almost were caught
Ty Lee slipped into Azula's window in the middle of the night a few days after returning to Caldera from Ember Island. She knew the palace security all too well. It even involved breaking off window seals, but she had become an expert over the years.
She hated to admit it, but it was actually kind of fun. Ty Lee never was much of a rule breaker although she sometimes acted out for attention. But sneaking into the Fire Nation royal palace - which might as well be a fortress - to see her paramour was a thrill and a joy.
Azula waited for her inside, wearing nothing but a smirk and a red silk bathrobe.
Ty Lee hopped in and kissed Azula softly on the cheek. It made her heart flutter; she was still getting used to finally being in a relationship with the girl she loved for as long as she could remember. It was beautiful and frightening at the same time.
"You happen to be late," chided Azula, frowning at Ty Lee in disappointment.
"My apologies, princess." Ty Lee kissed her neck and stepped closer. "The guards changed heir deployment and I had to find another way around them."
"And is that supposed to be an excuse worthy of royalty?" Princess Azula icily teased.
"I hoped so." Ty Lee batted her eyelashes. Azula's frown became a smug smirk.
"You owe me. I can think of a few ways you can pay me back."
Ty Lee smiled and leaned in for a deeper kiss as they peeled each other's clothes off and messily moved to the bed.
As soon as they lay down together, Azula straddling Ty Lee and pinning her wrists to the bed, someone loudly pounded on the door.
"Princess!" called a palace guard.
Azula leapt up and hastily tied her robe on.
"I am undressed. Leave!" snapped Azula ferociously as she covered Ty Lee in a red silk blanket uninvited.
"Your father wants me to check on you and seal your windows! An intruder was spotted!"
Azula stacked pillows on Ty Lee and opened the door.
"You have two minutes." She sidled to stand in front of Ty Lee's hidden body with her arms crossed.
The guard rushed to do his work, sweating profusely.
Ty Lee held her breath.
Perhaps she was not as good at breaking into the palace as she thought she was.
Azula bitterly agreed.
