...

"Found Wu!" Nick calls out in the precinct. "Who had Nebraska?"

Everybody looks at the big chalkboard disappointed. Franco calls out "Booyah! Pay up guys!"

Hank pulls an envelope full of twenty dollar bills out of the desk and hands it to Franco.

A month earlier...

Nick and Hank were investigating a string of violent Wesen on Wesen murders. All the victims had died by their throats being torn out. They were Wesen with long and violent criminal records. The officers already knew every single one of them after arresting them over and over.

They checked and it wasn't gang related. They checked the books but nothing conclusive came up

There was something familiar about the injuries but they couldn't place what it was.

Finally on the ninth murder they got a lead. Fingerprints!

No criminal record but they finally found the fingerprints on a background check application - Lindsey Smithington. No pics in the system so they found her Facebook profile. It was mostly off-color video game memes and a few posts complaining about miscellaneous computer technology. They looked at the picture - 5'3, 175lbs, pale as a ghost, greasy dark brown hair without any style and her clothes looked like they all came from the bottom of a thrift store bargain bin. Occupation listed as a night shift call center computer technician. As they paged through - they found an ex-boyfriend who was some sort of gamer star wars fan that loved comic book conventions.

Forensics was still working on evidence, but this was the only thing resembling a lead they had. May as well go cross it off their list.

Nick and Hank headed out to her apartment. They saw her sitting there on the couch playing video games but she wasn't answering the door. A half an hour of pounding later she eventually answered the door. She was standing in front of them crunching Cheetos with her mouth open and scattering orange dust and crumbs down the front of her shirt and all over her clothes.

"Lindsey, we are doing an investigation into a murder. Where were you last Tuesday night?"

*crunch crunch* "They call me a Smith" *snicker* *crunch crunch*.

"Um, OK, 'Smith' where were you last Tuesday night?"

*Snort*. "Get it! From 'The Matrix?' A Smith?"

They looked at her with a blank look.

She rolls her eyes "Seriously? Nobody ever gets me!" She sticks her dusty orange fingers into her bra and pulls her phone out leaving orange dusty stripes all over her skin and shirt. She starts posting something online. Then she turns around and wanders off back into the apartment.

They look at eachother stunned. Hank continues. "Uh, Ma'am! This is a murder investigation!" But she's already wandered off. She left the door wide open so they follow her into the apartment.

She is now sitting back on the couch playing a video game and eating Cheetos with headphones on and completely ignoring them.

Nick is a bit annoyed "Smith! We need to ask you some questions!"

"Huh? What are you guys still doing here?"

Hank asks her again "Where were you last Tuesday night?"

"I don't know." And she looks at them with a blank look. "I'll have to check my phone."

They wait for a few minutes, but she had already gone back to playing her video game.

Both of them roll their eyes at her. There's no chance this is a murderer, still maybe she knows something.

Finally Hank pulls the plug on her TV and the game clicks off.

"HEY! What are you guys still doing here? Why did you shut down my game? I'm probably dead now!"

Nick scowls "Where were you Tuesday night?"

"Ok whatever". She rolls her eyes and pulls her phone back out of her bra *again* leaving more orange residue on her skin and shirt. "It says I went over to Justin Edwards I guess to play games till one then I went to Ralph Jones place after that for more games I guess. Then I came back here. I don't really remember. I don't know them, I think I met them online or something."

They look through their notes - those men were both victims. Jones was a serial rapist and Edwards had a violent rap sheet miles long. They had gotten her prints from Jones' house.

Nick asks "Do you mind if we look around a bit?"

"Huh? *Mumble* Whatever." She is already buried in her phone ignoring all of them again.

As they are poking around Nick finds several changes of blood crusted clothes laying around. "Hank! Looky here!"

Hank comes out of the bathroom "And look at this!" There's a dried bloody handprint on the mirror and more dried blood on the floor. It's not new though.

CSU was going to have to go over the whole place. This didn't make any sense though. The girl didn't seem to know anything or even care. Nick pulled the "Grimm Card" but she didn't seem to have any idea what it was about. They were going to have to push a little harder.

They took her in for questioning while CSU worked their way through her place. As she looked through her phone for locations and dates they found she was tied to every single one of the string of murders.

Finally enough was enough. They knew she was tied to this, they just couldn't figure out how. Wu was now in with them. They brought Monroe over and had him Bludbad the girl. Instantly she transformed and it shocked all of them.

She was a Neander! Apparently she didn't know it.

Wu instantly transformed. Neander Wu and the female Neander looked at eachother, grunted, smirked and one millisecond later bolted out the door at top speed.

Nick, Hank, and Monroe were now all standing there looking at eachother totally confused. Monroe finally smirks "Hey! Look! Another one! I gotta call Rosalee."

Hank is snickering and scratching his head "Nick Buddy, I did not expect that!"

They chased them out of the precinct, but the two Neanders were gone.

Three days later the trail had gone cold. Nobody had seen anything. Nobody knew where Wu or the girl had gone. No cellphone, credit card, or even surveillance was turning up. Their cars were still parked at their places.

Renard snickered "Well, Wu hasn't taken any vacation in nine years, we'll just put him on vacation till he turns up."

Nick was curious "Aren't you worried about the girl?"

Renard isn't "Those guys had rap sheets twenty miles long - they probably tried to rape her or something. She saved the tax payers millions of dollars. Anyway, nobody would believe a girl like that could kill anybody. I watched the video - she walked into doors twice because she wouldn't pay attention to anything. Tell me when you hear from him."

A few weeks later Nick got a phone call from Nebraska. It was a familiar voice on the other end.

"Hey Wu! How's your honeymoon going?"

"Honeymoon?"

Nick isn't going to miss an opportunity *snicker "Yeah, how are things working out with that Lindsey girl?"

Wu is confused "What's her name again?"

Nick snickers "You've been with her over a month and don't know her name?"

Wu snickers now "I guess we haven't done much talking"

Nick is laughing "It's that Lindsey girl. You busted her out of the precinct interrogation room a month ago and ran off."

"A month ago? I've been gone a month?" Wu looks at the girl "Huh? Nick, there's no way this was that weird girl." Then he wispers "She's smokin hot!" He calls out "Hey, what's your name? What? You're a Smith? Wait, like from 'The Matrix?'" *snicker*

Nick rolled his eyes. They were perfect for eachother. "Yep, that's her. I would ask what you guys have been up to but I am pretty sure I know."

He hears Wu snicker over the phone "Hey Nick, I kinda need a favor. Can you come pick us up?"

"Sure, I guess, where are you? The phone says Minden, Nebraska."

Wu looks around "I'm not really sure. It's a really little town in the middle of a million miles of corn. We sorta woke up way up in a tree in some guy's yard this morning. Um, and can you bring some clothes? Ours are pretty much ruined."

"Found Wu!" Nick calls out in the precinct. "Who had Nebraska?"

Everybody looks at the big chalkboard. Franco calls out "Booyah! Pay up guys!"

Hank pulls an envelope full of twenty dollar bills out of his desk and hands it to Franco.

Nick knocks on the captain's door "Found Wu and the girl!"

Renard smiles "Who had it?"

"Franco. They're in Nebraska."

Renard snickers "1,500 miles in four weeks on foot? Across three mountain ranges, a major desert, and several big rivers? That's doing pretty good."

Nick snickers "He said they woke up in the top of a big oak tree in somebody's yard this morning."

Renard laughs out loud "That's one heck of a weight loss plan."

Nick is still snickering "He didn't even know her name."

Renard smirks "A month? I wonder if it's going to be a boy or a girl?"

Both of them laugh.

Two days later the SUV pulled up in Minden Nebraska. Beautiful and Scenic! Corn as far as the eye could see. They found Wu and Lindsey at an old empty farm bunkhouse outside town. Renard was right - she had lost a LOT of weight - over fifty pounds by the look of her. Her skin was bronze and her hair had highlights bleached by the sun. She looked like an internet fitness model under torn up clothes eight-sizes too big for her. She had six pack abs and a very toned shapely figure. She was hanging all over Wu and had both hands inside his clothes. As soon as she opened her mouth though - it was the same girl.
