I do not own Suzanne Collin's The Hunger Games characters.
Wow. I can't believe that this is going to be the last chapter of this story. Almost a thousand people have read this story which is, it is really insane. Just FYI, this chapter is going to be SUPER short because I don't really know what to write about.
Chapter 26:
EPILOGUE
Annie's POV
In the weeks after homecoming, Clove moved in with her mother, Johanna and Marvel decided to stop beating around the bushes and became an actual couple, and Madge and Gale decided that they were better off just as friends. Finnick and I are still going strong, and Sarah and Collin have become unrelenting in their teasing us about our relationship.
As I walk out the door into the cool morning air, I smile. Finnick is waiting in the driveway to pick me up. I hop into the passenger of the seat of the car and lean over to give him a quick kiss before buckling my seat belt. He pulls out of the driveway and we begin driving down the street to school. I smile, happier than I have been ever in my life.
When we reach the school and hope out of the car, all of our friends are waiting for us. Cato's arm has healed now and Clove is clinging to it like her life depends on it. Ever since she moved out, the two have been nearly inseparable. I am pretty sure the only time that they are ever away from each other is when they are in class or when Johanna and I manage to pull her away for him. Finnick threads his fingers gently through mine and we walk towards everyone.
"Hello girl," Johanna says, pulling me away from Finnick. I give him a sad look before following her. She manages to pull Clove away from Cato, but just barely.
The boys following close behind us. Johanna, Clove, and I immediately fall into easy conversation about what happened over the weekend, even though we already know the majority of it from our almost non-stop texting.
We break off a few minutes later to go to our separate classes. I sit down next to Finnick in AP Psych, and I am so grateful that Professor Latier sat my hear on the first day of school. Now, I can't imagine what my life would be like if I didn't have Finnick by my side. he is the reason that I was able to step outside of my shy bubble and make friends. He is the reason for who I am today. And I love him for it.
I hope this was a good way to close off the story. Thank you so much to everyone who has read this far into my story.
Stay happy, healthy, and safe,
-Jewel
