The air was cool as it hit the sweat accumulated on Brianna's brow as she pulled the bar door open. They may be in Colorado, but the summer plus moving can take a toll on anyone. She needed a break from their new apartment and her boyfriend Conner who had already left to meet up with his buddies. She had uprooted her life to move to a completely new state for him and he left her on their first night. All her friends, her family, her job was back home in North Carolina. She had found a new job easy enough, but nothing could replace the missing pieces that were in her heart right now. Her boyfriend worked for a tech company and was offered a much better position at the headquarters here in Boulder. So of course, they had to move right? 5 years in a relationship doesn't mean much if you're not willing to go all in for your loved one's career. Luckily, she had been working at her last firm since she got out of college, and they had a branch here in town and they had an opening. Brianna had gotten bored unpacking and wanted to see what her new drive was going to be. Forty-five minutes later she had driven to her new office and even found a bar just around the corner. She needed a stiff one.
It wasn't a dive bar perse but it also wasn't a bar that served expensive cocktails and she was perfectly fine with that. It was like that good corner bar that everyone went to after a long day to unwind. Since it was early on a Saturday, she figured she could check out their food selection also before it got too crowded. Worn barstools and chapped booths greeted her as a scruffy patron looked to see who walked in. He tipped his beer towards her in greeting before looking back at the tv set in front of him. "Your good to sit where ever you want. I can take care of you till our waitress gets in." The cheerful looking bartender yelled across the bar as she surveyed her options. She had waitressed through her college years and knew single patrons taking a booth was shitty practice. The stool nearest too her seemed to be the best out of the bunch as she plopped down. A very beautiful bartender popped up in front of her giving her a bit of a fright.
"oh! I'm sorry if I scared you. I can move pretty quietly. What can I get for you sweetheart?" Her voice was like a flute and her smile lit up the dim bar. Very obvious why she was a bartender. "How about something simple. A vodka sprite?" As they spoke a dark shadow of a man was coming out of the backroom behind the bartender and simply snuck past without a word. "I can do that for you. I'm Pamela by the way if you need anything." "Thanks Pamela." Brianna noticed the ash tray not far from her. Oh, thank you god. The idea of having to step outside as the days grew colder already sent a shiver down her spine. Brianna didn't notice her drink being placed in front of her as she dug around her purse for a pack and light. Tapping out a stick she slipped it into her mouth before looking up. In front of her stood an extra-large, extra firm, extra sexy looking man. His black tee stretched firm over every single muscle in his body. Shaggy black hair framing the deep-set brown eyes, strong jaw line and very very kissable lips. Almost instinctively Brianna inhaled a deep breath taking in the deep wood and cinnamon smells that wafted off of him. A feeling of deep desire and heat spread through her body. Something in the back of her head started talking some sense into her as she shook her head. Nope...nope...nope...you have a boyfriend... nope...With a quick drop of her eyes she noticed the drink in front of her was brown not white. "i..." she had to clear her throat because it had suddenly become very dry. "I didn't order this." "I know." A deep baritone voice hit her ears almost sending a shiver down her spine. "Then why..." She croaked again still very parched. "Just give it a try...it's a really good scotch. I think you're going to like it. If you don't...ill pay for all your drinks tonight."
Brianna felt her eyes light up at the challenge. One of two things was about to happen. She was about to really enjoy a new drink or she was going to need a cab because she would certainly make him pay. Cool to the touch she watched the ice slowly melting in her rocks glass as she tried to keep her eyes from his. No matter what she did Brianna could feel the intensity on which he watched her drilling deep into her face as she lifted the brown liquid up to her lips. Her tongue dance quickly across her bottom lip before placing the glass upon it. She tried to convince herself it was because her lips were dry, but she knew that she was egging him on. She felt him lean in just a hare's breath closer as she took a sip. The scotch had a very heavy peat to it but was balanced by a smooth sweetness that she just couldn't place. The flavor danced on her tongue as she savored it slowly and let out a happy moan. Nothing had ever prepared her for the feeling of a "good scotch". "I guess I'm paying for my own drinks tonight." She gave him a toothy grin which he quickly returned. "I mean we could always work something out." He said waggling his eyebrows playfully. She knew his type. Flirty bartender had been a few bookmarks in her life, but she knew better now. "Sorry hun. I'm taken." His brow tightened as he let out what she thought sounded almost like a growl, but he quickly recovered and but a half smile back on his face. "Well of course you are. A pretty thing like you. Well holler if you need anything. Names Spence." Brianna was almost sad as she watched him walk away, but she quickly pushed the feeling aside as she took another sip of her new drink. After a few smokes and some light banter with Pam she realized the bar was filling up quickly. She could tell Spence had been watching her this whole time but now it was busy enough for her to slip away quietly. Leaving a generous tip, she was out the door into the light of the waning moon.
"Babe! I'm home!" The apartment was filled with the quiet echo of her own voice. He must still be out with the guys. After a quick shower Brianna unpacked a few more boxes before slipping into bed. She shot Conner a quick good night text before slipping into a restless sleep. Her dreams were heavy and filled with the feeling of someone or something chasing her. All she could remember when she awoke in a heavy pant next to a sleeping Conner was fur.
Spence could smell her the moment she walked in the bar. There was a new she-wolf in town. Lawrence hadn't told them anything about there being a new she-wolf. He wondered if she was from the other pack. His bar bordered on their territory line if only so he could keep an eye out. His pack used to be one before the split over 75 years ago. Some of the pack still contained relatives of his but honestly, they had all written each other off years ago. It had been a bloody war between two brothers that only ended when their father split the land in two. Giving everyone the chance to follow the eldest brother into a new pack. By law he should have been given the alpha slot in their pack, but after watching the darkness grown inside his soul the father could never leave the pack in his hands. Lawrence told him the other alpha had chosen a new third after he had killed the last one, but they did not know much more.
Spence watched from the back office as Pam greeted the new comer but knew he needed to meet the female. Something was stirring inside him. He heard her order loud and clear but wanted to see how she would take to a change. "I'm going to take care of her Pam." He spoke to his bartender quietly. She nodded and went back to what she was doing before the female entered, which he could have care less about. Strawberry blonde hair covered most of her face as she dug into her purse for something. As Spence placed her drink on the bar top his breath stopped, watching the thin cigarette drape carefully from her luscious pink lips. He felt sluggish as her deep blue eyes followed up his torso and studied his face. Just as she breathed him in, he was hit over the head by the mixture of honey and strawberry with a dusting of tobacco and... lust.
If Spence at not already been braced against the bar he would have buckled. Her cheeks flushed as she looked away from him quickly probably sensing his own arousal. The very painful arousal pressing into his jeans. No female had every draw such a response from him while still clothed. Those dangerous lips parted as he wondered what she tasted like. Spence could tell he she was having similar problems as the first few words from her mouth were strained and heavy. He barely heard her question as the blood pumped in his ears, but by the quizzical look on her face he could assume what it was. Bantering with her quickly Spence laid on the charm as heavy as he could just trying to keep the visions of pinning her beneath him at bay. He watched her eyes alight playfully accepting his challenge and just hoping to be able to taste that scotch himself; directly from her mouth. He was going in for the kill as the words slipped from those pouty pink lips. "boyfriend" His wolf snarled begging to be let out so he could tear the throat from the one who dared to touch her "MINE!".
Quickly getting himself into check Spence stepped back from the situation. She must be the new thirds female. He wasn't about to start a war over a female. His wolf on the other hand was having none of his decision. If he could have, he would have been pacing along the bar just waiting to strike at anything that moved. The female was taken. He could tell she felt him watching her and Spence knew she liked it. Each drag on her cigarettes pained him as he wanted to pull her into the back room and put that mouth to good use. Surely, she knew sneaking out was not an option for a wolf. He could follow her scent anywhere, but he let her go. Go back home to her boyfriend, and her happy life. MINE! His wolf snapped again before giving him the urge to howl. The idea someone else's hands where his hands should be was gnawing at him.
A packed bar made it easy to push away any unwanted memories and Spence knew exactly how to work it. He flirted up each female patron trying to get back the feelings that were stolen by the she-wolf, but unlike any other night it was halfhearted. Sure, the human females would throw themselves at his feet if he asked. Pleasured him till the sun rose, but his mind was filled with the scent of strawberry's. Lawrence had come in with his mate Mavis and a few others from the pack at about Midnight. They took the large booth in the back that was always reserved and Pam shooed him away. She could handle the bar from here since Elizabeth had the floor.
"Alpha." Spence nodded his head in reverence before swinging a chair to the end of the table. He needed to be able to hop up at a moment's notice. "I met the new she-wolf from the other pack tonight." Lawrence's ears perked up at this new information. "A she-wolf? The third has a mate?" Spence shook his head. "She wasn't mated...I'm not even sure he's his. There is wolf scent all over her, but I could not tell you who's" "From what I heard only one new wolf has entered the pack. I never heard of a she-wolf. Interesting she's not mated. You would think to mate your female before bringing her into a new town." Spence shrugged his shoulders and took a long drink from the same scotch he had been pouring the female. It was from his own personal stash. They talked pack business for a bit before Elizabeth swept over with a round of shots and refills. "Anything else Alpha?" Lawrence waved her off as she winked towards Spence. Elizabeth was a newer hire but he had known her for years as she was born to the pack. Always had eyes for Spence but he never really saw her as more than a pup. There wasn't even that much of an age difference between them, but he had been groomed young as the Beta so he grew up fast.
Spence flopped on his bed the smells and sights of the she-wolf still running through his head. By this point his erection was pulsating at the thought of her. A firm palm found its way around his shaft tugging roughly as he pictured her hair splayed on his bed. Her lips moaning his name. Taking her from behind as she rode his cock hard and fast. Sweat pooled along his brow as release came. Not the release he wanted but the one he desperately needed as sleep took him fast.
