It was dark out, the cool Parisian air had an icy breeze blowing through occasionally.

"At least there's no rain tonight," Ladybug commented quietly to herself, gently scuffing the rooftop with her foot.

"Good evening Bugaboo," Chat Noir had his old cheeky, flirtatious grin on his face as he landed and leaned in close to his polka dotted partner. "Hopefully nothing is going on tonight, today took it out of me."

"Tough day at the office?" Ladybug enquired with a teasing lilt, "lets just sit, we can keep an eye out from here."

The pair sat down, dangling their legs over the side of the chimney. Looking over Paris any time of year was rather romantic, the soft glow from the streets below, the Eiffel Tower in the distance and the sound of music coming from the cafe down the road. It would be the perfect setting for a date.

"How have you been Chat? Feels like we haven't spoken much recently."

Chat Noir was surprised by her question and even more surprised by the comment after. He could not see her face, she was looking out over Paris keeping an eye over any occurrences happening below.

"We talk all the time-"

"Not like we used to," she had sadness in her voice and looked at him, "we're seeing each other everyday. This past year though, you haven't been the same with me-" she looked at her knees swinging her feet nervously "-I didn't realise until today, you called me M'Lady." Ladybug looked at Chat Noir again. "You haven't done that for ages..." she trailed off in thought, Chat noticed the way her eyes glistened in the lowlights from below.

'What? I didn't realise I had changed that much.' Chat pondered internally, as he focused on the gentle movements of his lower legs. Chat Noir looked at Ladybug, her body language was apprehensive, hunched over, this was different.

"Ladybug, I'm sorry." He looked at his knees, noticing in his peripherals that their hands were mere millimetres from each other's. "Things have changed for me this past year, I lost myself for a while."

'Kagami, but I can't tell you about her. I can't tell you that we broke up because she couldn't face me with my friends. I tried to focus on her and distance myself from you, you are the person I wanted so I must have done it to try and put my all in her.'

"What?" Ladybug looked and Chat Noir in surprise.

'My thoughts are escaping me again.' Chat panicked before asking: "What did you hear?" He winced, dreading the reply.

"I just heard, 'put my all in her'." She replied bleakly.

'Should I tell her? Can I tell her?' Chat held Ladybug's gaze while debating if he should divulged personal information. "Ladybug, you know how I was always-"

"I don't know if should hear this." She cut across him wincing as she spoke. She was worried about him revealing his identity to her, knowingly or unknowingly.

"I think this-this is important." He took her hands and they faced each other. Ladybug was still looking down not wanting to show him the despair on her face. The despair she was feeling because she hadn't noticed before, that her dearest friend, with whom she shared this life with, had changed so much.

'I guess I had been distracted...Luka.'
