A/N: First and foremost, my heartfelt thanks to everyone who reviewed on my very first story on this archive. It meant a lot and I felt very welcomed. :)
This has been inspired by the several Abhirika drabbles being written lately. I tried to write a happy one but I just couldn't. I have written this keeping them in mind. However, you can imagine anyone you like in their places. Please don't kill me for writing this.
*TRIGGER WARNING*
:: Dusk ::
A lone tear trickled down his cheek. He didn't bother wiping it. With eyes unfathomable, he just stood there at the crematorium futilely, filling his heart and soul with the image of the love of his life embarking on a solitary voyage across worlds. The words didn't come out. The cries of anguish breathed their last before they could even come into existence.
Fire. The all-consuming, ultimate destination of the mortal.
It seeks you. It wishes to devour you. Do you comply? It's always a choice.
With uneven breathing, eyes feral and insides aflame, he began walking towards the fire. He stood there at the threshold of the thin line separating sanity from insanity, watching his world as it crumbled from its core.
Loss. Can you feel it or is it the absence of any feeling?
Another loved one gone. Another attempt at tricking fate into giving him some happiness, failed. Fate had bested him yet again. Love had lost its very last chance at redemption in his life.
Akin to several instances earlier, time and circumstances called the shots and he complied.
Do review. :)
