I couldn't believe it. I crashed to the floor, my hands shaking.
Darren quickly followed me to the ground, hands on my shoulders. He said it again and my whole world crumbled-again. Tears streamed down my face and I could faintly hear my sobs.
How is this possible? How could I have been lost for that long? How am I even alive?
I looked over my arms, and hands. How was I not a rotting corpse by now? How do i still look 13?
I looked at Darren, who was kinda fuzzy due to the tears pooling in my eyes. Swallowing, I repeated what he said.
"E-Earth?"
He nodded his head, his expression confused at my reaction.
I couldn't help the sob that escaped me.
I had been trapped in that pod for over a billion years because earth had barley showed signs of life. There wasn't going to be an apex species for a at least 4 billion years according to our scientists. I was trapped for that long. So long that a species was able to evolve and inhabit earth. By gods, they could mine for ore too! I couldn't believe it.
My sobbing was uncontrollable, I didn't ask for this. I didn't want to have lost so much time. I could feel my whole body shaking, hyperventilating at the truth.
What is left of my home?
