Marinette grabbed the box containing the Miraculous' and took out the one they knew was destined for Alix.
"That went surprisingly well don't you think!" Adrien commented on the encounter they had just had with her parents. Looking slightly more relaxed now after they had broke the ice with them.
"We might have to do it all over again Kitty, so don't become too happy about it." Marinette replied to him while changing her clothes in the bathroom. "Your phone has been surprisingly quiet considering you're missing," she commented coming out of the bathroom.
"Guys, there's a lot of chit chat considering there's the imminent issue at hand." Tikki reminded them.
"You're right Tikki." Marinette replied.
'Shit, I should have charged my phone earlier.' Adrien chastised himself while fumbling with the device. Adrien turned his phone on to multiple missed calls, text messages, and voicemails. Nathalie, Nino, his father-Kagami. The ones from Kagami stood out in particular, this had him worried.
Kagami: Hey, hope you're ok, I miss you.
Kagami: Hey, how was the photo shoot this afternoon? Really wish you would text me, can we talk?
Kagami: Let me know when I can drop your stuff off, I'd bring it to fencing practise but I would rather not do in front of everyone, hope you understand. Call me if you want to chat.
Kagami: Adrien it's Kagami, I really think you're being stupid now, please just text me back.
Kagami: Adrien I'm not going to wait around forever for you, I will always love you but I deserve better.
Kagami: Just heard from Chloè that Luka and that friend of yours have split up, convenient really isn't it.
Kagami: I'm happy for you really, but she will never love you like I did.
Kagami: How dare you break up with me for her! My love was pure! Don't come crying to me when you realise you've missed the best person you could have to love you.
Kagami: I'm sorry, my love, I'm so mad at the situation. I know you just need time to realise that you love me.
Kagami: Ha! That friend of yours has something going on with Chat Noir, unlucky.
Kagami: Oh my gosh Adrien where are you? I'm so worried about you, I didn't mean what I said just let me know you're ok. Your dad has phoned to see if you're here. I hope you're safe and I didn't do this, I'm sorry, please let me know you're safe. I love you.
Then he seen the last text message which was the most worrying of all.
Kagami: Do you think I'm stupid? Did you think I would never work it out? Chat Noir has paid a visit to that girl of yours, and you've disappeared the morning after! Please, you're pathetic. How long have you been meeting up behind my back you piece of crap! You have embarrassed me for the last time.
"Marinette, we have a problem."
"Yes we do," she replied showing him a message she had received from Alya.
Alya: Marinette I am so sorry girl about the video, honestly I tried to get it down as soon as I realised, I know I have majorly messed up here. Please forgive me. You need to ring me though! I know who Chat Noir is! Call meeee!
"You need to see this..."
Adrien showed Marinette the messages from Kagami. Marinette finished reading the multiple texts, her eyes widened in horror.
"She's awful," she said shaking her head. "Was she always that bad?"
"Seriously guys-" Plagg interjected, "One solution could solve all these consequences."
"Since when did you become so sensible Plagg?" Adrien asked rather bemused.
"Since you keep distracting yourselves!" He exclaimed. "Marinette, you are the Guardian of the Miraculous', and you need to protect everything about them including the safety of the holders"
The longer you leave it," Tikki chimed in, "the harder it will be to put everything back to how it should be." Tikki was hovering next to Plagg, they both exchanged worried looks with each other.
"You're right Tikki," Marinette sighed.
*bing*
Adrien's phone showed another message from Kagami.
Kagami: Keep hiding CAT! I know you've read my messages! Hawk Moth will find you once I have outed you and your BITCH.
"I think we need to get Fluff to Alix fast." Marinette concluded. "We might need help too... just in case Kagami..." she trailed off thoughtfully. Going back to the box containing the Miraculous', Marinette grabbed the Fox and Turtle Miraculous' and handed them to Adrien. "You will have to go and give these to their wearers." She instructed him.
He looked astounded at Marinette, "y-you're trusting me with these?" He stammered.
"Of course I am Kitty, I trust you with my life-"
She stopped as the hatch to her room opened and a plate with cookies was posted onto her bedroom floor, a note on top of them.
Be safe both of you, Love Mum and Dad.
"Thank you" Marinette called through the hatch, holding back tears. She knew that they would be in danger if anyone ever found out her identity. Her parents meant everything to her and had ultimately, always, trusted her to do the right thing.
"Eat up everyone," she held the plate up, "we're gonna need the energy."
"Haven't you got any chee-"
"Not now Plagg!" Tikki chided her counter part.
"Who do I need to give these to M'Lady?" He was scoffing cookies one after the other, famished from all the excitement the morning had brought.
"Nino and Alya," Marinette giggled when she saw Adrien's astonishment at this information. "They know about each other too so don't worry if they're together when you give those to them."
"They don't know about you though?" He asked unsure.
"No, and they mustn't know about you either." She kissed him unexpectedly and flung her arms around his neck, smiling brightly at him. "I bloody love you, and I can't tell you how good it feels to finally be able to tell you."
"I have an idea," he smiled brightly back, butterflies in his stomach. "I love you too," he kissed her passionately, pulling her as close as possible, before they embarked on their mission.
