As the next few days passed, Kurt started to brainstorm different ideas on how to reveal the fact that he, a male, was pregnant, with their baby. Never in a million years had Kurt ever expected this to happen to him or to them. They had always dreamed of having children, using a surrogate and asking one of their many female friends to carry the child, like Quinn or Rachel.

Although this was not what they had planned for their future, Kurt was overjoyed and was constantly trying to hide the placement of his hand on his belly. He knew he needed to tell Blaine soon, he just didn't want to reveal it before thinking of the perfect way to tell Blaine that he was about to become a father.

After hours and hours of trying to find inspiration on the internet, Kurt had a list of some of his favorite ideas. He could order pizza and have them reveal the news on the pizza. He could reveal the news by baking a cake and writing the words in icing. He could design a shirt for Blaine to wear, revealing the news. He could purchase baby clothing and gift them to Blaine. He could purchase a 'What to expect when you're expecting' book. Or he could buy Blaine a color changing mug, that would reveal the news when the mug changes from cold to hot.

Even with the list of ideas, Kurt didn't know which one would be perfect. He decided to think about it some more before making a decision. In the meantime, he considered asking Isabelle if he could create a line of clothing for babies and children. Knowing that he would soon be venturing into purchasing clothing for his own child, he wanted to explore this new road he was traveling on. With this thought, he realized he would need to tell Isabelle why he all of a sudden wanted to make children's clothing. He really wanted Blaine to be the first person he told, but he also knew that Isabelle could also help give him some great advice. She had always been there for him when he had least expected it. Not only was she the world's best boss, but she was also a great mentor and friend.

A few days later, he was once again bent over the toilet, but actually understood why this time. Blaine thankfully was still clueless but had started to show more concern.

"Kurt, Sweetie, I think you should see a doctor. You've been throwing up each day this morning and sometimes during the day too. A stomach bug wouldn't last this long. And it's not the flu because you haven't had a temperature or any other symptoms. What if it's something more serious?" Blaine worried as he wrapped his arms around Kurt while sitting on the floor of their bathroom.

Kurt once again rested against Blaine's chest, like he first had a few days ago. Not wanting to worry Blaine too much, he said, "Just give it a few more days. It's probably one of those stomach bugs that lasts a week instead of just 24 hours." And knowing that Blaine would want him to rest more, he continued, "How about I head back to bed and then I can give Isabelle a call. I'll let her know what is going on and that I can work once I'm well rested?"

"Are you sure? I just wonder if this is more than just being sick to your stomach. And you shouldn't be working if you are not feeling well. There is a reason why you have sick pay. For when you are sick," Blaine worried as he held his husband. But knowing that he wouldn't be able to change Kurt's mind, he continued, "I guess if you think it will go away soon, then I won't make you go. But if it gets to a week and you are still not well, then I am setting up an appointment for you."

"Thank you, thank you for understanding. We just have to give it time," Kurt said, even though he knew it would be longer than a week. But with plans to tell Blaine of the news before the week was over, he didn't worry about this too much. "If you help me get back to bed and then you can go start your day? And do not worry about me, I'll be fine on my own. I can get some more sleep and watch Netflix. And I'll call Isabelle. She'll want to know how I'm doing anyways," he continued.

Once Blaine had made sure Kurt was comfortable in bed, with a glass of water on the nightstand and the remote handy, Blaine left Kurt to rest while he went to start his day. He still needed to write one more song for his album, but had yet to find any inspiration. He really wanted to write two more songs, but had to start with one song at a time. Little did he know, his inspiration would come to him in just a few days time.

Just in the other room, Kurt laid in bed, waiting to hear the close of the door to Blaine's at home recording studio. Upon hearing the click of the door, Kurt signed with relief before grabbing his phone to call Isabelle.

After two rings, he was greeted by Isabelle's wonderful voice, "Kurt! My, am I glad to be hearing from you! How are you feeling?" She asked.

With a small smile, he replied, "Morning, Isabelle. That's actually why I called. I have news. But it is top secret. I haven't even told Blaine yet!"

He could hear her clapping her hands in excitement on the other end of the line, knowing that she loved to gossip and was excellent at keeping his secrets. "Oh honey, you can tell me anything!" she gushed.

Taking a deep breath, Kurt voiced it for the first time, "I'm pregnant."

Not missing a beat she replied, "Oh Kurt, congratulations! You are going to be a fantastic daddy! I can already picture the clothes you'll dress that little baby in!"

Kurt was relieved that she didn't even question how it was possible. He knew she could easily look that up for herself. But she was so much better for giving him encouragement. He had been a little nervous to make this call, but he was happy with how it was going.

"Speaking of clothing, I was wondering if I could start a children's line. We both know that this would be the perfect transition for me to make in these coming months," he asked.

"Oh, you just read my mind! That is the first thing that popped into my mind when you told me the happy news! Now, have you told Blaine?" she replied with both excitement and wonder.

Signing, he said, "Not yet. I've convinced him that it's just a stomach bug. But he wants me to see a doctor if I don't get any better. And you and I both know that's not happening, so I have to come up with a way to tell him. Any chance you have an idea? Nothing I've found has really sparked my interest or called out to me. It just has to be perfect."

Thinking it over for a few seconds, Isabelle came up with the perfect idea, "Well, since we've decided that you'll be starting up a clothing line, why don't you design an outfit and show Blaine the design. And when you tell him why you'll be focused on a children's line, you can say 'so that our baby has something to wear of course!' Or something along those lines. You'll know what to do in the moment. You got this. Now get some more rest and then you can start designing. Anything you come up with is bound to be fabulous!"

As he closed his eyes, feeling the sleepiness come back to him, he replied, "Oh, I knew you were the right person to talk to! Thanks for the advice! You are the best!"

Happy with how the phone call went, Kurt put his phone back on the nightstand before snuggling down into the bedsheets. It didn't take long before he closed his eyes and was sound asleep. Dreaming of a big house and raising a family with his husband.

Kurt slowly woke up just around lunchtime, realizing his stomach had started to grumble. All he could think about eating was chicken and waffles, drenched in honey. For anyone who knew Kurt, they would know he did not eat fried foods often, nor did he insist on having waffles for lunch. But as soon as his mind started thinking about it, he would not be satisfied until he had some.

Blaine walked through their bedroom door just as Kurt sat up in bed, ready to climb out of bed. Seeing that Kurt was awake, Blaine rushed to his side and sat down on the bed next to him.

"Honey, did you have a good rest? How are you feeling? It's just about noon, would you be interested in trying to eat something? I could make you some toast or even heat up a bowl of soup?" Blaine asked as he rested a hand on Kurt's knee.

Placing his hand on top of Blaine's, he said, "I feel so well rested. Like I could start the day and maybe get some work done! And no thank you, no soup or toast for me today. But do you know what I would love right about now?"

Seeing the smile on Kurt's face, Blaine asked with a smile, "What do you want sweetie?"

"Chicken and waffles with lots and lots of honey! I feel like it could just melt in my mouth," Kurt said as he closed his eyes, dreaming of taking a bite.

A little surprised, Blaine asked, "Are you sure? That doesn't really sound like something you would eat? And plus, if you aren't feeling well, how do you know if you'll be able to keep it down? I think soup would be a better option."

At Blaine's questioning, Kurt opened his eyes, grabbed his husband by the shoulders and clearly spoke, "I am absolutely 100% sure. All I want right now are some delicious chicken and waffles, but do not forget lots of honey. The honey just completes the dish."

Still surprised at Kurt's choice of meal, Blaine hesitated before speaking, "Oh, okay. Chicken and waffles it is. With honey! I'll just… I'll have to see what I can do, I think I happened to see it on the menu of the restaurant just down the street. And I believe they are on one of the food delivery apps. How about I order them while you go take a nice hot shower?"

Giving Blaine a kiss, Kurt said, "You are the best husband ever!" He kissed Blaine once more before heading into their bathroom.

45 minutes later, Kurt walked into their kitchen with unstyled wet hair, an old Dalton hoody of Blaine's and a pair of Blaine's sweatpants, which were a little too short for Kurt. As soon as he entered the kitchen, he could automatically smell the delicious food. It didn't take long before Kurt started shoving bite after bite into his mouth, each dripping with honey.

Blaine just sat back, slowly eating his meal while watching his husband turn into a whole new person. He also loved seeing Kurt wearing his clothes. As he watched Kurt eat, he wondered how it was possible that Kurt could be this hungry. Not too long ago, Kurt had his head in the toilet bowl and now he was stuffing his face with fatty foods. It just didn't add up. He wondered what was really wrong with his husband. It almost felt like the reason was just on the tip of his fingers but he couldn't quite place it.

Little did he know that he would continue to wonder over the next few days, as Kurt had the same craving over and over again. It would all add up once Kurt revealed the big news, the news that would change their lives, but in an unexpected pleasant way. Until then, Blaine was left in the dark, trying to find the light.
