"Isabella 'Blades' Porchello. Was deployed to Iraq in 2001 but was returned home after... 'Complications'."

Barney listened as Bonaparte gave him the down low on the applicant they where there to see.

"She spent two years in incarceration for getting past CIA security and wiping any information that was held about her sister."

"Why she do that?"

"Her sister was a drug dealer and money launderer in Singapore."

"Was?"

Bonaparte sighed as the truck slowed down. "Mariella Porchello died in a hit and run last year."

They were parked in front of what seemed to be a college situated in the centre of a quiet neighbourhood. The building was small which meant it could only be a local college.

"So, what does she do now?"

"Since her sister's death, Isobella went back to her roots and is now completing her degree in computer coding and tech sciences."

As if on que, the entrance doors to the college opened and a young woman with dark brown hair and caramel skin hurried down the concrete steps.

"That's her." Bonaparte announced, which made Barney frown.

She was the complete opposite of what he had been hoping for. She was very small, looking to only be about 4ft 9" at a push and her dark hair fell in her face, covering her eyes.

Bonaparte climbed out of the car and called out to the girl, making her freeze. Barney followed his old friend as Bonaparte made his way over to the woman.

"Blades, I would like you to meet Barney Ross."

Blades said nothing as she reached out her hand to shake Barney's. Ross peered down at the girl's feet to see the curved metal of running blades poking out from her leggings. This must've been the "complication" that sent her home from Iraq.

"Grenade?" he asked, noticing her flinch at the word.

"Landmine."

Her voice was incredibly soft and quiet, matching her appearance quite well.

"I'm sorry, but, I feel like I'm wasting my time on this one. She's a broken girl."

Barney began walking away, making Bonaparte send Blades a sympathetic gaze before he began to follow the expandable.

"I'm not broken," Blades called out, making Barney stop and turn to look at her.

"I survived."
