Well with that last update we passed 2k views, yay. Now I know it might seem petty to be celebrating over a small number but I never expected to write more than a chapter before giving up. Considering we are eleven chapters in and 54 followers strong I count that as a win in my book. Now I've probably cursed it but whatever it makes me feel good inside. Anyway moving on.
Son of Whitebeard: I imagined Dadan would take command. While it's not shown in the anime she's the LEADER of a dangerous gang of thugs, so you would expect she could lead to earn her place. The only reason she never seemed to get control over S.A.L is because they were, not uncaring, but so willing to do whatever they wanted that they became uncontrollable. Lucy is almost the polar opposite to Luffy in many ways she is withdrawn, meek, and willing to follow others commands if she can just follow for the ride. Lucy is a follower and Dadan is a leader, so it panned out like that.
H3llion: Their powers have many similarities in that they are potentially very destructive. What separates them is the way they destroy things. Gildarts, from what I can tell, takes an object and shatters it by forcing it to dissipate into many tiny pieces all at once. Lucy's partition power would split the object into two pieces in a straight line. Gildarts power basically atomizes the object. Hers partitions it. Perhaps if she got fast enough with her hand chops she could cube an object like you would do with food. It could work, but I have a different path for it …for now.

Chapter 11 Start:
In the end she didn't get to sleep in, her sleep pattern was set for around four in the mourning. Groggy from having two nights in a row with five hours sleep, she stumbled out of bed, past one Portgas D Ace who was on his back snoring quietly, then went to freshen up and start her tasks. It wasn't until she was half way through polishing everyone's shoes in the small dry room, that an irritated Dadan fresh from slumber barged in the door and grumbled angrily ''I told you to sleep in brat! Are you deaf or have you 'partitioned' your brain in half!'' The look she must have given Dadan must have been one of surprised confusion because the woman smacked her face with her hand, then while rubbing her eyes in an irritated manor muttered ''You can't find the workers these days I swear. You know what, I don't care.'' With this declaration to an increasing confused Lucy the bandit leader turned to leave the small room but not before shouting over her shoulder ''After you've finished go meet me by the wood shed you deaf idiot!''
It was probably the most interesting start to her day since Shanks had, in his infinite wisdom, transported her bed while she slept to a random outcrop in the middle of the sea. Imagine being woken up as a massive wave crashes down on you and instead of waking up to the sight of your cozy small room, you look around and the only thing you can see is a seagull staring back and the endless blue expanse. Needless to say she didn't talk to him for days afterward.
For once the chore didn't seem as monotone, as they had all started to become after a week of repetition. It seemed that having a surprise at the end of the work made it pass so much quicker and it was only a little while later that she walked out of her small station to the wood barn at the back. Dadan, Magra and Dogra all were waiting lounging around talking in small, whispered tones that disappeared when she came into view over the small hill. Magra and Dogra straighten slightly once they noticed her gaze on them like they wanted to be seen as more professional. Dadan seemed to slouch more, cigarette blazing slowly in the background; however she seemed slightly tenser than she let on.
It wasn't until she stopped before the small cutting area where the three had gathered that Dadan snapped back to her usual self and in an almost snobbery tone said ''so what time do you call this brat? How long does it take you to polish thirty three pairs of shoes'' It was an almost snobbery tone because it was obviously a facade. There was no true heat behind her words.
Still she responded with a ''Sorry for the wait it''
Dadan only huffed, taking a moment to pause and take a drag from her cigarette before asking the question on Lucy's mind ''Do you know why we are out here brat?'' Her only response was a shake of the head.
Despite the silent answer Dadan carried on, almost aware of her mannerisms by now to know that she wouldn't respond verbally ''the kingdom of Goa has three main economic exports. These are its wood, its mineral deposits and its manufactured luxury wooden furnishings'' Lucy didn't follow what was going on, she knew about Dawn Islands main economic sectors. Considering she was stuck on it, it made the most sense to learn everything she could about her home island, what that had to do with her she didn't know. Dadan not knowing about her confusion kept talking ''Almost all of these resources or the necessary resources are found in the jungle interior of the island. This provides multiple problems for the country's economy, the infrastructure is bad, there are large predators that get in the way of work, disease and mosquitoes plague workers, the minerals are found in dangerous conditions, this normally would make the country's economy a mess. It wouldn't even be a viable strategy to have as a policy and the whole thing would collapse into itself. However one thing saves the Goa kingdoms economy from outright collapse, the insane demand abroad for its goods. You see brat, there are special types of wood here on this island that can only be found on a few islands around the world, and none of them come close to the levels that the Goa kingdom possesses. Due to its rarity, these special woods became a status symbol among the wealthy to possess, especially furniture pieces, considering the only place you can buy them is here. Naturally all wood and its products is sold at ridiculously high prices, combine that with minerals sales, a fishing industry, tourism and a small manufacturing base and it barely functions.''
While Lucy truly did love economic theory, even doing an A level on the subject in her previous life, it made no sense to bring up the failures of the nation's economy. How the hell did it involve her? She must have just have been staring at Dadan because the woman sighed and said ''you following along brat?''
''Kinda''
''Well I'm about to get to the point alright brat, I swear…Alright, because so much of the kingdoms economy realize on it… a lot of focus was put on the manufacturing sector. Since royals have a very picky taste in quality, the manufacturers put a lot of effort into the quality of their goods; some apprentices can spend decades before they are allowed to produce the goods unattended. Its serious business, the whole economy relies on it. There have been cases when it takes a wood smith years to produce something just right. A side effect is that wooden goods are ridiculously expensive, even the poorer quality ones…..And that's where you come in.''
At this comment she started to get an idea of where this was going. Still Dadan wasn't finished so she kept her thoughts quiet ''The power you've shown interested me, when you were talking to Dogra and Magra I was thinking. What if you utilized that power to replace all our old wooden utensils and bowls? They aren't cheap and I've been putting off replacing them. I'm sure you saw how old and chipped they were'' She had defiantly seen them; to say they were disgusting was an understatement. Some weren't even containers anymore, just broken shells that didn't hold water. There was one question on her mind though ''Dadan-sama why haven't you made your own? It can't be that hard.''
Said woman snapped back at that ''If it were that simple I would have done it already brat! The issue is not that. We are bandits, not carpenters, don't forget that! You need to understand that many of the bandits are here because they want to get away from the rest of society and be themselves. Some of them are here because they have nowhere else to go, they got rejected by society and came here to find a place to be. Now imagine if I turned around to these people who came here to be bandits with nothing else, and told them we're going to be wood carvers! They would hang me from the tree's brat!'' By the end of her rant the ginger haired woman was breathing heavily. While Lucy didn't quite get what was going on she kinda understood the point. The whole reason you would become a bandit is to be a bandit, so to turn around and tell your followers to be something else would inspire mutiny. Still it didn't make sense why she was going to become a carpenter in her place.
''Calm down boss!'' Magra who had till this point stayed in the background interrupted. Both he and Dogra were comforting the panting bandit leader. Dadan took a couple of seconds to control her breath, then with a nod at both of her subordinates turned back to Lucy. ''Brat, I won't beat around the bush. With your power you can cut objects perfectly. Not only that but due to the natural smoothness that your power leaves you can cut out most of the polishing and smoothing fazes. In a way it makes you almost perfect for the role. I believe that if you figured out how to utilize that into a fast process you could outstrip any manufacturers on this island. What takes the carpenters weeks and months to achieve you could do in days even hours…Do you get what I'm saying brat?''
By the end of her speech Dadan was smiling, all pearly whites towards Lucy. She did understand where the woman was coming from, but she never would have thought of it herself. If she was taught the basics of carpentry then her devil fruit would give her an insane advantage despite the fact she was a novice.
''You want me to mass produce wooden goods and undercut the market don't you Dadan-sama?''
At her reply the woman's smile became sharper, as she smiled around her cigarette ''of cause brat, finally, you get it. It won't be at the same level of the master carpenters, but that doesn't matter. As long as you can use your power the products will always be far greater than all but the best of the best. Even they don't matter because they produce for only the royalty…our target is the rest, the average citizen of Goa annoyed at stupidly high prices. The low prices will attract the lower end of the population, the quality and smoothness will attract the middle end of the population. In a moment we will have grabbed most of the market, combine that with my contacts and we will be making a killing.''
It made Lucy feel slightly better that she was being considered for more than a house keeper but she had one problem ''Dadan-sama there's one problem with that idea'' at her words the woman frowned slightly before sighing and saying ''what is it brat?''
Somewhere in the back of her mind she thought it might not be the best idea to annoy her guardian but there was no other way to beat around the bush ''I don't anything about wood carpentry''
Dadan paused for a second as if to understand what she had said, then it must have sunk in because her mouth opened slightly in a comedic way. Her cigarette dropping silently to the floor, then in a moment she must have gotten angry because her face was inches away from Lucy's as she bent down. A vein was popping along her temple. Lucy's first reaction was to back away from the angry woman but two eyes, cold as ice, gazed back at her watching her every movement. In that moment none of her limbs would respond so she was left to be pinned downed by the older woman's gaze.
''Do you mean to tell me that you were lying to me brat?'' Considering their faces were so close together, the acidic smell of cigarette smoke sent shivers down her body. It wasn't a feeling of an overwhelming predator that Shanks had been, but never the less it still screamed predator back at her. It was a feeling that the person before her wasn't someone you could lie too least they devour you for it. The only thing that tumbled out of her mouth was ''-I'' before her brain caught her mouth before it could utter anything else while trying to figure out what had even happened. Still the bandit leader caught on to her stutter because she in an ice cold voice said ''I what?''
Not knowing how this happened Lucy turned to look at the other two bandits to find some type of support no matter how unlikely. Both Dogra and Magra were silent, staring back at her seemingly intent to leave her to drown as they waited for her answer. Dadan seemed to notice that her attention was not on her because she growled ''I what brat?''
Noticing that know was not the time to be silent Lucy almost squeaked, her voice a higher octave than usual ''I didn't lie to you Dada- Dadan-sama, I only did so once when I was trying to hide my devil fruit'' By the end of her response the words were practically pouring like water out of her mouth in an effort to diffuse this random situation she had somehow found herself in. The words seemed to have an effect on Dadan as she paused for a second while she contemplated, then to Lucy's horror she doubled down in her beliefs by saying ''Don't give me that crap. Last night you said that you had predominately partitioned 'wood' which means you have done carpentry before. That means you're lying to me''
It took slightly longer than she was proud to admit to figure out where this had stemmed from. Dadan had taken her talking about portioning wood as to say that she had experience with wood carving. Now that she understood the whole thing Lucy could finally understand why Dadan had assumed that, despite it not making any sense since the woman knew she had portioned most of her logs. With confidence she didn't feel Lucy breached the subject ''I believe there's been a miss understanding Miss Dadan-sama'' At the woman's raised eye brow, a small sliver of hope emerged that allowed her to carry on ''When I said that I had partitioned wood, I meant I had used my power to chop down tree's. I haven't actually done carpentry only portioned the trunks of tree's to make them fall over''
That made the woman pause in her anger; slowly it dissipated into confusion as she tried to understand the misunderstanding. Then something seemed to take root in her mind, as Lucy saw the anger disappear in the woman's large eyes. This was further backed by her muttering ''so you weren't lying to me then?''
Eager to finally move on from this whole misunderstanding Lucy nodded back in confirmation before saying ''I know better than to lie to you Dadan-sama'' At those words the last of Dadans anger left and she straightened once. Lucy let out a large exhale that she didn't know she was holding at the sight. Everyone stared at Dadan in silence as the woman once again rubbed her forehead then niched the top of her nose. Both Dogra and Magra too released some tension from their frame as their boss calmed down.
''Well that puts some water on the fire. So much for my dreams of an easy fortune…unless'' Once again something was present in the woman's eyes as she opened them, instead of directing her attention at Lucy however she turned to Magra ''what's the day today?''
The chicken man paused at the unexpected question, then hand on chin in a thinking pose as he stroked his red goatee said ''I believe it's a Friday boss'' At his answer she nodded to herself while whispering ''it could work'' After the bandit leader had seemingly answered some great question In her head she turned unexpectedly back to Lucy. Instead of the anger present there was something else, like the woman was trying to work out all the details of some master plan in her head and she was evaluating her. Lucy couldn't help but stand slightly straighter expecting the worst, Dadan who didn't seem to notice the world around her snapped back to life.
''Brat new plan'' She said, into the silence. Lucy could only raise a questioning eye brow at the mention of 'new plan' what was she going to be doing now. First carpentry, now what? Dadan however seemed to have different plans ''We're still sticking to the idea proposed of you producing wooden manufactured goods by utilizing your devil fruit…however'' Her 'however' was said with more emphasis to stop Lucy from retorting as she was planning on doing. With no new challenges to her idea Dadan continued ''you will first replace all the wooden utensils and everything else wooden in the hideout. You have until Sunday evening to get this job done, during this time you have no other tasks. I'll have the boys bring everything that needs to be replaced. If you manage to get through it all, your next task is to produce as many objects as you can in that time. Oh, and I will inspect all your work'' At this as sadistic grin spread across her face ''If it's not up to standard, I will use all your failures as fire wood. If they're really bad I'll have Dogra burn them in front of you. You can also expect to go back to your daily routine. This time with fewer breaks, got it brat?''
Lucy felt the need to sigh at the whole thing, once again like with Garp she was being forced to do something she didn't want to do. She had no idea how to do what the woman asked and she had the distinct feeling that any attempt to refuse the offer would be met with resistance. Curly Dadan was nothing if not stubborn when she wanted to get something done. Still a large part of her brain was wishing that the woman could listen to reasoning so she tried to explain her plight ''But Dadan-sama, I still don't know how to be a carpenter.''
Dadan wasn't swayed in the slightest, instead she pocked one of her large meaty fingers in the middle of her head while saying ''you're supposed to be smart Brat… go figure it out!'' with that the bandit leader walked back to the hideout with both Magra and Dogra in tow.
Lucy quiet confused about what the hell was going on, could only stare at their backs as the small sliver of normality she had been enjoying for three months disappeared in one conversation.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII(1+1=2 2+2=4 4+4=8 8+8=why are you reading this?)IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Over the course of the day bandits had 'gifted' her a pile of things that needed to be replaced. Most of it was bowls and spoons, even chop sticks, stuff that needed to be used for eating but she got other items as well. A couple old chairs, a grand total of eight combs, some planks from the walls and floor that had been damaged in one fight or another. She even got the request of a wooden ship, from one of the bandits with children, to be used as a gift.
Naturally out of her comfort zone and not knowing what to do she stood around and stared at all the wooden things that had materialized out of the air. It wasn't until Dogra, who had been sent to help her get started, slapped her hard on the shoulder while trying to comfort her with a 'Don't worry about it. I'm sure you'll do fine' that it started to seep in that she might want to get moving.
Considering she knew nothing about how to go about making wooden goods she picked up one of the old spoons that seemed to be mostly intact if not for the large gash in the bowl. It took a couple seconds of study to realize that she had no idea where to start. But with Dogra in the back ground staring at her she realized it might be for the best to act like she had a clue on what she was doing. Still some of her desperate confusion must have been visible on her face because the dwarf sighed then said in his high pitch voice ''don't ask me brat I'm as clueless as you. However you should probably try making a test one to get an idea of what to do.''
With that the bandit went back to his bored post of watching over her, obviously wanting to be somewhere else. Still she took his idea to heart and grabbed one of the pieces of wood that had been piled up for this random experiment. The first problem she encountered was that her power only worked with straight lines, a spoons handle is cylindical. In the end she just decided to role with it and portioned the log in straight lines until she had a mock handle. It took her longer than she wanted to admit to get the easiest part of a spoon down, not only that but instead of being cylindrical it was square. Still with no other choice but to work with it she tried to figure out how to make the bowl of the spoon, the part that picks up the food. Once again she hit a wall on what to do, in the end she went with the strategy of taking of little flakes out of the wood by using small twitches of her finger to try and get the curvature. It took her 45 minutes to get the worst spoon she had ever seen, not only was it horrendously uneven but due to her lack of control there were small scratch marks where her power has etched in places she didn't want it to. The end product looked worse than some of the ones she was meant to replace. Despite knowing the answer she handed the atrocity to Dogra, who without even taking a close look at the spoon chucked it on the small fire in front of her.
He observed her for a second then said ''Again''
Her next four spoons where hardly any better, in fact on one of them she lost control of her power and partitioned the bowl from the handle. Every single time Dogra put them on the fire, and with a mutter of ''Again'' handed her another piece of wood from the pile. In the end she gave up with spoons and moved onto bowls. These were surprisingly easier than spoons because it didn't quiet have to be cylindrical; it was acceptable to have a square bowl because you weren't holding it. In around a minute she had carved a respectable square. Now she had a cube, but didn't know how to proceed with carving out the middle. That's when it came to her that as long as she knew the basic dimensions then her power would act on her desire. Basically her plan was to cut out the interior by making a smaller cube and then removing the smaller one. This would leave a cube shaped whole in the middle, that would make the 'bowl'. It sounded nonsensical which is what this whole thing was, but she managed to carefully cut out the smaller cube from the cube, then she ran into an issue. How to separate the smaller cube from the main bowl without cutting the bottom off. If she tried to partition the last side of the cube she would cut the bottom of her 'bowl' which would defeat the point. She spent a couple minutes just looking at the cube trying to figure out the next step to her master plan, Dogra just stared at her unimpressed from his place on one of the old chairs. The Dwarf had a bottle of rum and a local newspaper in hand as he periodically stared at her, she gave him a reassuring smile she didn't feel and turned back to her unwanted task. In the end she went with creating a diagonal triangle running from one corner to the other, unlike her other failure this idea worked and a rough right angle triangle worth of wood fell out when she turned the cube upside down. Emboldened with a success after a mired of failures she did the same to the other side. While it wasn't quiet to the perfection of her mental idea of it, the cube bowl was still her best attempt yet. She even felt some level of pride as she handed the object to Dogra who inspected it for a couple seconds, then he crushed her pride by putting it on the fire while saying ''We asked for bowls, not small storage containers.'' With his merciless critic done he handed her another piece of wood and said ''Again'' before turning back to his newspaper.
All she was thinking was what a peaceful life she could be living if she was back in Foosha being fed daily by Makino as she enjoyed the peaceful things in life.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII( 8+8=16 4+4=8 2+2=4 1+1= I have no idea why I'm doing this)IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
By the end of the first day of her unwanted job she had created perhaps ten usable spoons, even less bowls because she had to do the curve by hand. She had created hundreds of failures to get to this point. They weren't the best spoons she had ever seen but compared to what the bandits where using they were. Still as Dogra presented one of her creations to Dadan, the woman took all of five seconds to observe the spoon before she threw it in the fire. To add insult to injury the woman stated to her with all the bandits and Ace present ''I don't want my spoons to have square handles, Dogra any square spoons produced are to be thrown in the fire!''
At this point Lucy just wanted to go back and continue her old routine, this was a farce that had gotten old quickly. It was heart breaking in a way to watch as all her ten spoons that she had spent the better part of the day making were thrown into the fire.
The next day she woke up at four as she usually did, then realized what waited her. Another day of endless failures as she watched them all go up in smoke. Still as she stared at the ceiling she had nothing else to do today, and she couldn't get back to sleep.
Around seven thirty Dogra joined her, by this point she had amassed a small pile of spoons and bowls. On the pile was the ten or so wooden boards that needed to be replaced, unsurprisingly they were the easiest thing she had done being a bunch of rectangles. The bandit sorted through her pile without talking to her as she worked on the next spoon. Out of the pile he pulled the spoons which had handles to square for his liking or the ones he disliked and threw them on the small fire pit. It didn't take his experienced hands more than a minute to get a small fire going and half her work went up in flames. The only things that really stayed were the boards and one bowl. With his fire done Dogra pulled out a small knife and started picking dirt of his finger nails, then he seemed to just stare at her in silence.
Once again the slow grind of carving curved objects with a power that cut in straight lines ensued.
Around eleven she ran out of wood, considering Dogra was burning most of their supply it was inevitable that it would run out. Not like it could Grow on trees or anything. At this point Dogra finally looked up from his little wood carving that he'd been doing between putting her rejects in the fire. A staring match ensues as she just stared at the dwarf unsure of what to do know, he stared back. Something must have made him realize that she wasn't going to talk because he took intuitive ''aren't you going to get some more?'' For asking such a stupid question he only received a raised eyebrow. There was no more wood, that was the point. Unlike her he responded with words ''you said you have chopped tree's down with your power before. So go chop one down and use that wood.''
She actually had some words to answer that ''you want me to chop down a tree? Then move it in its entirety over here to make spoons out of? What if I hit the house?'' The bandit only snorted, then while he carried on his carving muttered ''I'm only here to assess your progress and burn any that don't fit the bosses criteria. If you need wood then you're on your own that not what I was told to do.'' Then he pointed over his shoulder with the small blade he had been using for his carvings and said ''Use the tree's over there, because if you hit the hideout the Boss will make your death as horrendous as possible. Don't think your grandfather can save you kid''
Chopping down trees had become something she had gotten very good at unintentionally considering she managed to fell so many of them. As such the smallish sized tree she partitioned wasn't much of a challenge; the real issue was transporting the wood. She wasn't some amazingly strong person who could shatter mountains with their fists, heck she wasn't even as strong as Zoro when he was a child. Considering moving the tree whole would be an almost impossibility she went for the only option available, to partition it into chunks that she could carry but were large enough that she could use them later. Even with the entire tree portioned into movable chunks, it still took her hours to move the tree to her work area. Considering it was mid-day in the middle of a jungle, with high precipitation and few water breaks she was exhausted. Dogra seemed to understand this because he gave her a thirty minute lunch break, a reasonable meal of leftover meat and vegetables from yesterday and a cantina full of water.
It was during this period of down time that she took the time to lie on her back and assessed her creations. Unlike their square predecessors her newer creations were much more rounded and fully formed. No longer were they being put into the fire for being too square much to her pleasure. The tradeoff was that it took her three times longer to cut them because she was basically making lots of small cuts to create a rough cylindrical shape. Still considering they actually stayed around instead of being used as unnecessary fire wood made them a win in her book. Now the only issue was the bowl which she still struggled to get a usable finish as the surface was full of small cuts and crevices where she had been uneven. It was probably the greatest reason that they were thrown on the fire.
She sat there for however long, spoon in hand as she circled the circumference of the handle with her finger lost in thought. That's when an idea, a weird crazy idea from who knows where popped into her head. What if instead of using small flicks to create straight lines, she activated her power while moving her finger in a circulatory manor. Would it follow her finger?
Dogra almost fell off his chair in surprise when she suddenly jerked up right. Luckily for him he managed to catch his balance, but she didn't focus on him. All that mattered was the new piece of wood in her hands. Without much fanfare she put her finger on the bark and activated her power while drawing a circle with her finger. At first nothing happened as the bark remained unchanged, she was close to giving up hope when she accidently tilted the piece of wood downwards and a cylindrical section fell out. It hit the ground with a small thump as both occupants of the small clearing stared at the new revelation.
Lucy didn't really think when she bent down to pick up the cylinder of wood, she didn't care for its smoothness or the intricate patterns formed. For once something went her way, for once the world actually cared to give her an inch instead of taking a mile. And that meant everything to her.
Dogra received the new addition to her collection with more attention than he had given her for most of the day as he rolled it over in his hand. The bandit got out of his chair, she imagined to go and tell Dadan of this new revelation.
He put her carved cylinder in the fire.
''What?'' Considering she had spent the best part of a day and a half to get to this point she was naturally confused and annoyed at having her greatest creation burnt. Her greatest discovery. The smallest bandit turned back to her and with a shoulder shrug said ''I was told to burn anything that didn't meet the bosses requirements. A cylinder of wood wasn't in the list of objects that I was told to keep.''
For the first time in a long time Lucy wanted to strangle something and deal with the consequences later. She didn't want to be in this stupid bandit hut, working her ass off for a matron who didn't even care about her and used her for cheap labor. She hadn't had a full belly since she got here; she was forced to work in stupidly hot conditions with little to no water, her fucking sleep pattern was nonexistent. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF SHE DIDN'T WANT TO BE USED AS A SICK JOKE OF A CARPERNTURE! WITH THE INTENTION TO BE UTILISED AND EXPLOITED FOR PROFIT! Now she normally would have not cared about any of this, because she really didn't care about being part of this world. She had her own one, that had people she really cared about in it. The only reason she even entertained this was because she made a stupid promise to Shanks and she was stuck here. But even those were washed away in her anger, all people had lines in the sand that shouldn't be crossed. Lucy had just crossed it.
Right now she didn't care about this stupid hut, about the stupid story, about the stupid bandits and Ace and anyone! She wanted to go back to Foosha village and spend the rest of her days in this hell hole the Gods had sent her living a peaceful life of mediocracy.
With that in mind she turned on her heal towards the south east and started walking towards her true home leaving a dumbfounded Dogra to stare at her walk out of view.
Even the gentlest of giants has a breaking point, Lucy despite being unnaturally apathetic in personality is no different. Dadan in forcing more and more things on Lucy in terms of manual labor slowly started to break the camel's back. I mean if you put more and more work on a person in a group, while giving them no rewards or even acknowledging their presence while you enjoy the benefits of their work…Their going to snap. Dadan was shown in her interaction with Luffy that she didn't care about him, that she was willing to underfeed him and use him for her own personal gains. Naturally Luffy being a hard headed stubborn idiot just ignored her, Lucy doesn't have that advantage. That being said I don't think Dadan isn't without redeeming qualities that will be explored in her relationship with Lucy later on. Till next time. Bye Bye
