Its almost at the end!

Thank you for sticking with it guys, favouriting and following. I have started another which I will upload once this is completed.

This is the first fanfic I have written and here are a few things I have learnt so far...

1. Planning is useful...

2. I use certain words wAaay too much.

3. It is something that everyone can do.

4. You can only improve.

5. Writing and reading is a great escape from the current situation.

6. Fanfic is something that can bring people from all over the world together.

If you like what I've done so far, let me know, if you have an idea on how I can improve, also let me know.

Thank you all! Stay safe!

Lady Rhi X

Monday morning came, and as usual, Marinette was running late for school. Alya and Nino were waiting on the steps for her, knowing Adrien wasn't in. Alya was going to be backing up her friend today, not knowing how some members of the class would react to the news of their new relationship.

With moments to spare, Alya spotted Marinette running towards the school entrance, flustered and slightly disheveled, she waved at her friends who waved back to her enthusiastically.

"I wonder how Chloé will take the news," Alya quietly commented to Nino.

"We'll find out soon enough," he replied discretely back just as Marinette reached them.

Walking hastily into school, Marinette was happy at the limited time her class mates would have to interrogate her on how it had finally happened. Getting to the classroom door, Marinette, stopped to catch her breath, wishing Adrien was here to take some of the attention that was undoubtedly heading her way.

"It's now or never," Alya encouraged Marinette with a smile.

Marinette swallowed hard, she turned to Nino. "Would you mind if Alya sat by me this morning please Nino?"

"Not a problem dudette," Nino said as he gave Alya a quick kiss on her cheek as he headed in to the class with the girls following after him.

Miss Bustier, who was normally standing waiting to do registration, was not present this morning and they were waiting for a substitute teacher to arrive. The trio sat down, with the girls positioned behind Nino, Chloé was the first to come over.

"Marinette!" In her usual high pitch bark, Chloé flicked her hair as she focused on a nervous Marinette. "Long as my Adrikins is happy, I'm happy," she sat down still looking at her, "as long as I don't get put in an utterly ridiculous bridesmaid dress!" She turned and sat facing the front of the classroom, shooting a genuine smile very quickly at Marinette. Marinette smiled shyly back, this was not the reaction her or Alya had been expecting.

Once Chloé had said her bit, a few of the others came over, Rose, Mylène and Juleka made a fuss while the lads behind them moaned at the high pitch shrieks. Juleka had hung around once the other two had gone back to their seats. Marinette thanked Juleka for the chocolate she had sent with Luka to the hospital. The two girls were exchanging words and Juleka went back to her seat after bending down and giving Marinette a congratulatory hug.

Everyone enquired how Adrien was doing after his accident, and Marinette informed them that he should be back in school later in the week after having a few days rest. It had all gone surprisingly well Marinette observed as she relaxed back in her seat next to Alya.

The classroom door was suddenly occupied by a familiar brunette.

Lila walked into the classroom with a friendly smile and positive body language. As she walked past the empty seat next to Nino, she noticed Adrien's presence was absent.

"Oh! He must be so tired after the photo shoot we went to yesterday!" She commented happily, completely oblivious to the situation and Lila felt the sudden tension that had descended on the room.

'She doesn't know!'

Marinette had assumed everyone knew about the accident, surely it would have made its way into the press. Thinking about it in more depth, there had not been any press at the hospital, no one had come to get an interview with Gabriel that day as far as Marinette could remember. Really, A high profile public figure being involved in any incident would be in the news.

'Unless you're Gabriel Agreste and you have influence over EVERYTHING!'

Overtime, Lila had lied so much people had started to doubt her tall tales, not once though had it been so obvious from the moments her words had left her mouth. People had been forgiving, and had put most of it down to exaggeration. It was clear today though, on this Monday morning, that she was blatantly lying to her class mates.

"Is everyone ok," Lila addressed the class in an upbeat chirpy tone but her eyes gave her away, they had turned cold, as they fixated on Marinette. Marinette had wide eyes of realisation at the situation Lila had unintentionally lied her way into.

'This is so good!'

Marinette couldn't help but feel some satisfaction in seeing Lila expose herself in such a blatant way. As Adrien had not normally challenged her publicly, and it was known she had accompanied him on other shoots, Lila was under the impression that Adrien would have gone along with her story. But he had not attended the shoot. It was only really Marinette who would have publicly challenged her lies.

"Dude, Adrien was in a car accident on Saturday," Nino awkwardly informed her.

"Didn't you know?" Chloé said with feigned surprise, raising her eyebrows at Lila. "I would have thought you would also know-" gesturing in Marinette's direction, "- about his new girlfriend." Chloé was taking much pleasure in telling Lila the good news, "Being as you and Adrikins are such close friends."

Lila was good, but not even Lila could wiggle out of this one. As she stood there, clearly calculating her next lie, the substitute teacher walked through the door.

"Sit down please," she started to shoo Lila from the front of class as she put her papers on the desk. "I am Madame Bell..."

For the rest of the morning Marinette could feel the glares coming from Lila's direction. Alya was piecing other occasions together working out the lies she had told.

"Girl why did I doubt you?" She hushed to Marinette who shrugged it off. "I knew she elaborated sometimes, but no one can dispute what we all know!"

Marinette was more concerned with texting Adrien discreetly under the table, occasionally having to stifle her giggles at their conversation. Alya looked over and could see the funny pictures and texts Adrien was sending her, also having to stifle her giggles at a particularly awful pun.

As they left for dinner, Alya and Nino joined Marinette to go to the bakery for some delicious treats. On the way they spotted the faces of Luka and Kagami.

Awkwardly they approached the trio, Kagami full of remorse for what she had done. Marinette had already forgiven her. Having already forgiven actions much worse from Hawkmoth last night, this was not an issue. Marinette could see happiness between the new couple, and was happy with this outcome for the two of them. Kagami even spoke to Adrien on Marinette's phone, and in true Adrien style, he forgave and understood her.

The only way this day could have been any better, was if Adrien had actually been by her side. Not to worry though, as Marinette would be seeing him straight after school. Adrien had mentioned that his dad would happily send a car to pick her up, but Marinette was happy to walk.

The afternoon flew by, and it was made even better by the fact that Lila had not come back after the dinner break.

"See you tomorrow guys," Marinette waved to Alya and Nino as they headed in separate directions. Walking on air as she made her way to see Adrien.
