Keima Gollen, or rather Keima Masuda was asleep in his room when a certain chaotic god snook in.

"Kufufufu. Wakey Wakey Keima-kun"

"Eh ah-" Keima woke up groggy but quickly noticed who was in his room. Leona, the goddess of chaos.

But to Keima's good fortune Core No. 695 Rokuko, Keima's partner. was just outside his door. Leona was aware of her but let her be.

"Keima, now now. You know that even if you resist you can't beat me" Leona smirked.

Keima could only pray that Leona wasbt planning vengeance.

"Well Keima, I actually got some good news. Your gonna be isekai'd!" Leona announced cheerfully.

"Wait, your not getting revenge from screwing up your plans in the Dade kingdom?" Keima was confused at this.

"Kufufufu. You should think of this as a reward for outsmarting me there. But in the end you actually helped me out. Albeit unknowingly" Leona chuckled.

"Well, enough talk. See you on the other side Keima-kun. And I hope you survive the trip" Leona said ominously.

"Hey, Wai-" Keima shouted before dissolving into light.

"Don't worry Keima. Your to interesting to die" Leona laughed to herself as she teleported out if the room.

Rokuko was helplessly watching the whole thing knowing she was powerless to stop it. But she had recorded the whole thing using a crystal recorder given to her by her Sister, Core No. 85 Haku. After recording the whole thing Rokuko sent the recording to Haku in hopes that she has a solution.

Keima who was disolved into light, or more accurately, transported had landed right into a village being ravaged by monsters.

Lucky me I guess. Keima thought privately, and looked around trying to get his bearings.

Just when he stood up, a pair skelotal soldiers saw him and charged.

Keima saw them and used his magic (elemental shot) to quickly kill them.

Alright so I got teleported right into a village, in the middle of a monster raid. Kiema shook his head at the thought he could at least be in a less hostile environment.

About then he saw a man in a green cape, bearing a shield and torch, being chased by monsters.

He saw the man climb up a watchtower and had himself surrounded by skeletons.

His plan was actually quite clever. Being surrounded didn't mean he was trapped. He burned the watchtower and jumped down, killing off the majority and scattering the rest.

Keima decided to meet up with the man. If he can help get rid of these monsters, the faster he can try and get back home and sleep.

As he approached the man he noticed that he was only carrying a shield with an emerald at its center.

"So, need any help" Keima asked walking up to the man.

"Who are you" The man demanded.

"Keima Gollen, you?" Keima shot back.

"Naofumi Iwatani. The shield hero" The man named Naofumi had responded. From his glare he was clearly expected some derision or some scathing remarks.

"Okay then. I got a few questions but I can ask later. Let's clear this up first" Keima had been flippant with his response but Naofumi wasn't one to miss out on an opportunity for help. Especially one that he could tell was genuine.

Although Naofumi couldn't tell whether he was strong or not, He saw him wearing a jersey and sweatpants that belonged to his world. He looked like he just got out of bed to but when Naofumi tried to see his level however, it only showed up as ?. The class was just [ ]. Strange considering everybody had an occupation.

Whoever he is. It's better to keep an eye on him. Naofumi thought to himself.

Just then a girl with raccoon like features had shown up. "Naofumi-sama, the villagers are all-eh, I thought I evacuated them all?" The girl looked confused for a brief moment.

"Don't worry Raphtalia. He said he will help us. Although do keep an eye on him alright" Naofumi had cleared up the girl called raphtalia's confusion.

"Alright, lets finish this up quickly" Keima said and the two nodded. Sighing he raised his hand and what Naofumi and Raphtalia saw was a burst of light shoot out, instantly killing a few skeletons.

"What... Was that" Naofumi, bewildered at what he just saw. It was clearly magic but there was no chant. Just a spell activating and going through a few skeletons.

"Was... That magic?" Raphtalia asked confused. She had seen magic before and knew that this was by no means normal.

"Hmm. Oh, yeah. That magic is unique to me so don't worry about trying to copy it"Keima responded.

"We weren't" Naofumi replied shaking off his confusion.

"Alright lets finish this" Keima responded and shot at the skeletons, killing them all.

"Alright that should be-" Keima was about to yawn when Naofumi quickly pushed Raphtalia and Keima behind him and raised his shield" a few fireballs flew through the air and was about to land right into them, and more broadly, the village.

Naofumi was lucky and quickly noticed to defend them all. The area was scorched but not burned to a crisp.

A platoon of knights walked in. The apparent captain smirked and looked at them. "So the shield hero is as hardy as they say" the captain said it as if a compliment. But from the tone it was more of a jeer.

"Were you the one who ordered them to destroy the village" Naofumi looked at them with scorn. He didn't hide it in his voice either.

"Only to clear out the monsters" the captain responded.

"And you didn't even check if there where people still in the village" Naofumi retorted.

"Nobody cares. Anyways, lets go find the actually useful heroes" the captain brushed off Naofumi's question and went to go off and find other 'hero's.'

"Before that get into formation. Your gonna need to fight" Naofumi ordered.

"Are you ordering us" The captain said, indignant.

About then an ogre 2 meters tall stood up and was about to crush the whole squad.

Raphtalia, who had kept herself calm to watch Keima charged and promptly cut the ogre down with a slash at its throat.

A few soldiers, perhaps realizing the gravity of the situation, quickly made a defensive line against the approaching tide of monsters.

"Tch, come on men, we're outta here" the captain and a few soldiers left at that, not even bothering to fight.

Keima was unconcerned. Walking past the soldiers he had garnered the attention of the soldiers and monsters.

"Hey wait, civillians can't fight monsters!" A concerned soldier called out but was shocked to see what happened.

Keima merely raised his arm when he got close and created an explosion killing the majority of monsters.

"What the..." The soldiers were confused.

To the soldiers, he just wiped out a group of monsters that would have likely killed a few soldiers.

Naofumi and Raphtalia just shook his head and considered Keima to be an enigma.

"All done. You guys clear the rest of them" Keima declared.

The soldiers all looked surprised but nodded. Naofumi and Raphtalia also nodded and went with them. The two groups cleared out the remaining monsters.

Keima on the other hand, sat down on a convenient rock and sighed.

Pretty soon all the monsters were cleared out and everyone returned to where Keima was.

"Alright done. And it looks like the wave is done as well" Naofumi said. Keima didn't miss the phrase he said.

"Alright. Hey can you guys call back the villagers" Keima asked.

The soldiers all looked at each other "the sooner we get them back the sooner we can rebuild. Right?" One soldier asked.

Naofumi only nodded in response. Never turning to face them.

The soldiers all saw him respond and left quickly with Raphtalia as there guide. The chills down there spine was a good indicator for leaving.

"So, I take it your not of this world" Naofumi started.

"That obvious, huh" Keima responded not even bothering to lie, or even try and deny it.

"Your magic was a pretty big hint. Anyways, I want you to tell me exactly what your doing here." Naofumi retorted.

The clothes were from his world but there was no such thing as magic there. Naofumi could guess that people from Japan were summoned elsewhere.

"I was thrown in here by force" Keima responded. "Pretty sure I was a guinea pig for a spell"

Although Naofumi was confidant Keima wasn't lying, he couldn't fully trust him.

"Fine then. I'll be taking you with me" Naofumi declared.

"Hmm. Why?" Keima asked.

"Besides the fact that you answered everything honestly, your still hiding something important" Naofumi replied curtly. That wasn't the only reason. To him, it was much better to keep an eye on Keima and use him for fighting potential.

"Alright. Well I should probably explain what I know about this world" Naofumi sighed.

He explained how he was the shield hero who was summoned from Japan. How he was betrayed by someone he trusted and was forced to buy a slave named Raphtalia. He then explained what the waves are. A phenomenon that threatens the world.

For whatever reason Naofumi thought that he could open up. Maybe Raphtalia was a positive influence.

"Then we got teleported here to fight the waves" Naofumi summed it up.

Alright then. This is gonna take a while Keima thought.

Just then a screen popped up for Keima. It was a request for a comm link from Rokuko. Keima immediatley pressed the accept button.

Keima signaled Naofumi to wait for his response.

"Keima, can you here me. Is this even working?" Rokuko's voice responded in his head.

"Ah, yeah" Keima sighed in relief. At least he wasn't completley cut off from his world.

"Well, actually the only reason this is working is because I helped" A familiar voice called out. The man named father.

"Otou-sama, as much as you would like to continue talking to Keima, the connection is currently unstable" Haku jumped in.

"Now, Now. Allow father to do as he please. If the connection is unstable we just need to reconnect" The demon king retorted.

"But who kno-" Haku began but was disconnected along with the demon king.

"Well, they're right so I guess I should explain what we should do, or rather, what we're doing" Father said. Keima could hear the smirk.

"Right now Haku and No. 6 are working to create a portal to the world your in by using you as a beacon." Father explained.

"So just sit and wait?" Keima sighed, somewhat expecting this.

"Don't worry Keima. I'm Currently building a link so you can communicate with us! It'll be finished later but what we're using is a prototype." Father replied cheerfully.

"So sit tight. Great..." Keima sighed.

"Oh, one more thing. Leona-kun is also in this world. She probably back tracked with that spell and used you as a medium" Father had left it at that as he disconnected from the comm link.

"Before I go Keima. Your not allowed to die! Alright?" Rokuko had left at that.

Naofumi who had left to go gather monster materials had returned. He was holding a new shield. A diamond shaped shield with twin snakes curling through the center.

"So I take it those were your friends?" Naofumi asked.

Keima didn't respond only nodded.

"Your hiding something aren't you" Naofumi saw the obviously pail keima.

"Nothing to be concerned about. Yet" Keima responded.

"Yet?" Naofumi asked.

"Really bad news but she won't interfere anytime soon. " Keima promised.

Naofumi thought it was strange, but didn't ask. He didn't need to as he could guess what he was told. Just bad news.

"So, since your gonna recruit me and I don't really have a lot of options, How about we form a contract" Keima had offered.

"A contract? What are the terms" Naofumi asked.

"There are 3 conditions:

1. Signing parties will travel as party members

2. Anything told in secret to the other parties must be kept secret unless told otherwise.

3. The contract will dissolve if both parties agree. Otherwise, this contract cannot be broken" As Keima laid out the terms of the contract, a notification for Naofumi appeared. 'Do you accept the terms of this contract? Yes/No' Naofumi immedialtlet pressed Yes.

As soon as Naofumi pressed it, a new notification popped up 'Acknowlodging foregn entity. Synchronizing Levels as compensation. Class set as Mage' and on the corner if his vision he saw Keima Gollen being added in as a party member. The ? over Keima's levels were changed to 21 and the class changed from [ ] to Mage.
