Hi guys. This is my first Law and Order UK story. I thought I would do one about my thoughts on the series five finale and what I wanted to happen instead. I know a lot of people have done this but hopefully this one is a little bit different. Please read and review as it really does help. Thanks. :)

"Get back! Get down!"

And before Ronnie and Alesha knew it they were thrown out of the way of three gunshots.

Alesha froze as they rang out with Ronnie keeping down to get out of the way. He looked towards Matt who had kept them all out of the way. Matt was now on the ground looking at the wounds he had now gotten.

"Matt!" Ronnie got up and ran over to his college.

"Ron…" Matt was stuttering as Ronnie got to him.

"It's alright Matty. I'm here. I'm here."

Ronnie grabbed Matt's hand when he reached him. Ronnie held back a feeling of sickness as he saw the extent of Matt's injuries.

Two of the three bullets had hit Matt straight in the chest. Ronnie raced to take his coat off and put it on Matt's chest. He applied pressure to help stop the bleeding. Matt kept wincing once he had done this but didn't say anything against it.

Matt's eyes were darting everywhere and sometimes closing with Matt falling unconscious. The usual colour in his face had pretty much faded away. His legs and his arms were basically limp with sudden movements now and again. Ronnie could tell the paramedics would need to get there soon or Matts life would be in grave danger.

"Come on Matty stay with us." Ronnie said, holding back tears. He had to be strong for Matt and Alesha.

"Al… Ale….Alesha…." Matt struggled to say. As soon as he had got the words out blood came out of his mouth and split down his chin.

Ronnie looked back to the railings, still not taking pressure off of Matt's chest. Alesha was shaking like a leaf! She was still in the same place that she had been since the shots went off.

"She's alright. You got her out." Ronnie smiled down at Matt to comfort him. Matt just nodded but didn't say anything.

Matt was finding it hard to breathe let alone talk to Ronnie. His throat was now filled with blood and a sting in the back of his throat had now taken over.

Alesha knew she had to go over. She hated seeing Matt hurt but they were too close to let him go without seeing her. She brushed herself off and dragged her hand away from the railings she had been holding onto for all this time.

She made her way to Matt and Ronnie. Ronnie gave her small weak smile as she came nearer. Alesha minded where she kneeled down so she didn't get any blood on her. She also felt a little queasy when she saw Matt.

Matt weakly put his hand up to reach out to her. Alesha saw this and put her hand in his. Matt gave out a little smile. He winced as Alesha moved the blood from his mouth. She then leant down and gave him a careful kiss on the lips. Ronnies eyes widened as he saw this but though nothing else of it.

"Matt. hold on come on. Please don't leave me." Alesha said nearly sobbing. Ronnie tried to keep spirits up but Alesha kept everything else out of her mind and just focused on Matt.

Matt didn't say anything else, just kept nodding whenever anyone said anything. His eyes were getting heavier and heavier by the minute. He wouldn't be able to keep them open for much longer.

"Where's that ambulance?!" Ronnie sighed as he looked around.

Alesha kept rubbing Matt's hand to keep him conscious as Ronnie got more and more agitated.

"Alesha?" A familiar voice came from behind the two colleges. Ronnie and Alesha put their head up for a few seconds.

Jacob was staring at them. He had obviously heard the commotion and come out to find out what it was.

"Any word for the ambulance?" Ronnie asked him.

"Not yet." Jacob answered worriedly.

"Go and see where it is." Ronnie waved the lawyer off.

Jacob had only known Ronnie, Matt and Alesha for a few weeks but he already felt like they were friends. He would do anything for them. He went towards the nearest police officer to ask them.

Matt's eyes began to close.

"Matt?" Alesha asked quietly.

Matt didn't reply and his eyes shut. Alesha looked at Ronnie.

"Matt? Matt?!" Alesha kept saying.

"Come on Matty don't give up on us now." Ronnie said.

"I love you. Please, I'll go out with you if you stay around." Alesha begged.

"You hear that Matty? You've got something to stay around for now." Ronnie chuckled trying to keep everyone's spirits up.

"He's going to be okay right Ronnie?" Alesha asked Ronnie with her eyes full of tears.

Ronnie looked over at Matt. His face was pale as the snow now and his big blue eyes were now completely shut. Even though Alesha had moved the blood from his mouth there was still a little bit on his collar.

"Yeah he's going to be fine." Ronnie said patting Alesha on the back.

Alesha nodded and turned her attention back to Matt.

"Matt. I love you." Alesha said, bending down to Matts ear. She kept praying after this that Matt would be fine.

Ronnie looked at the crowd gathered around the scene. Press, public and officers alike were staring at Matt lying on the floor motionless. Ronnie got up and went over to Jacob.

"Get these lot back, would you?" Ronnie said to Jacob.

"Course. Right come on you lot move it!" Jacob said to the crowd with the support of other officers that were gathered.

"What are they looking at anyway?!" Ronnie sighed.

"Matt…" Alesha said looking up.

Matts eyes fluttered open. Alesha smiled as he looked at her again. Before they could say anything sirens and blue lights approached with the ambulance finally coming into view.
