In the morning, Jackie was woken up by Wade and Rachel. Rachel had Jackie's Cell phone in her hands as she was going through her many messages as the doctor walked in the room. Dr. Philips began examining Jackie's badly bruised face and removed the splint from Jackie's arm. It was two time its normal size. As the doctor, placed it back into the splint, he explained to Jackie her x-rays. He would have put in some pins into her wrist to help the bones merge correctly. Following 6 weeks of her arm being in a cast, Jackie would need therapy to regain her strength in her wrist. Jackie was disappointed that she would be doing most of the movie's promotions in a cast. As the doctor left, Jackie was scheduled for surgery later in the evening.

Wade told Jackie there was a large crowd outside the hospital. He was getting ready to go outside to give a statement on her condition. Wade asked Jackie, "Is there anything you want me to tell your fans? " Jackie couldn't think of anything. As he left, Jackie asked Rachel if there was a message from a Catherine Stark. Rachel looked and gave Jackie her phone knowing it was personal. It said, I miss you too, Porcupine. Thinking for a moment, Jackie asked Rachel to leave her. Jackie wanted to hear Catherine's voice, so she pushed the call button. Nervous, Jackie's call went straight to voicemail. Jackie heard the message in it's entirety. It said, " You have reached, Catherine Stark, please leave your name and a brief message and I will get back to you." Jackie decided to hang up, as she knew no words would come out of her month to leave a message. She had, what felt like, a huge lump in her throat. God, Jackie loved hearing that voice. Even after that same voice told her she wasn't worth it and humiliated her the night Catherine brought a new lover home. Jackie remembered that night like it was yesterday, Catherine said to her new lover when he told Catherine someone was on her couch, "It's that kid from some show called Saturn." Looking at Jackie, Catherine then said "Hey, make sure you shut off the TV when you finish watching your cartoons." Jackie shut her eyes tightly as she felt the pain of that moment again. Rachel walked over to her and said "Let me get the nurse, you look like your in a lot of pain."

Wiping the tears from her eyes, Jackie told her she was okay motioning to her arm. Jackie wasn't really talking about her arm and was glad she was able to cover up her heart break from Rachel. As she laid in the hospital bed, she kept hearing her cell phone go off as Rachel began answering her calls. Jackie wanted to rest, so she asked Rachel to go to her house and bring the laptop, some toiletries and clothes to have ready when she was released. A security guard was at the door and was instructed to not allow anyone in to see her beside hospital personnel, Wade or Rachel. Jackie's mother wasn't keen on hospitals, so Jackie knew she wouldn't see her make an appearance until she was home. As Jackie slept most of the day. Rachel went to her house and packed up the things she had requested. As she was doing this Jackie's cell phone began ringing, it was Catherine Stark. Rachel answered, but Catherine didn't say anything until Rachel said, "Hello, how can I help you. I'm Ms. Kirk's personal assistant.

Catherine said, "Yes, hello. I'm Catherine an old friend of Jackie's from college. I saw I had a missed call from her number, and was returning her call. How is she?" Rachel said, "Ms. Stark, Ms. Kirk is doing well. She is still in the hospital, she will have surgery on her wrist later tonight. Catherine asked to speak to her, but Rachel informed her she had left the hospital with Jackie's cell phone to run some errands. She also told Catherine she would let her know she had called.

Catherine sighed at missing Jackie's call this morning as she was in the shower. When Rachel got back to the hospital, Jackie was awake. She was reading a magazine as she did not want to watch anything about her on television. She had security go down and buy her some magazines telling Rachel she owed them $15 bucks. As Rachel sat down, she told Jackie about the call she had received from Catherine Stark, her old college buddy. Jackie laughed out loud when she heard Rachel telling her that Catherine introduced herself as her old college buddy. Jackie and Catherine had never been friends, plus Jackie remembered how upset Catherine was when she was introduced as such, back in Bloomington, when they went to the Hollywood executives' party. Thinking back, Jackie knew that had hurt Catherine a great deal.

Jackie asked Rachel for her cell phone as she texted Catherine. "I can't talk on the phone as you might already suspect I'm not alone, but with my assistant. I'm sorry I missed your call, hopefully, we can talk soon. P.S. Rachel, AKA my assistant, told me you called yourself my "old college buddy". I mean you are old, but Catherine, we were never friends or so called buddies. XOXO." Jackie hit send. Catherine laughed out loud as she read Jackie's text message.

Catherine texted her immediately back and said, "college buddies"was the only thing I could think of in that moment when some girl answered your cell phone. P.S. I hope your okay. XOXO. Jackie, I'm not old. Just remember, I will get you back for that one." Catherine pushed send. Laughing, Jackie read her text.

Jackie replied, "Catherine, I know you'll get me back. You always did get me back for joking about our age difference. Hey, I miss you. I hate hospitals. I'm scared, Catherine. I wish you were here with me to hold my hand." Jackie hit send.

Catherine read Jackie message and teared up. Catherine texted, "I wish I was with you." She hit send.

Jackie read the return message, "Then come be with me." Jackie hit send. After a long pause, she heard from Catherine again. Catherine texted "Jackie, I got a flight to Los Angeles and I am landing at 11pm. See you soon."

Jackie had Rachel call Catherine as she was being wheeled into surgery. Jackie told Rachel that Catherine needed to be picked up at the airport and would be staying with her for an undisclosed amount of time. Jackie told Rachel that Catherine was to be given the VIP treatment and was to have full access to her wherever she was at. Nothing was to be kept from Catherine. Rachel was to make sure Catherine was listed as family at the hospital.

As Rachel called Catherine and got the details of her flight. Rachel told Catherine that Jackie was just wheeled into surgery at 6:30pm. Doctors said it would at most be a couple of hours to insert the pins, and that Jackie would be in recovery for another few hours after surgery. Catherine was already on her way to the airport as spoke to Rachel and dropped off Ethan with the neighbor. Her flight would be arriving around 11pm. Jackie should be back in her room by then.

Rachel and Jackie's personal driver Ramon picked Catherine up from the airport. As they drove, Rachel gave Catherine an update of Jackie's condition following surgery. Catherine asked to be driven to the hospital to see her. Hospital visiting hours were already over, but since Catherine was listed as family and Jackie was a very special guest, she could choose to spend the night with Jackie, if she so chose to do so. Rachel gave Catherine her driver's cell number if she decided to stay at Jackie's home instead or needed him for anything. Both Rachel and the driver Ramon were on call 24 hours as Ms. Kirk personal staff.

As Catherine was escorted by Rachel up to Jackie private hospital room, Catherine was introduced to both the nurses and the security guard. Rachel said goodnight and left, as Catherine entered Jackie's room. Jackie was already asleep. The nurse gave Catherine a pillow and a blanket as she explained Jackie's status. Surgery had gone well and so had recovery. Jackie was given a sedative to sleep and some morphine for the pain. As the nurse left, Catherine touched her good arm and kissed her forehead. Catherine sat next to her and dosed off, in the middle of the night, Jackie woke up in extreme pain. Jackie saw Catherine and asked her to get the nurse. Catherine said, "Porcupine, the nurse is coming." As she saw Jackie squirming and crying out in pain. The nurse entered the room and proceeded to ask Jackie her level of pain. Jackie was at a level 10, at that the nurse gave Jackie a dose of morphine. The nurse said, "Shhh Ms. Kirk, you should be feeling the effects in about 15 minutes or so as Jackie continued to squirm and cry. Looking over at Catherine, Jackie knew Catherine was scared for her. Catherine stood next to her and brushed away her hair from her forehead as she tried to calm her down, slow the morphine took effect and Jackie fell asleep. Catherine had never seen Jackie in such pain, she felt hopeless.
