A/N: Uhm, I would like to say thank you. Jeez I sound like I've just won the Grammy. But yeah thank you for reviewing. But thank you CaptinMcSchizzl because you have reviewed twice and both of those times you were so kind. So thank you! I'm skipping pipers pov sorry I'm just lazy. I will lift the depressing mood in this chapter a bit and maybe add some percabeth in this and the next chapters. Also, they might get a visit from a lovely goddess soon so yeah.
Annabeth's Pov:
I hated him. Who did he think he was tearing me apart like an old school essay? Gosh he was so arrogant and annoying but at the same time so cute and amazing and HE KISSED RACHEL! These were my thoughts that kept on circling around my head for a few minutes. I sat on my bed crying and eating my bowl of Ice-cream Piper had brought me. After a few minutes I heard a knock on the door.
"I'll go get it." Said Piper dangerously. She opened the door and started talking to someone in a hushed voice. I couldn't who it was or hear what they were saying so I scooted closer to the end of my bed to hear what they were saying a bit better.
"-Let me see her please." Said Percy shakily. Had he been crying?
"No. You've done enough she needs a bit of space."
"Please Pipes please. I just need to see her and tell her sorry. And I have some information I think she would like to know." At this I was curious. What did he have to tell me? I got up and put a hand on Pipers shoulder.
"Let him. I want to know what he has to say." I said. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Percy sigh with relief. He walked in and sat on my bed.
"Do you want me to stay?" asked Piper raising an eyebrow.
"No, it's fine. I'll call you if I need anything. Thanks for everything Pipes." That sounded mean. But is smiled gratefully hoping that fixed it. It probably didn't.
"What?!" I asked straight forwardly.
"I'm sorry."
I laughed half-heartedly in his face. Wow I could get snarky and mean sometimes.
"Last time you said that things didn't end well." I stated glaring at him.
"Well this time I mean it and I'm very sorry. I hurt you and I'm sorry."
"Ok." I rolled my eyes.
"We can re-build our friendship again? Though I don't think you'll be able to trust me." He looked down at the floor looking miserable. That was something we both were.
I took a deep, shaky breath. "Maybe. I'll definitely need time to heal though. And you're right I probably won't be able to trust you." I put my face in my hands and started crying very abruptly. I don't know why I guess sadness had bottled up inside of me and talking to Percy made it explode. You're a child of Athena Annabeth not Aphrodite. Get yourself together. My logical part of my brain scolded me but my more human part of my brain said otherwise and let me cry.
"And about your quest." he said. I looked up and saw him staring at me his sea-green eyes looking worried and scared but still mesmerising all the same . I could stare at them for hours without getting bored.
"Yes?" Something a bit more factual than emotions. A good change of subject. Or maybe not considering we were talking about my potential death. My tears had dried up. Wow my mood swings were rough.
"I've been having dreams about it."
"What do you mean? Describe it." I was suddenly scared he knew about Arachne. Even if we weren't together anymore, I knew he still cared about me. It was his fatal flaw, loyalty, and knowing him he was going to try to stop me from going if he knew which would make it more difficult for me.
"I was in a dark cave, with beautiful tapestries hung up on the walls. In front of me was a big black shadowy figure with hundreds of eyes on her face." I shivered. "When she spoke, it sounded like hundreds of dysfunctional raspy voices speaking all at once. She'd said "She will follow the Mark to me and you cannot do anything about it, she shall die at the hands of me, A death her own mother assigned her." She tried to grab at me but I woke up. Is that what's really in there Annabeth?" I couldn't meet his eyes. I stayed silent for a minute, a minute too long.
"You knew. Didn't you. Annabeth if that's what's in there I can't let you go in alone. I-I" His voice broke "I don't want to lose you."
"What you saw was Arachne Percy."
"Wasn't she the girl that challenged your mum and got turned into a giant spider?"
"Yeah." I sighed. This was going to be hard. Wait Percy got distracted really easily.
"Annabeth you can't go! It doesn't make sense your terrified of spiders she- she'll kill you and-"
"You're cute when you're worried. Your eyebrows get all scrunched together." I interrupted. Percy blushed a smile playing at his lips probably remembering the first time I had said that to him. After I had taken a dagger for him.
Suddenly, Pipers scream pierced the air and interrupted my thoughts. I exchanged a look with Percy and together we took out our weapons and ran upstairs.
The ship slanted downwards and Leo sat at the wheel laughing manically.
"Leo! What are you doing?" Hazel screamed hanging onto Frank who was hanging onto the side railing. Percy and I hang onto the mast of the ship which was the closest thing we had to hold onto.
"I know how control the ship. I can at least give us a landing that won't kill us. You have to get Leo away from the wheel though." I whispered to Percy.
"On it." He crawled to Leo and side- tackled him.
"Get. Off! I need to kill you all. My master will reward me graciously." Leo said in a raspy voice that was definitely not his. Percy pinned his arms down and Jason crawled from wherever he was hiding to help pin down Leo's thrashing legs. Percy glared at me. Oh yeah, I was supposed to be doing things. I crawled over to where Leos Nintendo switch wheel was and I pulled a few levers and pushed a few buttons in hopes that we wouldn't die. The ship slowed down but we were still hurtling towards the ground. The ship took a sharp left towards a grassy meadow surrounded by a forest. Percy and Jason were interrogating Leo but I wasn't listening to what they were saying.
"Were going down!" I screamed. We crashed and I flew backwards into Percy and Jaso and we tumbled to the back of the ship as it flipped upside down.
"Everyone ok?" I asked as I crawled out from beneath the ship. I pulled out Hazel and we helped the others get out. We were all pretty ok just a few scratches and dishevelled hair but Leo and Jason were unconscious. Apparently, Jason had got hit with a rouge brick from one of the crates at the back of the ship. I didn't even know why we had a crate full of bricks but whatever. Piper called me to come help Jason get better. I had some pretty basic knowledge of healing from spending time in the infirmary with Will, in some of my free time, in the winters when the rest of my friends had activities. Most of all though, I was happy to have a distraction.
A/N: Sorry for quite a long chapter. Please review. As you can see, I will still be including the events from Moa so there's that. Please review.
