In the virtual world of Alfheim online, two close players blazed through the sky at incredible of these players was a female green-clad Sylph type player named partner,sporting the signature black colors of the Spriggan race, was her brother-raised-cousin Kritio. As the two players soared across the open skies, they constantly kept glancing in all directions as if they were searching for something, they were in-fact searching for something indeed, something fun for them to do.

"See anything fun you want to do Kirito?"Leefa inquired facing her partner.

"No, all the quests that I can see from here look like ones we've recently done."He replied."Maybe we should try looking at more of the ground areas instead, we haven't done that in a while."

"Sounds good,but if we don't find something after this I might just log out for the day."Leafa , these two players were in this particular mind frame because their group of friends found a secret boss chamber a few days ago and to prepare to tackle the challenge, the whole gang went on a massive grinding spree taking every mission, side quest, and fetch quest they came result was sort of a mixed bag since it did help the party clear the dungeon, but it left the group feeling a bit bored of the basic variety of challenges Alfheim had to of her friends, Leefa looked back at her partner and asked,"Is anyone else still even logged on?"

Kirito thought for a moment and brought up his menu."No, it does look like it," he evenly replied,"Liz and Sinon left earlier this evening so they could catch a movie, Silica has somewhere she needs to be early tomorrow so she left even earlier,and it's the same deal with Klein. Asuana logged out a few minutes ago so she could catch up on some studying, Yui entered her nightly shut down so she can rest,and...it says Yukki was forced logged out a minute ago.I'm pretty sure she just fell asleep." A small smirk formed on his face as he stated his theory.

"Heh heh",Leefa giggled slightly thinking about it herself,"Yeah probably, but seriously I hope we find something different to do.I mean it's only 7:12 and I don't want to just watch anime re-runs all night"

"Yeah me either, alright let me think.." He was silent for a moment before exclaiming,"Oh! What about that swampy mining region over by the Undine's territory"

"You mean that newer place with all the weird vines and dark,weird clouds everywhere?"With the rise of new VRMMORPG's the amount of faithful players of ALO started to slightly that players would ditch ALO for a newer and more inventive game, the creators started adding in newer locations with unique gimmicks and special items and sword skills located inside some saw this as a ploy, the general opinion on these new locations is that they were great and added a sense of variety to Alfheim,that being said, opinions on the swamp mine zone was generally negative for a number of reasons.

First of all,this new area didn't match with the rest of Alfheim asctectly, being extremely dark and dreary, even in the the creators were using it as a test for better smell sense for the Amusphere, the VR system they were playing on,but a glight made the smell to strong, and the result was a rotten banana, cabbage and fungus these details usslay would not keep hardcore gamers away from a new challage, they tended to stay away from the swamp due to it's design being tedious and reptivie, coming from RPG players that said constant demon's breath smog didn't help matters much the majority of the area a dark purple and black smog like cloud constantly plaged the majority of the zone 24 hours of the day, besides making it extremely easy to get lost in, the smog drainded away at players health and weapon energy making getting anywhere near the cloud undesireable.

It's because of all these reasons that players generally despised this new area, especially the Undine' to even go as far as petion the area to be removed due to its proximity to their natural kingdom."Isn't that just an all around undesirable place to be around?"Leafa questioned skeptitly.

"Yeah,but if everyone hates thee place so much that means they didn't bother clearing any of the quest there meaning we should have a treasure trove of quest and missions to take on," Kiritio answered with a familiar look in his was the face he made whenever he got excited about VRMMORPG's,"C'mon it can't be worse than flying around aimlessly with nothing to do, right?"He added with a determined smirk on his face.

Leafa pondered for a moment, no doubt pondering her boredom to her possible discomfort from exploring the swamp she replied,"Hmmm…. Alright, let's give it a the way"

And with that, the duo plotted a course on their maps and blazed through the sun-setting most of their friends, a majority of the players already logged out for the day heading off to whatever plans the night had waiting for of the remaing players were hardcore gamerers completing their quesst for the day paying Kirtio and Leafa no mind as they finally reached their for the two, the expericance was off to a rocky start since the first thing they encouterd once they completed their landing was the infamous stench of the swamp.

"Okay,(Gah!) maybe you were right,(cough!) maybe this…(Hmph!) maybe this wasn't such a good idea" Kirtio finally admitted after catching a whiff of the swamps unnatural scent.

"(Cough!) I told you! (cough)"Leafa countered, barely able to stand upright due to her rapid gagging,"Maybe we should…."

"Hey you two!" a voice called out to duo looked over and saw a figure a few feet away,"Hang on sec okay?! I can help you guys out!."

As the figure grew nearer they could clearly see who they were talking to, the person running to them was a male,blue haired had average height somewhere between Leefa's and Kirtio's, his attire consisted of grey pants, a white and silver short-sleeve shirt with amount plating covering his than that his only notable features was a purple headband tied around his boy quickly ran over to them and held out his hand,"Filter Spell!"he yelled and several blue orbs of light flew towards Kirtio and Leefa, suddenly the horrible smell completely vanished leaving everyone able to breathe normally again.

"(Gasp!) Ohmygosh thank you!",Leafa nearly cried after taking in a big gulp of air.

"Yeah thanks,"Kirito responded after a moment,"(gasp) what did you use back there?"

"Wha? Oh that was just a common filter spell,",The calm Undine replied," it's original purpose is to allow for players to breath in toxic environments, and travel short distance's underwater, but at one point players found out it clears wicked smells aways,it's how anyone travels through this location normally."

"Neat, well thank again"Leefa replied.

"Oh it was not a problem at all I was just in the area and saw you two and figured you need some help." The Unndine's tone was laidback and friendly, as if he was speaking to a long time friend."Oh and don't worry the spell won't wear off until you leave this area so your not on any sort of time limit or anything like that"

"Well that's great….hey wait", Kirito started,"You were already in this area?"

"Yeah, I was coming to meet a bunch of my friends out here because there's this neat little quest we wanted to take but…",at this he stopped and looked at was so much he was looking at her directly but rather at her status."Um, hey so this is gonna come off as a dumb question, but by any chance are you a Sylph?"

"Um yeah,why?"Leafa questioned suspiciously.

"Sweet,um alright here's the deal",The Undine started,"My friend's and I wanted to take a quest out here, but a requirement of the quest is that you have an Undine, a Gnome, a Salamander, and a normally this wouldn't be an issue because both my younger and older brother are Sylphs, but both of them are completely unreliable and decided that they couldn't make it today,so screw them"He said jokingly,"anyway, I was coming out hear to deliver the bad news to my guild, but seeing as you are here…..would you mind filling in?"

"Oh,um, can I talk to my brother first? She asked pointing at Kirtio who was quietly observing the conversation.

"Sure,sure I will wait over here!" Undine said with a smile and stepped away to give the siblings some privacy.

"So what do you think?",Leefa asked Kirito

"Well he seems nice enough but are you sure you wanna go of with him, I mean I know you're bored but let's think for a second"

"I wasn't just gonna go run off with some stranger! I was asking if you felt like going along, that's the only way I'm going."

"Oh, well do you think I can come? I mean from the sounds of it, he only needs you, he didn't ask for me."

"Well that's the only way I'm going so if I ask would you come?"

"I …..guess so I mean it does beat being bored"

"Great! Now let me just see something….",Turning back to the Undine she yelled,"Hey! Is it okay if my brother comes along?!"

"That actually would be great!" He called back"This is supposed to be a longer quest and the more people we have completing it the better."

If you don't mind me asking…." Kirtio chimed in."What is the reward for the quest?"

At this the Undine's grin grew larger,"It's a large assortment of swamp gems and other items that only swamp areas give veins of these items were already discovered, but the quest bonus for these is huge! It'll save us weeks of grinding time on them.."

"Sounds interesting," Kirtio stated thoughtfully.

"Won't your brothers be upset you took the quest without them?" Leafa questioned,

"Yeah but that's what they get for being unreliable",the Undine said smiling now, does this mean you'll do it?"

The sibling pair looked at each other and nodded,"Will do it." they answered at the same time.

"Awesome thanks! This means a lot!" the Undine cried laughing now,"my player name is Furo by the way"

"Furo huh?" ,Kirito replied,"Alright well I'm Kirtio and this is Leafa."

"It's nice to meet you.", Leefa greeted.

"Thanks, you too,"Furo replied"Anyway we should get going if we want to get this done. Well,let's go!"

This story doesn't have any real weight to 's just a little adventure I cooked up In order to gain my barrings as a writer.I hope to one day write a story with actual stakes, but for now just a neat little adventure I thought would be cool.
