Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing okay? And staying safe out there? I know we have been feeling it here a lot in our home, so much so that my husband actually surprised us with a last minute get away to the countryside in a couple of weeks time, something that is definitely needed here. We have all been too occupied with school, and getting by and through each day that getting back to nature and being away from the constant draw of technology is just what this little family is needing right now. I hope you are all doing things to help you deal and process these crazy times.
You were all a little quiet after the last chapter? I hope you enjoyed it, although I know it was a little heavy. This one is a little 50/50 on topics, there's a little heaviness at the beginning but I think you're all going to like the last little bit. :)
"You sure you're okay with me going back today?" Kelly asked tucking his blue lieutenant shirt into his pants, the man checking himself over once more in the mirror he was watching her through. Stella was sat in the centre of their bed, her legs crossed in front of her as she flipped through her facebook timeline. The woman's eyes looking up at him as he spoke, their gazes locking through the reflection in the glass.
"I'll be fine Kelly. Your thirty days is up, it's time to go back." She assured him although her voice faltered slightly towards the end, the anxiety she'd been trying to squash about him going back slowly creeping up again as she gave him a once over. Seeing him in his uniform was making the whole situation more real, she knew this day was coming and over the last week they had, had many conversations about it. Both of them going back and forth over the decision for him not to take anymore time off. Stella telling him they needed to get back to normal at some point, and reassuring him that if at any point she didn't feel like she was coping she'd call him and let him know. But despite all of that, despite the fact they were still staying at Gabby and Matt's place and the fact that they had around the clock police protection it was still nerve racking to think that in a little over half an hour she'd be alone. For the next twenty four hours she would be left by herself while her friends were all at work.
"You sure?"
Stella nodded her head slightly while pushing herself up of the bed, "I've got my appointment at the hospital this afternoon and then I'm just planning on binge watching orange is the new black on Netflix, nothing to strenuous."
"And you're sure you are ready?"
"Yes Kelly" she sighed, flashing him a small smile one that he noticed hadn't quite met her eyes. "I promise I will call you if that changes but I'm good."
"Okay, I was just checking. Do you want to borrow the car?" He asked, slipping his arms around her waist and pulling her towards his chest. He knew that the Jeep was hers and was parked right outside along with everyone else's but he also knew she'd been avoiding driving it ever since the man at the door. Her confession soon after that incident causing her anxiety about being followed by someone to sky rocket, the woman opting to either take Kelly's vehicle or a uber when she needed to go anywhere.
"Do you mind?" she asked sheepishly, her bottom lip falling in between her teeth gently.
"Of course not."
"That would be great if I could, I was going to maybe pop to the store after my appointment, it would make it easier if I could drive." She began to ramble, his lips crashing with hers cutting her off.
"It's fine" he spoke against her lips the distance between the two never getting bigger than mere inches.
"Can you two get a room?" Gabby teased, the paramedics voice breaking through their moment together. A small blush coming to rest on Stella's face as she pulled back slightly.
"Technically we're in our room" Kelly joked rolling his eyes at her, all three of them chuckling softly. "Need something Dawson?"
"I was just coming to see if you were riding with us or driving yourself?"
"Ah with you please" Kelly nodded, releasing his arms from around Stella and grabbing his bag. "I'm lending my car to this one" he told her nodding his head towards her.
"Cool" Gabby responded, "well we're leaving in ten if you can tear yourself away from kissing."
Kelly picked up one of the throw cushions from the end of the bed gently throwing it at her retreating form.
"Child" she yelled over her shoulder lightly.
The man scoffing before turning his attention back to Stella. "Here" he said holding out the keys to his car, "try not to scratch it" he joked.
"Like I would ever do that" she teased her eyebrows raising.
"Let me know how the appointment goes won't you?" he asked pulling her back towards him.
"I will, I'm sure it'll be fine."
"Yeah me too" he told her placing a soft kiss to her forehead.
Stella kicked the door behind her closed as she entered the apartment, the woman juggling several bags as she made her way to the kitchen counter. She hadn't meant to buy as much as she had done but she figured it was the least she could do seen as her and Kelly had been crashing with their friends and eating their food. And she was sure that the Casey's would be happy to return to a full fridge in the morning as much as she was happy about having one today.
Once she had placed the bags down on the side she moved back towards the front door wanting to make sure she had locked it before setting to the task of putting everything away. A niggle of insecurity creeping up inside her as she listened to the silence of the empty apartment.
She had known that being alone was going to be an adjustment, especially with everything that had happened the past few weeks. She'd known that being here by herself could set off the anxiety that she has been battling to keep down over the time since she'd left the hospital and she just hoped she could continue to keep a hold on herself.
It had been something her and Kelly had spoke about at length, her best friend gently urging her to call the doctor on the card she had been given at her appointment two weeks ago but as of yet she'd still not managed to make the call. It wasn't so much that she didn't want to, because in a way she did, she wanted to deal with everything, to move past all that had happened to her but at the same time she was petrified of what opening up those wounds would do. What talking about all that had been done to her would result in.
She knew she needed to, her appointment at the hospital today only confirming that for her. But the fear of why and how and what ifs stopped her. She didn't want to discuss how she'd ended up in the positions she had. Or how she felt every time her husbands fist had come towards her. She wasn't sure she could express those feelings without completely breaking, her fragile frame of mind running rampant on how it was the furthest thing that was going to help her.
Checking the locks twice she tried to breath easier, a slow and unsteady breath releasing itself through her lips while her heart pounded in her chest. The air around her heavy and thick, the woman struggling to breath as she thought about how exposed and alone she was in this very moment. Sure there were police outside, but he'd got past them on two separate occasions. Grant or someone sent by him had managed to get to the back door before and they'd risked it with people inside the house. What was there to stop them now?
Ringing from the kitchen snapped her out of her thoughts. Stella rushing to the counter to retrieve her phone, trying her hardest to steady her breathing as she reached for the device.
"Hello" she muttered, her voice giving her away immediately.
"What's wrong?" Kelly said instantly the man hearing the clear nervousness to her tone.
"Nothing Kelly, I'm fine honest. I just.. I don't know what happened. I just got home and I felt a bit... I'm not even sure." She was rambling, her words not making much sense as they tumbled out of her mouth at an alarming pace.
"Do you need me to come home?" He asked, concern laced within his words.
Stella shook her head despite the fact he couldn't see her, "no, no, honestly I'm okay. I just, I think I might have had a panic attack. But I'm okay."
"You sure because I'll go tell chief right now? I'll come home? If me coming back to work was too much..."
"Kelly no" she said firmly, "I'm okay honestly. I've got to get used to being by myself. It's going to be a while before I'm back at work."
"Wait what?"
"I wasn't cleared" she mumbled, admitting what had happened earlier on today. "My left wrist isn't healing right, I've got to have more surgery on it and.." she cut herself off, hoping if she didn't say it out loud it wouldn't make it real.
"And what Stella? What happened?"
"Dr Johnson she's not sure if my wrist will ever be completely healed. She said the damage it may be irreparable."
"But at your last appointment.."
"I know, she isn't sure what happened. But it's not healing well. There's a chance.. there's a chance I may not be cleared for duty, ever."
The weight of her words hung in the air like that of a ton of bricks. The heavy implications they held not going unnoticed by either firefighter. This had been their worse fear all those weeks ago, the fear that what Grant had done to her could change her life forever. That the injuries she had endured that day could end her career, a career that she had dreamt of for so long.
"Stella", Kelly said after a few silent beats.
"I'm still here" she told him, forcing down the tears that were threatening to spill over.
"You said Dr Johnson said you need more surgery when's that going to be?"
"Soon, in the next week or so. It'll be a day thing, go in, in the morning come home later that day. It's to put a rod in to help better support the bone, and hopefully get it to repair in the right position. She's worried that if she can't get it to set properly I may be left with nerve damage and we both know if that happens my career is over."
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it babe." He reassured her gently, "Now tell me more about this panic attack? Did anything bring it on?"
"Not really, I finished at the hospital and went to the store, from there I came straight home but between juggling the bags and everything I could only kick the door closed. I'm not sure if it was because it made me feel a little exposed or what but the sensation came over me quickly and it was like I couldn't breath for a moment. I'm good now, you called at just the right time I think."
"I'm glad I could help" Kelly replied his soft voice relaxing her even more. Their conversation being cut off by the sounds of the bells ringing out behind him.
"Is that you?" she asked, hoping that squad wouldn't be called out.
"Yeah sorry duty calls. I'll ring you later, just try and relax we can talk more when I'm home okay?"
"Okay, stay safe out there."
"I will. Love you."
"I love you too" she told him their phones clicking as they disconnected.
The smoke around him was making it difficult to see, the squad lieutenant fumbling his way through the last few rooms before he could declare the scene completely clear.
"Severide" Boden's voice boomed through the radio, "Smoke's turning black get out of there now."
"Squad three everyone out" Kelly ordered.
"They're all out Severide, its just you left inside."
"Copy that chief I'm on my way.." he moved towards the top of the stairs heading towards the only clear exit left when it happened. The roof crumbling above him happening so fast that he barely had time to react as the whole hallway flashed over, his body being flung backwards against the wall with the force of it. His ears ringing as he forced himself on to his feet, fumbling with himself while trying to make his way back to the staircase.
"Severide" Boden's voice was on the radio again, the chief trying his hardest to keep the panic he was feeling from showing but he failed. "Severide report."
"I'm okay" Kelly coughed, the impact of his body hitting the wall knocking all the air out of his lungs. "My exit is blocked, the stairs they've completely collapsed."
"Can you get to the far left quadrant?" he asked after a few beats.
Kelly looked around the small space he was stood, seeing he could indeed get to where the chief had asked. "Yeah, making my way there now."
"Okay, we're bring the aerial up for you, you'll have to jump a little as we can't get right to the window. Hurry Severide we can't afford another blast happening with you inside."
"Copy chief I'm on my way."
His body was screaming at him to stop, to sit down and rest but he knew he couldn't, he knew he needed to get to the window if he was ever going to get out of this building, the building that had in fact been completely clear before any of them had entered to do a sweep. It took every ounce of energy for him to get there but he did it, his body a lot slower with the effects of being thrown through a building mere minutes before. He had an overwhelming feeling of pain in his lower back, the man pretty sure a bruise was already forming there but overall he'd managed to go unscathed his turnout gear doing it's job in protecting him from the flames licking at him from all around.
"Severide" Casey voice snapped his eyes back into focus, the man almost at the window as his friend stood at the top of the aerial ready to receive him. "You okay?"
"I'm good" he assured him, lifting his sore body up through the window and reaching out to grab his friends hand. The slight leap he had to take from the building only intensifying the amount of pain he was in. "I'm a bit beat up but I'm okay."
Casey gave him a quick once over before the two officers started to make their way down the ladder on onto the top of truck.
"There was no one in there" Kelly told chief the minute his two feet were back on the ground, "place was completely empty!"
"That's the third abandoned building this week alone." Chief Boden mused, the man rubbing his gloved hand across his mouth before ordering fifty one to open the hoses. "You sure you're good?"
"I am chief, I hit the wall pretty hard but nothing more than a few bruises thankfully."
"Okay, when we get back to the house I want a full write up from both of you. I don't think three abandoned buildings going up in flames in the same week is a coincidence."
Casey furrowed his eyebrow glancing between the two men and the building, "are you thinking arson?"
"Maybe, I don't know but something feels off."
"We'll get those reports done stat" Kelly assured his boss, both the truck and squad officers heading to help with containing the fire before they wrapped up the scene.
Kelly rolled out his aching limbs while he walked the short distance from the car to the apartment, the mans movements slightly slower still since the blast from earlier that shift. Matt and Gabby watching him carefully as he walked with a slight limp.
"You sure you didn't want to get checked out Kel?" Gabby asked unlocking the front door and pushing it open so her husband and friend could enter.
"I'm good, nothing a hot shower and some rest won't help." He assured her, "Plus I live with you so I'm in capable hands if anything pops up."
Gabby scoffed at his words, "yeah well just make sure you tell me if anything changes okay? I'm still not convinced you shouldn't have gone to med."
"Who should have gone to med?" Stella asked meeting the trio in the middle of the apartment, everyone's gaze snapping up towards the woman each of them shocked to see her up and about already.
"It's nothing, I'm fine" Kelly told her kissing her head gently.
She looked anything but convinced her gaze moving towards the other two bodies within the room, "Casey, Dawson? What happened?"
"Kelly got caught in a flash over but refused to go to med, but he's limping and I'm not convinced he's as okay as he says he is." Gabby told her, her eyes trailing up and down the mans body searching for any obvious signs of injury, but of course she found nothing his body mainly covered by his thick winter coat.
"Did you get burnt?" Stella asked her worry evident in her voice.
"No I'm good I promise, just a few bruises." He reassured her, pulling her body closer into his side. "I'm just going to shower and then grab a nap."
"Are you sure?"
"Stella I'm good" he told her moving towards the guest bathroom shredding his coat from his body as he went and hanging it up on the rack, Stella following his path before stopping outside of the door.
"Okay" she responded after a quick glance across his features, the woman looking for any sign that he was lying to her but she found none. "Go shower and I'll make you some breakfast, tell me all about your first shift back."
"Sounds good to me" he replied quickly placing a kiss to her lips.
They still weren't officially anything but when it was in the comfort of the apartment they hadn't shied away from showing each other affection, the two comfortable enough in front of their closest friends to experience their desire for each other without needing to hide. And although it was something they still hadn't talked about each day it became more and more apparent that they saw each other as more than just friends even if they weren't ready to admit it out loud.
Matt and Gabby shared a glance, the twos eyes flicking around their spotless apartment. "Err Stella, did you tidy up?" Gabby asked tentatively.
"Yeah, I thought I could make myself useful. And I did some shopping so let me make you all breakfast and then we can all catch up."
"You didn't have to do all this" Gabby told her moving across the apartment, "you should be resting. Talking of how did your appointment go?"
"Erm not great. Go shower, change. I'll explain over breakfast."
While the others showered Stella busied herself with preparing a feast of a breakfast, the woman pulling out all of the stops when it came to cooking. Before she knew it there was piles of waffles, pancakes, sausages, bacon, eggs and various other options spread across the top of the breakfast bar, she'd refilled the coffee pot and pour out jugs of various different juices.
"Wow" Kelly said slipping his arms around her from behind, the man placing a soft kiss to her neck. "Who are you feeding the entire firehouse?"
"Hey, I try to do something nice and you tease me... that's not very nice lieutenant" she teased dragging out the final word, a smile smirk coming to rest on her face when she felt his body tense behind her.
"And you call me a tease?" he asked spinning her round and placing a harsh kiss to her lips.
"Not my fault you can't control yourself around me" she shot back slipping out of his grasp just as he went to land another kiss.
Kelly pouted at her the man fining offence at her suggestive tone. "I can I just don't want to" he murmured with a sly grin.
If Stella was going to respond he would never know as their moment was interrupted by knocking on the front door. Matt and Gabby both coming out of their bedroom as the loud booms filled in through the apartment. "Anyone expecting anyone?" Casey asked looking between them all.
"No" they all replied individually.
"I'll get it" Kelly said moving towards the front door.
"Kelly no" Stella pleaded, "Let Matt please? Just in case..."
Kelly nodded in response the man returning to her side and wrapping his arm round her waist. All eyes were trained in on Casey as he moved towards the door that had just been knocked again. Kelly could feel how tense Stella had become next to him, her body virtually clenched together, her hands squeezed tightly into fists, the unexpected visitor sending her mind into a fearful spiral as they all held their breath waiting to see who was the other side of the door at this time in the morning.
"It's Brett" Matt told them looking through the peek hole and opening up the door "Brett hey everything okay?"
"Casey hey, I'm really sorry about just dropping by unannounced but I wanted to check in and see how Stella was doing?"
"Come in, come in" Matt told her pulling the door fully open, "we were just about to have some breakfast but I think they'll be plenty for you to join us. Stella has prepared something of a feast" he chuckled, indicating at the several dishes lined up in his kitchen.
Brett smiled softly at him, thanking him for the offer before making her way towards her friends.
"Hey girl" Stella smiled, her nerves dispersed slightly now that her eyes had seen visually conformation of Casey's words.
"Hey" Brett replied wrapping the taller woman up in a hug, "I texted a few times but you never responded." There wasn't any sign of accusing in her voice but Stella could see that she was a little hurt by the lack of contact she had, had with her friend.
"I'm sorry I've just been dealing with a few things and if I'm honest I didn't want too many people seeing me in the state I've been recently. It hasn't been pretty." Stella responded nervously, Kelly watching her carefully. He knew she had been having more bad moments than good over the past few weeks and he was hoping that Sylvie turning up out of the blue didn't make her second guess herself. She'd already moved away from him, the woman taking her seat at the table and starting to nibble on a bit of bacon, he knew they weren't officially anything yet but she had no worries showing him affection around Gabby or Matt and he had been hoping that maybe that easiness would bleed into their relationships with the rest of the firehouse family but if anything had been proved in the past few minutes it was that she wasn't anywhere near comfortable to allow anyone else in on their feelings for each other just yet.
"Shall we eat?" Kelly suggested, everyone sensing the tense feeling that had over taken the room and everyone was thankful for the distraction that eating would bring.
"So?" Gabby asked after a few moments of uncomfortable quiet, "what did Dr Johnson say yesterday?"
Kelly almost choked on his food as he heard her ask the question, he wasn't sure how Stella was feeling about everything that had happened the day before or if she was anywhere near ready to discuss it so openly.
"She erm, well she said my wrist isn't healing properly and I need to have some more surgery before we'll know more but she erm.. erm.. she.." Stella cut herself off, the woman looking helplessly at Kelly for some help.
"Dr Johnson isn't sure if it will be ever repaired enough for Kidd to return to work" He told them, a grimace falling across the faces of everyone sat at the table.
"What?" Brett exclaimed, the blonde finding her voice before anyone else had a chance.
"She isn't sure I'll ever be cleared for full duty." Stella confirmed sadly. "It is what it is, I don't want to dwell on it more until I know for sure, but I may never be able to be a firefighter again."
Everyone sat in stunned silence, the air around them thick as they thought over what they had just been told. The house was quiet without their only female firefighter, everyone missing the youngest member of their firehouse family. Kelly knew that whatever everyone here was feeling was only going to be amplified when they broke the news to everyone else. Sure everyone here were her closet friends and this was tough for them all, but he knew that feeling was going to run deep in all of their family. And as difficult as they were all finding it he could only think how she was feeling about the whole thing. He knew she was trying to play it off in front of them all, he'd heard how devastated she was when they'd spoken on the phone during shift, he couldn't imagine that she was as okay as she was trying to make out right now.
It had been her dream to be a firefighter since she was a kid, everyone knew that, he knew that more than most he knew just how much this job meant to her. How it wasn't a job to her, it was her life, it was what made her who she was and after everything she had lost recently he wasn't sure how she could be calm about the prospect of losing this as well. If he had to guess she was shutting herself off from feeling what she needed to, and if experience told him anything it was that this like everything else would blow up soon. She couldn't pretend it wasn't happening, everyone expecting her to have been cleared yesterday and returning to the station before long. Although they all expected her to take a little longer after everything she had been through, nobody, at least him, had ever expected that she may not be able to return at all. And hearing her say those words for a second time were no less gut wrenching than they had been the first time. The man feeling as if someone had taken all the air out of his system, his own emotions getting the better of him as he squeezed his eyes tightly closed trying desperately to not let anyone see how much this was affecting him.
"Kelly" she said, her loud voice snapping him out of his head, his eyes focusing back in on the people around him.
"Sorry did you say something?" He asked looking over at her, his watery eyes locking with hers, the concern and worry she held shining back at him.
"Casey was just asking what you thought about what the doctor said."
"Erm, I'm not sure.. sorry" he pushed his chair backwards, excusing himself as he darted to the bedroom. The door softly closing against the frame as his legs gave way underneath him, he had no idea why this was affecting him as much as it was. If Stella could sit out there and keep it together why couldn't he, why was he falling apart and darting from tables? He didn't get it, he didn't get why it felt like the air had been sucked out of his lungs. He was angry, not at her, not at the doctors, not even at Grant but at everything, he felt an overwhelming feeling of hatred towards everything and everyone involved in this entire mess. There was no one person he was angry at most and he didn't know how to expel it without it reaching the wrong person.
"Kelly" her sweet soft voice filled his ears, the man looking up from his crouched down position tears streaming down his face.
"I'm sorry.. I ... I don't even know what came over me. Just hearing you say that you might not ever be able to come back to a job you love so much, it just.. it made me so mad Stella. And I don't know what to do with that anger, how are you not mad? How are you staying so calm when this is happening to you?"
"Because at the minute it's a maybe, its a worse case.." she told him softly, her hand coming to rest on his knees as she crouched down in front of him, the two using each others bodies to steady the other one. "Look at me Kelly" she waited for his eyes to met hers, his eyes that let her see just how much pain he was in, "if this is the end of my career then its the end. I will always be a firefighter, and if I can't actively run into burning buildings anymore then I will be content to teach the newer generation. But for now I'm choosing to trust my doctors, they fixed me up pretty good before. I'm choosing hope over anger and despair and I need you to do the same for me. I know you're mad about everything I went through, everything I was put through, but if you keep allowing that anger to control you we will never be happy." She told him, her voice never getting louder than a whisper, she was trying to calm him down any way she could and she knew if she spoke any louder her voice would betray her, that he would see her own deep dark anger that lay just below the surface, the anger she was so desperately trying to keep a hold on.
"I so badly want us to be able to be happy, for you to be my man and me your girl. But we can only do that if we can get past all of this."
"I want that too" he whispered back, his eyes locking with hers once more, a genuine smile falling across both of their lips.
"I love you."
"I love you too" he told her, both of them connecting in a heated kiss, only pulling back when it became an absolute necessary measure. "Can I ask you something?"
"Of course"
"What are we?" he asked timidly.
"Pardon?" she asked, although she was pretty certain what he was asking she needed to be sure before she gave him an answer.
"What are we? This dance we are doing, what does it mean?" He clarified.
"I don't know" she told him bringing her lip in between her teeth, the woman's eyes averting as she thought over his question. She knew it was coming at some point, that before long they were going to actually have to discuss what they were doing together, the way they had been behaving with each other mixed with what they had originally stated only confusing the two of them. She had the same questions for him but was too scared to ask them, afraid of what his answer may be but it would seem he didn't have the same fear.
"It's just we act like a couple, for all intents and purposes I think of you as my girl, and I don't know.. I was kinda hoping that you felt the same way about me. That maybe this thing between us over the past few weeks has made us more than just friends. I mean we share a bed every night, you wear my clothes more than your own. Everything we do, we're practically a couple anyway. And I know you said you wanted to wait, that you didn't want to get into another relationship with Grant hanging over your head but I know everything or I'd like to think I do?" It wasn't a question as such but he waited a beat to see if she'd say anything in response to his statement. A short nod of her head confirmed for him that she had indeed told him everything, that there were no more secrets between them.
"I don't know if part of you was wanting to wait because you thought I'd feel differently after learning it all or if it was more to do with Grant, but I don't..." he cut himself off not wanting to pressure her into a deeper conversation. "Look I'm not saying we have to shout whatever we have going on here from the rooftops, as much as I'd love to tell everyone you're my girl, I understand if you're not ready for that but I need to know Stella. Is this going somewhere more? Because baby I really want it to."
A unsettling feeling rested in the air around them, neither one of them attempting to say anything for a few minutes. Kelly sighing deeply to himself as he pushed up on the balls of his feet so he was standing, the crouched position having lost him the feeling of his lower amenities temporarily but he immediately regretted his sudden change of position when Stella began to cry, the woman having misjudged his sudden movements as a rejection to her, as an end to a conversation they were no where near finishing.
"Hey look at me" he told her pulling her up to her feet. "I'm not going anywhere I'd just lost feeling in my legs, come here sit with me." He said moving them both towards the bed and pulling her down to sit next to him. "What's going on up there?"
"I.. " she began, her voice catching in her throat as she attempted to vocalise her thoughts to him. "I love you" she began again after a few beats, "I know that to be true, and I know you love me but I'm scared. I'm scared what me entering a relationship with you, with anyone says about me. I want to, more than anything I want to take that step with you and let everyone know that you're my man and that I love you. But if I do that after not being out of my marriage for long what are people going to think? What is it going to look like? I've spent the past year at least being accused of cheating on my husband with you and now I'm in a ... I don't even know what we are. I know what I want us to be, I know what we could be but I don't know if I can allow myself to be that to you. I don't know if I deserve you to be that to me." Her last few words came out at barely a whisper, her vulnerability slipping out as the words tumbled from her lips.
"I know that everything with us is confusing, the little touches, the kisses, the I love yous whispered in the dead of night. You're right in everything you're saying we do act like a couple, we have done every since I woke up in the hospital and from what I hear from Gabby you were pretty much in that frame of mind before I even woke up..." She sat watching him, hoping that she was making some resemblance of sense in everything she was saying, although she wasn't certain she had explained herself at all well enough. She wanted to be with him, she wanted to be his girlfriend, hell she wanted to be with him forever, but she couldn't tell him that not right now, she wasn't even divorced yet, they didn't even have any firm evidence that her husband was even alive at this point. All they had was suspicions and conjure.
"Say something?" she pleaded a few minutes into the complete silence that had surrounded them, the air becoming so thick she could barely breath, her chest baring a heavy weight while she waited for him to say anything in response to her rambling speech.
He didn't say a word, the feeling of his hand leaving her back causing her stomach to sink but that feeling was only there for a moment before it was replaced with confusion, desire and happiness, Kelly's lips crushing hers as his hand came round the back of her neck holding her to him. The two getting completely lost in each other as their movements told them more than words ever could, their bodies moving on instinct as they moved between the sheets, the world outside of their bedroom no longer mattering, Kelly's body on top of hers as his kisses moved down her towards her chest his hands gripping onto any part of her skin he could find, the man practically ripping the shirt, his shirt off her body his lips instantly finding her nipple as he worshipped every inch of her, their eyes locked both of them filled with want, before his kisses trailed down south, his hands moving faster than his mind as he fumbled with her shorts pushing them down and off her legs.
"You sure?" he asked waiting for a sign of conformation, which he got in the sense of a eager nod before burying his head in between her legs . A soft sigh leaving her lips as she lost herself in the feeling, her hands clenched tightly on to the bed sheets beside her as she tried her hardest not to make too much noise.
"Kelly" she moaned softly, her hips bucking off the bed when his speed increased, his mouth locked on her core bringing a fire to the region between her legs, his hand ghosted over the area gently, and she felt him grin smugly against her when her body shuddered under his touch, her release nearing. A small shriek of surprise left her lips when he inserted a finger, quickly adding another one, working her all the way up to the high she was chasing before he pulled away, his action taking with it her sweet pleasure.
Confusion fell across her face as they locked eyes once more, his usual sparkly blue ones holding a darkness she had never seen from him before. His intense stare held so much want and need for her it caused her body to tingle, his eyes never left hers as he slipped his finger back inside her, his body hoovering over hers as he worked her back up to and throughout her finish, her body clenched tightly around him as it hit her suddenly, her groans being swallowed by him when he covered her mouth with hers, the two locked in a battle of dominance, as her body filled with a fiery feeling, every inch of her inflamed in longing and desire. Kelly's rhythmic movements never slowing and never spending up as he made sure she was completely satisfied.
Once he was sure she was done he quickly shed his own clothes, the man leaving her body for mere seconds before he was back on top of her, reaching between the two of them and lining himself with her entrance, waiting for any sign that she wasn't ready for this, but he was met with no resistance as she wrapped her legs around his waist the action naturally bringing their bodies closer together as he slid easily into her. A soft satisfied groan leaving both of them while they got used to the new feeling, the feeling of being connected in the most imitate position possibly. Their movements were slow and steady, the two intent on enjoying their first time together, there was no neediness or passion filled movements, nothing about their actions were rushed, every thrust filled with love and desire, both of them expressing their feelings to each other through more than words.
"I love you" Kelly whispered thrusting as deep as he could into her, his eyes locked with hers at all times. Her hands roaming his back as she met each and every stroke with a thrust upwards from her hips, the two nearing their finish together. Stella got there first as Kelly did everything to make sure she thoroughly enjoyed herself before their moment came to an end. He felt the exact moment she came undone her body trembling underneath his as she lost all control over herself, Stella holding back a scream as her release rolled out her body in waves, Kelly's finish coming moments after hers had finished. The two collapsing down onto the bed together still entwined as they draw in much needed air. A content and happy feeling surrounding them.
"Was that you're way of asking me to be your girl?" Stella said unable to stop the girlish giggle that left her lips as she did.
"Well what would your answer be if it was?" He asked pulling back from her slightly so he could see her entire face.
"Hell yes" she told him kissing the proud grin off his face.
I really battled with writing the end of this chapter, I didn't want it to feel cheap or rushed. I also didn't want to make it feel like they had rushed the last step in becoming a couple. Even at posting this I'm still not 100% if I'm happy with it or not. But yay! Finally they are moving forward, Stella is having a few issues but in regards to Kelly she's taken that next step... will it be an easy road? You'll have to wait and see.
Review please :)
