And here is the finale of the 3 part camping trip! What a ride it has been! This is my longest chapter yet so hold on for the ride of Jacob and Bella goodness. This camping trilogy has been so fun to write so hopefully you enjoy! It ended up so much longer than I anticipated. I put off work to finish this chapter lol! Oh well. We'll see where we go from here. Maybe we can do a few innocent, casual chapters next.

Camping Part 3
I woke to the sound of waves crashing on the beach and the soft clink of metal. The tent was filled with the soft, gray light of an overcast morning. It had to be around 7:00 AM by how groggy I felt. I rolled onto my back rubbed my eyes. Angela was curled up on her side facing away, still fast asleep. Jessica snored softly with her sleeping mask snug over her eyes. Angela was gracious enough to take the middle spot in the tent. There wasn't much space inside to accommodate much more than our sleeping bags and our packs.
I carefully peeled myself out of my sleeping bag and stepped around the girls to unzip the tent and step out into the chilly morning. I squinted as the gray light filled the tent. I stooped down to shove on my boots, scrunching up my pajama pants and stepped out into the campsite. Embry was leaning over the campfire, a much smaller fire than last night, heating a metal kettle. Jacob was standing next to him, sipping out an enamel mug. He wore a thin sweatshirt, basketball shorts, and his braid was hanging loosely around his face. He looked absolutely adorable. His tired eyes met mine as I scuffled over to where he was standing. The smell of instant coffee hit my nose.
"Morning, Shortstack," he said, his voice deep from sleep and held out his free arm for me.
I laughed sleepily and eagerly accepted that invitation. I wrapped my arms around his waist and breathed in his scent of pine and salt water. "Morning," I mumbled with a scratchy throat. He was still warm from his sleeping bag. He felt so good. He smelled so good. Jacob. I unconsciously rubbed my face on his chest.
He took another sip of his coffee. "You sleep alright?" he asked and pulled me in tighter to press a kiss to my hair. Holy Moly. I like sleepy Jacob. Something like that wasn't completely out of the ordinary for us, but my stomach was telling me otherwise.
I squeezed him tighter and nodded. "Yeah, except Quil's snoring kept me up half the night," I grumbled bitterly. I swear that boy was trying to start a lawnmower. Jessica was smart and brought a pair of ear plugs. A habit she adopted from camping with her snoring father.
He chuckled and absently rubbed my back. "Try sleeping next to him."
"That was your boyfriend," Quil said as he sleepily shuffled past us in his boxers and barefoot.
"I don't snore."
"He's not my boyfriend," Jacob and I spoke at the same time denying two completely different things.
"Yeah keep telling yourselves that! I'm gonna take a leak," Quil called over his shoulder and disappeared into the trees.

Jacob POV
Bella looked beautiful in her little pajamas and messy hair. I've only ever seen her one time when she just woke up and it does not get old. Her brown hair stuck up every which way and her pajama bottoms with little flowers were sticking out of her boots. She wore that navy Phoenix sweatshirt from last night that she was drowning in. So adorable. So Bella. She was so cuddly in the morning and feeling her little body hug me so tight was amazing. I couldn't stop myself from daydreaming of sleeping with her in my arms. Keeping the cold away.
I shook my head. I had to stop doing that.
After Quil made that stupid ass remark about me being her boyfriend she quickly pulled away from me and went off into the trees with the girls. She hasn't really gone near me since this morning. Not that I blame her. Quil is a dumbass and is being a major douche in order to get into Jessica's pants. For whatever reason, he thinks being an ass wipe is an attractive quality to women. Maybe it is, because she's been laughing at every one of his jokes. She also seems to find joy in Bella's misery. Bella is just an easy target and after he let the incident slip last night, she has been the subject of most of his jokes. All because of me and my big mouth. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't want be my friend by the end of this weekend. Maybe that would be for the best since I can't stop fucking crushing on a girl who isn't looking for anything more than a friend. At least I think that's the case. I actually have no clue what it is she wants. I don't exactly know what she thinks about me. However, for her to hug me like that and let me touch her as much as I do. And for her to give me those looks with those big brown eyes, she had to feel something. Right? I sighed quietly. I guess I would have to keep waiting.
She was wading waist deep in the chilly salt water with the girls and Embry in that amazing bikini I helped her pick out for her trip to Florida. I never thought I would be blessed with seeing Bella in that little bikini and I couldn't thank the spirit's enough. I had to get in that cold water and quick.
Quil bounded past me on his way to the water. I gripped his upper arm and yanked him to me.
"Hey, what the fuck, Dude?" He stumbled and yanked his arm back.
"You shut the fuck up about Bella. Stop picking on her, man," I growled at him.
He snorted. "It's not my fault the girl is so easy to bug. Besides, Jessica thinks it's funny. She shoved her tongue down my throat like ten minutes ago," he did a tiny fist pump.
I rolled my eyes. "I don't give a fuck. Use some new material or else I'll tell her about the time you made out with your cousin," I threatened. Sometimes I wondered why I was still friends with him.
He looked at me clearly horrified. "Hey! I didn't know she was my cousin!"
I shrugged. "Not my problem. You make Bella upset one more time and your secret is out."
He scowled at me. "Fine, geez." He grumbled and continued to the water with less excitement.
Good.

Embry POV
We were walking through the thick trees surrounding our campsite looking for more firewood. Our gatherers from yesterday were, um, busy and went off on their own about an hour ago. Jacob and Bella were back at the site preparing for dinner. This left me and Angela to scavenge for wood.
She was pretty quiet and didn't seem too interested in talking to me. She was really pretty though. She kept staring at the ground as we walked, her hair hiding her face.
"So," I started. I wasn't really a smooth talker. "Um, are you having a good time?" I asked her.
She peeked up at me and dropped her eyes again. "Yeah. I didn't think camping would be so fun," she said quietly.
I knew she wasn't outdoorsy. I guess it made sense since she's been getting eaten alive by mosquitoes and got a sunburn from the beach this afternoon even though it was mostly overcast.
I nodded. "You've never been?"
She shook her head and gave me a small smile.
I stooped down and grabbed a few good sized branches.
"So," I said when we continued walking. "What do you usually do during your summers?"
Everyone I knew went camping since it was the cheapest and easiest thing to do around and pretty much guaranteed a good time.
She tucked her hair behind her ear. "Um, usually I visit my cousins in California for a few weeks. Or I just read. Or take pictures. I like taking pictures," her brown eyes sparkled and she bent down to grab a few smaller branches.
"Like photography?"
"Mhmm," she said and adjusted her glasses. "I have my own professional camera. It's pretty old. It was my dad's, but it works great."
That's actually pretty cool. I'm sure she would look really pretty in pictures. She had a natural way about her that made her look like she belonged somewhere like Paris or, I don't know, Canada. Not Forks.
I nodded again. "Cool. What do you like to take pictures of?"
She grinned and picked up a few more pieces of wood. "Um, I like taking pictures of people. Like doing boring stuff. Or of plants."
I chuckled. "Boring stuff?"
She smiled sheepishly. "Yeah, like I took a picture of my grandma folding laundry. The sun was streaming in through the window and the camera picked up a light flare and the dust floating around. And since it's a film camera, it looks like the photo was taken in like the 60's," she gestured with one free hand as she described the image. She seemed to really like photography. "It came out really cool. It's one of my best ones," she grinned proudly.
I smiled back. She was actually kinda nice to talk to. I never talked to any girls really. Unless you count Bella, but she's Jake's girl.
"That sounds nice. Could you show me your other stuff sometime?" I asked.
She blinked at me and dropped her eyes again. "Y-you want to see my pictures?" she stuttered.
Oh shit. Was I being too weird? Too forward? I don't do this shit. I don't know!
"Uh, yeah? You sound like you're really good," I shrugged. Yeah, shrugging is good. Nonchalant.
She struggled with the pieces of wood in her arms. "Um, yeah I guess that wo- oh!" she squeaked and she flew forward and landed on a heap onto the forest floor, the wood scattering ahead of her.
"Oh shit, are you okay?" I dropped my pile and stooped down to help her sit up. Her glasses were gone and she had pretty gnarly scrape on her knee.
"Yeah," she grunted and brushed dirt and bracken off her skin. "It happens. Ow," she winced.
I examined her cut. There was some blood but it didn't look too deep. She would be ok. Her legs were dotted with red welts from the mosquitos. Poor thing.
"Yeah, you'll be ok. But we need to get you back. There's bandages back at the camp" I reassured her and pulled the bandana out of my back pocket to dab at the blood.
She was quiet as I carefully cleaned away any remaining dirt and blood. We weren't too far from the camp so hopefully she would make it back okay.
"Thanks for not laughing at me," she said after a while.
Laughing?
I looked at her funny. "Why would I laugh?"
She shrugged. "You guys seem to like watching girls get embarrassed," she smiled sheepishly.
I laughed. "Quil is usually that guy. He can be a tool. Ignore him. Besides, you shouldn't be embarrassed. The forest isn't exactly easy terrain," I grinned and shoved the bandana back in my pocket.
She stared back at me. She had really pretty eyes. They weren't just brown but they had tiny flecks of green in them. And her eyelashes were so long. And I don't even think she was wearing any of that black goo.
"What?" I asked. Did I have something on my face? I knew I shouldn't have eaten that Snickers bar.
She shook her head and dropped her eyes. Her sunburnt cheeks got even redder. "I think you would look nice on my camera," she said quietly.
Oh shit. "Me? Why?"
She shrugged. "You have really nice hair and skin," she spoke to her hands. "Like you fit in with the trees," she smiled lightly.
I breathed a laugh. She was a little weird. But cute. "Thanks. Maybe we could test that out," I said. Shooting my shot.
She looked up at me finally. I made her smile bigger. She nodded.
Score!
I grinned and held out my hand to help her back up.

Bella POV
Jacob sat in front of me on the ground as I gently brushed through his damp hair. We spent majority of the day on the beach. Although it wasn't exactly beach weather, it was warm enough to enjoy the water without completely freezing. He sighed and leaned his head back.
"Feels good, Bells," he breathed.
I giggled. "Jake, keep your head up," I scolded lightly. He always did this when I brushed through his hair. He was so cute. He always told me he could easily fall asleep like this. However, he forgets he can fall asleep pretty much anywhere because he was a rare breed of human that can fall asleep in two minutes.
He chuckled and sat back up.
"Are you having fun?" I asked as I set the brush down to start is braid.
"Tons, Bells. Especially since you're here," he said quietly.
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, right. I'm sure you guys would have just as much fun without the klutz, mosquito magnet, and Annie Oakley," I laughed.
He barked out a laugh. "It's true, Bells. And look," he gestured to the empty campsite. "Jessica is distracting Quil. And Embry is finally getting some social interaction besides us."
I laughed again. "Yeah I guess," I said and secured his braid.
He turned to face me. "Are you having fun?" he wiggled his eyebrows.
I nodded and nudged his shoulder. "Tons, Jake," I smiled and scooted down to sit next to him on the ground.
"Yeah?" he leaned his arm on the log behind me. "What has been your favorite part?" he asked.
I looked at him and he was staring intently at me, his face close to mine. His fingers played absently with the ends of my hair while a little smile lifted the corners of his lips. I scooted closer to his warmth. "Um, probably getting to shove your head underwater," I grinned evilly at him and poked his stomach.
He chuckled and ducked his face closer to mine. "Yeah, I almost drowned you little rat," he growled playfully, lightly tickling my ribs.
I squeaked and pushed his fingers away. "That's because you grabbed my ankle. I thought some monster was going to drag me under. I could've died, Jacob," I said with in a serious tone. However what I didn't say was how incredible his slick skin felt against mine. He found any excuse to touch my arms and back while we were in the water. He held me in his arms as big waves threatened to knock me over. He never left my side and I, of course, couldn't complain.
He shook his head with that same smile on his lips. "Dramatic."
This time I leaned forward a few more inches, challenging him. Our faces were so close that I could feel his warm exhale on my face. Any closer and our noses would be touching. "Jerk," I barely managed to say.
He tilted his head to the side, that playful look in his eye still. "Yeah?" he whispered.
My breath caught in my throat. Just a little closer. His brown eyes held onto mine. I couldn't look away even if I wanted to. Closer. My heart was thudding heavily in every pulse point. My neck and fingertips.
I nodded and leaned one centimeter closer. His eyes watched my tiny movement and trailed from my eyes, to my lips, and back up. His brows pushed together ever so slightly. He leaned in one centimeter more. Testing me.
He parted his full lips slightly and his breath fanned against my lips. The smooth tip of his nose brushed gently against mine. My entire body felt like livewire. He was going to do it. One more centimeter. And that would be it. Once we crossed that line, there would be no going back. One more move. No more playing. No more tip toeing. One more centimeter. Butterflies danced erratically in my stomach. My entire body tensed with anticipation of the feeling of his lips finally meeting mine. A sensation I have imagined a million times before.
He leaned in ever so slightly. Half a centimeter. His upper lip grazed mine. Just a little more. He inhaled, stealing my breath.
One.
Two.
Three.
"She needs a band-oh shit!"
Jacob and I jumped apart and whipped around to find Embry, holding a pile of firewood, and Angela standing just at the edge of the trees.
Jacob cleared his throat beside me. "Uh, what?"
"Uh, s-she needs a bandage," Embry mumbled, his eyes looking everywhere but Jacob and I.
I jumped up from my spot on the ground and almost sprinted over to our tent which had the first aid kit. I needed a minute.
Holy shit. Did that just happen?
I practically launched myself into the tent, zipped it up, and crumpled onto my sleeping bag.
What the hell was I doing? Anytime I was near him it was like we were getting closer and closer to crossing that line. He wanted to kiss me. He was going to do it. But he was waiting for me to make that last move. I wanted to do it. But, I would be throwing our friendship out the window. We would no longer be just friends but we would be more than that. Could I handle that? I knew I couldn't handle losing him if our relationship went south. No way. I couldn't let that happen. But god I was so close to feeling those full lips on mine. Why did Embry and Angela have to come back at that moment?
I buried my face in my hands, both tears and redness making themselves present.
I heard the tent unzip.
"Hey," Angela's quiet voice entered the tent.
I sniffled and looked up to her stepping inside and zipping up the tent. Not that that would provide much privacy but it helped.
"You okay?" she asked gently, taking in my pathetic state.
I nodded and wiped my nose. "Yeah, sorry, it's just…" I trailed off, my throat constricting again, more tears falling out of the corner of my eyes.
"I know," she gave me a weak smile and sat down in front of me. She rubbed my shoulder. "I saw."
I scrubbed my face, hoping to push the tears back in. "I don't know what's wrong with me. I want him," I whispered into my hands.
"I know, Bella. It's a big step. And I know how tore up you were the last time. But, you guys seem to be pretty much made for each other."
I looked up at her then. She smiled again and dug out a tiny plastic tissue pack from her bag and handed me one.
"Thanks," I sniffled and dabbed my nose and eyes.
"He really likes you, Bella. And I think you know how you feel," she grinned. "You can't sit there and tell me you don't feel the same way."
I breathed a laugh. "Yeah, I know."
"So why are you sitting here crying and not kissing your man?" she giggled and poked my arm.
I rolled my eyes playfully. "I don't know. I'm just afraid that once we cross that line, there's so much that could go wrong. I don't want to lose him," I frowned.
She nodded. "Yeah, I get that. But Bella, that's a risk everyone takes when they get into a relationship. I mean, Embry pretty much just asked me out in the woods. And there's a chance that it could either work out really well or I would have to avoid him at your and Jake's wedding," she laughed.
That got a real laugh out of me. She was always a friend I didn't deserve.
"And, you shouldn't be so negative. Jacob is really sweet and I feel like the last thing he would do is hurt you like Doucheward did. And if you feel the same way as Jacob, you won't hurt him either. You guys are pretty much dating, minus the kissing part," she shrugged.
I nodded. Her words were true. As much as I didn't want to believe them. She was telling me how it was. Slapping some sense into me, minus the slapping part.
"So what are you going to do?" she asked.
I sighed. "Kiss him?"
"And?" she prodded.
I blinked at her. What else was there?
She laughed. "You need to make it official, girl. Take that boy off the market. Move over ladies, Jacob Black is no longer on the menu," she wiggled her eyebrows at me.
I joined her in her giggles. "Okay, okay fine."
"Yay!" she smiled and patted my knee. "I'm happy for you, Bella. Now it's time for you to let yourself be happy."
I nodded. She was right. What have I been doing with myself this whole time? Jacob was mine and I just had to jump.
"Good. Now help me bandage my knee."
/
By the time I finally got to courage to come out of the tent, Embry was poking at the glowing fire and Quil and Jessica finally made an appearance. Angela kept me company as I waited for the threat of tears to disappear. She graciously listened to my concerns and lifted my spirits in the way only a true friend could. She patted my arm and offered me a smile as she stepped around me to head towards Embry.
Jacob was sitting on a piece of driftwood staring intently at the fire. He was resting his lips on his fists.
I sighed quietly and forced myself to walk toward him. As much as I wanted to go back in time and pretend none of this ever happened, I had to fix this. Angela's words bounced around in my frazzled head. I wanted Jacob. I knew this. He wanted this. He wanted me. I knew that. I loved Jacob. This was a fact I have been aware of for weeks now. I just had to jump.
I walked slowly to where he was sitting. His eyes that were trained on the fire drifted over to me. The wariness present in them was obvious. His usual bright and sunny eyes were somber. Worried. He dropped his hands and nervously rubbed them on his jeans.
I stopped in front of him. He looked at me. His brow furrowed slightly as I stood there looking back at him.
And before I could really think about it, consequences and spectators be damned, I stepped between his legs and settled myself on his lap, wrapping my arms tight around his neck. I breathed in his scent of fire and forest. He eagerly wrapped his arms around my body, pressing me closer.
"Hey," he said, taking a deep breath in my hair.
"Sorry," I mumbled in his neck.
He rubbed my back softly. "Why are you apologizing?" he asked quietly with a smile in his voice.
I shrugged and enjoyed his warmth and comfort. My Jacob. Only mine.
He laughed softly, the sound vibrating through me. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," he murmured.
I pulled back to stare at him disbelief. Uncomfortable? He did everything right! It was me who couldn't meet my end of the bargain. "You didn't," I said sternly. "I wanted to-" I stopped, remembering we had a very quiet audience.
I turned my head to find Quil and Jessica staring openly, mouths agape, from across the fire. Embry had his eyes trained on the fire and Angela had a knowing smile next to him. She nodded encouragingly at me.
I turned back to see Jacob shooting a death glare at Quil. I touched his chin to turn his eyes back to me. "Wanna go for a walk?" I asked.
He nodded, his eyes softening as they bored into mine.
I stood from his lap and his hand quickly grasped mine. He led us out of the campsite and down the path leading to the beach.
The sun was just about to set along the horizon. The light bounced off the fluffy clouds that hung low, casting an orange and pink glow. It was beautiful.
His warm hand enveloped mine, his thumb rubbing soft circles on my skin, as we walked slowly, just out of reach of the tide.
My stomach did backflips while my heart pounded heavily in my throat. How on earth does one go about this? Do we have a conversation? So, I wanted to kiss you back there, but I chickened out last second, but now I'm sure I want to kiss you, but I want to make sure it goes okay and that it's not awkward and that it doesn't completely wreck our friendship even though I know after I kiss you we could never go back to what we had.
I winced. This was gonna be hard.
"So what's up, Bells?" he asked, nudging me lightly. Even in the most awkward of situations he managed to make it seem as though we were casually just catching up.
I grinned and nudged him back. "I don't know…" I trailed off, still unsure of how the hell I was supposed to do this.
"You had something to say to me?" he looked at me with a lazy grin on his lips. Those perfect lips.
I dropped my eyes to sand and nodded.
He stopped walking, halting me in my tracks. I looked up at him and he turned to me, taking my other hand in his.
"What is it?" he asked, his brown eyes trying to hold on to mine.
I bit my lip. Just do it already! Why couldn't I be smooth?
"Bella," he said after a few moments of silence. "You know I don't expect anything, right? We don't have to be anything but friends," he shrugged and dropped his eyes to our hands. "I know what he did to you," he whispered. "And I don't expect you to just fall into someone else's arms," he sighed. "But, I really, really, really like you Bella. Anyone with eyes could see that," he shook his head with a tiny smile. "But, I will always be your friend. Your best friend. If that's what you want. And I-I'll be happy."
"Jake."
"As long as you're happy then I'm happy. I know we almost kissed or whatever, but it doesn't have to mean anything. We can forget that ever happened,'' he spoke quickly, his eyes darting everywhere but me.
"Jacob."
"It was stupid. I-I was stupid. I wasn't thinking. I just got so caught up in the moment and I thought you wanted it too, but I shouldn't have assumed anything," he shook his head with his eyes clenched. "I should have asked you. I'm such an ass I-"
"Jacob!" I laughed.
"I can't believe I fuck- huh? What?"
I giggled and pulled my hands from his. I lifted on my tip toes to wrap my arms around his neck. "Are you nervous, Jacob Black?" I grinned up at his bewildered expression.
"Wha- Uh- I- No way," he stuttered, his cheeks turning slightly pink.
I shook my head, my teasing smile still in place. Who knew we were both so bad at this?
He took a deep breath and wrapped his hands around my waist. "Sorry."
"It's okay," I shrugged. "It's really cute," I teased and reached up to press a kiss to his warm cheek.
He chuckled and ducked his head to the side, away from my lips. "Fuck. Now I'm embarrassed," he groaned.
I laughed and kept pressing soft, slow kisses across his cheek, jaw, and temple. They started out as quick and innocent pecks, then shifted to something more. He grew tense under my skin. I could feel my confidence growing as I realized that Jacob really was just as frazzled as I was. For once he wasn't the smooth, nonchalant Jacob I usually see.
I pressed myself closer to him.
"You're driving me crazy, Bells," he breathed, gripping my waist tighter.
I trailed my lips across his cheekbone and down the side of his face, leading to the corner of his lips. His breathing hitched as I placed a soft, lingering kiss right at the edge and paused. "Bella," he whispered and turned his face slowly to mine. He hovered for just a second before he brushed his lips, with the pressure of a butterfly's wing, delicately against mine. Just a gentle touch. All confidence I had just a few moments before disintegrated and I was now captured beneath his gaze. I trembled slightly as he dragged his lips softly back and forth against mine, his warm breath tangling with mine. My lips tingled with the slight, silky contact, sending chills of pleasure and excitement across my body. I didn't dare move, knowing that we stood on the edge of our friendship. There was no going back. And at the moment, I couldn't find a single reason why we should. He teased me, as he grazed his lips on mine. Testing me. The lines were blurring and before I could think, I gripped the hair at the base of his neck and closed the miniscule distance between us.
He wound his arms tight around my body, pressing every inch of me to him. He took a sharp intake of breath and pressed his warm, full lips to mine. His smooth, fullness I've imagined so many times before, covered mine in a hot, pillowy caress. His warmth radiated across my mouth, down my neck, and engulfed my body with a flame of pleasure I've never experienced before. His soft lips pressed lingering kisses to mine again and again. He started out gentle, with just a slight pressure that slowly began to build. He tilted his head and began to kiss me deep and slow, each time pressing and pulling my lips with his. The whisper of our lips meeting joined in the rhythm of the waves. His thumb and forefinger came up to hold my chin in place. He took his time, tilting his head the other way, feeling more of me on his mouth. His lips filled my body with electric pleasure. He parted his lips just slightly, and with the tip of his tongue, he trailed just the inside of my lip. I gasped softly at the slippery heat and brushed my tongue against his, the silky taste of Jacob filling my mouth. He groaned into me and I whimpered back, finally realizing just how deeply we craved this. How his deep, gentle kisses could ignite such a fire in my belly that licked every single cell down to my toes.
His soft lips moved with mine, tasting, feeling, memorizing every dip and curve of my mouth. My heart thudded loudly in my ears, pulsing through my lips and cheeks. We both were so lost in the feeling we didn't even notice how the chilly tide surrounded us to our ankles.
Then loud cat calling, hooting, and shouting filled the air causing us to abruptly pull apart from one another. We both turned in the direction of the sound and saw Quil jumping up and down, one fist in the air, the other cupping his mouth as he hollered. Jessica and Angela were both cheering with huge grins on their faces. Even Embry was clapping and laughing as Quil clung onto him with pure joy.
Jacob let out a deep laugh at the ridiculous sight of our friends several yards away. He turned back to me, his eyes bright with excitement and, what seems to be love.
I couldn't fight the huge smile that spread across my face as I realized what just happened.
Jacob Black was no longer on the menu.
/
Jacob held me snuggly in his lap, giving me little to no wiggle room. When I tried to squirm and get up he would tell me that he's waited way too long for this and he couldn't just let me go. And I wasn't really complaining. I swear he would be floating if he could. His huge, sunny grin never left his face even as I fed him his third s'more. He joked and laughed with Quil and Embry, the happiest I've seen him this entire weekend. When he thought no one was looking he would press his sugar coated lips to mine, lingering and warm. He would tickle my nose with his, playful smiles on our faces, as we relished in the feeling of new love. My heart continued to beat quickly in my chest as we enjoyed the exhilaration. I grinned as I watched him converse animatedly with his friends and when he was busy talking I would press little kisses to his jaw and nuzzle his neck just to smell his scent that was all mine. I didn't have to be sneaky anymore. I could do this as much as I wanted and he would let me. His sparkling eyes, deep and rich from the glow of the fire would linger on mine for a few extra seconds every time we looked at each other. A warm, little tingle would trail down my spine with each look, touch, and kiss. Once we started, it was impossible to stop.
"I don't want to go home," I mumbled as I breathed in his scent just below his ear. I pressed a kiss there. My heart leaped with joy as I realized I could do this with my best friend, my Jacob, my sun. I could do this when I wanted and as much as I wanted. He was mine.
He groaned softly and hugged me tighter. "You keep doing that and I might not let you," he whispered to me.
"Gag!" Quil shouted from across the fire.
"Fuck off. I'm happy," Jacob barked back, his voice vibrating on my lips. I giggled as my face grew warm against his neck. He took the words right out of my mouth.
The group laughed and I peered around to find the offended Quil shove another marshmallow in his mouth. Jessica patted his arm but sneakily joined in with us.
"So who kissed who?" Jessica asked and I looked to find her wiggling her eyebrows at me.
I laughed uncomfortably as the warmth increased on my cheeks. Jacob chuckled at my face. "I guess it was an equal effort," he said and tickled my side.
I giggled again as his fingers dug into my sensitive side, my entire body already buzzing with love and embarrassment.
Quil made a gagging sound as the girls aww-ed in unison.
Jacob laughed with me and placed a finger on my chin and pulled my face back to him to place another soft kiss on my lips. I could melt. He was everything. My warm cheeks grew hotter as he unapologetically kissed me again and again. I didn't care enough to pull away. I couldn't get enough of him. I had to make up for lost time, after all.
I pulled away for a breath and played with the end of his braid. "We're gonna have to break the news to Charlie that you defiled his daughter on the camping trip," I joked as he grinned lazily at me, his melted chocolate eyes caressing my face.
He shook his head. "Well shit," he sighed. "I think it's worth it," he grinned and winked at me.
I playfully rolled my eyes at him and polished off my second s'more that had sat abandoned in my hand for several minutes. That was going to be an interesting encounter. Charlie's daughter who he thought was pregnant just a few days ago, went on a trip with her best friend/supposed impregnator, and came back in a relationship with said best friend now boyfriend. Oy vey.
I nervously munched on my last bit of graham cracker.
"Alright, we're heading off to bed," Quil stretched and grabbed Jessica's hand and headed towards the boy's tent.
"Oh, bro c'mon don't get your sex slime all over the tent," Embry shouted after them.
"Hey, I'm not that sick, dude. The tent isn't exactly soundproof. No one gets this show for free," he smirked over his shoulder and kept walking.
"And where the hell are we supposed to sleep?" Jacob asked.
"Fuck if I know. You can join us or canoodle your chick in the girl tent," he shot back.
"I'm not sleeping near you tonight," Jacob yelled, a look of disgust crossing his face.
Quil shrugged. "Suit yourself," he said and ducked into the tent with a giggling Jessica.
Jacob and Embry exchanged a glance. "Flip for it?" Jacob asked, nodding to the girl tent.
"Couldn't we just squeeze?" Angela offered quietly.
Embry shifted uncomfortably. "Uh, I don't think they would want us in there," he told her.
My cheeks burned at his comment. He obviously implied us engaging in more than just kissing.
"Dude, fuck off. We aren't doing shit. We can squeeze or someone's gonna sleep in the dirt," Jacob said, growing impatient.
"We can squeeze," I said softly. To be honest, I didn't know if I could handle sleeping alone with Jacob. Not only was it incredibly intimidating, it also went against my dad's rules. A part of me worried he would somehow know.
"You sure, honey?" Jacob asked, his voice growing soft as he addressed me. "You don't mind doing that?"
I shook my head and twisted my sweatshirt sleeves.
Jacob contemplated for a second. "Alright," he shrugged.

The boy's tent rocked and quivered as Embry fought through Quil and Jessica for his sleeping bag. We heard the pained shouts and protests of Quil as Embry yanked out his sleeping bag and stomped back over to the girl's tent. "I elbowed Quil in the throat," he grumbled as he climbed into the tent and squeezed himself between Jacob and Angela. We all laughed as Quil croaked out a "fuck you!" from the distance.
Embry settled in causing the already cramped space to feel even more like a sardine can.
"Ah!" Jacob grunted. "You kneed me in the ass, man," he hissed.
"Well sorry! I can't fucking see," Embry hissed back.
Angela giggled softly to herself causing me to laugh with her.
"What are you laughing at?" Jacob growled playfully as he shifted impossibly closer. We were squeezed inside my sleeping bag, half of him spilling out. Embry pushed him closer to me and his grip tightened as he spooned me.
I giggled some more and folded myself into his warm embrace. Despite how aware I was to his closeness, I would be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying it. "Nothing," I snickered.
"Mhmm," Jacob chuckled and nipped and kissed my neck. Oh yeah. I didn't mind it one bit. I giggled and squirmed against him as his lips tickled the sensitive skin behind my ear.
"I'm gonna barf on Angela if you do that all night," Embry grumbled through the darkness.
"Please no barfing," Angela squeaked.
Jacob sighed and shifted closer to me. "Sorry, Ang. Fuck off, Em," he murmured.
Embry elbowed Jacob and he kicked him back resulting in more laughing and playful chatter.
The boys continued to talk excitedly about their recent finds from their junkyard visits. His warm voice vibrated against my back, soothing me. Even though he was quietly chatting with Embry, he continued to caress me softly, letting me know he was still paying attention to me.
Eventually, their voices tapered off and Angela quickly drifted off to sleep which caused Embry to follow.
I sighed as I settled into Jacob's arms. He was in just a t-shirt and shorts which allowed me to feel his taut muscles through the thin fabric. He nuzzled his face quietly in my neck and placed silent kisses across my shoulder. My heart beat quickened as his touches, invisible in the dark, trailed along my body. His hands traced the skin on my stomach as mine wandered up and down his arms. I giggled softly as his toes tickled the bottoms of my feet and he breathed a laugh in my hair. I lightly elbowed him to stop but his playfulness never left him, even as he grew sleepy.
Eventually our touches grew softer and less frequent. His hands rested on my navel and drew lazy patterns across my skin. His breathing grew heavy as did mine.
He began to snore softly in my ear, a sweet lullaby. I followed soon after and drifted off into the peaceful oblivion that was Jacob.
This really was a weekend to remember.
