Hi, I hope you guys enjoyed the last chapter! I am really excited about this one. This is going to be a multiple POV chapter. Also, there is a bit of a time skip so this chapter takes place two or three weeks before their homecoming.

Chapter 17:

Johanna's POV

I am walking down the hallway to lunch when I feel somebody yank me into an empty classroom. I barely know what is happening when I feel myself getting pushed up against a wall. His lips are on my neck and I let out a little gasp. As much as I want to let him continue, I push him away. Marvel raises his brow at me. A few days after Finnick's party, Marvel pulled me aside. We both decided that we thought that the other was good looking and not a terrible kisser. After that, we kind of just started meeting up at random spots at random times throughout the day. And making out.

"What?" He asks.

I look at his face and then my watch. We probably only have a few more minutes until someone notices we are missing.

"Nothing," I say and he resumes kissing my neck and my jaw. He slowly kisses up to my mouth and I close myself and let go into the kiss. I don't know how long we kiss, but finally, Marvel pulls away.

"We should probably get to lunch."

"Yup," I respond. I smooth down my rumpled shirt and my hair. I leave the room a few seconds after Marvel has and I make my way to lunch.

When I sit down at our lunch table, Clove is glaring across the courtyard at something, Katniss and Peeta are deep in conversation, Madge is scrolling through photos of homecoming dresses, and Annie is texting and smiling at something on her phone.

"What are you so happy about?" I ask Annie.

"Hmm?" She says. Her phone chimes and she giggles when she looks down at it. Clove has stopped her glaring and now turns to Annie.

"Yeah, who are you texting?"

"Um, just my sister." Something else comes on her phone and Annie giggles again.

We all share a look and I can tell that I am not the only one that doesn't believe her. We all launch for Annie's phone at the same time. Annie falls backwards of off her chair and I hear a small snap and I freeze but everyone else keeps moving. It takes a few moments for everyone else to stop and when we do, I hear a faint sniffling from Annie.

"Oh my gosh!" I hear Clove say.

I move forward and I gasp. Annie's left wrist is bent at an odd and unnatural angle. I hear Madge gag and then I see her run to the nearest garbage can and throw up. Before I know what is happening, I see Finnick pushing past Katniss and Peeta and kneeling down at Annie's side. He is whispering something to her that the rest of us can't hear and when he helps her to her feet, he glares at us all as they pass us.

"Crap. What have we done?" I hear Katniss say. What have we done indeed?

Annie's POV:

I grit my teeth against the searing pain in my wrist and Finnick drives me to the hospital. Tears are slowly dripping down my cheeks but through my blurry vision, I can see Finnick continually glancing over at me. I don't really register anything that happens until I am sitting in a bed. I feel a small pinch in my arm and the pain dulls. Finnick is sitting on my right side, holding my none injured hand. A doctor walks into the room.

"We called your mother and she said that we are good to go ahead with the surgery," The doctor says.

"Surgery?" I ask. My voice shakes a little.

"Yes," The doctor says.

I feel Finnick squeeze my hand and I look over at him. His green eyes stare deeply into mine and they calm me down.

"Hey, it'll be fine. I got you." He kisses me delicately.

"You can stay with her until she goes under," the doctor says. Finnick smiles.

Finnick's POV:

I walk with Annie into the operating room and they give her some more pain medication. I kneel down so that she can see me and I am holding her right, non-broken hand in mine. Just before they put her under anesthesia Annie whispers something. I lean down so I can hear her.

"I louve you Finni bear," She whispers. I know she is drugged, but I still feel a little something in me jump.

I reluctantly leave her when the doctors push me out and I walk to the waiting room. I am just reaching it when Annie's mom and Sarah and Colin walk in. Annie's mother looks super worried but Sarah and Colin both look rather bored. Her mother rushes over to me.

"Where is she?" Her mother asks.

"She just went into surgery. They let me stay with her until she went under," I respond.

"Was she okay? Was she panicking? Was she in pain?" Her mom asks.

"As okay as someone who broke their wrist could be. No, she wasn't panicking. And they gave her plenty of pain meds. Trust me," I answer each question easily.

I see her mother relax and she mutters something about going over to a vending machine. Sarah and Colin meet me with awe on their faces.

"I have never seen anyone calm her down so quickly," Sarah says astoundingly.

"Usually she freaks out until she knows that Annie is okay or someone gives her a bag of M&Ms," Colin responds.

"Annie chose a good boyfriend," Sarah says. Colin and Sarah hardly stop talking and this conversation is like one run-on sentence.

"Uh, thanks," I say, unsure of quite how I am supposed to respond to that.

Then I notice that Johanna and Clove are standing behind Colin and Sarah. I tell the twins I will be right back and I walk over to Johanna and Clove.

"You and Annie are dating?" Johanna asks aghast.

"Uh, yeah," I say.

"For how long?" Clove asks.

I check the date on my phone.

"Almost a month now I think," I say. Both of their jaws drop. "But, I would prefer if you guys don't say anything to the others. We didn't want to tell anyone and I still don't know what-"

"We won't say anything," Clove says, giving Johanna a meaningful look. Johanna nods her head and we all sit down in the chairs, waiting for Annie to get out of surgery.

Annie got out of surgery about half an hour ago and I haven't been able to see her yet. I am going a little crazy. While Annie was in surgery, Johanna and Clove were able to explain to me how all of this actually happened. Apparently, they had gotten suspicious of Annie giggling at the constant texts that I had sent her during lunch. When she fell backward, she caught her hand on the bar that was holding up the table and it snapped it. Annie's mom comes down the hall.

"You can go in," her mom says. I breeze down the hallway quickly and into Annie's room. She has a cast on her hand and goes up about four inches past her wrist. From the look in her eyes, I can tell that while she is definitely still on some pain meds, but she is no longer deliriously high on pain meds like she was when she told me that she loved me. She is sitting up on the pillows but she looks rather tired.

"Hey," Annie says with a smile.

"Hi there beautiful," I sit on the bed next to her and reach my hand over and gently stroke her hair.

"I probably look terrible," She says sadly.

"You don't."

We sit there in silence for a minute before I finally open my mouth to tell her.

"Johanna and Clove found out that we are dating," I say.

"I know," Annie says. "Sarah told me."

"What do you want to do?" I ask her.

She ponders on it for a minute before scooting over to one side of the bed.

"I want to cuddle," She says. While we both know that we are going to have to deal with this sooner rather than later, I am more than happy to oblige with Annie's request. She pulls up the thin hospital blanket so I can slide under them and next to her. Her body curves into the side of mine and she lays her head on my chest. Even though we have only known each other for a couple of months, it feels like I have known her forever. I am so tired of the day events that I feel myself begin to drift off.

"I love you Finnick O'Dair. Maybe I'm moving to fast but-" Annie says, her voice beginning to take on a sleepy tone.

"I love you too Annie," I say, cutting her off. I kiss her head gently, and within a few moments, I fall asleep.

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! The next set of chapters are going to be all of the chapter leading up to homecoming and homecoming. I am just realizing how long this story is getting, so I am not sure how much longer I am going to continue it. How are you all feeling about the length of this story?

Also, I am starting school on Monday, so the chapters are probably going to be coming less frequently. I am going to try to get one or two up each week, but I am not sure how that is going to work. Anyways, thank you to everyone who has read this story, it means so much.

Stay happy, healthy, and safe,

-Jewel.
